Good experience, best pricing I was able to locate, half day was the best option for my time in Cabo, great atmosphere and weather, crowds but at a distance due to a fishing turnorment but out of our control. Good for 1-2 people looking to fish on a budget. 3 people would work but space would be limited. Staff was very helpful.

I booked an English speaking captain and the person piloting the boat didn’t speak English. Spent 4 hours trolling and I never touched a rod.
I took my 14-year-old son on his first deep-sea fishing trip, and it was a memorable experience! If you’re expecting a large, luxury fishing charter, this probably isn’t the trip for you. It was by far the smallest fishing boat I’ve ever been on, but honestly, that didn’t matter to us. One thing to be aware of is the meetup process at the dock. While it’s fairly straightforward, there are many people around who will approach you offering to help you find your boat or trying to sell additional trips, often expecting a tip in return. It’s best to politely decline these offers and wait until you connect with the actual crew you’re booked with. Captain Felipe worked hard to get us on fish, and we caught several throughout the trip. We had a great time on the water, and it was a fun first ocean fishing experience for my son. A couple things to know before you book: because the boat is small, you’ll get splashed quite a bit, and it can feel chilly, so I’d definitely recommend wearing extra layers. Also, while Captain Felipe was friendly and knowledgeable, there were times when it was difficult to understand his instructions. At one point, I think we may have lost a marlin simply because we weren’t sure what he wanted us to do. Overall, I’d recommend this company if you’re looking for an authentic, laid-back fishing experience rather than a fancy, high-end charter. We had fun, caught fish, and I made great memories with my son.
Felipe was awesome! Bonoto yellowtail then blue shark!
This was a great experience for my son! We celebrated his 23rd birthday in Cabo and he wanted to fish, but the rest of us don’t fish, so he went solo, just him & the captain! He caught some good fish!! The half day was perfect because he still got to do other activities with the family!
My first fishing charter was an unforgettable experience thanks to Captain Neil and Carlos! From start to finish, they were professional, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone on board had a great time. This was my first charter and every fish I caught was a Personal Best from all the fishing in my life. The fishing was incredible—I ended up catching 12 fish total, including 5 skipjack, 1 needlefish, 2 roosterfish, and 4 mahi-mahi. I even hooked another fish that was stolen by a seal, which made for a pretty memorable story! As someone new to charter fishing, I really appreciated how patient and helpful they were throughout the trip. They took the time to provide guidance, kept us on the fish, and created a fun and exciting atmosphere the entire day. If you're considering a fishing charter, I highly recommend Captain Neil and Carlos. They helped make my first charter experience a huge success, and I can't wait to book another trip with them in the future!
This was the greatest fishing experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve been on several other fishing charters in Cabo but I actually caught some fish on this one. I caught on Marlin and a Wahoo. The captain was very knowledgeable about the water. We were catching fish immediately. I’m definitely booking this fishing trip again
Felipe was great in getting everything set up on the boat for a productive day. Juan Carlos took care of our dock entry and fishing license. We had our first Mahi Mahi about 5 minutes into our trip so that was pretty exciting. The Mahi Mahi jumped several times and was a beautiful neon gold, yellow and blue in the water. We didn’t catch any Marlin but we did see a few jumping. It was a great day and we took our larger Mahi Mahi and had it prepared and cooked in a local marina restaurant (Los Claros). We saw dolphin, turtles, seals and what looked like a barracuda. The boat was small, but Felipe was a master at handling the large swells on the Pacific. We will definitely do this again
Excellent no frills fishing trip! My wife and I were visiting Cabo for the first time. She wanted to do some Whale watching and sightseeing I decided to book a fishing trip to combo the experience. The boat is small with no bathroom so be prepared we often book fishing trips in the states with similar boats so we knew what to expect. We arrived at 6:30 and the captain and owner were on time and prepared. The owner had our fishing licenses printed and ready. Cash only for the licenses dock fee bait and Ice approximately 100 dollars US. We left the dock stopped for gas and bait and were on the fish within minutes. We had a Mahi and yellow fin tuna on the line by 7 am. Unfortunately a sea lion got the tuna and the Mahi shook the hook after an incredible performance of jumping. Not to worry we were on the fish all morning the captain could spot them way before they hit the line. Within 3 hours our cooler couldn’t hold anymore and after a 45 minute fight with a very large Mahi we were ready to call it a day and enjoy some fish tacos and margaritas. That’s a great problem to have. Bring extra cash for tip and fish cleaning. The fish cleaning station was able to vacuum seal and freeze our catch and had them back at the docks the next day. We saw turtles sea lions dolphins and a close up view of the rocks all the tourists charter boats to see. If you expect a fancy boat this is not the trip to book. But the captain had us on the fish and was just as excited as we were when we hooked up. This was a trip neither of us will ever forget.
