Whale Watching By Zodiac In Cabo San Lucas With Photos Included

We had a great whale watching outing with our family with daughters 8 and 6. It was the tail end of whale watching season (mid April) so I was concerned we would not find any whales. However, we were able to find a mama and baby whale along the coast halfway between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo and we trailed them at a distance for about an hour. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and informative about whales and their habits and migratory patterns etc. The boat is also pretty small so it felt like a more intimate experience and up and close with the whales. I think because it was the tail end of the season we lucked out to basically have a private tour for our family, which was great. That said, the boat ride was maybe a little bumpy at points when it was at high speed, but we all took Dramamine beforehand so we were good. The guide took a bunch of photos during the tour and promptly emailed them, which was great because they were so much better than what I caught with my iPhone since his camera had a huge telescopic lens.

Went on the whale watch this morning at 9:00am. Great to get out there before it gets too hot. Our guides did a fantastic job. I'm sorry that I don't remember the names but we have a photo. The tour was beautiful, exciting, educational and fun.... all rolled into one. We saw whales, dolphins and sea lions. I would highly recommend this group if you are going to whale watch.

This was such a great day! We saw several whales and learned so much about whales and marine life in the area and the zodiac was fun!

We waited for this experience for 3 hrs and only got a cancellation advise after 3 hrs of waiting, Very poor customer service both by Viator and provider. You ruined my vacation

Easy meeting spot, comfortable boat and knowledgeable guides. We lucked out and spotted a pod of False Killer Whales as well as Humpback.

Pepe was a very knowledgeable guide and we had such wonderful luck to see pods of whales… many. Several breaches very close. All in all a very memorable day. Use those company!!!!

Went with my family and we had an amazing experience. We saw tons of whales, full breaches, etc. Our guide, Pepe, was excellent. Very passionate about whales and shared so much great info about them. We even saw the cutest sea turtle up close. Highly recommend!

The experience was incredible! We saw at least 15 whales. The guide and the captain were very knowledgeable and engaging as well.

I can’t imagine a better experience. It was truly amazing. We found some whales that were incredibly active, teaching a baby to breathe and jump. And the snorkeling was great, too. Our guide and captain were so pleasant and knowledgeable. Excellent experience!! Photos are included, don’t have them yet but can’t wait to see them!

A great time out on the water. Just our family of four and we were able to see 10 whales including one breaching many times. The kids loved it and the captain and guide were great about pointing out different beaches and landmarks and very knowledgeable about whales.

This was SO worth it! Guide Razz and Captain José were perfect hosts. We saw numerous whales breaching and playing, a pod of dolphins, and many rays. Razz was unbelievably knowledgeable, fun, and engaging; it didn't feel like being lectured. He explained what we were seeing in real time and gave other interesting information in between sightings. He also answered any questions we had. These are small group tours, so you aren't fighting for a good view. He also took awesome (FREE) pictures, which he sends along later. We LOVED listening to the whale song and dolphin chatter on the hydrophone! That was our favorite part; it was so clear that we can hear it on my phone recording! There's nothing you'll regret by booking this!

Raciel and Jose, our driver, gave us an incredible experience out on the water. We spent the majority of our time watching one mother whale and her baby, and an escort whale who was with them. They were busy training the baby whale for life and for the huge migration north coming soon. Raciel taught us all a lot, and we felt that the tour was very respectful of the whales. The boat is great - comfortable, smooth riding, and you feel very close to the water and life you are seeing. This is an excellent company and we enjoyed our tour immensely.

I'd give 10 stars if I could! Elizabeth helped me with booking and my many questions. She was extremely polite and helpful! We booked a private whale watching experience and couldn't be happier❤️ Jose was our captain and Pepe was our guide. The two were beyond friendly and sociable! You can tell this is more than just a job for them and that they truly love and care about the whales! My husband and I learned so much about them besides being able to enjoy their beauty and share their ocean with them for a bit❤️ Thank you all again for a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Absolutely unbelievable!! Everything we imagined. Raz and captain were the best. We saw so many whales during our trip. It was great to have someone take the pictures for us. The zodiac is the only way to do this trip. It turns on a dice, fast, super smooth, gets you away from the other boats. I can't say enough good things about this team and trip

Guides were educated but never really got close to the whales. We were also supposed to get pics and videos from our trip…we never received them. There’s several whale watching companies in Cabo…I’d suggest going with a different one.

