Miss Jill did an amazing job with this tour. She was incredibly patient with the kids and the material was perfect for the target audience. My daughter learned a lot and I was happy she was getting well researched and fact based information delivered in a way she could understand and process (even though some topics are difficult for kiddos to get). We loved the tour so much, we booked the tween ghost tour with Miss Chelsea the next day and loved it as well! I cannot recommend this company strongly enough if you are traveling with kiddos.

What a great tour! Leann was so knowledgeable and passionate about New Orleans history and it really came alive for my 7&10 year olds. She took her time answering questions and adding details and both children and adults walked away with new understanding of the region and history. Both kids and adults were engaged the entire tour, and it was a great mix of history, walking, props and active learning. You can tell Leann is a teacher. I’m sure she’s just as wonderful in the classroom, her students are lucky.
We absolutely LOVED the Creole Kids tour! Leann was our guide and she did a phenomenal job! She went above and beyond with the tour and did an amazing job making history come to life. My husband and I loved it just as much as the kids! It was the highlight of our time in New Orleans, and the kids said it was even better than beignets! 😉
We took a kids walking tour and it was wonderful! Very educational while being engaging and fun. Learned a lot about Creole culture and how people lived hundreds of years ago in New Orleans.
We had a wonderful time! Our 3 daughters really enjoyed the tour and so did we!! The tour was so informative and fun! We highly recommend doing this tour.
My kids loved this! The guide was very knowledgeable and professional. She was very personable and when I told her my children’s father was creole, she made it a point to connect the tour to them. We will be doing more tours and I definitely recommend.
This was an amazing experience for our kids. The communication with location and information ahead of time was perfect. This tour kept our kids attention the entire time and our kids were taking about it all day long. It was very educational and we would highly recommend when visiting NOLA.
Highly interactive. The kids were engaged every step of the way. Jill had visual representations which helped to reinforce facts. Lots of laughter. A wonderful and memorable tour for our kids!
Amazing! Kids and adults loved it! Teacher Candice was perfect! Kids learnef even though they didnt want to.
My 8 and 6 years old stayed engaged the entire time. All four of us learned interesting history of NOLA. Not as much walking as I expected (this was a good thing). I would highly recommend this tour. I wish I booked more tours through them.
Our tour guide Jill was fantastic. My son (9 years old) was engaged the entire time. He learned while having fun. His parents learned a lot about New Orleans history too!
Was a great experience. Was just me and my 9 year old daughter. Learned about the mississppi and it's significant to New Orleans, Learned about the transitiion from 1600;s to 1800's from Native's, to French to Spanish, to Now. Learned about Andrew Jackson and we even had a sword fight. Was hour and half tour. Guide kept us shaded most of the time which was nice. Was small group so was very 1 on 1 which also made it enjoyable.
Fantastic tour! My nine year old son loved it. Jill was a great tour guide and kept him engaged and laughing the whole time. Highly recommend!
I highly recommend this tour for kids. Our kids (12,10,8, and 6) all enjoyed it. Jill was very friendly, and interactive with the kids. We didn’t travel far on foot, but the time went by fast. After the tour she texted me with recommendations for both experiences and food for our vacation. This is worth the money.
We have family in New Orleans, so our kids have visited regularly. We were looking for something new to do to fill a morning and I stumbled upon this tour in a Google search. It looked promising, and I'm so glad we booked it. My boys, even with their previous knowledge of New Orleans and numerous visits to the Quarter, were engaged the whole time and enjoyed themselves, even my tween. Jill was a wonderful guide, and I would recommend the Creole Kids tour to anyone visiting New Orleans with kids.
My kids and I enjoyed our Creole tour with Caroline so much that we did the Spooky tour with Sara a few days later. Both tours were fantastic for my 6 year old and my 4 year old got quite a bit out of them too. We talk about things we learned and saw on the tour often. I’d highly recommend these tours at the beginning of your time in the Quarter - it gives the kids (and adults!) some context for what they’ll see. It’s also fantastic for homeschoolers. The tour guides are former teachers and really know how to share info in a way that kids will remember. My six year old left exclaiming “That was the best tour ever!”
Our six year old enjoyed the Creole Kids tour. Caroline kept a large group of 6 to 11 year olds and their parents engaged the entire time. She did a wonderful job of authenticly engaging with NOLA's beautiful and painful past.
She really kept the kids engaged the whole time and my son retained quite a bit. I really appreciated the fact that we moved a good bit and got to see different parts of the French Quarter. My son still talks about the butt pillow and white gold. Highly recommend this tour!
This tour was top-notch, loved by kids and parents both! We tried to join every tour they offered within the duration of our stay, they are the best. History met culture met geography in dramatic battles, stories of villains and heroes, and the magical congruence of creole influences that make the city of New Orleans what we love today. If you have kids, this is your first stop - for adults, too!
We had a wide range of 6 children (ages 2-10) and 4 adults. We are Louisiana natives, and highly recommend the tour. Ask for guide Sara, she was WONDERFUL with our children. As a mom and school teacher, I highly recommend and would even do this tour again with my children. It’s historical and engaging. 5 stars from this krewe! Thanks Ms. Sara!
