Edward was an excellent tour guide. We had a fun and entertaining tour as we walked through the French Quarter.

Very informative and interesting tour of the upper French Quarter
Greg was wonderful. Took me to areas of the quarter I hadn't been to and told interesting stories about the buildings we were looking at. Highly recommend his tour.
This is the second time we have booked a tour of the French Quarter with Friends of Cabildo. Despite it being our second tour, we learned even more interesting facts from our Kellie, our Guide. She was incredibly knowledgeable and shared from the perspective of women and their role and impact on the culture and society at the time of New Orleans’ founding and its ongoing development. We will definitely book again for another tour the next time we return to NOLA.
The French Quarter walking tour was excellent. Our guide Mike was knowledgable about New Orleans’ history, architecture and culture (past and present). He delivered an amazing amount of information with humor and a perspective that conveyed his love for the city. This tour made me want to return for more.
Suzette was an amazing guide. So friendly, knowledgeable and it was a great pace. Learned so much and had a great time. Book with her if you can! Thank you so much for a memorable experience!
Suzette was an incredible tour guide! She was so knowledgeable and our group could have continued listening for hours. She really is a gem 💎
Patti was a great tour guide! We appreciated her knowledge about the French Quarter and New Orleans history.
Patti was fantastic. She was very informative and approachable. Would book with her again.
Great tour! Our guide Donny made history come alive, and we came away with a much deeper appreciation of the history of the City. Recommended wholeheartedly!
Warren was a wonderful guide. He answered all my questions and was very pleasant to chat with about the local history and customs.
Louis Kong was an excellent guide!! He shared his research and insights with us. A fantastic resource!!
Louis has so much architectural knowledge!
Louis was an amazing tour guide and kept us all engaged with his secrets of the quarter!
Wonderful tour and wonderful guide.
The tour guide, Joanna, was fabulous! She was knowledgeable, accommodating, and provided an interesting, engaging and intriguing perspective on Sicilian History in New Orleans. Friends of the Cabildo really delivers on historic accuracy.
My tour guide was "Ric". He was friendly and very informative about the French Quarter. I enjoyed the tour very much and would recommend him to other people interested in the tour.
Had a walking tour with Carolyn and couldn’t recommend any more full of information and valuable knowledge
This is long overdue, but we loved our tour with Keith T! Been carrying his card in my wallet for so long meaning to write him a review. He was so knowledgeable about New Orleans, had so many fun stories, and was accommodating when I kept having to use the bathroom (drank a lot of water cause it was so hot!) The admission fee was so worth it and included a water bottle as well. The tour was the perfect length - not too short, not too long.
The tour guide was new to the role and inexperience showed. No group cohesion, presentation sounded rehearsed and there was a lack of passion and storytelling around places/objects. Tour operator should have provided more training and dry runs. It was a waste of our money.
We LOVED Liz S’s tour. She is so knowledgable about the city - I lived here for a few years and there was so much I didn’t know I didn’t know until she told me! My favorite part was learning about the history of Voodoo. In terms of a tour guide style she was engaging, but also gave us all moments to think about and have introspective moments about the complicated yet magical history of New Orleans… Also loved how much the city has to thank for the women who have made it as special of a place as it is… Will be recommending to every single person, resident or tourist. Thank you, Liz!!!
Elaine was AHMAZZZZING!!!! So knowledgeable. Elaine told the story of New Orleans, its history, architecture, people and inspiration. Thank you for your time, your story telling ability brought magic to an already magical city!
Elaine was really great and informative also very nice and friendly.
Very knowledgeable guide. Tailored the tour to my interests. Learned a lot of fascinating things about the history of New Orleans. Highly recommend.
Kat was wonderful! Extremely knowledgeable and was able to give us so much valuable information about New Orleans that we didn't know!
My guide was Danny and he was awesome!!! So much knowledge and no question was left unanswered. He was so personable, and made feel comfortable straight away. I think he made want to visit NOLA again, just to explore it more.
Today was hot and we had small children. Our guide was incredibly flexible and creative with his tour. He educated and entertained us for 2 hours. He made us feel relaxed while we were on vacation.
