Walter was fantastic and so knowledgeable!! We learned so much- even unique little things about the local gardens and gorgeous oak trees. The homes were incredible and Walter knew it all!

This is my second time taking the tour. We love it and our tour guide Walter was the best! He's so funny, kind, and knowledgeable - he really made the experience 5 stars. We will be back!
Walter was a great guide. We learned so much about the area because he lives in the area and he provided excellent information.
Our guide Walter Thomas was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable of the area and it's history. He was very pleasant and was easy to interact with. If the opportunity arose I would highly recommend him as a guide.
Walter gave us a great tour of the garden district. His tour was full of history and facts, but never dull! This area is so beautiful and it was a delightful experience.
Walter was an amazing guide. He is very knowledgeable about different architecture styles, he threw in some excellent celebrity gossip and made our day super special seeing we are on our honeymoon. He recommended lots of true New Orlean experiences, restaurants and offered to be our contact for the duration of our stay.
Our Garden District tour with Walter Thomas was fantastic! We started indoors with a history lesson about Louisiana and New Orleans which set a great tone. Then we headed outdoors to see the grand old mansions and beautiful homes. Walter's knowledge of the history of the homes and their architecture was great. The homes are the star, but the time and effort that Walter put in to make our tour great is what brought them to life!
We had a great time on our Garden District tour with Walter. He had a wealth of information about the area and had even owned a home along our route. He was very professional and courteous. He was so kind to take us to his favorite restaurant after the tour. When Walter found out we were going to the Jazz Festival, he gave us food recommendations and their locations at the festival. He took the time to email us recommendations for restaurants after our tour. Would highly recommend this tour!
My 17 year old daughter and I took the Garden District tour and it was a wonderful way to start our trip. Walter, our guide, was a wealth of knowledge and started out by telling us all about the rich history of New Orleans before our tour while sitting comfortably at the meeting spot inside The Rink shopping center. He even gave us history on The Rink itself which was very interesting. On our tour we started at the cemetery gate, where Walter explained all about the way people are interned in the mausoleums. Very interesting! We continued on to see all of the gorgeous mansions and Walter not only explained the different types of architecture but also the history of the owners both past and present. After the tour Walter sent us his personal recommendations on restaurants and foods to order and we also received a great list from the owner as well. We couldn't have been happier with this tour and our amazing guide Walter. We will definitely book with company agian!
Me and my daughter had a tour with Walter, who was absolutely wonderful! We would definitely recommend this tour to all of our friends traveling to New Orleans!
Awesome walking tour of the Garden District. Walter was extremely informative, friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We spent the most enjoyable morning exploring the Garden District. Walter knew all about houses, plants, gardens and owners. He was entertaining and extremely helpful. This tour was one of the highlights of our visit. We learned so much and just had the best time.
Experience the beauty of the Garden District with a walking tour strolling the tree-lined streets and seeing the beautiful mansions. Learn history, architecture, stories and a few legends! Walter was our guide. He is personable, knowledgeable and full of details. I would highly recommend Walter and this tour.
Lacey was great. She was very informative of the history of not just the Garden District, but of New Orleans as a whole. She made the tour interesting by including information about pop culture and other fun facts. The tour itself was about 2 hours, and a little over 1 mile of walking. Highly recommend and we look forward to visiting the Garden District again soon.
Walter Thomas was an EXCELLENT guide! He was knowledgeable and kind. I will definitely tour with him again next time I am in NOLA
It was a great tour, very informative and architecture focused, factual, no made up stories, and it was very engaging. And a great way to really see and experience the neighborhood.
This tour was by far my favorite during our time in New Orleans! Our guide, Walter, was absolutely amazing. From his pre-tour history lesson, to his knowledge about the area, to his laid-back and friendly personality, he really made this a unique and unforgettable experience. If I could have spent all day walking around with him, it would have been a delight.
We had an incredible Garden District tour with Walter! He was knowledgeable, entertaining, and made the history and stories come alive in such a fun way. It felt personal, engaging, and relaxed — like exploring with a friend who knows all the best stories. Highly recommend this tour, and definitely ask for Walter!
We had the most amazing experience on this tour! Walter, our guide, was knowledgeable, kind, and provided us an unforgettable tour of the area. We could have spent all day walking around with him, learning about the area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Garden District. Our guide, Angela, was very knowledgeable and added appropriate humor and fun stories with her considerable knowledge of both the history and architecture of both the Garden District and New Orleans itself.