We were a small group and of varying ages. Our guide Caroline was an experienced schoolteacher with a knack for eccentric amusement. I thought she did a great job interacting with the kids and brought a lot of information to them in a fun way. Highly recommend. Would have liked to have done the spooky tour but my 7 yo grandson is still too scared of spooks.
We have a 7,5, and almost 2 year old. We knew when we visited that we wanted it geared more towards them because there's nothing worse than being a kid and being bored walking around with your parents in the heat, on a "vacation." This was AMAZING and worth every cent! We all learned so much and the kids had a blast! I would definitely recommend to anyone with kids and will be looking for this company every big city we visit to see if there's something there or similar!
Kids really enjoyed the tour and parents did as well. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and kid friendly. She gave some great New Orleans history. Highly recommend.
We took our kids, 8 and 6, on their first trip to New Orleans recently and this tour was a great introduction to the city and its history. Caroline was our guide and she made the information interesting and accessible to the kids but also for parents, and at one point I noticed another couple on a nearby park bench listening closely as well. Doing this on our first morning helped give context for what we'd see the rest of our trip. Highly recommend this tour to other families, and on a future trip when kids are a bit older we'll probably check out the spooky tour too.
My kids aged 9, 11 and 12 all enjoyed the 1 1/2 hour Creole tour through the French Quarter. Caroline was an excellent guide. My kids left asking if we could then do the Ghost tour but sadly we had run out of days. We all enjoyed the experience and left with loads of new knowledge, plus tips on other spots to visit in the FQ - three of which we did add to our look around.
We absolutely loved the Kids Creole Tour and would highly recommend it. The guide was extremely engaging; my children (ages 13 and 7) had a blast and learned a lot. If you're visiting the French Quarter with kids, these tours are the way to go!
My wife took out granddaughter on the Creole Kids Tour and she thoroughly enjoyed it. She is 8 years old and she was like a sponge adsorbing all the sites and information presented by the tour guide. The adults loved it too! The tour took about 90 minutes and it was well worth it!
Fun and informative, the kids absolutely loved the Creole tour. And as parents, we also learned a lot. Thank you!
This was my children's second time to New Orleans...I asked what they wanted to do on this trip and they all said "kids tour!". Their first trip, the "creole tour" was their favorite part of the trip; this trip it was the "ghost tour". Can't wait to come back and do the music tour with them. They really made it fun for the kids (and I know I loved it as well).
We did the Creole tour with our 5 year old daughter and we all enjoyed the tour very much. The guide was amazing, he had great approach to kids and could engage not only them but us (adults) alike -- it was fun to watch how the kids got immersed in the story and we did learn a thing or two in the process as well. The tour was very well organised with nice props and a good deal of imaginative story pieces that served as a trigger to learning about the actual history of New Orleans. Our daughter loved it and we would highly recommend French QuarTour Kids to anyone. Thanks again for the tour.
Our guide for the Creole Kids Tour was Caroline and she was phenomenal. My seven year old, who is usually suspicious of learning on weekends, was entertained and learned a lot. We adults learned a lot too! The tour was fun and informative, and just the right length. I would definitely recommend!
We recently went to New Orleans and took the Creole Tour via FrenchQuarTour Kids. Our young boys -- ages almost 8 and 5 -- loved it. Our tour guide made the tour interesting and engaging for their age. She broke down concepts so that kids would find it interesting and learn something. And she gave our active boys a fun way to understand history and get the wiggles out. I highly recommend this tour to other families with young kids.
This tour was one of the highlights of our family trip to NOLA. The Creole history tour focused on the role of the Mississippi River in the settlement and development of the city. Our guide did an amazing job of bringing that history to life, including the charts, maps and primary artifacts that she pulled out of her cart. I don't want to ruin any surprises for other families who decide to take this tour, so I'll just mention that it was very interactive and included several objects that could be held, viewed and passed around. Our family includes kids ranging in age from 5-16 who homeschool and also have a strong background in American history. We all got something out of the tour. However, I think our younger kids enjoyed it the most. Our teens didn't learn much that they didn't already know and they felt that the guide was speaking more to the littler kids; but they felt that the hands-on component improved their understanding.
We have taken two tours with our 12 year old and our six year old, and they were great. We go to NOLA several times a year, and my kids ask us to take them on these history tours! The Creole Kids tour was engaging and informative for both kids and parents. The Spooky ghost and pirate tour was creepy in a fun way and lighthearted enough that no one got scared. If your child is interested in pirates, take the spooky tour! The guide is wonderful with the kids, answers all of their questions, and gave them a little treat at the end of the tour. Communication with the company was quick and responsive, and tour booking was easy. Great experience!
Great tour - kids (ages 6 and 9) really enjoyed it. We did the Creole Kids tour. Ms. Heidi did a great job keeping the kids interested and engaged. Highly recommend!
We loved this tour. It's a great kid-friendly way to learn the history of New Orleans and our whole family loved it. I highly recommend it!!