Captain was nice, speaks no English. Boat was not ready to go nor did we leave on time. They buy the fishing license for you, even if you have one they will charge you $30 USDa each when it’s only $204 m.n. You pay extra for bait of course but we only used one of the fish since I was by myself and the first charter of day(he kept it for next charter. You Basically pay to watch him try and fish, I don’t book a sight seeing tour. Honestly pay a little more for another charter. One that shows up on time, and has good gear. Youll be actually paying about $400 USD. Again, nice captain but he won’t be putting you on the fish.
Despite not catching anything we had a great time on our charter! Our captain was so friendly and we saw a bunch of whales super close to our boat. He was really knowledgeable about when to switch bait and where to go looking for fish. We had so much fun and would book again when we’re back in Cabo!
Don't waste your money or time. The guy is not organized. He refuses anything less than a $50 tip. The boat is old. Has a hole. No equipment. No life jackets. No updated anything. Brings his friends along with their hands out. Didn't return my change. Trip was NOT 5 hours. No help with fish or anything unless I tipped every time. He claims he only gets paid by tips. I got 5 pieces of bait for $30!He fed the seal part of my bait without asking me. My money. My bait. No help with fish without tipping. Im 75. I have COPD. Ive never been fishing on the ocean and there's no equipment to catch big fish. Old equipment. No life jackets. No safety anything. I want a refund.
Positive experience: Ocean was beautiful, captain helped with fish and rods, we had a good catch! Negative: The price paid through Tripadvisor covers about 2/3 or so of the actual price. You'll need to pay additional license fee which costs ~210 MX$ per person but they charge you 450 MX$ per person, bait fee ~30 USD (not sure what you pay for as they are using fishing lures) and dock fee - 22 USD per person. The boat was not prepared - we had to stop by the gas station which could have been done beforehand. The captain showed up only to collect the extra $ and then outsourced the whole thing to another dude, who was good and nice, but not very experienced. Overall experience was still good as we caught a bunch of fish, saw whales, etc. But there is definitely room for improvement.
Fish were biting on live bait. Confirmed this with other fishing charters same day. They purchased only 3 live fish to last for 4 hours. Deckhand was inexperienced and lost fish. Not a good value nor experience for the money.
Beautiful views! Captain was great. Did not catch fish but was a great boat ride ! We saw the arch, whales, sea lions, seagulls and views of the shorelines
It was great! Slow fishing day but still managed to catch a skipjack and take it to a local restaurant for sashimi (delicious!). JC was very communicative and directions to the meeting point were clear. Captain Pedro was fun and knowledgeable, we had a great time. The boxed lunch add on was very good value. Fishing licenses and bait are additional cost but that seems standard from other deals we heard around the marina. Saw humpbacks, other whales, a few turtles and some other wildlife as well! Would recommend the tour, and if the fishing is slow it’s still a gorgeous morning out on the water.
It was fine. The meeting point instructio s were unclear sonwe wasted some time thinking we were in the right sport, but we werent. I texted a picture of where we were but got no response. We jad to pay an additional $90 U.S. for licenses, doc fees, and bait. The bait was either $20 or $30 for 3 love fish and 2 dead fish. We caught 2 fish and missed a few others. The seats were pretty uncomfortable. I wouldn't purchase this excursion again or reccomend it. Captain Chummy was a good dude.
Another great outing Panga fishing, this time it was Captain Pedro who put us on the fish. The All-inclusive option that Juan Carlos offers is the way that we always go, it’s great value with no hassles and everything is taken care of. Be back real soon
My husband and son went fishing with Antonio today. Their overall experience was mediocre as the guide did not provide much guidance and was very reserved. The fishing was good, but the guide did not engage much or provide instruction. My son went on guided fishing trips many times but this is the first time he neither learned anything new, nor got help and guidance when he needed it.