We had a very informative tour with Walter who was exceptionally knowledgeable on the buildings and area. Would definitely recommend the tour to learn about the different architecture styles. Walter was also helpful in recommending places to eat for our restricted diet.
We did the Garden District Tour in New Orleans with Walter, and he was absolutely amazing! He was so knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the history and architecture of the area that he made the entire tour come to life. Walter also gave us fantastic recommendations for restaurants and things to do during our stay, and even offered to create an itinerary for us the next time we visit. You can tell he genuinely cares about making sure everyone has a great experience in New Orleans. If you’re planning a Garden District tour, ask for Walter — he truly made our visit unforgettable!
Absolutely by far the best tour guide in New Orleans! Deanna is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to history, architecture, folk lore and “everything” New Orleans. This is a must for any visitors to the city.
DeAnna was an extremely knowledgeable of the area and all the “gossip”!!!! I am so happy the she was the tour guide who filled in to take our group on the tour. Thank you DeAnna!!!!
DeAnna is absolutely wonderful!!! We couldn’t have gotten a better garden district tour guide. It is so clear how much she knows about and loves the district. We learned so much, had a blast, and genuinely enjoyed her company. Do this tour and if you want it to be perfect, do it with DeAnna.
Lacey was our tour guide. She was excellent! We were a small group and it was so easy to hear her. She had lots of great information to share and was funny too! The area was beautiful the houses we saw were amazing. It was so nice to see a different part of New Orleans outside of the French Quarter. Because of the tour of the Garden District we will return again, and stay there! Definitely a tour worth doing.
We ended up getting DeAnna as a stand-in tour guide for a tour we booked through another company because the original guide fell ill. No shade to the other guide, and we are sorry they were under the weather, but we were so lucky to be given this tour by such a friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining person! I used to live in New Orleans, and DeAnna revealed so much to me that I never learned while there. It was my daughter's first trip to the city, and this tour contributed to her falling in love with New Orleans, something we now share! I have been on similar walking tours in New Orleans before, as well as in St. Augustine and Savannah. This was by far the best! We'll be booking directly with DuPont and Company on our next visit.
I had an amazing experience on the Garden District walking tour in New Orleans! DeAnna, our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and made the entire tour so engaging. Her passion for the history and culture of the area really shone through, and she kept things lively and fun throughout. Highly recommend this tour—DeAnna is truly fantastic!
Our tour guide, Lacey, was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a thorough, highly informative tour where I was able to take as many pictures as I wanted. Great tour. Highly recommend to anyone who is interested in history and/or real estate.
I booked this tour for a girls group and we had the best time! The tour guide was knowledgeable, the route had lots of interesting stops, and we enjoyed the whole experience. I am in New Orleans regularly but I still learned things on this tour that I would have never known. Plus, it's just plain fun to see fabulous houses!
Lovely walk through beautiful area gaining knowledge of the homes and their inhabitants. Wear comfortable shoes and be aware of uneven surfaces.
The reason I rated this tour the way I did is that the tour was cancelled. I would like to know how to get a refund for the tour.
Loved the garden district tour! Angela was so knowledgeable about the entire New Orleans area and garden district. Would recommend to anyone visiting New Orleans!
Sometimes you have to watch your step. And you’re not able to go into the cemetery. Otherwise very good guide
Our tour guide Angela was quite knowledgeable about the area and gave us a deep understanding of the history and the reason for so many cultures in one spot. The architecture portion was particularly interesting and references to well-known celebrities. I would highly recommend this tour in this particular guide.
We can't say enough nice things about this tour. Our guide Dominic Verdi was beyond incredible. Extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. The time flew by. Best tour guide we've experienced. Thank you Dominic!
Deanne was the best tour guide ever!! Her knowledge of the history of her area and the laws was so impressive and made for a great tour. Such a beautiful and lovely lady made us feel right at home. Highly recommend
Artie knows so much about the history of the area and even shared historical pictures along the tour and personal anecdotes of why she loves New Orleans. Highly recommend!!
DeAnna was a fabulous tour guide! We got lots of interesting information, and saw some beautiful homes. She knows a lot about the background of the neighborhood that I don’t think you would get from another guide. As a general rule, locals give the best tours, and she’s definitely a local. My travel companions kept saying, where did you find her, she’s great! I would highly recommend her.
DeAnna DuPont was an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable. Hands down the best Historic Homes tour we’ve done. Never thought anyone would top Savannah until now. We will be back. Highly recommend.
