This was an amazing experience. My favorite part was the Butterfly emporium, it was absolutely beautiful. My children enjoyed seeing the penguins being fed as well as touching the stingrays. It was definitely a great experience.

Itinerary
Take a peek beneath the surface with a visit to the reimagined, state-of-the-art Audubon Aquarium in New Orleans. Marvel at more than 3,600 animals from over 250 species in an AZA-accredited aquarium voted one of the top five aquariums in the USA Today 10 Best reader poll. Make your own way to the aquarium, which is adjacent to the French Quarter. Once inside, explore a vast underwater world spanning the Caribbean and the Amazon Rainforest to the waters that give New Orleans its lifeblood: the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico. Touch sharks and stingrays in the Shark Discovery Touch Pool, and enter a 30-foot-long tunnel to admire aquatic creatures of all shapes and sizes as they swim through the Great Maya Reef habitat. In the Amazon Rainforest gallery, discover lush plant life, free-flying birds, stunning aquatic species such as piranhas and pacus, an anaconda snake, and much more. Feel amazed by the aquarium’s largest exhibit, the 450,000-gallon Gulf of Mexico habitat.

Absolutely beautiful aquarium! Loved everything about it. It was also very educational. Would highly recommend
It was difficult with the tickets if you don't show up at the opening of the aquarium. They mark your passes as past and you can't access them. The staff were amazing and let us in anyway. We were there for hours. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. I ate a cricket cookie, played with penguins through the glass and petted sting rays. It was well worth the money.
Both the zoo and aquarium/insectarium had fun, interactive displays! It was great for kids and adults.
A pretty good size for the price! Lots of exhibits and more animals than fish. Wish the gulf exhibit was bigger!
The Gulf of Mexico is labeled incorrectly. You have to walk all the way around the building, to the river side to enter. It was fun to eat a bug!
The exhibits were easy to look at the atmosphere was nice, being an older couple there were plenty of seats to sit and rest.
We enjoyed the insectarium and aquarium immensely. It is worth every penny to go through at your leisure and explore. The extra experience, at no cost, of petting sting rays was amazing and such a calming experience. The staff were amazing and knowledgeable. If we were residents, this would be on our regular rotation!
Our entire family enjoyed connecting with nature. We had one family member focussed on the insects and sharing knowledge with us that we didn't know. Another family member kept wanting to make aquariums and putting jelly fish in them and finally, half of our family ate insects and liked them.
We spent a couple of hours looking at the exhibits. ................................................
This is more than aquarium. We really enjoyed the insectarium as well as the aquarium. A friend told us that their daughter didn’t like this aquarium (maybe because of the bugs?) but we loved it and had a blast!
We really enjoyed the butterfly garden and insectorium! Loved getting a free sample of a Cajun cricket to eat.
Great place to go and the staff was nice
Learned more about the importance of insects for our environment than I ever realized. Fascinating to watch how they industriously navigate their worlds and contribute to the survival of ours. The aquarium part was entertaining, but not as immersive as the Insectarium. Nice to see the variety of sea creatures and how they interact.
We absolutely loved it . The only thing is I wished there were people around the big aquarium to explain things .
Loved the Aquarium + Insectarium combo! The animals seemed pretty happy with their habitats. Educational.
Very informative. Good experience for adults and for children's. Staff was very pleasant and provided a lot of information
A nice way to escape the heat while learning something new, Loved the butterflies. Do not miss it if you are around
My partner and I had a lovely time at the aquarium and very much enjoyed their jellyfish exhibits and seeing the sting rays and penguins. We were also very pleased with the cheaper price that Viator offered. It was a fun little daytime excursion that was a nice break from the heat and humidity.
It was clean, nice, and educational. Small but plenty to see. Employee’s were nice and friendly and the Cafe Aqua had decent options and the food was good.
It's kind of small, it's nothing special. It's okay, but we were a little disappointed that there was not too much to it. Overall, though I would say, if you're interested in aquariums, you probably would enjoy checking this out, especially if you have children, they will like it
Very kid forward. You’ll see a lot of kids reactions to wondrous things. I wish there was something a little more adult forward. Maybe a quiet space for adults to sit and look. Can there be more spots to sit and rest? For adults to rest their backs and knees. Beautiful, clean, interactive, educational
Great price! Lots of amazing displays. We really enjoyed both aquarium and insectorium. Recommend. Kids there had a great time. And butterflies were great!
