Great experience!! The staff did an amazing job on tracking whales and other sea mammals that we saw during our experience.

Itinerary
This Ocean Safari is built for travelers who want real exploration without giving up comfort. You depart from San Jose del Cabo aboard a stable and comfortable boat designed for long hours on the water. The ride stays smooth, there is shade and space to move, and the layout makes it easy to relax while scanning the horizon. The route is never fixed. Your guide reads the water, birds, and surface activity, following signs of life as they appear. Dolphins often arrive at the bow. Mobula rays may leap in groups. Whales, turtles, and pelagic fish move through these waters depending on the day. When conditions allow, you enter the water under close guidance to experience the ocean from within. This experience costs a bit more because it delivers more. More time searching, more comfort during long stretches at sea, fewer people, and decisions driven by conditions, not a schedule. It feels unhurried, intentional, and deeply rewarding. • What you may encounter Dolphins, mobula rays, whales, turtles, pelagic fish, whales, orcas • Experience style Exploratory, immersive, and led by ocean conditions Ask yourself this. Do you want to observe the ocean, or explore it as it unfolds.

Great experience in an amazing place. The staff were great and we saw a lot of ocean life. Highly recommended
just had the most incredible experience with Dip Expeditions on their Ocean Safari, and I can't recommend it enough. From start to finish, the entire trip was professional, high energy, and deeply respectful of the local marine life. Why It’s a Must-Do: The Marine Life: We saw orcas, and not much else all of the other animals where hifing from this apex predator. The guides have a "nature first" approach that makes the encounters feel authentic and ethical. The Crew: The team is clearly passionate about the Baja ecosystem. They aren't just boat captains; they are knowledgeable guides who share fascinating insights about the animals and the environment. Top-Notch Gear: Everything from the snorkeling equipment to the boat itself was clean, modern, and well-maintained, which made the day seamless. If you’re looking for a generic boat tour, go elsewhere. But if you want a true, raw, and educational adventure in Los Cabos, this is the one. It’s a 10/10 for me—I’ll definitely be back for another expedition! Tip for travelers: Make sure to bring reef-safe sunscreen and your GoPro—you’re going to want to capture these memories!
I frequent San Jose del Cabo as I have friends in this area, I paddle canoe at the veleros beach club, and visit at least 3-4x per year. This was the first trip I had a free day to go adventure solo and given the perfect conditions, thought this would be the best way to spend the day snorkeling in the open water. I realized the morning of my booking I was the only one reserved for the 130pm tour so I messaged ocean safari. No response. I went down to the dock as instructed in the confirmation email 15mins ahead of time to make sure I could find the "Chalupa I" boat in time. No one was anywhere near chalupa 1. Thankfully a couple friendly boat captains cleaning off their boats nearby as well as a deckhand saw me wondering and offered to help. They said they knew the owner and tried calling him. Unfortunately he did not answer. The deckhand even walked me up to the Marina guard who keeps cars from entering the marina unless permitted. The guard also confirmed no one from ocean safari was seen that day. He even called ocean safari (not sure who exactly he called) - again, no answer. I called ocean safari, no option to leave a VM. I immediately messaged viator who I booked through and frustratingly was told they had to confirm with ocean safari before refunding me. At this point it was 215pm. For being one of, if not THE most expensive open water snorkel guide out of San jose, the very least you can do is respond to someone who preemptively was seeking confirmation that we were still on as I recognize it wasn't intentionally a private charter. Shame on viator for "seeking confirmation" from an outfitter that was CLEARLY negligent. I chatted with 3 separate viator agents they all told me the same thing. Second one hung up on me. Although it's been over 24hrs, I've yet to hear from anyone. Not ocean safari, not viator, and the full charge remains billed to my credit card. Completely unacceptable. What would've potentially been a new part of my frequent San Jose trip, has not only lost my business but I'll never again book on viator again.
We had a blast seeing the wildlife of the waters. It's an intimate size group you go with so good opportunity to chat at-length with your guide. And we got to see killer whales plus false killer whales, we even got to swim with the false killer whales! Would recommend if you are in Cabo, a good reason to wake up early one morning!
Extraordinary day. Paula and Pablo got us to all the right places for wonderful encounters with whales, marlin, thresher shark and schools of tuna. Some great snorkelling, really interesting insiyinto the marine life and what a chance to jump into the blue to see what’s there!
This was a great excursion! The captain and guide were very kind, knowledgeable and helpful. We saw a pod of 6 whales diving and breathing, snorkeled, ate our burritos and saw a sea lion!
