We got lucky it ended up being a private tour since it was just my husband and I! Our tour guide Alan was great! We really enjoyed the tour! Especially the tequila tastings at the end!!! We did 3 tacos spots, chocolate and tequila tasting, there was dessert option at the end but we were full by then!!
First off, Alan is the best guide ever!!! It ended up being just my wife and I that signed up so we got a “private” tour. Alan was very happy to share the rich history and culture with us and the food spots were incredible. We really loved the birria tacos at their kitchen and the tequila tasting was fantastic, my wife doesn’t like it too much based on past experience but we ended up buying a bottle. The real highlight was my wife making a comment that she wanted to buy local pottery so Alan FaceTimed a shop owner who showed us around his shop before we walked over there. That’s next level service that I know isn’t common but very much appreciated. This was a 11/10 experience and I can’t recommend it enough
Alan was a great guide and we had a lovely evening walking through San Jose del Cabo and trying different tacos. We started at a little bodega to get a water or soft drink of our choice (no extra cost), then we went to three different taco locations to try one taco at each place. They were all delicious! We particularly loved the carne asada one at the actual Juan More Taco place. We also went to the chocolate factory to learn about the history of chocolate in Mexico and sampled some different kinds. We skipped the tequila tasting because we don’t drink but Alan made sure to walk us out personally and brought us to get some churros to end the evening. For the actual food we got the tour was a little expensive but we were happy to support them and enjoyed chatting with Alan and the other family we were with on the tour.
Alan our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our time with him. We went to two restaurants and then two food trucks at the town Square. I would’ve preferred all restaurants instead of the food trucks.
This was a fun and casual tour. Alan did a great job taking us to three delicious taco places and sharing about Mexican food culture. The experience itself was lovely, and we had a great time. However, the only downside was that the food portions didn't feel like a good value to match the cost of the tour. We understand we're paying for the experience, not just the food, but the description said to "come hungry" which was not great advice for a grown man. This led to a hangry partner. Kudos to Alan and Juan More Tacos experience for throwing in an extra mole enchilada (delicious!), extra shots, and an extra dessert upon request. Just sharing these details in case it helps set expectations for future guests - a bit more food or clearer expectations would make this an even better value.
We had a great experience at the evening taco tour. It was just us and another couple so the experience felt more intimate. Our tour guide was funny and knowledgeable. We also sampled chocolate and tequila which was nice bonus and ended the tour with delicious churros.
Had a fun time walking through San Jose del Cabo. We have been coming for years and never walked through the main square. We went to four different food stops and we purchased alcoholic drinks at every stop. There was also a tequila tasting at the end which was very fun and informative! Food was pretty good. Only thing I didn’t love is we were brought to a gift shop and felt very obligated to purchase something and it was very expensive. Walking was not hard besides some a few sets of steps and uneven sidewalks if you’re older. It was 3 hours long. It ended up only being our family on the tour. The town felt very safe.
great tour of the taco and street food scene in SJDC. We stopped at 3 taco places, a street stand, and a churros stand in the main square. All were excellent, and I wanted a no red meat or pork option and that was easy to obtain.
Experienced a walk through downtown, ate at amazing places, received some good historical information, and met some great people traveling from other places. Hector ‘The Connector’ did a great job leading us through town.
i have lived in SJD for over 15 years. This was our 1st food tour in SJD. Alan took us to 3 restaurant's that were new to me with great Tacos. also, my 1st visit to the chocolate factory followed by an excellent Tequila tasting just prior the final stop for churros. i would recommend Juan more taco as a way to see and learn about SJD.
Our group had a really nice evening with Alan who led us on an amazing town and food experience. We enjoyed some very unique and tasty tacos, sopes and tamales as well as chocolate and tequila tasting. It was a relaxed and fun stroll through town on a beautiful evening.
Alan, our guide was amiable a took us to some great taquerías. All the samples were delicious and together made for a great evening of eating. Great way to get to know San Jose del Cabo.
Hector the connector our guide was Incredible and took us on the most amazing dining and margarita experience in San Jose del Cabo! Loved our different food stops and Mexican culture he taught us. We lov d him and would highly recommend taking a Juan more tacos tour!
Note: we participated in the daytime/lunch tour. We loved our tour with our guide, The Connector. He was very informative and friendly. My husband and I tried a variety of tacos and a tostada - all were delicious and absolutely fresh, as they were prepared immediately when we arrived. Definitely a must-do while in San Jose del Cabo!
We had a great time! We spent the day with Allen, our tour guide for Cabo San Jose for the 11 AM tour. They were very attentive with our food allergies and preferences, and had food substitutes, so no one felt left out. He was fun, enthusiastic about his food and community and it was contagious. We stopped in a lot of little hole in the wall restaurants, where the locals eat, we shopped at a food market, taste tested tequila, and finished up at a chocolate shop where you can eat freshly made bonbons and chocolate frappes. I mentioned I wanted to buy some locally made art and he brought us to a ceramics and glass blowing shop, and offered to take us to a local jeweler that makes custom work. It all felt very authentic and everyone we met along the tour were so nice. We brought along tip money and everywhere we stopped for tacos we left a $2-5 tip which was greatly appreciated. It’s a tour that shouldn’t be missed! Great Gluten-free and allergy free options
We happened to be the only 4 people on the tour this day. But this food tour was only ok compared to other food tours we have done.