Carolyn was fantastic! She spoke very well about the history of New Orleans, teaching even locals so much new information (in the rain as well!) She is a vraie dame de Louisiane for sure!
Very knowledgeable and interesting
Ric was the best! Very informative
It was a great experience, both my kids and myself learned a lot. There is no way we could tour French qtr in the hot summer without Cindy’s great help and guide!!
Carolyn G is a gracious, knowledgeable, and articulate guide. She focused mainly on the French Quarter’s architecture to frame the development of New Orleans from an Indian trading village to becoming a critical prize in the 18th Century Super Power contest among the European Imperial powers. She showed how subsequent waves of immigration have created the cultural, culinary and musical gumbo that makes the city a uniquely attractive tourism destination for Americans and visitors from around the world,
Andrea D was our tour guide. She was incredible, very knowledgeable and made for a pleasant morning. I highly recommend her tour.
Excellent tour with great highlights
Kat was excellent. She gave us a thorough tour with lots of history and conversation.
I loved this tour! It was well paced, welcoming, and really interesting. Such a lot of detail about the people or New Orleans, the buildings and the tiny details hidden around the French Quarter. Huge thanks to Warren who guided us in a gentle, thoughtful and humourous way.
Warren was an amazing tour guide. We learned so much and had a great time as well.
My friend and I, both New Orleans residents, decided to take the Friends of the Cabildo Garden District Tour recently. Ms Lee Eaton was our guide. We learned so much about this beautiful neighborhood and would recommend this tour to both locals and visitors. Lee was a font of knowledge and presented the tour in a conversational yet educative way. We learned the history of the area and the stories of architecture and original residents, all in relation to the city’s development timeline. We also saw some former homes of local & national celebrities, including Anne Rice, John Goodman and Sandra Bullock. All in all, the two hours flew by and it was a delightful way to spend a Saturday morning.
Learned so much about the area! And it’s great that the tour contributes to the preservation of history of New Orleans
Great experience walking and listening to our guide Elle!
Suzette was a fabulous and knowledgeable guide! She showed us so many details about the French Quarter that I would have missed!
Britt was a great tour guide. This was indeed a very interesting, amazing, and fun cultural/historical tour. As a first time visitor in New Orleans , I highly recommend this walking tour with Britt. Thank you so much!
Knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend!
I had a great experience on the Friends of the Cabildo French Quarter Walking Tour. I went in the morning (10:30am), to try to avoid the worse of the afternoon heat - and I ended up being the only person on the tour. My guide, Britt, was great - he was very nice and personable as well as being very knowledgeable. He knew a lot about the history of Louisiana and New Orleans including the fascinating mix over time of various cultures and peoples as well as stories of certain historical figures/personalities and information about local architecture. I learned a lot and enjoyed the tour.
Tom was full of great history knowledge plus current issues/topics in the area. Would highly recommend his tour.
Tom was an amazing tour guide.
The tour was nice. We learned a little about the history of the city and some of the women who were important to the shaping of The Quarter. We did have to ask why the names in the town are mainly French but the architecture is Spanish. I think that is probably important enough that it should have been mentioned without being questioned. Our tour guide was knowledgeable but I believe we could have learned a lot more than we did in the two hours we spent with her. Especially since there were only 3 people on the tour. Also, be aware there are no breaks during the tour. They do offer one free bottle of water to take with you. But one bottle of water will not be enough if you are touring during the heat of summer. Just offering a quick stop at Lafitte Blacksmith Shop or some other place with water would have been much appreciated. Are we glad we took the tour? Yes, but we wish we had gotten more out of it.
I am a native Louisianian and live in NOLA half the year. I've been on many tours over the years. Our tour guide Liz S. was the best! Besides her knowledge and enthusiasm, she had researched details of Nola history that I hadn't heard before and as such, I learned so much new information. She deliverey of the material was interesting and entertaining. She obviously cares about her role as a custodian of Nola history more than the average tour guide. We enjoyed her tour so much I booked 2 more tours with her.
Really great experience! I’ve been to the area many times, but never did an official tour. Our guide, Liz S. really brought it to life!
Ric was a wonderful tour guide. He was very knowledgeable, and had great stories about the history of New Orleans. He was always able to answer our questions and gave us an even better appreciation for this beautiful city.
