Zodiac Whale Watch With Marine Biologist In Cabo San Lucas

It was the end of the whale season so we weren’t sure if we were going to see any whales. We saw plenty of whales. It was spectacular!!!

I booked this tour last minute at the front desk, and the staff were friendly and easy to work with. I had originally considered another option with a smaller restroom, but since this tour departed earlier, I decided to go with it. They provide restroom tickets, so you can use the facilities before and after the tour. There were only five guests on our tour, which made it feel more personal. Our guide, Dome, was very knowledgeable about whales, and we all learned a lot. Captain Kevin expertly navigated the boat and quickly sped toward any whale sightings. Although it was near the end of whale season, we still saw a lot of whales. They also provide photos after the tour, so you can enjoy more close-up shots of the whales. Dome and Captain Kevin made the tour perfect—highly recommend!

This tour was absolutely amazing. The guide was very professional and knowledgeable, and it made the experience even better to listen to the explanations while watching the whales. They made sure to keep a safe distance so the whales would not be stressed, while still allowing us to see them clearly and up close. You could really tell they respected the animals and prioritized their well-being. Overall, it was such a great experience, and I would definitely do this tour again if I visit los Cabos in the future.

Took the family whale watching late in the season. The guide did her best to moderate expectations as it is late season and the whales aren't as active because they're fasting, conserving energy to head north, etc. but the whales weren't having any of it. They put on a show for us with plenty of tail slapping and full body breaches. The captain is in constant communication with other boats and quickly took us to active sightings. The guide was fluent enough to answer questions and keep young ones entertained - "Do the whales that aren't mating or birthing this season still migrate to Cabo, or do they stay behind in Alaska?" "They can't stay in Alaska because they would get stuck under the ice and drown." Late season whale watching around Cabo San Lucas is still whale watching in Cabo and there are plenty of mothers and calves still around. Whale Watch Cabo will make sure you see them. Be sure to take lots of pictures and videos, the more the better.

5 Stars! Andre was extremely accommodating after a taxi drove over my leg on the way to our whale cruise. I alerted him and he immediately postponed our place on that morning’s cruise. He called back inquiring about my health and rescheduled the cruise for the rest of my family. Super courteous!

We loved the speed and thrill of the zodiac tour. Our biologist was informative and excellent. The photos being included takes the pressure off of taking your own pictures and allows you to just experience the excitement. A wonderful tour. Had the added feature of actually hearing the whales sing.

Dominique was our guide and her marine biologist background was an added bonus! Her ability to give us information and take amazing photos and help Kevin the captain was amazing multi tasking! Kevin did an excellent job driving the boat in somewhat rough waters. Having the photos to download at home as part of the tour was great! We were able to watch the mother and calf humback whale jump and swim for over an hour! We appreciated that they stay a safe distance away for the whales.

Respectful of the whales, well versed biologist! We saw a couple of mamas and calves and a few males. The Zodiac ride was rough, but fun!

Our guide and captain were very knowledgeable and gave us a great experience. They had seen orcas earlier in the day so not as many humpbacks. We did see a baby doing some head flaps so that was fun. The guide took pictures with a zoom lens so should get those soon! Highly recommend and they do practice ecotourism.

One of the best tours we’ve ever been on ! We saw multiple Humpbacks , orcas, and stingrays . The mother humpback and baby treated us to full breaches as mom taught baby how to flip and jump. Breathtaking . The zodiac is fast paced and occasionally bumpy , but the captain was safe and professional at all times , you are completely in good hands . Javi was sharp ,knowledgeable , and most importantly passionate about her knowledge of whales and the local environment . Theres still hope for our planet when you meet people like her who remind us we need to live alongside these beautiful creatures . She answered all of our questions and provided us with rare insight into the whale world . This is your tour if you want an adventure at sea

We had 3 whales breaching and following off to the side of our small boat. Jo is very knowledgeable and took great pictures that she sent to us.

I booked this last minute for my daughter and I after Viator screwed us over another whale watching adventure and we couldn’t have been happier . This zodiac was the perfect size to get super close to the whales and we lucked out and our boat was half full. We found 2 pods w baby humpbacks and got some great vids and shots . 2 hours is the perfect time as well. Would highly recommend!

