Excellent narration by tour director on points of interest along the way. Very knowledgeable and answered questions easily.

Itinerary
Whitney tells the story of the enslaved people who lived and worked there. It also includes the history of the early owners, the Haydel family.
Laura is a French Creole plantation that was run by four generations of French Creole women.
St. Joseph Plantation was a wedding gift from her father Valcour, who was one of the wealthiest men of his time.
Here you will spend about 3 hours on the plantation grounds exploring a national historic landmark. This historic site is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history its inhabitants left behind. With an emphasis on its time as a working sugarcane plantation, visitors are invited to experience the exhibits, walk under the iconic Allee of Oak Trees, and tour the big house. You will have the opportunity to have lunch at the restaurant or deli. You can spend a few moments in the gift shop, at the bar, or just sit under the many oak trees on the plantation. Then you will board back on the bus and take a 35-minute ride up the highway for a swamp tour.
Once we arrive at Cajun Pride Swamp Tours, you will board a pontoon boat to take a 90-minute tour through the swamp where you will learn about the many species of wildlife residing there. You will have the opportunity to take plenty of pictures of the moss-draped Cypress trees in their majestic beauty.
To close out the day, you will take a 45-minute ride back to the city on the Bonnet Carre Spillway Bridge overlooking Lake Pontchartrain before heading back to your hotel.

It was ok, I didn't get the real feel.
Both tours were informative. The plantation tour was well informed. The swamp tour was fun and our captain Tom quite the knowledgeable character. Mr Kintrell the facilitator of the excursions was very entertaining and kept us engaged on the ride. I would definitely book again through him.
First…Kin, our experience’s organizer, driver and guide was engaging and enthusiastic, while also being generous and thoughtful with his knowledge. Kin Faulk and “K’s”are extraordinary!!! The plantation exhibits and tour were very interesting. This ongoing chapter of American darkness needs to continuously be re-examined until this sin shapes the mind of this country to truly repent. Finally, the swamp tour was probably the best one my partner and I have been a part of. It was a nice light counterpoint to the plantation. A great guide made this so as he provided much fun and insight. Also, we saw wildlife we hadn’t seen before on a swamp tour. All in all this was a truly great day. And that was due to Kin and “K’s”. Yay.
K’s Luxury Transportation & Tours provided an outstanding experience. Our driver, Kindrell, was exceptional—knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely enthusiastic as he shared information about New Orleans. He also ensured our comfort by providing water during the drive. Overall, it was a highly enjoyable and memorable experience!
This was a full day tour visiting the Oak House Plantation and swamp tour. Both places were amazing to visit and Kin was a brilliant. Picked us up on time and would definitely recommend this tour.
Wow. It’s all I can say about Kindrell! Ok, perhaps also amazing. ☺️ Our family’s first trip to New Orleans and we wanted to take some fun tours to learn more about the area & history, and Kindrell was an incredible wealth of knowledge! He spoke to everything New Orleans, gave fantastic recommendations, was witty & fun to be with, and an excellent host. Kindrell was so well organized and polite! He called and texted when he was on the way to pick us up in front of our hotel. He provided us icy cold waters and made sure we drank them & spoke about the risks of the heat in Louisiana. His van was beyond clean and comfortable - so much so I’m embarrassed to say that I accidentally fell asleep on the way back to the hotel! I’m sad because my husband said I missed some great content. 😢. However, that’s how comfortable I was with Kindrell - a Mother with her family, fell asleep in a tour guide’s van, her first day in a brand new place… If you know how meaningful and special that is, you know. 💯 What really struck me was Kindrell’s care for a couple of older passengers - he GENUINELY cared for them. Helped them in & out, spoke to their tour guide to make sure they were taken care of, and went the extra mile. This is just what I saw sitting in the back row with my family. The Oak Alley Plantation Tour would have been much better had Kindrell given it himself and I felt like the Slave piece of the history is very white washed. Personal opinion; I want to return to do the Whitney Plantation tour next time completely from the slaves perspective - not the slave owners with the big, pretty houses. The Cajun Pride Alligator Tour was awesome!!! Oh my gosh, my family had a blast. We saw many alligators, got up close to a few when the captain fed them, saw raccoons, birds, and even a razorback hog! Everyone got to hold the smallest, softest, baby gator too. 🥰 I can’t wait to return to NOLA and I hope to use Kindrell’s services again and would recommend him to anyone and everyone!