On the Creole Kids Tour, we were led from the riverfront through the old city streets, where we were shown how the land and life developed here. My 10 yr old wasn't happy being surrounded by younger kids, but she interacted with the past, and reenacted the past in a hands-on, engaging way. She analyzed maps, primary sources, and artifacts from the past. Our guide Jill painted a picture of life in 19th century New Orleans- for better or worse. Our daughter enjoyed herself immensely!
The creole kids tour was perfect for our family (mom, dad and 2 sons ages 9 and 6). Informative and fun! A great tour for either locals or for New Orleans visitors.
My 5 year old granddaughter did the Creole Kids Tour. It was great and all the kids on the tour seemed engaged. We all learnt about the Mississippi River and the environmental impact on New Orleans along with many interesting historical facts . I would highly recommend this tour, such a fabulous idea.
Such a wonderful way to give kids a sense of history, geography, and culture. Both my 6 and 9 year old were engaged in the Creole kid’s tour.
This was an amazing tour! Our guide Jill was totally awesome. She connected with our kids (8 and 10 years old), keeping them interested, engaged, and (yes) even thinking while on vacation. We had a great time learning about the French Quarter and New Orleans. Jill was super knowledgeable and made complex and complicated topics relatable to the kids. Very interactive and very silly at times! Highly recommend the tour... and Jill.
The tour is wonderful. We have taken two different ones now, The Spooky Tour and The Creole Kids Tour, and both have been wonderful. Jill makes history fun and the kids were having so much fun, they didn't know they were learning. If you have kids, I recommend you take them on one of these tours.
My kids went on the Creole tour, which was an amazing experience. Jill was friendly and informative. Even my mother-in-law, who is a bit of a history buff and had previously lived in New Orleans, learned some new things! This was the highlight of their trip - what a fun way to learn history!
My 11 year old daughter and I did the Creole Kids Tour today. She was skeptical because she is shy and didn't know what to expect. By the end of the tour she was asking Jill(the guide) why did she start doing this and wants to start one in our home town. The tour was awesome. Very informative and interactive. I think I was more engaged than some of the kids. I strongly suggest this to all parents because the information provided is phenomenal.
We signed our two boys, ages 6 and 8, for the Creole Kids tour. Jill is very organized and sends you emails and texts to make sure you know where to meet and at what time. She is super friendly and kept the group of about ten kids engaged for the entire time with the history of New Orleans, as well as fun facts about what life was like when the town was founded. She has many props and great maps. She must have a teacher background. Being a teacher of young kids myself, she seemed to know all the tricks to keep them entertained and learning. My boys both enjoyed it. The only thing I was disappointed in was that there wasn't a bit more walking around. I would have liked her to show them a little more of the French Quarter, even if we only walked around Jackson Square a bit. Otherwise, I would have preferred it to be closer to one hour and a little bit cheaper. It was one of the most expensive things we did while in NOLA.
Unlike most of our trips, this one was unplanned. Considering that NOLA is not your first choice kids destination, I was thrilled when I came across this tour company specializing on tours for kids and decided to give it a try. Well, it exceeded all my expectations! Jill, the owner and tour guide, is absolutely amazing with kids. She wheels her cart full of props for the duration on the tour and kids simply love everything she takes out. We did the spooky tour, so they searched for ghosts measuring energy and temperature levels, walked around with swords like pirates, and even made a spell. And all of that, while still learning about New Orleans and its history. If time allowed, I would’ve booked more tours with Jill, especially the Creole one. Not that often my kids are actually asking to go on a tour!!! And I can go on and on about how good this one was. Do check them out!
It's is an amazing opportunity for kids to look around and enjoy and learn new things. We took both tours (Spooky and Creole) and both of them were equally fabulous!
We foiund this online. Have a 10 year old who is very mature, but spooks easily. We tried to sign up for the creole kids tour but it was sold out, so, with some concern booked the "spooky kids tour" for 5-10 year olds. We were concerned the tour would either be "too scary" or 'too lame". As it turned out we had 4 kids aged 4 to 5, and our 10 yr old- not ideal, I thought, The tour guide / owner Jill, did a great job of engaging both age groups, not an easy task. Nothing about it was scary. Jill presented everything about the spirit world and voodoo as being very cool and a bit mysterious, and threw in enough "ghost catching" props to keep the kids fully engaged.. As one of the tag along grownups on the tour, I learned alot about New Orlens history as well, Highly recommended.
We booked the Creole Kids tour. This tour was definitely a highlight of the trip. Jill did an excellent job engaging all the kids of different ages. We really enjoyed learning about the history of the city and what it was like to be a child/young adult back in the 1800s. I would recommend this to anyone with young kids. We'd certainly book again!
Both of my children (now age 6 and 8) have taken tours with Ms Dresser over the past several years and they keep wanting to come back and do it again. They've now gone on the creole kids tour, the creepy crescent tour, as well as her special holiday tour for Halloween. I can't recommend these tours enough. The kids will love it and the adults will learn a great deal as well.
