This tour is highly recommended. The tour and the food were both amazing. The highlight was having “Hector the Connector” as our guide. He was so fun and knowledgeable about the area and its history. Definitely take this tour at the beginning of your trip. He really does know everybody.

Amazing tour with Alan. He was very knowledgeable about the history of San Jose del Cabo and introduced us to some wonderful local restaurants and vendors. The tequila tasting with Chef Francisco along with his tasty sopes were a wonderful finish to the evening. We highly recommend this tour and the cooking class with Francisco which did two years ago.
Allan was an excellent guide. Very outgoing and made it a fun experience for our group. The restaurants on the tour offered great food.
The best and most beautiful experience of my life. The boat captain elio, maybe, awesome and the first mate Allen were incredible! Spectacular views, just an amazing adventure. Please do this if possible
We had a great tour with Alan! Food was delicious. There were options we would have never tried on our own had it not been for the tour!
Great food and plenty of it. Be prepared that not all the stops have air conditioning but it was still ok, even in July. Our guide (Alan) made sure that he mixed up the warm stops and the cool ones to help us out. Alan was very knowledgeable, had great English skills, and a great sense of humor.
This was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend it to everyone who is interested in such a tour. Hector "the Connector" was a fantastic tour guide and took us to some locations we would have never have thought to explore or felt comfortable to explore on our own. Everyone was extremely welcoming of us and we got to try to some fantastic and very authentic food. Our only disappointments were that instead of going to a chocolate store that was apparently closed on the day we were touring, we were taken to a jewelry store. The store was lovely, but not really in the scope of the tour we'd been expecting. But truly, all in all, a fantastic tour! And informative! Hector had lots of great info about the region and history.
Guide Alan was knowledgeable and funny. Tour was a perfect intro to San Jose del Cabo for tacos, local drinks, and desserts.
Hector gave us an absolutely fantastic food tour in San José del Cabo! From start to finish, he was authentic, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about sharing the local culture and cuisine. He took his time with us and made sure every stop was perfect, explaining the history behind the food and introducing us to places we never would have found on our own. The food was absolutely fabulous at every location, and each tasting felt carefully chosen to showcase the best of San José. Hector’s attention to detail, warm personality, and love for his city made the experience truly special. If you’re visiting Cabo, don’t miss this tour. You simply won’t discover these incredible hidden gems without Hector. It was one of the highlights of our trip, and we highly recommend it!
This was an excellent tour! Guide was great. Food was much better than expected. If you have the chance, make sure to do this.
COMPA ALAN! Absolutely phenomenal time exploring Cabo San Jose with our guide. Food was better than everything we’ve had all trip and the ambiance was phenomenal too at all locations. It’s sooooo worth it to go on a tour with locals to get a better idea of what’s worth your money and what’s overpriced tourist traps.
This was a fantastic tour that took you to little hole in the wall places for tacos. Alan was a fantastic guide. We got amazing tacos, chocolate and tequila with a perfect history lesson of the area and the food. Loved seeing the market and how the locals shop. Totally recommend this tour.
Hector "the Connector" was a great guide. Our experience was rich and immersive. The food stops we made were delicious and Hector made each one special.
We were on 3 Juan More Taco tours in Cabo San Lucas in previous years so we were looking forward to the San Jose tour. It was a fascinating and delicious experience, quite different gastronomically due to the emphasis on meat fillings. Our guide, Hector “The Connector”, was very knowledgeable about the various foods and the regions of Mexico from which they sourced. Hector is a man who is very knowledgeable, very proud of his country, its traditions, and its people. We consider him a friend and look forward to our next meeting.
Hector “the connector” gave a great tour. Lots of history and culture. Took us in search of food with flavors. All the places we went were excellent.
Hector was very sweet and attentive. In addition to the delicious food, he gave us some history of the area and also information on several plants and trees. It was very private - just 3 of us. The food was the best part.
Our guide provided a great insight into the different flavors with our different stops for tastings. The range of salsas is great.
Amazing great tacos at places you would never knew existed . Our guide Alan was so very good and kmhe kept us on time without missing anything!
"Hector the Connecter" was our tour guide. Incredibly friendly and helpful. Hector showed us around the market, fed us absolutely delicious local food from small local merchants, made sure we also had the time to do a free tequila tasting and a chocolate tasting. It was a true pleasure spending time with such a wonderful guide and knowledgeable host
It was great walking around parts not typically traveled if it’s your first time in town. Our guide Hector the connector was really great.
It was wonderful!! Our tour guide Hector The Connector and his friend were great. The venues and the food was outstanding with great service! Other than being a little warm and humid all was 👍🏾
Alan was an excellent guide, he provided a lot of information about the places and food we ate. I highly recommend this tour
Alan is very knowledgeable about the history of all the food served and answered all my gringo questions. I have taken 5-6 Viator tours and this is definitely top 2 on my list. He has personality galore and made the whole experience fun and informative. Highly recommend this experience. Great tequila tasting as well. I was looking for a particular tequila and he went above and beyond to make it happen. Thank you Alan
Alan was a wonderful guide and catered to all allergy restrictions and made the experience really fun and educational. Would recommend
Amazing experience- probably the best little tour I’ve ever been on! Our guide was extremely personable and had a wealth of knowledge- growing up in So Cal I’m no stranger to Mexican food but I still learned plenty! The tour was well rounded with several food stops(the cochinita de pibil was amazing!) a tequila tasting- an informative chocolate presentation and wonderful shop with truly amazing special chocolates and a local fresh made ice cream- I highly suggest taking this wonderful tour! Well worth it
Hector was a wonderful and very fun guide. The tastings were varied and delicious. Great for all ages. We especially enjoyed Mokys shrimp ceviche and the passion fruit margaritas!
