Edit - had to add on to my review and drop to 4, if you are here on a weekend, ask to not be placed in room 201 and not on this side of the hotel. The Club is directly below this room and the room is shaking due to the bass from the DJ. It’s very loud and unfortunately we have a flight out at 6am. We are unable to sleep and the front desk said it goes until about 11:30. We will see! It would have been nice to know this beforehand. Hotel Saint Vincent is one of the most amazing hotels I’ve ever stayed in! The vibe is absolutely incredible—chic, unique, and full of character at every turn. Rich in history yet incredibly relaxing, it’s the perfect place to unwind while still being close to everything. I especially loved taking a stroll along Magazine Street. Such a beautiful and memorable stay!

Could be the best AC in the city! NO in August is insanely hot, my room was like a beautiful Victorian meat locker, lol. Large, beautiful room. Bordering on opulent. Attentive and friendly staff. The restaurant was excellent, try the smoked turkey club. Truffle fries on point.
I recently stayed at Hotel Saint Vincent while attending a business event, and overall it was a memorable experience with a few standout highlights and some minor drawbacks. First, the hotel itself has a lot of character. The rooms strike a unique balance between modern style and classic design—especially the tilework, which gives them a distinctive, almost vintage charm while still feeling fresh and well-appointed. Everything felt thoughtfully curated rather than generic, which I appreciated. The rooms were quiet and despite being fully booked, I never heard any other people from my room. During my stay, a storm came through one of the nights. While that’s obviously out of the hotel’s control, it definitely added an unexpected element to the trip. Despite the weather, the property felt solid and safe, and operations seemed to continue relatively smoothly given the circumstances. The fire alarm went off before the tornado warnings which was good for awareness but I felt it made the weather more alarming than needed. One thing that also occurred was I had to move rooms because my booking agency screwed up the length of stay, the front desk was gracious about the mix-up and I was sad to leave my larger room for a smaller one but it worked out. Food and beverage options were strong overall. Elizabeth’s Café was a standout—excellent quality food with more reasonable pricing compared to the hotel bar. It was a great option for casual meals without sacrificing taste. In contrast, the bar inside the hotel is nice but significantly pricier. The pool area is a pleasant amenity. It’s not particularly large, but it never felt crowded during my stay, which made it easy to relax. The poolside bar is a great touch—beers at around $6 are fair, though cocktails climb to about $20 after tip, which feels a bit steep even for a hotel setting. As part of the business event, the catered food was very high quality and full of flavor. That said, some dishes leaned a bit too salty for my taste. Still, the overall execution and presentation were impressive, especially for an event setting. Overall: Hotel Saint Vincent offers a stylish and comfortable stay with great dining options and a relaxed atmosphere. While pricing at the bar and slight over-seasoning at catered events are worth noting, the unique design, solid amenities, and strong café experience make it a property I’d recommend—especially for business travelers looking for something with personality.
TLDR: Beautiful hotel, but our room wasn’t ready until 4pm (and still had previous guests’ trash), the pool was closed all afternoon for VIPs, no late checkout, and a surprise $27 fee at checkout (which they waived) We stayed on a Sunday and, sadly, won’t be returning. There’s so much good here, which honestly makes this more disappointing. I was really excited to stay and did enjoy parts of it. Kenny was a standout, very helpful and kind. The cocktails at the lounge were great (bird of paradise + carajillo), and the room itself is a vibe with good linens. Heads up: bring a light if you plan to do makeup or anything, the bathroom is very dim But the issues added up. We arrived just before noon hoping for early check-in, but no luck. Which is fine. We came back at 3pm for standard check-in… and the room still wasn’t ready. We ended up waiting around until 4pm. When we got in, there was a partially drank minibar bottle on the dresser. We told the front desk, and they apologized. But no one ever came to remove it, so it just stayed there The next morning, I asked for a late checkout, but it wasn’t available. I had the free drip coffee in the chapel room (had some non-dairy options). I had hoped for a pool day, but got a text that it was closed for the afternoon for VIPs. Really bummed about that. At checkout, we were told there was “a charge due” on our account: a $27 destination fee that took me aback, as this was the first mention of that. I flagged everything we’d experienced, and while they did waive the fee and apologized, that was the extent of their response. So… I’m conflicted. It’s a beautiful hotel in a great location (easy access to the St. Charles streetcar), and there are genuinely great touches. But the service gaps and how they handled them are disappointing. If you’re VIP here, I imagine it’s great. If not, I’d probably spend your money elsewhere.
I had an outstanding experience at San Lorenzo, largely thanks to Maddie, our exceptional host. Her customer service is truly outstanding—warm, polished, and genuinely thoughtful. From the moment I arrived, Maddie made me feel incredibly welcome. She was professional yet approachable, taking the time to share helpful insights about the St. Vincent Hotel, upcoming events, and membership opportunities in a way that felt personal and unforced. Maddie embodies everything one hopes to encounter at a luxury property: attentiveness, warmth, and effortless professionalism. She elevated the entire visit and set the standard for a truly first-class guest experience. Management should know what a remarkable asset she is to both San Lorenzo and the St. Vincent Hotel.