This was a very authentic fishing excursion!! My husband and I and the captain!! He landed a big and beautiful Marlin in a few hours!!! Our captain was so knowledgeable on exactly where to go and how to reel it in!! It’s. Or easy work - it took 45 minutes and my husband was exhausted but so excited!! Highly recommend this trip!!!
The quoted price for the experience did not include fishing license ($30 apiece) or bait - We were charged twice (once for $30 separately for $40 by the captain) . Food and water reasonable (not included) fishing was good however overall enjoyed this experience minus the extra money. These extra expenses, I was made aware of the night before the trip after my payment had already processed and was not returnable. Similarly on the Viator website, the same information was not noted (I may have missed it) until the day of the excursion
Juan Carlos hooked us up with Captain Pedro on the boat Sushi Time. We caught a striped marlin that whooped our butts. Captain Pedro is an OG badass. Would recommend Captain Pedro and Juan Carlos to anyone looking for an unforgettable fish trip.
For my dad’s 90th birthday his only wish was to go fishing in Cabo. I was told that I could find a boat at the marina upon arrival, but instead, I wanted to be on the safe side and book prior to arriving. First, they were 20 minutes late to meet us at the location we were told. Then they said before we can take you on the boat you have $150 balance that you need to pay. everything was supposed to be included with the booking that was made on here, besides lunchboxes for $40. They tried to scam me and my father out of $110 more. My poor father wasn’t able to have his fishing experience in Cabo. We refused to pay anything extra to these scammers. Everyone beware of what they try to pull on innocent people in Cabo.
Great half day. Hooked a bunch of fish from Bonitas, rooster fish to mahi mahi. Had much more than I needed to feast all week on catch so gave leftovers to men at restaurant. Chewy was working hard the entire time with 3-4 rods out at all times. Something very large took bait one time and just ran until it snapped 100lb test line like nothing. Lot's of fun for 5 hours just be conscience of smaller boat with no shade. You get what is advertised.
The captain was very knowledgeable, we had a great time! You can keep as many fish as you’d like, they clean then for you at the end for a small fee. Book this experience! We will be back!
Could have been better. No canopy or shade on small boat. Seats not very comfy. Guide was nice but not very instructive. Gear was ok but far from new. Leader hook would just get eaten through by the fish so frequently we would loose the catch. Only landed one mackerel in the boat so ya. Don't book online. Go to the marina and negotiate your own deal, get a comfy boat as you'll be there for a while fishing.
We showed up 5 minutes early and the captain didn’t show up with the boat until more than 30 minutes after the start time. During that time the guy that coordinates all of it told us that we had to pay an additional $74USD for bait and dock fees. When the captain did show up he illegally picked us up not in a dock spot (what was the dock fee for) he also dropped us off in a a dock spot that clearly wasn’t for his boat (which added to the confusion about the dock fee) We also stopped on the way out because he forgot to grab bait which made us almost a whole hour late to our fishing trip (don’t worry he made sure we got back at the originally agreed upon time… wasn’t late for that!) we proceeded to get a total of three bites for the entire journey but the set up he used allowed the fish to get bit on the end without a hook in it so we just pulled it back in with half of our fish missing (you’d think he’d put a hook through the end that keeps getting bit eventually) and a large portion of the time his buddies were on the radio screaming profanities in Spanish and making loud turkey noises. They will also ask for a tip for services regardless of how poor the service was. If I could go back I would much rather have spent more money on a better boat, captain, and experience. This wasn’t about not catching fish it was about not getting what I thought I was paying for.
Had a great first time deep fishing experience we loved the boat we were able to pass by the arcs as well. we caught 2 fish, 1 tuna and 1 yellowtail it was 37 pounds my boyfriend and the captain brought it up together he loved it so much the captain also was really helpful and taught us tips we can use back home definitely recommend you wont regret it
Fishing was tough for some in Cabo this trip, the water was cool and we have never seen the fish cleaning station that dead, but we caught fish every day, one of the few boats that did according to reports. The overall tally was 18 Roosters, a couple of JT’s, a few Tuna and 12 Sierra that are vacuum sealed, frozen and now resting comfortably in the freezer. Captain Mike worked hard for fish and a shout out to Captain Timo for putting us on fish every day and for his daily onboard preparation of Ceviche with our freshly caught Mackerel, it was just fantastic, another one off the bucket list!