Had a wonderful time exploring the San Jose del Cabo food scene! Loved the small group atmosphere!! The food was delicious and our guide Hector was super friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!!
Didn’t get to go because there is a Cabo San Lucas and Cabo San Jose. So when I searched for Cabo San Lucas this came up and I booked unaware there are two. You really should emphasize that there are two locations.
Alan was fantastic. Fun, patient, informative and easy to be with. We enjoyed every place he took us to!
Allen was our tour guide and was so kind, knowledgeable and accommodating. He made everyone feel comfortable on the tour. Food experience was great. Just the right amount of food with a wide variety of Mexican Specialties. Thank you Allen.
The tacos were amazing, the tequila tasting informative and delicious, and Alan the host was excellent! A lovely was to spend a few hours.
Had a great time. Hector took us to some great restaurants to try some excellent food. Also learned quite a bit.
Gilberto was very knowledgeable and the tour was very fun. I would recommend this tour to anyone that wants to learn more about Mexican food and its culture.
We did the food tour in San Jose Del Cabo. Great food and a good way to get an introduction to San Jose Del Cabo. Hector the Connector was a great guide.
Hector the connector our guide was great and very knowledgeable. The food was amazing and very authentic. I never would have found those places on my own. So glad we did this.
Gilberto was very knowledgeable and well liked by the many places we visited. Would never have found such great spots without him!!
Loved it! Gilberto was our tour guide & he was so fun & educational. We learned more about Mexican culture, heritage, & the right way to eat! If you’re in the fence about this experience I would encourage you to book it.
One of the most enjoyable (and filling) tours we have ever done. We toured with 4 other couples, and everyone had a great time!
Food was delicious, Hector was a great tour guide. Would definitely recommend if visiting. Thank you!
We enjoyed our tour with Hector as our guide. Lots of food, so definitely come hungry. We enjoyed finding new "hole in the wall" places to eat/drink. The tour lasted about 4 hours from 11am to about 3pm. Would recommend to others.
Great variety of foods and eateries that we would never have tried except through this tour. Everything was delicious and we were totally full at the end of the tour.
Allan, our guide, was laidback and informative. We had multiple tacos, tequila tasting, and dessert. Went to local spots and gave helpful tips. Well worth the value!
Hector the Connector was a great guide. He knew most of the people we passed on the street, was knowledgeable about the area and the various food traditions. We really enjoyed it! Come hungry:)
This was a great experience! Our tour guide “The Connector” was awesome. The restaurants were off the beaten path and the food was wonderful. Well worth the time and money.
We visited quite a few different spots for food, but the wait times at most of the restaurants was too long in my opinion. They variety of foods could have been more diverse.
My wife and I took this tour on Nov. 6th and It was outstanding. However, when our Uber driver dropped us off, we were concerned we might be in the wrong place. The starting point is in a working class area of town and we were a bit worried. As more tourists arrived our concerns lessened and when the tour guide arrived, we realized our concerns were unfounded. The tour started with 4 sites in the immediate area where we watched and tasted the making of fresh handmade tortillas, they were excellent. We then traveled to a market that had numerous vendors displaying their fresh from the farm. meats, produce and cheeses for sale to the local eateries. We even got to taste a few samples. Next, we walked to a restaurant next door to sample the freshly prepared items. During this time, out tour guide Alan (?), informed us about the food and culture of the local area. From the meeting point, we proceeded on a 2 mile journey stopping at several restaurants that offer us a choice of delectable items to sample, all cooked as we waited eating chips and dip, a chocolate store and an ice cream truck. Inter spread with these stops, there was also a tequila tasting. The tour ended in front of the Misión San José del Cabo. Throughout the tour, Alan continually pointed out items of interest and answered our questions. He did a great job as our guide. Other then our own unfounded concerns, this tour could not have been any better. We highly recommend you give it a try. It's a 5 out of 5.
Allen was our guide for the San Jose del Cabo morning Food Tour. He was friendly and engaged with everyone in the group. He walked at a moderate speed so that everyone could keep up. He pointed out different buildings and businesses that were not directly part of the tour for our knowledge or future reference. The tour itself incorporated a nice selection of foods - tortillas, cheese, several kinds of tacos/rellenos, tequila, chocolate and ice cream - all delicious! We were educated on the history of the foods & how they were made or the ingredients incorporated. Allen was clearly a local, knowing many shopkeepers and areas about town. Would wholeheartedly endorse this tour - enjoy!
October 2024. Just finished our taco food tour with Hector the Collector. We started at the Tortilla factory at the Mercator at the Municipal Market. Then ventured off to various restaurants that the locals ( ie those in the know) go to. We had samples of many freshly made salsas, food samples including a Mayan dishes, and tequila tastings, plus information on the traditional foods of Mexico. The emphasis was on the fresh flavours, and the tour did not disappoint. Recommended.
Gilberto was the best, he not only told us about the authentic food but the history around it. He also showed us the places to buy great jewelry. He spoke great English also!! I would recommend this to anyone who wants authentic taco and Mexican cuisine!
My husband, son and I did this tour based on a recommendation of a friend. So glad we did! It was our favorite activity of our trip. We lucked out and it was just the three of us on the tour. Hector (the Connector!) was our tour guide and he was fantastic! Loved his info on the area and the details of the tortilla-making stop, and the grocery store. We stopped at 4 or 5 taco shops and tasted everything from Carne Asada, to fresh fish to Al Pastor. SO GOOD! Places you would not know about as a tourist. There was a tequila tasting stop as well, which was very personal and informative. Finished up the tour in the main town square market (wonderful place!) and was able to get a chocolate tasting and an opportunity to buy some souvenirs. Would highly recommend this tour. It was about 3 hours long and a little warm, but easily accessible to water along the way. Bring your appetite - you will not leave hungry!!
