Meri is hilarious AND a great storyteller! There were lots of other guides out with tours that night, and I could hear portions of their narratives. They came in a distant second. Meri is TERRIFIC!

Mari was wonderful. Knowledgeable with a good speaking voice. Kept the group interested and being born and raised in the area, knew all the history.

Had an incredible experience on our haunted French Quarter tour with Lisa! She combined the local haunted history with pop culture references which made the experience super relatable. She was so sweet and knowledgable of the area, answering whatever questions we had with total honesty. That includes questions about food, which she had an additional wealth of knowledge! It's a very cool experience - if you like history, spooky things, and southern charm, this is a good pick!

Great Haunted Pub Crawl with @exploring_nola from Lafitte's Blacksmith shop all the way to Muriel's. Met King David at the beginning which set the tone but a wonderful night of storytelling and sharing experiences. #freetoursbyfoot First time in forever I have done a tour here but Lisa was fantastic!

I was a first time visitor of New Orleans and only there for 2 days so wanted to pack in as much as I possible could. I did three Tours by Foot tours. Every city I go to I look for this company. The guides in each city have always been knowledgeable, great presenters, and provided overall wonderful tours. This city was no different! I took two tours with Matthew - the French Quarter and Garden District tour. Both were wonderful, tying in some current knowledge with historical information. Matthew was superb in navigating the weather (it was hot in one tour - because July - and then rained right before the next one). It was smaller groups but Matthew kept the energy up and was quite helpful with other local recommendations. I definitely recommend taking a tour with Matthew! The last tour I took in New Orleans with the Tours by Foot Spooks & Spirits with Lisa. Lisa was amazing! I actually thought of booking the same tour with Lisa the following day just to learn more. Another group ended up canceling and it was just me on this tour “group.” Lisa kept the energy up while ensuring I still got an amazing experience. She is local to the area and provided great insight to all the sites. She really made the city come to life in her story telling!!! I will definitely be seeking out Lisa on my next trip to New Orleans, I’d gladly attend any tour she would be doing, cannot recommend enough taking a tour with Lisa!

Andrew was considerate, polite and very knowledgeable about the French Quarter History. He had wonderful stories and was engaging while telling them. The tour went to interesting locations inspired by the spirits that could be residing there.

Evian was very knowledgeable and had such a fun spin on the “horror”. We mostly enjoyed the in-depth knowledge and the willingness to answer all of our random questions. Evian is wildly knowledgeable about the history of New Orleans and the time flew by quickly! We were very grateful we had such personalized attention and the small size of the group. I know we had a much better experience than the large groups that passed by. Thanks for the flexibility too about the schedule. It was a perfect experience!

Very disappointed. Did not go to 4 of the places listed on the itinerary that we really want to learn about. Tour guide walk ahead of us and never told us about anything along the, just talked about the few places we stopped at. Said it was a crowded night with other tours around. Ended tour 15 minutes early

My bestie and I were visiting New Orleans. We did a Spooks and Spirits Pub Crawl with Lisa. We had the best time! Lisa was knowledgeable and fun. She kept us interested and answered any questions we had. She did an amazing job, and I'd love to do another tour with her. I would definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our French Quarter tour. A friend and I had a girls weekend. Our guy‘s name was Matthew, and he was fantastic. Friendly, funny, and very informative. Told lots of great stories. He even sent a text prior to the meet time with his photos so we would know how to look for him. He gave a suggestions for where to go eat. Highly recommend the tours by foot. I’ve taken this French Quarter tour at least four times, the garden district one a few times, and even the ghost tour once. Every guide I’ve ever had has been wonderful. Thanks, Mathew!

We had an absolute blast on the Spooks & Spirits Pub Crawl with Lisa! She was engaging, funny, and full of fascinating (and spooky!) tales about the French Quarter’s haunted past. Walking through the historic streets at night added to the atmosphere, and each stop along the way brought a new pub with its own unique vibe. Lisa really went above and beyond—she not only shared great ghost stories but also made sure we knew what each bar was known for, which helped us pick the perfect drink at each stop. She let us know which places were cash only and pointed out nearby ATMs, which was super helpful. On top of that, she offered fantastic dinner recommendations that we ended up trying—and loving. If you’re looking for a fun and memorable night in New Orleans with a perfect blend of history, haunts, and happy hour, this is the tour to take. Highly recommend!

Meri was a very nice and cute tour guide. I had a great experience with her. We went in a small group so I could easily follow and catch all the information. This is not those kinds of spooky tours that tryna scare people but an informative one.

Tour guide never showed up. Waited awhile and sent several messages, no response. Asked if we needed to reschedule. Nothing. I then Submitted a refund request, which told me that It may take 7 days to approve or deny refund, and then 30 days to receive my money back. Wow, what a disappointing experience. So, we won't be able to take a tour while we are in New Orleans. Don't trust. Stay away.

This was awesome! Evian was our tour guide, and they were fantastic. Super informative about the history of New Orleans. While not the most spooky, this was such a fun way to learn about the grim history of the city!

I went to New Orleans with a group of friends to celebrate my wife's birthday. I knew one thing that we were looking to do was a ghost tour, so I did some research on who to book with. Tours by Foot has a great business model and excellent reviews everywhere I looked, and they offer affordable private group tours so booking with them was a no-brainer. Let me tell you, I am glad I did! Our tour guide was Evian, and they were well-informed on not only the paranormal history of the French Quarter but also the history of New Orleans as a whole. We learned so much about how things got to be the way they are in the city while learning about the spooky history as well. Oh, and there were plenty of true crime tidbits on our tour too! I'm not sure if that is typically covered in the tour, but during our communication leading up to the night of the tour I expressed our group's interest in everything spooky, paranormal, and true crime, and Evian delivered. From the time we met until the conclusion of the tour, we were in good hands. Evian was professional and made sure we avoided the congestion of the big group tours in the area. We were also given some great recommendations on things to see before we left town, and each one we followed up on was a hit! Overall, our group agreed that the tour was the best part of the trip and I would highly recommend checking it out!