Huge shoutout to Baja Vikings Ecoventures in Cabo San Lucas for another unforgettable adventure! 🐋 Last week our family went on their 2.5-hour whale watching trip and it was truly amazing. We saw so many whales during the trip! Our guide Camilla was incredibly knowledgeable and taught us so much — from how different whale species have different spout sprays, to how you can identify whales by their tails (which are like a fingerprint because each one is unique). She also explained different whale behaviors and how you can sometimes predict what they might do next. Her genuine love and passion for whales made the whole experience even more magical. This was actually our second trip with Baja Vikings Ecoventures. Our first trip with them was back in October, when we took a trip to the Arch where we also snorkeled with a group of friends, and it was just as fantastic. Our guides Liz and Mario shared so much about the history, geology, and biology of the area and were an absolute blast to spend the day with. If you’re in Cabo San Lucas and looking for an incredible experience on the water, we can’t recommend Baja Vikings Ecoventures enough. Truly a highlight of our trips! 🌊

Private tour was spectacular both the captain and are tour guide jose aka pepe where very insightful. Very friendly and courteous.

This excursion was amazing. The boat is small which makes it feel like an private excursion. Jorge was so knowledgeable and Jose was a wonderful boat captain as well as funny. The first stop was at the arch with education and some photos then headed into the ocean to find the whales. At one point they used a microphone to listen to the whales singing. The experience was so awesome. I wish I could go on this excursion everyday. A couple reasons that I chose this company was their purpose and how helpful Elizabeth was via email prior to arriving. I had many questions and she helped me sort out what I wanted to do on this trip. We also really want to help out the small businesses in the local areas. Another perk that made this excursion appealing was that they took pictures and it is all part of the cost. It allowed me to not worry if I caught a picture of a whale and just enjoyed watching them in their habitat. I'm anxious to see those photos! Tips: Do not arrive too early. We are a family who likes to be very early and it made us feel a little lost. I would say you would not need to arrive anymore 10 minutes early.

We had a great time! I appreciated all the info about whales we got. I also loved that we were respectful of the whales environment. Cammie was wonderful! I do feel like a whale ambassador now.

The guide and captain were extemely knowledgeable about whales. We saw plenty of tails, jumps and breaches. Definitely safe and easy to find.

Raz was very knowledgeable about the Whales & Cabo, also Professional and Friendly! Jose(whale whisperer) navigated the boat expertly to find the whales, also dolphins!

This tour was the highlight of our trip to Cabos. I do not usually write reviews but the tour guide Carlos and the driver were so amazing!! It was evident that they loved and respected the whales. This is their passion, not just a job. Highly recommend!!!

It was great to see the humpback whales so close and do it in a respectful manner for them. I would definitely recommend.

Booked online for sunset cruise. Directions to meeting point were easy to follow & we met our guide for the short walk to the waiting boat. The marina area is very busy with lots of boats & wildlife & we saw whales as soon as we left the marina. The guide & captain did a great job as experienced in their area of expertise. Lots of whales. Great afternoon out. Hope to see the photos soon.

I love the zodiac boats bc if you are lucky enough to have a whale surface near by you can appreciate it up close and realize just how big they are. We had a mom and a baby pop up near us. Beautiful sight. Johnny was a nice and informative guide. Took our pictures in front of the arc. Part of nature is also knowing some days will be better whale watching than others. Only issue was finding the meeting point B-20. Google had me walking in circles. The meeting point is not labled with the company name. It is in the window kiosks between Señor Frogs and the surfer monument. (Gregory tours is a cpl of windows from it). The kiosks face the Marina.

Our guide Pepe was passionate and knowledgeable and we saw more than a dozen whales. The experience exceeded our expectations, and I would highly recommend. The weather was perfect, and the small boat allowed us to get up close to the beautiful whales. We look forward to coming back and booking this excursion again.

We enjoyed this tour very much. The communication with the company and the meeting point was clear and easy to find. The crew was knowledgeable and went out of their way to help us have a good experience. We appreciated the photos that we received of the excursion. It helped us to focus on the activity rather than trying to take pictures.

Really easy to find the meeting spot. If on a cruise, only 2 minute walk. Small boat was perfect for a few groups. Pictures came about a week later and that was nice to not be trying to get all the photos (they have a nice big telephoto lens). We watched several groups of whales. Amazing natural behaviors.

Really awesome experience. I had a lot of questions before I booked and Liz was always very responsive and thorough. The meeting location was easy to find and our tour operator met us promptly on time. The other reservation did not show so our party of three ending up essentially having a private tour. Raz was a really fun guy. Extremely knowledgeable and gave us so much information throughout the tour. We loved that he told us not to worry about photos so we could enjoy the whales through our eyes. We saw many whales I don’t even have a count. The captain, Pedro was also terrific and they always respected these amazing creatures by not chasing them. When the whales were done with us we went and found others. The photos emailed were the icing on the cake!