Great Tour & Guide with clear communication around times, pick ups
We did a combination tour of Oak Alley Plantation and a swamp tour. Both tours were very interesting. Got to see lots of wildlife on the swamp tour. What made the day even better was our driver, Kin. He picks you up from your hotel, takes you to the scheduled tours, and takes care of checking you in. Then comes back to pick you up. Communication was great. He even called to tell us he might not make it back in time to get us from our swamp tour because he got stuck by a parade in the French Quarter. He arranged for us to go back with a tour bus if he couldn’t get there in time. He shares a lot of history on the drive back and forth. Highly recommend!
Kin, the initial tour guide & driver was fantastic and knowledgeable. We went to Oak Alley plantation as well as Cajun Swamp tour. Both tours were fun and a great learning experience about Creole & Cajun culture.
10/10 tour shout out to our tour guide Kin he was the best!
Kin was honestly amazing. I was supposed to be on a group plantation and swamp tour, but some people canceled last minute and I ended up being the only one. Instead of canceling on me, he still took me and turned it into a private tour, which I really appreciated. He didn’t hold back at all just because it was only me. He really took the time to teach me the history, answer my questions, and make the experience feel meaningful. He picked me up and dropped me off at my hotel, gave great food recommendations, and just went above and beyond. His van was super clean and spacious, had charging ports, and he even gave out water, which was a really nice and needed touch. I’m really glad I booked this tour. If you’re thinking about it, definitely go with K’s Luxury Transportation and Tour.
Let me start by saying that this is the only company that gives you three hours for the Oak Alley tour, which is great because it doesn't feel rushed at all. It's the perfect amount of time, really. And our guide, Kindrell, was fantastic! He told us all about New Orleans on the drive over. The swamp was seriously amazing, a great addition. We saw tons of alligators, and our local Cajun guide, Tom, was super experienced and really cared about the gators. Honestly, this was one of the best tours we've done in the US.
Kin was amazing! He made sure we were well taken care of and that we had information we needed to get the most of our tours. He provided excellent service and provided interesting information about the area on the way there and back. He even provided suggestions for restaurants, too. Captain Tom was great, too. We saw lots of gators, pigs, and raccoons. Oak Alley was beautiful and their staff was very friendly.
Kindrell was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The plantation tour itself was amazing, but Kindrell really went out of his was to tell us about the city along the way and stopped to let us get pictures on the way to the plantation. The van was comfortable and clean and he even had chargers available for anyone who needed to charge their phone. He went above and beyond! We even took his recommendation on a good restaurant and super fun haunted house he told us about!! (Kindrell take your wife and kids it was a blast!)
Kin provides great service for this tour. He gives insight to New Orleans as he drives you to the Plantation and the swap tour. He drops you off for both experiences, but makes sure you are well informed as to where to go and what to see. He made a wet and rainy day quite enjoyable!
We had the best time on this tour with Kindrell. From the moment we got started, it was clear how much he genuinely cares about making sure everyone has a great experience. He checked in often, made sure we were comfortable, and gave thoughtful answers to every question along the way. He personally connected us with the plantation and swamp tour guides, and both of those experiences were excellent as well — very professional and well done. What stood out most, though, was Kindrell himself. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about the city and all it has to offer, and he shared insights and stories that made the whole day feel richer and more personal. If you’re looking for a tour that feels personal and memorable, you’ll be in great hands with Kindrell.
Our tour guide was amazing the whole way through. He provided pictures and videos of some of the historical things that happened.