My mom and I had a great time on this experience! Our two hosts, or friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was outstanding, and the walk was not too much even though my mom has some balance issues. We visited three restaurants, and then tequila tasting, and they were all enjoyable. The location is in the central part of town not the Marina district so if you are in the Marina district, there will be a bit of a cab ride for you. That said it was well worth it
What an amazing experience! From start to finish, the Taco tour exceeded all expectations. Alan was an incredible guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and full of energy. He shared fascinating insights about the city’s culture and history as we strolled through the streets, making the entire experience so much more than just a food tour. We visited three different taco spots, each offering a unique and delicious take on authentic Mexican tacos. Every bite was better than the last! Alan clearly knows where to find the best of the best. One unexpected highlight was the visit to a local chocolate factory. Alan explained the deep roots of chocolate in Mexican history and let us sample chocolate at various cacao percentages—it was both educational and delicious. If you're visiting and looking for a fun, flavorful, and culturally rich experience, don’t miss this tour—and definitely ask for Alan. He made the day unforgettable!
The tour was amazing. Great learning about the history of the city along with all the history about the alcohols and the food. Our tour guide Alan was amazing. Such a wealth of knowledge. If you’re looking for something interactive and new in order to experience the city of San Jose Del Cabo, we highly recommend doing this. The cost of booking covers all your food and you end with tequila tasting that is super engaging in educational. You have to try it out.
Great service, we had the pleasure of tasting some very impressive dishes from small local restaurants we wouldn't have found otherwise.
Incredible tour with amazing food! It’s really hard if not impossible to find tacos like these is the US. The pastor was ridiculously good. And Hector was the best guide - he really cares about people have a great experience. Highly recommended!
Don't eat before you go. Lots of tacos! Would be difficult to do if you had mobility issues. Hector was a great tour guide
We booked this walking tour to get a good feel of the San José del Cabo "Old Town" area on our first night in town. We thought it'd be a good idea to sample different foods (we chose all tacos) at local eateries and getting escorted by a local! It was so fun and informatative and ALL really good food. My daugther and I had the guide to ourselves as others cancelled or no-showed. I really appreciate the tour wasn't cancelled on us (THANK YOU Juan More Tacos)!
Hector was a great guide and took us to some places we would not have found on our own. All the food was wonderful and we went back for lunch to one of the restaurants a few days later.
If you want a fun, enjoyable, informative, and yummy tour of San Jose, this tour is for you. Alan, our guide, entertained us with stories and history of San Jose while we sampled tacos from local, small taco shops. And they ALL were delicious. We ended the night with a private tequila tasting, which was the perfect capstone to a very enjoyable and memorable evening.
Two years ago my husband and I did this tour and we loved it, so we knew we needed to do it again with our best friends on their first trip to San Jose del Cabo. Alan was our guide for the evening and took us to places that we would’be never found on our own; the most unique locations, full of colour and culture. It was only the four of us on the tour, making us feel extra VIP as we learned about Mexican cuisine, culture, traditions and of course tequila. Alan went above and beyond at each stop making sure we understood the menu options and choices, made his own recommendations to us and even worked his magic to get us incredibly fresh churros (when the long line seemed too daunting to wait in). The last stop with the tequila tasting was incredibly informative and lots of fun. I learned more about tequila than I ever knew before! I now know how to properly drink it and how it is made and aged. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat and would ask for Alan as my guide.
We signed up for the morning walking and tasting tour on our first full day in San Jose Del Cabo, and I would recommend it to others. You start at the Municipal Market, and over the course of a few hours, work your way through town, stopping at a number of very authentic but reasonably-priced eating establishments that would all be good to go back to later in the week. In our case, the three of us (my wife and son) were the only people on the tour, so we got a private tour. It was a great opportunity to ask a local about life in Mexico. There is also a tequila tasting in their office, and the chance to try some great cocktails at restaurants along the way. It concludes with a tour to the chocolate factory. I strongly recommend the tour.
I can't recommend this tour enough!! We had the best time with our guide Cici and the other guests on the tour. He took us to SO MANY places to each amazing tacos and also other spots to sample tequila and look at art. I want to come back with my husband and daughter so they can do the tour. Highly, highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn something new, make some new friends, each amazing food and have a great time:)
This was such a great tour, especially to do at the beginning of my trip. It’s a great introduction to the city of San José del Cabo and made me feel more comfortable returning to explore more on my own. Gilberto was a fantastic guide and every spot we stopped was delicious! I highly highly recommend doing this tour- especially for solo travelers, but really for anybody!
Hector took us to some great places we wouldn’t have found on our own and made great recommendations on what to order for food and drinks at each. We enjoyed Adelina’s so much we went back for dinner a few days later.
We had so much fun on our taco tour with Juan More Tacos Tours and our guide Gilberto. The restaurants we visited were all great and everyone was so friendly. The food and atmosphere at each were perfect. Gilberto shared history of the country and area, stories and jokes with us. I would highly recommend taking this taco tour.