This was my second visit to Cabo San Lucas, and with the amazing team at Whale Watch Cabo. They are the experts when it comes to finding humpback whales in February in and around the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean. I went on three different trips with them in the four days I was visiting the area. One of my goals was to do the one day gray whale watching trip to Puerto Chale and it was amazing! We saw over 30 gray whales, and the trip was organized very nicely, including comfortable, transportation and lunch. I also did one morning and one afternoon zodiac tour where we saw so many whales breaching at one point I lost count. Also saw a mom humpback and her baby. An added highlight was dropping the hydrophone down and hearing four different male humpback whales singing. I am planning on returning in February next year and cannot wait to be with their incredible team of biologists and boat captains again.

This method of whale watching is a must!!! We had such a great experience, water was beautiful, fantastic weather, knowledgeable guide who volunteered to take our family photo in front of the “Arch”, And we saw several whales!!!

Book this trip! It’s incredible! Easy to book, easy to find the office, quick walk to the boat. But the tour itself? Unforgettable ! Our guide was so passionate and knowledgeable about whales, and each behaviour and pattern she explained, we saw! So many whales, including a mother with baby and escort. We heard them sing, saw them breach and jump, everything you could ask for.

We had a wonderful experience on this tour! The tour guide was a veterinarian that was an expert on Marine mammals. She was very knowledgeable and very professional, the driver of the boat was also very professional. We love that they respected the whales and their environment. We would 10/10 do this same tour again!

We had a great time. We saw lots of whales! The guide was knowledgeable and compassionate for the whales. We were on an 8 AM tour at the beginning of March and saw four whales jump out of the water.

Such an amazing experience. We were lucky enough to have Oscar as our guide. He is so knowledgeable about the marine life not just in Cabo but also had great info about the whales in general. We had the italian tour guide, she was good. We saw very few whales, it was disappointing. I felt like we chased the same 2 whales all over the ocean. Maybe it was just a bad day. The 2 whales we saw were gorgeous.

We have been coming to Los Cabos in February for 15 years. We go on a whale watch every year even though we watch whales from our balcony and beach. We've used two other tour companies over the years but this year we decided to choose a different one. I am so glad that we did. Whale Watch Cabo was gave us an amazing tour. Now mind you, the tour company has absolutely no control over what you will see on your tour so you certainly can't judge them on that. Our marine biologist guide, Josephine (Joe) and captain, Kevin, were simply incredible. Joe has been doing this all of her life. She wanted to work with whales since she was six years old. She was a wealth of information and was excited to share all of it with us. We were incredibly lucky enough to follow a very large humpback whale for most of our tour. He was very playful and put on quite a show for us. We lost count of how many times he breached. Just breathtaking! Them Joe did something that no other tour company has done in the 15 years we've gone on tours. When the whale had finished his performance and moved on, Joe waited until all the other boats left the area. When it was very quiet she dropped a microphone into the water under the boat. Our whale hadn't moved on! He was still quite close and was singing! I've heard recordings of whales before but actually hearing one that we'd been watching for over 40 minutes singing to us was a once in a lifetime experience. Their were around 10 of us on the tour and we were all in awe of what we were experiencing. Joe and Kevin were just as spellbound as we were. It was an experience I'll never forget. If you're looking for the best whale watch in Cabo, this is it! Ask for Joe as a guide. All of the pictures Joe took on the tour were included with our ticket! And as an icredible added bonus we got the recording of the serenade. You'll have memories for life!

We had an incredible surprise on our whale watching tour. We actually saw orcas, which is apparently quite rare in Cabo! We also witnessed a baby humpback breaching, making it an absolutely unforgettable experience. Our marine biologist guide, Joséphine, shared fascinating facts about the whales and was so genuinely passionate about her work. It really added so much to the trip. The atmosphere on the boat was fantastic, everyone was thrilled. Being in a small group meant we all got excellent views without anyone missing out. We highly recommend Whale Watch Cabo. They are truly respectful of the whales, extremely knowledgeable, and genuinely focused on delivering an amazing, memorable experience. Also, the fact that you get the pictures after the tour helps you savor the moment instead of seeing it through a phone.