Absolutely one of the best tours we ever did. Kin was extremely informative and knew the answer to every question we had. The van was spotless and super comfortable. Although in both the plantation and the swamp we had different tour guides, Kin was still very knowledgeable in both areas. Captain Dustin at the swamp was a hoot! We laughed the entire tour. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to book a Whitney plantation tour with Kin too, but next time we visit, 100% will book with him again. Thank you Kindrell!
Excellent Experience, Our Guide come Driver Very helpful and informative, knowledgeable We definitely recommend the tour to friends and families
I have traveled extensively Europe, Africa, North America. I have never seen this level of compassion this owner/operator has for good service other then in Cairo Egypt where our tour guide stopped to pass sandals out to homeless in street. His knowledge of the area was great. The bus was comfortable. He provided water for everyone. The guided tour of house was nice. We walked the grounds. Great lunch at restaurant on site of plantation. Cheaper option is a cafe also onsite. Huge gift shop. Did wish the guide was available for slave history part. Do think could have spent an another hour walking around. The swamp tour was amazing. My son got to hold a baby alligator. They also had a gift shop with drinks and snacks available. Did have a video playing about different plantations during ride.
Kintrell is a really great tour guide cant recommend him enough. Went out of hid way to make it more enjoyable for us and knows what he's talking about.
Amazing tour as you drive to your destination you get some local history and fun facts. Ks is one of the only tour companies CONFIRMING a guided tour at the Whitney plantation which I why I choose them you also get another look at the plants to ons nearby defo book the swamp and plantation in one tour with him it’s more efficient we did a swamp on a diff day with diff company regret it !! Just do both simply kind lovely driver so welcoming !!!
This was a great experience. The highlight was the Cajun swamp tours. They have their own private swamp and it is full of animals and history. The Oak Valley tour was great as well. Our driver, Kindrell Faulk, was very entertaining during our drive. Keep in mind, this is a full day event, but well worth it.
It was nice and convenient being transported to the plantation n swap tour. I recommend you do the Whitney Plantation and swap tour. Our tour guided was very knowledgeable with the history of NO. As well as a cold water bottle on a very hot day. I would do the tour again.
KIndrell was amazing. Very knowledgeable & the perfect host. We would definitely use K's Transportation & tours in the future.
Great full day experience. It was family friendly, but adults would also enjoy it. Kin is very experienced and knowledgeable about New Orleans.
Kindrell was very informative and courteous. He brought us to the two tour areas (Oak Alley and swamp pontoon). We learned more from him than from the guide at Oak Alley. He had cool waters for us on a very hot day, which was a nice touch.
Kindrell is an excellent guide! He keeps us entertained with large knowledge of history about the places we are visiting, mixed with some nice humor. We hope to visit New Orleans, soon and, for sure, to have him guiding us.
Kindrell did an excellent job of sharing information with us that made our experience even better. He answered our questions and made great suggestions for restaurants. I highly recommend taking a tour with Kindrell and K's Luxury Transportation Tours. The bus was extremely clean and we had an enjoyable trip.
We had a great time! Kin took extra steps to make sure we enjoyed our tour--starting with picking us up at our hotel; making sure we knew where restrooms were located; where to meet; where to eat. The journey to the plantations was filled with information about each plantation we passed. He pointed out wildlife along the way as well as historic sites. He also gave "heads up" when we were approaching a photo op. Finally, the ride was comfortable, and he supplied us all with bottled water. Don't miss this adventure!
We loved our tour with Kindrell! We loved his personal stories, history tales and jokes. Really happy we stumbled across his smaller group tours! Thanks again for such a memorable trip. And remember, women are always right ;) Kelly & Dustin, Wellington - New Zealand
Kin was incredible. He showed us not just Oak Alley, but several other plantations along the way. He was very knowledgeable and helped us understand the history of New Orleans. He took care of everything so we could just enjoy the day.