If you have a few hours, this was a great way to spend it. They did a beautiful job inside. Tanks were gorgeous. Super clean, great variety. Stop by if you get a chance
We enjoyed Insectarium and the Aquarium; we had so much fun!! We played a team member game; everyone had to select one aquatic animal that represents the workplace personality of a team member.
Staff isn’t friendly. Almost all of them with the exception of the young woman in the last gift shop Were on their phone not speaking to guest.
Beautiful aquarium and insectarium. The butterfly room is my favorite, so beautiful and peaceful watching them fly around. Petting the stingrays was also fun and unique. I love it being able to interact with such graceful creatures.
Way over priced for experience.
The aquarium and insectarium are small, but their exhibits are some of the best I’ve ever seen. The butterflies are breathtaking—there are so many of them flying freely around you. You can explore and see so much there. I would allow about 3–4 hours for a visit.
Great experience! A lot of variety of animals to see. The kids loved it! Love the butterfly exhibit and the stingray tank the most!
Me and my friend had a really nice time!!! The Aquarium was very amazing and getting to see all those different creatures!!! Staff was very friendly!!! and willing to answer any questions that you had!!!
Outstanding experience and well worth the admission fee. I would do it again. It rivals the Atlanta Aquarium but New Orleans has some really nice smaller exhibits and the insectarium was amazing.
Very small aquarium. I love the interactive part with stingray and shark. They start off with you having to go through a shop and finish with you having to go through a different shop. Thought the insectarium cafeteria was very creative but also eew . Cafeteria forgot to make our food . Then left out items.
Great experience. Insectarium had many different species and good displays
Viator saved us over $40 on a family of 4 adults and 2 small children. We spent about 2.5 hrs touring the aquarium and insectarium. Pictures are taken as you enter, but can be purchased after the Insectarium with "bugs" background or after the aquarium with fish and sharks background. Pictures are $30. We enjoyed ourselves immensely!!
The aquarium was great and there was much to see. Went here on a date and I think my date liked it more than me lol! It was perfect and finding these tickets cheaper on Viator was a steal! So happy I kept looking for discounts. These tickets gave me no trouble at all which was something I was worried about, but the QR code worked just fine. 10/10 do recommend!
Had a wonderful time. A great attraction, not to miss. The butterfly room was a treat and the food at the cafe was also very tasty.
The Aquarium is a great adventure, air conditioned, and definitely worth visiting. I actually enjoyed the insectarium, and thought the marine exhibits were well displayed. And there are two restaurants !
Great site! Highly recommend!
Beautiful interesting place. I wasn’t ready for the butterfly vault😊 I learned a lot things I had no clue about. We will be back
Kids loved it from start to finish! Very interactive and engaging. Worth every penny & got the zoo tickets as well.
The ticket prices were extremely affordable The Aquarium was so nice staff was informative and welcoming food was also great my entire little family had a great day !
This is nothing like I remember as a child! Where are the large fish tanks? Gators, turtles, dolphins, sharks etc no where to be found. The exhibit felt like a google slideshow not worth it at all. Plus we had to pay for parking. Never again
Everything was great ! But the only error they made was to scan all my tickets. When 1 adult and 2 children didn’t show up. I would like to get my money back for those tickets. Other than that it was amazing!!! i would go back eventually.
I appreciate the discounted price. The Aquarium is on the smaller size so discount helped justify the cost.
Facility itself is nice but just not a lot of area for the price we paid- we did every exhibit/activity and were in and out within the hour. Ticket price plus $20+ to park was just too much.
This surprisingly was not a lot of stuff to look at however, the things that were there were beautiful. I guess it’s worth the money you pay just not as much stuff as the zoo has but it’s inside and it’s cool so it’s OK to do during the summer overall it was beautiful. you can touch stingrays.
Great experience the whole family would enjoy this time. Fun for adults and children wanting to learn about aquatic life
Good for family with kids very nice facilities and cafe. I would recommend for all family members to come.
If your child has an uncontrolled fear of insects near her or him, DON'T go into the butterfly enclosure! Or at least be ready for one grandparent to make a quick exit with the child to avoid trauma and drama. Otherwise, everyone enjoy many things. Well, in the case of the teenager, at least one thing, and that was the virtual experience (of course). Pricey but nicey. We'd take our grandchildren again. We stayed three hours and didn't even realize it.
