Mr Derrick was AWESOME!!!!! Professional, knowledgeable
Great way to learn more about the history of New Orleans and see some spectacular old houses at the same time. Tour guide was knowledgeable and very passionate about sharing history.
The Garden District tour with Robin was a highlight of our recent trip to New Orleans. Knowledgeable about the history and architecture of this historical gem, she gave an amazing walk that included the homes of present and past residents from Jefferson Davis to Ann Rice. In addition to all we learned , she took great care of us , and referred to us as “family”which is how we all felt . Do not miss the tour!
This tour company cancelled the tour 54 minutes before the start of the tour due to low attendance. They called me 54 minutes before the start. This is horrible. Luckily some other tour company took pity on us. Honestly did they not know there was low attendance 24 hours ahead. If I’m required to give 24 hour notice to cancel so should the tour company.
Had a great tour with Carl; knowledgeable, good story teller, and unique perspectives on the history of New Orleans and the garden district - loved his book recommendations!
The Garden District is beautiful and we did enjoy hearing about some of the history of the homes. We loved seeing the architecture and the yards' landscaping. We got to ee another whole aspect of the New Orleans experience.
The Garden district has stunning architecture with beautiful wrought iron fences and moss covered trees . The day was pleasant with a gentle breeze . The only unplesantness was the guide . She was a true nightmare of little information . She repeated herself multiple times , referred to a huge laminated rolodex to share facts I could have googled . Square footage , cost , kitchen location , etc . Avoid Betty Jean . Nothing was unique or interesting . No fascinating stories of architectural details or talk of styles of homes . It was not worth it .
Beware! I couldn't go on the tour because our host wouldn't accept my bar code, and didn't know how to let me on the tour.
This was one of our most favorite events of our week in NOLA. Our guide was so so informative and really fun - he's the best..
The instructor was cool. Very informative on the tour and we got Some great videos and pictures definitely would come back
This tour was beyond our expectations. Peter did a great job and the houses and history are amazing. Peter handed out beads, water and with his I-Pad provided additional images of the houses we were viewing.
The Garden District tour was outstanding! Robin, our tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable. She gave information on New Orleans and Garden District history, the architectural of the beautiful homes, and talked about the people, including celebrities, who live(d) there. The tour takes two hours and you walk about a mile, with stops along the way. I highly recommend it! And having Robin was a real plus!
We love older homes and the history behind them. Peter met our expectations in his knowledge of the area along with being very kind! A great way to experience the Garden District of New Orleans.
Excellent your, Butch was great!! Very knowledgeable, entertaining and funny! A must experience if in New Orleans!!
Wear your comfy shoes for this - a lot of walking - and a lot of information. From the cemetery to the local mansions and other district houses - such cool architecture and behind the stories information.
A leisurely stroll around the Garden District, to include celebrity-owned opulent mansions, diverse architectures, and Lafayette Cemetery. Our guide, Harris, was welcoming and inclusive, and related insightful anecdotes of New Orleans and its history.
What a fantastic and fun tour! Yesterday we met up with Melika for a private tour of the Garden District. It was a beautiful day for a walking tour. Melika is so entertaining and knowledgeable. She told one historical story after another while introducing us to a variety of architectural styles. We had a great time. Thank you Cajun Tours and especially thank you, Melika!
Malika gave us the best tour I had in New Orleans. So much knowledge about everything, interesting, entertaining. We learned so much and it gave extra value to our trip in New Orleans. This is not our first time in New Orleans and this is why it was so interesting to learn new things
Informative and fun...enjoyed learning about the history and different types of architecture. Our tour guide Jamie was great!
Really enjoyed our garden district tour with Loki, he was born in the area and is 8th generation, he has a genuine passion for what he does and New Orleans, is very thorough and entertaining. The area and buildings themselves are incredible to see, it was well worth the leaving the French Quarter for a few hours to see how the other half live, see a few film sets and see where Ann Rice was inspired to write some of her famous novels. Loki also give great tipS on where to eat in the city and a thing else you could possibly want to know.
I lived in Louisiana (Mandeville) for high school and (Baton Rouge) for college. So, going back this time with a 'newbie' I thought it would be fun to do the tourist things with her. I'm so glad I did! Loki was our guide for the Garden District tour- ask for him! Not only did he grew up in the Garden District, but he is on a "Save the Cemeteries" board and your cemetery tour will be the BEST ever! Our tour was basically a walk down his memory lane along with a strong history lesson about how the city of New Orleans grew and how the boundaries and neighborhoods grew with it. He also has a ton of info and research to back up his tour.
Our tour of the Garden District was exceptional! Our tour guide, Loki, was an 8th generation New Orleander and his personal history and enthusiasm for his city only added to the tour. With Loki we got an insider's view of the Garden. A lot was covered in those two hours and though it was hot that day, we forgot as we were regaled with personal experiences and the history of the settlers of the Garden District.
Stephen was an excellent guide for the garden tour. He shared history and stories at each stop and clearly enjoys leading these walks. He kept a comfortable pace and was always aware of finding shade on a very warm day. Stephen also provided insights into New Orleans providing recommendations for activities and food. As the title says a brilliant tour.
Love the garden District, beautiful homes and history. Great stories at the cemetery. Very friendly tour guide.