This was a wonderful way to see the surrounding countryside, along with learning about plantation life, and seeing the wildness of the swamp. Kin was outstanding- since it was just the three of us in a very comfortable van, it was more like traveling, talking and asking questions with a friend. Kin was so knowledgeable about the area, and we learned so much more than we would have with a canned speech on a bus. The plantation was interesting and beautiful. Unfortunately it was too cold for any alligators to be out. But we did see wild pigs and raccoons. Overall, an excellent trip.
My partner and I had a wonderful time on the tour. The tour is well structured, has a good amount of time allocated, and does not feel rushed or too long. The plantation itself is really interesting and quite an emotional place to visit given the history. However, the best part of the tour was Kindrell. He is incredibly knowledgeable and provided so many facts along the trip, and is very clearly passionate about what he does. His enthusiasm, infectious personality, and desire to give guests a wonderful experience clearly shine through. He truly is the definition of going above-and-beyond. I cannot say enough good things about this tour and Kindrell - it is a must-do for anyone visiting New Orleans!
We took this Plantation/Swamp tour and our guide, Kindrell, was the best! He was very knowledgeable and personable. He kept us entertained the whole time. He made great suggestions on places to eat and visit while we were on our trip as well. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone coming out to New Orleans, you won't be disappointed.
We took a very sophisticated and thorough plantation and swamp tour with Kindrell. He was a very kind man with extensive knowledge of all the local sights. If he tells you to do (or not to do) something or go (or not to go) somewhere, trust him without hesitation! During the plantation tour, he will text you reminders before it starts. For the swamp tour, he will tell you the best spot to sit on the boat so you can be the first one to hold the baby alligator (yes even this detailed)! In conclusion, the tour with Kindrell was perfect. He truly goes above and beyond to give you the best experience in NOLA, and he absolutely delivered for us. We are grateful to have had him as our guide for the day. You’ll never regret having this guy for your NOLA trip!
Kindrell was amazing! One of THE BEST tour guides in all of New Orleans. My friends and I had traveled to New Orleans for the first time and Kindrell picked us up in front of our hotel. His van was very clean and didn’t smell. He kept the temperature pleasant for us. Our tour was to the Oak Alley Plantation and a swamp tour. As we drove down to the plantation, he educated us with the rich culture of New Orleans. As we drove by certain buildings and landmarks, he would explain the history of the culture of New Orleans. In his explanation, he joked around and made us laugh. He kept us entertained with showing us some pictures in the car which explained catastrophes that had happened to New Orleans, such as hurricane Katrina. As we drove over the highway that was flooded he showed us a picture. It really put things in perspective. As we drove to the plantation, he told us about the creole people and the food that they would eat he recommended some restaurants and food to try. Once we got to the plantation, he told us tips to make our visit there more efficient and fun. He provided us with some water and took some pictures for us. Then we went to the swamp tour and on our way there, we actually saw some gators along the side of the road to which he would stop so that we could actually see the gators. He texted me a listing of restaurants and after our trip, we tried a couple of the places that he recommended. One of the places that he recommended was a local joint and it wasn’t in the French Quarter so we really felt that we were getting authentic New Orleans style charred oysters! We would have never found this place if it wasn’t for his recommendation. I would recommend Kindrell on your next tour of the city! You can’t go wrong because he is so knowledgeable and entertaining.
Fantastic experience! Kim is very nice and he always cares that everyone is having a great experience.. and in fact.. we had!!! Thank you! We will advise it to everyone we know!
All great, tour guide, Kindell, picked us up at our hotel and was very timely, friendly, informative and professional. He made a great tour even greater!
