This was an excellent tour with Jonn as our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about New Orleans history and very informative. My family enjoyed ourselves and learned a great deal about the city and we especially loved the visit to Cafe Du Monde at the end.
Jonn was very informative & worked hard to keep our group engaged in very hot temperatures! The beignets were also wonderful
We had an amazing time on our New Orleans food tour! Susan did a fantastic job bringing the city to life with her knowledge of the history, culture, and unique character of each neighborhood we visited. The food was absolutely delicious, and every stop felt thoughtfully chosen. Susan’s passion for New Orleans really shined through and made the experience feel much more personal than just a food tour. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to experience the flavors and soul of the city!
We loved this tour from top to bottom. Great food, great scenery and great explanations throughout. Susan, our guide, excels at her job. She had engaging, thorough and thoughtful explanations of all the sights we were walking through and food we were eating. Would highly recommend this tour and especially Susan!
Love the coffee and beniget a must visit. There was no fee to get in. We went on a tour bus of New Orleans and it was part of the tour. We stayed for about 15-20 minutes. Open and airy plenty of seating. Lots of people. The staff was nice. The coffee is delicious. They're known for their benigts.
Wonderful guide we had, Lauren, such a nice woman, informative and delicious, about 2 hours, little on the pricey side but BEST value for money considering you get four mini meals!
Great tour by our tour guide Kristi she did a wonderful job of walking us through town and explaining the history of New Orleans. She made the trip enjoyable and personal and we really felt well about what we had learned. Highly recommend her for everyone.!
We booked this Tour to learn more about the history of New Orleans and the French Quarter. Jonn, our guide, gave us an incredibly insightful look into both the past and the present of these historic places. Every house and every corner has its own story and secrets, and Jonn knows them all. This tour was one of the most exciting and interesting I’ve ever experienced. The time flew by far too quickly as our small group strolled through the historic alleys. The visit to Cafe Du Monde at the end, with its delicious beignets, was unforgettable. A big thank you to our guide and Destination-Kitchen for making this special experience possible for me. The tour was more than worth of the price. I’d love to do it again on another occasion!
Lauren provided Excellent food and history
Our tour guide Jonn was the absolute best! He is beyond knowledgeable about everything in the French Quarters! He takes his time to explain the facts, the sites, and every detail, which is so appreciated especially when traveling to a new destination. Getting to learn the French quarters and its history was amazing and we were truly taught by the best! Thanks to Jonn!! Our wonderful tour guide and an expert in anything/everything historical. Jonn made this trip very memorable for us with his quick witt, funny jokes and charisma! We can’t begin to thank him enough! He gives the best tours!
We highly recommend this tour. Jonn was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable and personable. Our group ended up being only 5 people, so we had a very interactive tour with Jonn, who answered every question we asked. Since he also does foodie tours, he added some restaurant insights and suggestions, as well. It was only supposed to be a two-hour tour but, when he determined that it would go past the two hours in order to cover what he wanted, he asked us if that was OK. We all agreed and the tour lasted closer to 2 1/2 hours. The tour ended with a voucher for each of us to Cafe Du Monde that covered 3 beignets and a coffee each. He said we could use them at any day/time and at any site, including the airport, and covered all costs, including tip. So, we used one that day and one the next.
Jonn was super knowledgeable and really made the experience a great one! Give yourself about 2.5 hours for the tour as there is a lot of information to go through. Thank you Jonn!
Lauren was very good , knew what they were talking about and went to amazing spots to eat good food. They even gave us great spots to try in the future. 10/10 would most definitely go again
Easy to work with! Great communication, pleasant staff, very accommodating. We were running late and the tour guide did everyto make sure we could still participate. Even, when it became apparent that we couldn't make the tour because one of our group could not walk, Jack checked in on us and offered to get our Cafe du Monde coupons to us.
Very fun and informative tour Kristi was very knowledgeable and shared great information about the history and stories from the city
Christi was a joy. Very informative tour. She covered history, ghosts, pirates and everything in between.
What a pleasure and honor it was to spend a couple of hours with this humble and knowledgeable New Orleans historian John Hankins! Walking throughout our tour was like walking with a celebrity, which he is. We feel fortunate for such a special treat along with ending it at Cafe Du Monde!
Very cold the day of tour but guide very good at keeping us in the sun and moving. He was very knowledgeable and native to area so had personal stories as well.
Tour guide Jonn was very knowledgeable and lots of fun! It was our first time in New Orleans and we learned so much interesting history! We loved this tour!
The tour was great and our tour guide John was amazing. He made the experience more special with his knowledge and story telling skills.
John told us lots of interesting facts about the history and culture of new orleans. So much I didn't know as a native New orleanian.
Our guide Jack was so knowledgeable about the history and architecture of New Orleans. He was very engaging! We thoroughly enjoyed the tour.
The food was good and it had a good atmosphere. The restaurants were good and everybody was nice and welcoming. Including how all the history that was included I learned a lot about the culture of New Orleans.
John was extremely knowledgeable and personable! He made for a great experience full of laughs. We were lucky to have him as our guide (:
We had such a wonderful time! Jonn was so kind, full of personality and enthusiasm for his work. I recommend him to show you around and explain the history of the French Quarter
Jack was amazing. He shared so many unique and interesting facts about the area we walked. You can tell he lives the city and takes pride in knowing its history. Highly recommended. I loved that we didn’t go to the everyday stops that other tours take everyone on. This was a small group, that took us down unique areas.