Do not hesitate to book with this company! From start to finish they were great to deal with. Elizabeth was wonderful with questions and communications and our captain and guide were wonderful. Not only did we get to see so many whales full breaching but they provided a wealth of information about whales and Cabo in general. More importantly, they did not chase or harass the whales in any way, we just saw and watched. Absolutely amazing time!!!

The guide and tour were fabulous - knowledgable and impressed with their following recommended 'best practice' in making sure you weren't interfering with the whales and getting too close - I.e. chasing them like many boats do. A zodiac is definitely the way to go! The only reason for 4 vs 5 Stars is that they advertised photos would be taken so guests didn't have to be behind their lens. 3 weeks later, we have not received any communication or photos. Glad we took videos/photos on our adventure.

This is an amazing experience! It’s clear our guide Pepe is in love with his job and very effective too! He gave us so much information about the whales and the area. He took photos for us with a nice big camera. Our Captain was so good at getting us close to the whales without harassing them. It felt like a very personal, up close experience. The boat is comfortable and dry, an amazingly smooth ride considering we were on the open Pacific much of the time. We will remember this experience for a very long time and look forward to going again. Highly recommend!

Highly educated people about marine life and genuinely showed concern about being respectful of not being intrusive and yet able to position us so the curiosity of the mammals brought them to us. Would recommend over and over.

Meeting place has no name on the window. We found out from other vendors that they would come to pick us up there. Other boats got much closer, some too close. We would have line to be a little closer.

Fantastic time, Pepe and Jose were very knowledgeable and were extremely passionate about the trip. Had whales all around us. And even had two that hung out underneath the boat. Also I forgot to mention. My wife and I were the only ones on the trip. But that made no difference to the crew. They put out 150%. Just to ensure we were happy We saw so many whales I lost count easily 20 to 30. And as a final good bye had one do a full body out of water breach. This was a birthday present for me. One I will not soon forget. Very highly recommend

We had such a great time with Razz and Jose of Baja Vikings. You can tell they love what they do by the excitement they had with each whale siting. They were very knowledgeable and it was a great time. There are so many whale watching options in Cabo, but I’m so glad we chose this one. They were very careful in not getting to close to the whales and being respectful of their needs. They shared so much information and we got to see the arch as well! Everyone in my family had the best time from ages 6 to 63!

Baja Vikings Ecoventures was so easy to work with! We requested a sunrise whale watch and they accommodated us on short notice. Elizabeth was very responsive and attentive. Our captain and guide (Jose and Jose) were both PERFECT! We had such a great experience and would highly recommend this company. Our guide had so many wonderful stories and educational information and made the trip exciting and fun. Our captain knew just how to find the whales without scaring them away. We loved every minute! BY FAR - the best tour we've ever done. The guides were SO incredibly knowledgeable and highly entertaining. We were able to see about 12 different whales, all while being extremely mindful and respectful of their natural habitat. The highlight of our Christmas trip to Cabo.

What a great experience. The tour guides were amazing and shared information about Cabo history as well as whale and marine behavior. This group is very conscious of whale safety and respectful to their environment and surroundings. We followed a trio of whales for many miles which was beautiful and tranquil. Would definitely do it again!

This was definitely an experience we won’t forget. We followed 2 whales, saw one breach. Another sprayed us then swam under our boat, and Raz was just as excited as the rest of us. Raz is a wonderful guide with a lot of passion for his work. Loved every minute.

Was a nice experience on the water with Baja Viking. They were attentive with good information. Length of the tour was good. We saw several whales, including some breaching. The company also seemed to be more responsible in the positioning of their boat than other tour companies as to not bother the whales. I would recommend better signage on the departure location. Everyone on our group tour made it, however we arrived at the location first and there was no information in regards to the tour until the guide showed up at the unmarked meeting place approximately 10 minutes before the tour.

My sister and I had the BEST time of this tour. Our tour guide Raz (think that is how it's spelled) was super knowledgeable about these beautiful creatures and the local area. They were very mindful not to chase or harass the whales like you see other charters do, they read the whale's activity and study their behavior to provide a truly once in a lifetime experience. Our whale watching trip on NYE was an incredible way to wrap up 2025! Pepe and Jose were incredible guides and captains who helped us see many whales while also being respectful of the animals. They were very knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. We had so much fun that we might try to book another excursion before our trip is over! Definitely recommend joining these two for a couple hours!
