My stay at The Jung Hotel was honestly a mixed experience. The hotel and the room itself are nice and have a lot of potential, but there were several issues that made the stay disappointing and definitely not up to the standard I expected. First, I want to recognize the staff members who were great. Monique at the front desk was very nice and helpful when checking us in. Dakota was also extremely welcoming, friendly, and funny, and made us feel comfortable. Melissa, the manager, was also very nice and professional. I also want to recognize the shorter gentleman who works the door/valet during the morning/day shift, because he was helpful and pleasant as well. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for some of the other staff. Nikita, who was working the night shift at the front desk, was extremely unprofessional. When we needed assistance, she wasn’t even at the front desk. She was outside sitting in her personal truck on her phone. When I walked up to ask for help, she gave me an attitude and made me feel like I was disturbing her. As a paying guest, I shouldn’t feel like I’m inconveniencing an employee simply by asking for assistance. The rest of the doorman/valet staff were also disappointing and could definitely use improvement in customer service. As far as the room, it was nice overall, but the details were lacking. The sheets didn’t properly fit the mattress, and the utensils provided in the executive suite were filthy. The television/cable also did not work and has now been out for two days. Maintenance was sent to our room to evaluate the TV, and instead of actually having a solution, the maintenance employee recommended that we “just go to the French Quarter.” That was honestly shocking. Guests are paying for a hotel room and its amenities; telling us to leave the hotel and go to the French Quarter because the TV isn’t working isn’t an acceptable solution. Overall, The Jung has a lot of potential. The room itself is nice and there are some genuinely great employees here, especially Monique, Dakota, Melissa, and the morning/day-shift gentleman at the door/valet. However, the lack of professionalism from certain staff, cleanliness issues in an executive suite, and an amenity as basic as working television/cable being unavailable for multiple days really brought the experience down. For the price and the type of hotel The Jung presents itself to be, I expected much better.

Unfortunately, our experience at The Jung Hotel during our five-night stay from August 10–15 was extremely disappointing. Our television/cable service went out around 1:00 AM on August 12. The hotel posted a notice at the front desk stating that there was a Cox outage and that service should be restored after 2:00 PM. However, the service remained out well beyond that time. We completely understand that a Cox outage itself may be outside of the hotel’s control. What made this experience unacceptable was how the situation was handled. When we went to the front desk for assistance, there was initially no employee at the desk. The employee was outside sitting in her car on the phone. When she eventually came inside, we felt that we were met with a very unpleasant and dismissive attitude while simply trying to get assistance. My boyfriend was then given approximately seven different room keys and had to go back and forth himself checking different rooms to see whether their televisions worked. None of the rooms he checked had working service. We were eventually moved to another room, only to discover that the television there didn’t work either. We were also told that many rooms in the hotel did not have working television/cable service while some rooms had fully functioning service with all channels. This was confusing considering the issue had initially been explained simply as a Cox outage. I emailed hotel management twice regarding everything that occurred and received no response to either email while we were still staying at the hotel. The following morning, we spoke with a different front-desk supervisor who was much more professional. She apologized for our previous encounter and provided us with a complimentary drink card for the hotel bar, which we appreciated. She also told us Cox was expected to come to the hotel that day to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, when we returned later and spoke with the night manager, we were informed that the television/cable service was still out. Again, the outage itself isn’t the main reason for this review. Things happen that hotels cannot control. The bigger issue was the lack of communication, having a guest run around testing televisions in approximately seven rooms, being moved without the problem being resolved, the initial customer-service experience, and receiving no response from management after two emails. For a five-night vacation, having this issue continue for such a significant portion of our stay was frustrating. A complimentary drink was a nice gesture, but considering everything we went through trying to get such a basic room amenity addressed, I expected much better communication and follow-up from hotel management.
I'll get the good part out the way first. Very nice hotel, rooms are amazing very spacious and all. Front desk guy was very nice and overall a nice person. Great location within walking distance of the French Quarters. One of the best hotels ive stayed at down there. Now we did Valet park, which was pricey next time we won't do that. We arrived with a car charger and left without one. If that makes sense, we only drove the car to the hotel and never moved it until we checked out. Once we got into our vehicle we realized the charger was GONE, the young man who escorted us to our vehicle to get our medication, I hope the charger blew your port out, when you plugged it in the wall. You were given a tip and everything so im confused as to why would you take a damn charger. Smdh
I liked the rooms as it had a washer and dryer like a studio apartment also had kitchen and fridge. Very convenient. Location is ok. The entrance is on the side of like an alley street. I came at night and felt a little unsafe. The security guard was very welcoming and nice. I tried their breakfast buffet, the French toast was delicious and host/waitress was super friendly and nice.
My stay at the Jung Hotel was fantastic, and I couldn't have been happier with the experience. The rooms are incredibly huge and spacious, giving you more than enough room to relax and spread out after a long day of exploring the city. The location is also perfect, it offers great proximity to the excitement of Bourbon Street and the French Quarter, making it super convenient to walk or hop on the streetcar to get to all the action. To top it all off, the check-in process was an absolute breeze. The staff was efficient and welcoming, making it incredibly easy to get settled in right away. Highly recommend if you're looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in NOLA!