This tour was terrific! Kin of K’s Luxury Tours called us personally the night before to let us know what time to expect him at our hotel. He was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, sharing facts and history as we drove to Oak Alley. We had a tour and lunch at the plantation, a beautiful place with a terrible history of slavery. The exhibits did a good job of bringing this history to light. Kin picked us up right on time and we were off to the swamp. He made sure we had one of their best tour guides. Captain Tom was a real character with a lot of interesting facts about the swamp. We saw a ton of alligators as well as wild pigs and birds. We even got to hold a baby alligator! Kin picked us up again right on time. He provided bottled water and even had phone chargers to borrow which was great as my phone was running low. This was our absolute favorite day I. New Orleans. Do yourself a favor and book this tour!

Our driver Kindrell was awesome, he was very informative about the area and answered all questions. He was also very accommodating. Kin communicated all the details of pick up and drop off and knew the tour details very well. We did the all day tour and went to the swamp first. Captain Dustin was great! This was the highlight of our trip! The animals were awesome! Oak Alley plantation is beautiful! This is a must do tour!!
Kin was an amazing tour guide. He had so much knowledge and a fantastic personality. He also had a very clean van, lots of water bottles and even phone chargers. It was the highlight of our trip.
Kin is a great guy. He shared a lot about the plantation history and local culture. The car arrived and picked us up on time, and the vehicle was clean. It was a wonderful trip.
K’s Luxury Transportation and Tours is top shelf. Kin picked us up at our hotel and once in the van he shared his vast knowledge of NOLA history, cuisine and local attractions. Enroute to our destination he explained points of interest and once at Oak Alley he gave instructions on how to best experience the plantation. The same was true when he dropped us off for our swamp ride. Kin took the work and worry out of our 7.5 hour tour. A most delightful way to spend our day.
We are so glad we booked our tour with Kindrell. From answering questions prior to our tour, to keeping us informed the day, to making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, he takes pride in his service. My only suggestion is to take the tour earlier during your stay in the Big Easy. We booked for our second to last day before returning home, which did not allow us time to book any additional tours with him nor get to try out more of his suggestions during our stay. The couple of places we did get to visit, and restaurants he suggested and we got to try on our last day were by far the best of our trip. Book him early, and take ALL of his suggestions to heart. He loves his city and he wants you to feel at home. We will definitely book with him again on future visits!
K did a wonderful job with our tour and definitely went above and beyond taking us on an impromptu Hurricane Katrina mini tour. His hospitality and knowledge was incredible! I highly suggest booking a tour with K's Luxury Transportation & Tours for a more unique and personable experience compared to the larger bus tours! K is an actual licensed tour guide (I believe he said for 14 years) and not just a driver that can give you so much information and history regarding New Orleans. He was very communicative regarding our hotel pickup so we knew exactly when he would be there. We are already planning a Spring trip and will be booking him for a private New Orleans tour!
What a gem of a tour with Kindrell at the helm! Move over all those other tours and tour guides, K's Luxury tours made the day a fantastic memory for everyone. The PLANTATION AND SWAMP TOUR WAS TRULY THE BEST DAY OF THE TRIP! Kindrell has the experience and knowledge of New Orleans that is unmatched. His sense of detail and true passion for what he does showed in every aspect of the day. He cares about what he is doing and ensures his customers are happy and get the most out of the experience, right down to what boat tour guide you want to ride with on the swamp. Oak Alley Plantation was fantastic and Stephen who led the talk about slavery on the plantation was enthusiastic, informative, and all of this presented in his unassuming Cajun style. I could have listened to him all day about anything, not just history. The swamp tour did not disappoint, I got to see my alligator, as a matter of fact, I got to see a whole lot of alligators. Captain Tom was sweet, kind, and knew his stuff about life on the bayou in New Orleans. You can tell he truly lives what he says. We can't thank you enough Kindrell. And thank you to your wife for the breakfast options too. Good luck in all your ventures ahead, you deserve it. If you are thinking of a tour, this is the one, don't hesitate, register NOW!!!
Kindrell was beyond outstanding. He is knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and looks out for his group. Never being to New Orleans before, we appreciated all the wisdom he shared. He also gave tips for both the plantation and swamp tour. I can’t recommend his tour enough!!