Great experience! Hector the connector was a great guide and took us to 4 local spots We didn't love everything, but we were able to find some restaurants on the tour that became favorites, and that we visited again on our trip. Additionally, Hector provided information about the local area, and at the restaurants we learned a little about their business and their approach to the food. Many of these businesses are small and/ or family run businesses which is awesome to find so many wonderful local spots on one tour. We did this on our first night which was a great intro to our trip. A note- it was very humid the day we went on this tour and this is a walking tour. It's not a ton of walking but if your mobility isn't great you may want to consider an alternative, as we were very hot between each stop and the streets are small and there is lots of loose gravel and steps to be aware of.
We had Gilberto for our tour and it was great! The food was AMAZING, we heard a lot about the history and people of the area, and we supported local businesses with amazing staff. Finally, the tequila tasting with Norma was phenomenal! There were so many gems with this tour.
Gilberto was our tour guide and we had the best time. Every stop was absolutely delicious and we learned so much about San Jose del Cabo. Gilberto was familiar with where we were from which gave us even more to talk about. This tour was informational and fun the whole family enjoyed it. The next time we go back we now have the knowledge to explore on our own even more.
So much fabulous food and unique and wonderful drinks! Family had a great time with “The Connector”. Perfect for an intro to San Jose del Cabo. Come hungry. Highly recommend!
Great tour with Hector “the connector”! Made sure everyone had a great time, shared the history of San Jose, and was upbeat, friendly, and knowledgeable. Didn’t leave hungry and had a great time with the tequila tasting. Definitely recommend!!
Hector the connector! Remember this hombre because he is the one & only to give you the best possible food tour & information about your food experience! I have trouble walking & steps were an issue but he was so helpful to me & appreciated his kindness! The food @ all the different locations & the margaritas were truly delicious! He took us to his friend @ the tequila tienda & educated us on the different tequilas & how they are made. Very educational! I highly recommend you taking Hector’s food tour @ Juan More Tacos! You will have a great experience!
Gilberto was the absolute best. Genuine and knowledgeable. We went to authentic NOT commercial places. These were the best tacos I have ever had. Each place had a different style of tacos but OMG the flavors never ended. This was amazing. Money well spent!
It was a great time. Hector was awesome and made us feel very comfortable. He knew everyone and gave us a private tour of the town.
Hector the Connector is the Best! We loved the education on the culture and food. We enjoyed all the tacos & margaritas that he shared with us. We highly recommend this tour!
Allen was our guide and was fantastic! We started with tortillas and some interesting facts of the small tortilla factory, had some wonderful tacos along the way and even had some tequila tasting. We were able to take a neat walking tour of San Juan del Cabo. Great tour and great guide! Really was the highlight of our trip.
Fun tour of San Jose del Cabo near the town square. Think of it as eating a multiple course meal while walking through a historic part of Cabo. Everything we had was great, and some owner's even stayed open late so we could stop by and sample some of their cuisine. We even got dessert!
My husband and I went on our first night in San Jose. It was so much fun to walk around the city learning from our guide. Two spots had margaritas for purchase, and they were both worth it! After the tacos we returned to the tequila shop for a tasting of 5+ tequilas and other liqueurs. Only warning- they took us to a quality jewelry store after the tequila, so don’t drink too much if you are easily swayed!
Thoroughly enjoyed this excursion. "The Connector" was an amazing guide, providing useful tips and insights with fantastic humour. Every location was great, each one with different food and salsa's each one amazing in their own way. I highly recommend this excursion early in your stay to get a great feel for San José and what hidden gems are available.
We have been coming to San Jose del Cabo for 10 years, and we have tried many different restaurants and tours here. We were looking for something different to do this year and came across Juan More Tacos. So glad we did, this is a fantastic way to spend three hours! Hector "The Connector" was our guide, and told us this tour was all about flavors - tortillas, fillings, and salsas. He was so right! All the places we stopped at were small little gems, where the locals come to eat. The food was all made from scratch and so delicious! We never would have found these places on our own, and now we can go back to try more items on their menus. The tour also included a tequila tasting and a Mexican chocolate tasting. Hector was delightful and very informative about the food, culture, and the area. We will do this tour again next year. Highly recommend to anyone looking to explore San Jose and enjoy great food!
For almost $90 a person we had 3 small tacos and a supposedly 4th taco from another restaurant they literally had nothing on it. The guide also approached my teenage daughter unprovoked saying how one of her rings was fake and asked what she paid for it. Would not recommend!
Great tour with Hector was amazing! Food was delicious and Hector was very knowledgeable about food and city! Best tequila tasting we had on trip as well (and we had various). We can’t wait to try cooking class some day as well!
Margarita tasting was interesting. Tacos were also unique in two locations. Tour guide had shown knowledge of area and businesses we visited. Overall cost however excessive in relation to overall tasting experience and full tour. I would not recommend due to value!!!
Hector the Connector was a great guide who introduced us to restaurants in San Jose we hadn’t been to. A lot of food and a lot of fun.