Lisa was awesome! She gave us the Dark Side of New Orleans Ghost Tour on January 16, 2025. Lisa kept our attention with her storytelling ability and I loved the fact that everything was factual. I had one simple request and that was to not tell me non-truths. She assured us that anything she told us was documented and could be checked. I have been on other tours not only in New Orleans but other cities and sometimes we were told stories to just fill the time. Some people may like this, but I don’t. Bottom line Lisa was amazing and I highly recommend!

We did the darker side of New Orleans tour with Meri. It was freezing and she still came out and did such a great job!!! She told us ghostly stories without being too scary for our 5yo! She even emailed us some stuff that was too scary to talk about in front of him. It was a great authentic tour and I would recommend it to anyone! Thanks Meri.

I knew that I really wanted to take at least one walking tour when I was visiting New Orleans, but I was on a fixed budget and most of the options were very very high. I found the tours by foot Company and their ghost tour lined up with my itinerary. I’m so glad I picked them! The price was really reasonable and the tour was solid. Mari was my guide and she hits the perfect balance of funny, informative, and thoughtful about logistics. There was a good blend of stories and I left feeling like I knew the quarter better. I also appreciated that it didn’t feel quite as cheesy as some of the other tours going on at the same time. Highly recommend!

Roni was a great tour guide. He is a great storyteller. The stories were excellent and different than what we heard on other tours. He spoke clearly and could be heard which is hard in a busy city.

Our guide, Mari, was a fantastic story teller& full of stories relating to the historic residencies of ghosts tied to certain buildings and homes, in the lovely and well-populated French Quarter of New Orleans. Because she's local born and raised, she had lots of background personal perspectives and relevant info. Just very entertaining and engaging- and a good connector with her group.

Andrew was a great guide. Very interesting info. Would have liked more drama and intrigue since it was a ghost tour, but cost was reasonable and Andrew was very knowledgeable.

Very entertaining stories on the ghost tour. We saw a lot of the quarter - the pace was comfortable and the area is flat. This is not a difficult tour at all, but the sidewalks are very uneven so you should can an eye on the ground.

First of all. Mari is DELIGHTFUL. Not only is she super knowledgable she’s also amazingly charismatic and inviting. Her telling of the history was super entertaining and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire tour. We would absolutely recommend this tour, as we as Mari! One of our highlights in Nola!

This tour was great! Loved the historical attention and side notes about architecture. The ghost stories were interesting and told with great information without over embellishing that lead to lack of credibility with so many other tours I’ve done. My two 15 year olds were kept engaged even though it was crazy humid and uncomfortable. Our tour guide was Meri and she was great. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Her love for her home town was obvious in her delivery and really added to the overall experience. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in the history behind the hauntings.

I loved this tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of New Orleans and wasn’t pushy at all about asking for a tip. The tour took a little over an hour probably. We heard about lots of gruesome crimes and some fascinating history. I think the highlight of the tour was seeing the LaLaurie mansion. If you’ve watched American Horror Story Coven, then you should recognize the name of Delphine LaLaurie. We also heard about Marie Laveau but didn’t actually walk by her house.

Mary was great! Very knowledgeable and funny! Loved all the stories and good for young ones as well. Enjoyed every minute of the tour!

Really fun spooky (not scary) tour. Mary, our guide, was super knowledgeable and a great storyteller. She clearly knew lots about the history and local politics of the Quarter. All the stories had an element of truth, and she did a great job explaining what could be explained and (eek!) what could not. Highly recommend for adults and teens. About a mile easy walk.

We went on the ghost tour with Meri as our host during our honeymoon! We had such a great time learning more about the French Quarter history and the ghost stories were amazing. She kept us engaged and also laughing with her jokes. We covered a lot on our tour. My husband and I went to Muriel’s for dinner the following night and got to see the seance room. So, I recommend that as a nice follow up to the ghost tour!

We went to all the usual "haunts" on this tour. The stories on this tour were far more in depth than other tours we've taken in New Orleans. The guide had their facts straight, and we really felt that they were conveying spirits that have been seen by the living. We especially liked their interpretation of the Mad Madame Lalauri story.

We loved all of the history, light-hearted jokes and authenticity put into the tour. The hour and a half was informative and comprehensive. There was no rush to get through the experience and it felt conversational. We felt like the kids got an education on this tour and stayed engaged. This was our first tour with this company and we would definitely do it again.

We take tours with Tours By Foot whenever they are in the city we are in. The New Orleans guides were great storytellers, especially the ghost tour! Being a good storyteller can make, or break, these narrative tours. Our guide was amazing. They were able to paint a picture of the ghosts that have resided in the French Quarter of New Orleans for ions. As we walked around we could tell our guide was cut above the rest.

What a fun experience! From the moment we checked in we knew Meri would be an entertaining guide. Our whole group agreed she was the best guide we had while we were in New Orleans. Her interpretation of these age-old New Orleans ghost stories was unique. We have taken ghost tours before. Her's was smoothly run, and she engaged the entire group.

This tour was the best mix of campy, spooky, and historical. We stayed in what they call the "Lower Quarter" so there was not too much walking. The guide put a lot of the hauntings, and ghosts, into historical perspective. We enjoyed the Muriel's story the most. We walked past other tour groups who definitely did not look like their guides were entertaining them as much as ours did us. The booking process with Tours By Foot was simple and easy. I received a text before the tour from our guide as to where they would be and their photo.
