Beautiful Building, Disappointing Experience The building is beautiful, and I truly appreciate all the history. However, the experience has been less than I expected from a luxury hotel. Valet parking could use some improvement. I witnessed a valet pull out onto the one-way street in front of an oncoming car that nearly hit him, followed by another close call where he almost got T-boned making a right turn at the light. The AC and heating system is a whole experience in itself! I feel like I’m in a real-life menopause simulator. If the temperature goes up one degree, the AC kicks on; if it drops one degree, the heat comes on. During LMCI training, everyone was constantly putting jackets on and taking them off as the conference room went from hot to freezing in seconds. My room is the same way, resulting in little to no sleep because I’m constantly waking up hot or freezing, pulling the covers on and off all night. With three more nights to go, I’ll probably have bronchitis by the time I leave! Several of us are already dealing with sinus issues and stuffy noses from the constant temperature changes. There are no microwaves in the rooms. Huge Inconvenience. On my first day, I went to the front desk to check on my credit card authorization and discovered they didn’t even have my reservation or check-in on record, despite me already having stayed overnight in an assigned room. Because of this, my room wasn’t cleaned, and I received no fresh towels that day. The bathrooms are small, and the tubs are worn and rusty. I was genuinely excited to stay here, expecting a luxury experience, but unfortunately, the beautiful building and history are the highlights so far. Hopefully, the remaining three nights will be better! There are about 60-70 other ladies attending this conference/training with me, Who are having similar experiences as mine. Their reviews will be posted by the end of the week.

Rooms were a little dated, but the atmosphere was fine. Wanted to give a special shout-out to Kelvin, who recommended a great place for dinner, the Capitol City Grill. I think the only other issue we had was that the breakfast buffet was VERY expensive. I'm talking about 164 dollars before tip for a family of 5. That's on me though for not checking the price before we sat down. The location was perfect for walking on the waterfront or in downtown. We felt very safe at night in the downtown area too.
My family and I recently stayed at this location for four nights right before the fourth of July. We picked this hotel for the location and amenities available since this was going to be a longer stay for us. However, when we arrived we were told that two of the amenities were not available. The pool was closed for 2 days of our trip and the executive lounge had been closed for over a year. Why is that even an option still on their booking if it has been closed for over a year? We were told to ask for a complementary upgrade by the Hilton staff member when we chatted with someone in the Hilton app earlier in the day on the day of our arrival, but when we arrived we were told that did not exist either. We finally got our room situation taken care of (after checking in at midnight and it taking well over 30 minutes) only to arrive at our room and encounter more issues. The room was very humid, had a weird smell and there was loud noise that kept occurring. We tried to get some sleep and addressed this with the staff the next morning. We were told we were checked out of one of our rooms as the staff member who checked us in did not enter it into the system correctly. After another 30 minutes of taking care of this with the front desk and us being told that both housekeeping and maintenance would come to address our issues we thought we were good. Except, they never came. Not one during the trip. So we dealt with the humidity, noises, and dirt that was in our room. The only reason the score was as high as it was is due to the valet team. They were always super friendly, helpful and smiling when we arrived or needed our car. The views were nice as it is right on the river and when we got to use the salt water pool it was great too. I do not think that we would stay here again if we visited as there just were not enough positives for us to warrant giving them another try.
Not worth $120 a night. I thought Hilton was better. It’s sad to see a nice location with key staff that care more about their phone then helping clients. When I asked the lady at the front desk for help with the self service kiosk at the food store in house. she said, Sir, This isn’t my job it’s yours, figure it out on your own. ( As she sat on her phone with no one around clearly not attending to any hotel business). I said, I tried ma’am would you please help me use the system? She came over with an attitude and adjusted several things and said this is how you do it. Figure out the rest on your own. If I went to a Motel 6 I would expect this. But I’m not ok with this level of sever at a hotel that considers them self a 3 star.
An elegant, sophisticated hotel with timeless charm, however, the urine smell was a turnoff. It took some of the charm away! The rooms and beds were very comfortable. A microwave on the floor, but not in the room and that was fine too! The staff was accommodating, very friendly and helpful! Breakfast was delicious and well prepared. The bartender knew is quality liquor, and served us well. Thanks for a great time.