We saw SO many beautiful whales all while maintaining appropriate boundaries & distance from the whales. Our guide, Victoria, was the BEST: friendly, funny and extremely knowledgeable.

Our guide provided lots of great information to help us understand more about the whales and it was really nice being up close to see these beautiful majestic creatures. You get a whole new perspective when you see them breach out of the water, slap their tails or waive their flippers, they are such big, beautiful, animals. It was definitely worth doing the tour, you get to see so much more in the boat than what you see from shore. The tour also visits the Cabo Arch which is a nice bonus.

what a breathtaking experience for not just my wife and i but my children. josephine and hector ‘the protector’ were incredible guides and we were lucky enough to take in views of these magnificent creatures that we will remember forever. josephine handled every question from a 7 year you could imagine with poise and patience and never once lost the room, smashed was a testament of her basque upbringing! hector ‘playfully’ let our kids pretend they were the captain in the most joyous way. what a pair of guides they are! i’ve done so many tours over the years but none have blown us away like this. incredible. i wish i could write well enough to properly describe it. cheers to josephine and hector!

Josephine taught us so much about whales, their habitat, migrations, and challenges. Take her advice…let her worry about the photographs so that you can fully immerse yourself in the experience. Nice experience! The guide explained us a lot of interesting things about whales behavior. We saw them really close from the zodiac and it was amazing see them jumping.

From start to finish this was a too notch tour, with an extremely knowledgeable marine biologist Oscar! Numerous humpback whale sittings with stellar breaching, and a mom with her baby. So incredibly fun and definitely will do this again when in Cabo!

Booking a whale watching tour with Whale Watch Cabo was a great choice! Josephine and Kevin did a fantastic job locating the whales. We found ourselves far away from all the other little boats but stayed a respectful distance away. As a team they used the experience as a teaching opportunity. Spending time with a small group (our group was six) on the zodiac with a professional biologist made the trip worth it. We listened with a microphone to the whales calling to each other (very emotional) and the free photos Jo took were gorgeous. We were able to focus on the experience rather than our cell phones. Highly recommend this tour if you have a choice in Cabo San Lucas!

This was a great tour—very well organized trip. Oscar our guide was very pleasant and very knowledgeable about whales. He answered every question regarding whales that our group threw at him. We stopped at El Arco for a close up and pictures. We saw many whale breaches, lots of whale tails as they dove deep—it was enjoyable. I highly recommend. Beautiful day on the water.

Dome was an amazing, informative, and genuine guide. She was so fun and really cared, Kevin really wanted us to see whales and they worked well together. i learned a lot, had beautiful views and both saw a whale jump out of the water and listened to them. a lifelong memory and would go back out them the next time i visit cabo. much appreciated.

We have been out with Whale Watch Cabo four times in the last three days, and believe me when I tell you that every trip was a completely unique, wonderful experience! We’ve seen pods of racing male humpbacks, curious solo whales, and a momma/calf pair. There have been so many different behaviors to observe. Our captains have been highly skilled, and our guides (one veterinarian and one marine biologist, each with over 10 years guiding around humpback whales) have been fun and so informative! One of the key reasons we love this company, besides their infallible ability to put us on multiple whales every trip, is that the guides take pictures and videos with good quality equipment, and share them to your email a few days later. This allows us to focus on being in the moment and enjoying our time on the water without worrying about capturing pictures. We’ve been out with Whale Watch Cabo five times in total, and we’ve been pleased every time!

We have been going to Cabo San Lucas for 21 years, and have taken all manner of boats, large and small. This tour is the best small boat -- 9 passengers on this trip - and biologist and captain know how to find the whales! We went out into the Pacific a long way, and among other groups, followed a pair of males battling it out with jumping and splashing! Priceless.

Josephine is a marine biologist who knew her stuff. She and our captain got us close to numerous whales, which she said was unusual, but totally awesome!