Lauren was an amazing tour guide. Full of knowledge and funnier than expected. New Orleans is a better place because of Lauren.
Well I have to said this was an excellent tour. Our tour guide John gave us the history for each site visit and more. The details on each portion of this tour was informative and help me to learn more about New Orleans and French Quarters.
This was a must-do tour- our tour guide Jonn was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly! My kids and I learned so much — Jonn brought the city to life for us!
Very nice tour focus in the history of New Orleans. John was a great tour guide! My favorite spot was St. Louis cathedral.
John gave us such great information and wonderful recommendations for places to eat, and you can’t beat ending at the world famous, Café Du Monde
John was very knowledgeable, friendly and accomodating.. He wanted us to learn everything we could about the area. He worked to engage our teenage youth.
Kristi was a great guide and we learned a lot and had fun. We felt like we got a really comprehensive tour of the area with great history and stories. Definitely recommend taking this tour. The vouchers for Cafe du Monde were the powdered sugar on top.
My college roommate and I took our 16 year old daughters to New Orleans to relive our glory days at Tulane. Before we could leave, though, we had to show them the vieux carre! It has changed so much in the past 25 years, but Jonn gave us a wonderful historical overview of the four cultural influences of New Orleans, and also brought in some current events. He gave us restaurant tips, praline tips, best bathroom tips, and of course, we ended up at cafe du monde - which may have be the highlight for our teen daughters! Jonn’s passion and enthusiasm for his city made it all the more engaging. You’d be well served going on his tour!
JOHN WAS AMAZING! We got lucky and only had our group on the tour so John was really able to cater some of his recommendations to us specifically and answer some off the wall questions for us. He is super nice, engaging, and knowledgeable about nola!
Great tour! Guide was knowledgeable and friendly. She kept the tour interesting. I would go again and recommend to others.
Jonn was our tour guide and was the perfect mix of kind, informative, and funny. Definitely recommend this tour for anyone visiting New Orleans!
Jonn was our tour guide and he was awesome!! So knowledgeable about New Orleans history. Lots of good information, fun facts and stories. We enjoyed the walking tour very much.
Suzy was a great tour guide. Waited for my mom and didn't talk and walk so that we had enough time and the situational awareness to be able to absorb the information she provided.
There were parts of the tour that was beyond what was expected but the tour guide was bland and not as friendly as we have had in the past. We took another tour and would recommend that one over this one.
This was a very informative and interesting tour of the French Quarter. I especially enjoyed the tour of Jackson Square and the French Market.
Jonn was very knowledgeable and so friendly. I would recommend him to anyone. He made the day lots of fun.
The history of the quarter is so much more than anyone knows. Our guide, Jack, was absolutely great. One of the very best experiences!!
We booked our tour but it didn’t meet the minimum number of participants, however Larry our guide stepped up to take our small group of four. He was the best, and gave us history of the city he was most knowledgeable of. We learned a lot. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and recommend it.
We had a blast. Milton our guide was very knowledgeable and so sweet. We learned a lot about the French Quarter History and could listen to Milton all day. The beignets at the end were a special treat.
Jonn was a fantastic guide! He is very knowledgeable and shared super interesting information. He’s also a great storyteller, and just a really nice guy. Prior to beginning the tour, he made sure to understand what we were interested in, and emphasized those things. I would highly recommend the tour and Jonn.
Suzy our guide was so wonderful! Personable, relaxed & very knowleadgeable about the history of the French Quarter & NOLA in general. Learned so much & will highly recommend this tour & their guides!
John our guide absolutely made this tour! He was engaging and very knowledgeable about the history, architecture, and culture of the French Quarter. It was obvious he loves the rich history here and helped my sister and I really appreciate it too! Cafe du Monde was everything we expected and a must do, so the fact it’s included is an awesome bonus to a great tour.
My mother and I went to New Orleans this past weekend 6/7-6/9 and we decided to book the Destination Kitchen Walking Food Tour through the French Quarter. I will start with how surprised I was that my mother suggested this tour since she is not an adventurous eater, and she has MS, so a walking tour seemed like a bit of a stretch. That being said, our tour guide (I believe her name was Kristi) was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Having had a bad experience the night before with another tour we were a bit nervous about how this one would pan out and we are so happy that we went. Our guide greeted us with a smile and a face full of glitter at the meeting spot. I explained that while my mother could walk just fine, she could not go at the pace that most of us walk at in a city... a slight jog 🙂. She reassured us that she would be taking the tour at a leisurely pace and that it had a number of spots where we would be reviewing the history of food in the city, have the opportunity to sit in the restaurants, grab drinks and use the restroom if needed and we did just that. Everyone in the group was so wonderful and had such a great time enjoying the food on the tour and better yet learning about the history of this amazing city. We started with the Beignet and some other delightful treat that I can only compare to a cider donut made with rice... (YUM) then we moved on to the French Market (a must see) to enjoy alligator and a po'boy. Everyone in the market was so amazing and our server at stop three Brian was efficient and friendly despite our time constraints. As we moved on the food got even better and the restaurants more elegant. I will not spoil the surprise with everything else we tasted (what's the fun of that)! This tour and more importantly this guide (Kristi...???) is a MUST DO when you are in New Orleans. 10 out of 10. Thank you for the wonderful experience. - Coming in Hot from Boston loaded up on Espresso.