Got to see a whale in October! Team was knowledgeable and super friendly. Will have to come back again to San Jose del Cabo when we have our baby.
Great experience. The boat is very nice and clean. There are two crew. My guess is they max they will take is 8 guests. Did not ask. We had 5 guests on the boat. Not a lot of shade so plan accordingly- hats, towels, coverups. They had water but I would bring your own just in case. Food was great. Saw wales, dolphins, turtles, lots of fish snorkeling and some massive yachts. Seas were super calm for us. Would definitely recommend.
To be out on the Sea of Cortez and see the sea life all around us was incredible. Our driver and guide with dip expeditions were knowledgeable, responsible and entertaining- as were our fellow travelers. Thank you for showing us this treasure.
We had an excellent day with Francisco! We spent the first half of our time whale watching. We saw them throughout the voyage. The highlight was when he took us to a spot where a group of four humpback whales encircled us and put on a spectacular show in very close proximity. In the latter half of the day, we snorkeled at a reef with a great variety of fish. The wetsuits that were provided made it quite comfortable in the cold water. The tacos were tasty. It was a perfect way to experience Cabo!
Cabo is a warm and friendly town filled with reasonably priced hotels, restaurants and activities. We stayed at a beautiful hotel, casa Bella, within walking distance of the marina in Cabo San Lucas.
Crew was delightful, they provided wet suit surprisingly fit , & im, 6.5 258. It is in the ocean, we saw dolphins small reef fish, a parrot & needle fish & im 67 & they helped me going up the ladder as ive always had weak feet. Hah hah!
We went whale watching and snorkeling with the DIP boat and had a fantastic time on both outings. All the equipment was top notch and all the crew were warm, smart and easygoing. We saw many whales includes a two week old calf and had a terrific snorkeling experience. I will recommend them to anyone!
Matt and Betty were prompt and efficient in getting our trip underway, giving good explanations and advice about snorkeling in the open ocean. The panga boat seemed new and was comfortable although not much of a covered area. Lunch was simple but tasty burritos. This trip is designed for an ocean adventure, not a lot of amenities. Seeing the Cabo area from the water was a completely different perspective. The mountains are stunning! Never knew there was a sea mount offshore where hammerhead sharks congregated. Although it took a while to locate them, we saw balls of bait fish, turtles, marlin, devil rays and humpbacks. We got into the water to snorkel with a very chill pod of dolphins. They were curious about us and liked to ride the bow wake. If you're ok with small boats this trip is a winner!
Cancel all your other boat tours and book them all with Dip Expeditions! The smaller group makes all the difference and this tour is much more wildlife focused- we set out for a snorkeling destination, but spotted rays jumping out of the water and followed them for a while, then we spotted whales and stopped to watch as they swam right by our boat! Truly a once in a lifetime experience! Then, we did snorkel and were the only boat in a cove with beautiful reefs. I will be booking again next time I’m in Cabo!
I had an unforgettable experience with DIP, everything was way beyond my expectactions, from the boat, the staff, the experience, everything was perfect. We saw a lot of animals and the DIP staff was very welcoming and we learned a lot on what they told us about the animals and the place. This company would definitely be my to go for safaris and other experiences and I can´t wait to go back and do it again. Thanks DIP for such an amazing time!
This tour was probably one of the highlights of my Cabo experience. A very authentic and honest team took is to find all sorts of marine life while providing interesting facts and information that made it even more remarkable. We felt safe, pampered and taken care of before, during and even after the experience. If you’re looking for one sea exploration experience, make sure to do it with them.
Best experience, crew was on point they know a lot and give you accurate information, we really enjoyed it. We saw a lot of wild life, sharks, whales, etc
Its was so magical what we got to experience out at the sea! The tour was amazing since the beginning, very comfortable on the boat and the guides were super nice and informative with us! Then we got to see whales in a way I had never experienced before, it was beautiful! We also saw some sharks and marlins around! If you have the opportunity dont miss it!
Our ocean safari with DipExpeditions was unforgettable. The team was professional, passionate, and knowledgeable, guiding us to amazing spots where we saw sea lions, mobulas, and even whales up close! The guides shared fascinating marine insights, and safety was clearly a priority. For an exciting, responsible adventure that deepens your love for the ocean, I highly recommend DipExpeditions. We can’t wait to return!
Our marine safari was absolutely incredible! We had the chance to see mobulas, whales, and manta rays up close—such a thrilling experience. The boat was modern and super comfortable, making the whole trip even better. The service was outstanding, and Matias, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable about marine life, which made the tour even more fascinating. I’d give it a 10 out of 10! Highly recommend it for anyone looking to experience the beauty of the ocean.
Best ocean safaris out there! The crew is super friendly, they respect nature, and you receive what you are paying for! Go DIP!
Loved this excursion. Great company and great day. I appreciate a business that doesn’t cater to the masses and puts a premium on your overall experience. That was DIP Expeditions. They have a new boat that’s perfect for like 8 people and they don’t over fill it. We headed out promptly at 8a and went about 8 miles offshore. The Ocean Safari is really open for whatever the day brings, but they have a known shark area already in GPS. When we arrived you could see a dozen Silky Sharks below the surface. The owner was our guide and he felt very safe and cautious. While animals are never 100% predictable, we felt more comfortable the longer we swam. Following the sharks, we saw multiple whales, sea turtles and then went snorkeling. I would highly recommend this company for those who are looking for something more personalized than a packed, booze cruise, snorkel trip. Pay a couple more bucks. Drive a litter further. Well worth it and already trying to recruit more people for our next expedition!!
I have done similar tours with other companies and this has been the best by far. The boat itself is already a whole other level… it’s brand new and super comfortable. Usually this boats don’t even have somewhere to sit but this one has a very nice cushioned area at the front to chill in-between dives. Which is very much appreciated since long days at the sea can be exhausting. The crew has the best attitude and they were super respectful with the wildlife which is also very important since other boats don’t have the knowledge and get too close to some animals and hurt them. I will for sure book again with them.
The views, all the animals and the connection with nature, made this a life changing experience. If you’re in Cabo, you can't miss this. For me it was an amazing day and the crew members made it so much fun and interesting. Can’t wait to book another of the experiences that dip offers.
It was the most breathtaking experience I've had! We saw sharks, whales, sea lions, and Marlins. The boat is very clean and comfortable, and Matias, our tour guide, was exceptionally good. He gave us all the instructions and made us feel safe in the water. I can't wait to come back!
DIP boat is the best in the San José Marina, I’ve been on many! And that’s the least to say, they are such an amazing crew, Matias has so much knowledge and is incredibly friendly and makes you feel safe and adventurous at the same time. I am a now forever DIP client for all my ocean adventures.
Our Ocean Safari with Cabo Seafaris was just great. Jorge and Captain José accompanied the trip perfectly – professional, friendly and with a lot of experience. We saw humpback whales and dolphins, went snorkeling and could swim with rays. The absolute highlight, however, was a gray whale that swam past us at close range and even interacted with the dolphins – unbelievable and simply incredible. The next time we visit Baja we definitely book with you again. Thank you for this great adventure!
Little known insider tip in Europe pleasant atmospheres, super friendly people and plenty to experience. Whether sand buggying or motocross terrain, horseback riding on the wide sandy beaches, just sunbathing, or exciting adventures on or in the sea, there is something for everyone. If you want to go inland you need a four-wheel drive. Only the main roads and towns are tarred. Great real Mexican and international food. And of course original tequila. What used to be a dangerous place, the government is quite well under control. There is a lot being built, unfortunately also megahotels and much too big concrete blocks right on the sea.
Incredible experience and by far the best boat in San Jose or San Lucas. Very modern, very clean, very professional and attentive staff. The day and conditions also helped but I can definitely say that we were received very professionally and responsibly with the environment and animals! Highly recommended.
We saw thousands of mobulas, marlin, turtles and sea lions! It was amazing! Thanks to Captain Matias for an epic safari!
We went on an Ocean Safari with Dip and it was amazing. The boat is new and they have it in excellent condition, it is spacious and very comfortable. Captain and guide have a lot of knowledge and love for what they do. I highly recommend them if you want to take a tour in San Jose del Cabo.
We swam with 12 silky sharks!!!! The safari exceeded my expectations. We swam with 12 silky sharks, saw a humpback whale, many turtles and ended up snorkeling in a very nice reef, full of life. The guide, Matías, made us feel extremely safe while we swam with the sharks. He trained us from the boat to be able to act correctly and respectfully with sharks underwater. We ate burritos and were given thermoses instead of disposable plastic bottles. I will surely return!
I felt so at home with DIP Expeditions that I went out to sea twice in one week with them. For locals like me, it is a great opportunity to include marine life in your “everyday” life since it leaves from the Puerto Los Cabos marina, which is more beautiful. I imagine that for a tourist, a dream! Above all, the touch of Captain Ramón and Matías as a guide was the highlight of my experience. Thank you for your humane, kind, inclusive and conscious attention to the environment and living beings.
The most fun safari and the best experience of my life!! The entire DIP EXPEDITION team with great human quality and super attentive all the time. I'm already getting ready for the next one!