After we paid, they surprised us with another $74 bill to get on the boat, they should have up front pricing. The drive was great
The boat is small and room for 2-3 guest max. We had 2 and was plenty of room to stand up, move around, and take photos. We're avid ocean fisherman so the small boat and one captain was perfect. We caught some fish and our poor captain had to work for it. The weather was rough but we didn't mind, and he kept going without skipping a beat. If your not used to small boats in the ocean you should bring sea sickness meds. You can bring snacks, food, even a small ice chest if you like. We really enjoyed the small personal experience and will do it again next time we're in Cabo.
Didn't catch anything the whole trip. Boat captain was more interested in eating our sandwiches and chips than trying anything different to find fish.
These guys were great from the start of the reservation. Sent me a map and instructions to meetup, gave options for box lunch, license and pickup. I just showed up and jumped on when they said to be there. We were fishing within 30 minutes and catching fish within minutes after that. The captain did a phenomenal job finding the fish and hooking them once found . We landed a Marlin well over 100 lbs thanks to the captain doing a great job
Always a fantastic time Juan Carlos & his captains work hard to get you on the fish. Have yet to be skunked with Sushi Time.
Boat is small, doesn’t really leave marina area, guide was friendly, but not helpful, I was disappointed with the level of cleanliness on the boat, water mixed with “things” on floor. I’m not expecting spotless but at least a daily clean would be good. If you’re looking for a small boat that does not go outside of eye view of marina, this may be your cheapest option. You can get a better experience walking the marina and booking with someone else. We paid 75$ on top of the 245$ for bait and fishing license (never got the license) and they ended up using plastic bait (squid jiggs). They had us jigging for hours and no shade. Will not be doing again.
We had a great time, Timo was great and we caught a ton of fish! We ran into a Bull Jack that felt like I was pulling a slab of cement off the ocean floor! Awesome experience, would use Sushi Time again for sure!
As a novice to sea fishing, I never expect to catch such big fish like bonitos and rooster fish in my life. I'll be back for sure 😁
Overall we had a great time on our half day fishing experience with Sushi Time. We had a great morning with Temo, we did not catch much but he tried all he could to get us to catch fish. Took us to a different spot, tried different bait, and threw in more lines for us. It was just a slow day. We did get to see some sharks, turtles, and sea lions. It was a long morning, probably since we didn't catch much. My husband and I still had a good time.
We’ve been fishing with Sushi Time for 9 years and this was our best trip yet. With 7 Marlin hookups it awesome to watch them attack our spread 15 feet off the back of the boat. After a 50 minute fight I landed and released my heaviest Marlin to date, my buddy landed his largest Dorado and we brought a bunch of Mahi home for the freezer. Juan Carlos has a good thing going and always sets us up with great guides, Captain Miguel and Captain Pedro worked hard to keep us on the fish. The bar has been set for 2025…
Awesome day fishing in Cabo. Captain Miguel was very helpful and showed us what to do. Beautiful views and caught lots of fish!
Great experience; fisherman took us on his boat; he had lures on his fishing rods and we used the lures to catch 4 Bonita fish. We were charged for bait ($20) but once on the boat, we just used plastic lures and not any live bait. Otherwise a great experience, would love to come again and catch bigger fish.
Awesome time on the water! We all caught fish and had a great time. Tony was a great captain and helper on the water. We’d definitely go back!
My friend and I had a great 5 hour morning fishing trip with Captain Ronnie. Juan Carlos was a pleasure to deal with and took care of all of the logistics, the price was fair. Once we got on the panga the fun began. Ronnie was setting up the gear before we got to the turn, and we even spotted a Marlin as we were going out, which we tried to get but couldn't hook it. Then we spent the rest the the morning talking and catching several Dorado. I can't wait to go out with them next trip to Cabo.
Wonderful experience even despite sea sickness. Captain Pedro was super friendly and genuinely focused on helping us hook dinner--- and we did-- a beautiful 12 lb Maui. He prepared our catch for cooking, which was on the table at Captain Tony's restaurant in 40 minutes. JC, who coordinates everything especially took care of us when unexpected weather conditions prevented our driver from picking us up. JC LITERALLY went the extra mile(s), and quite a few, for us to ensure we were taken care of right away. You don't need to pay $600 for a great, quality experience -- you can choose Sushi Time and have it all at an a very affordable price. Thanks JC and Pedro for an experience of a lifetime!
One Tuna, one Mahi and an amazing time with my son on the water! The service was impeccable. The owner, Juan Carlos, met us in the marina and brought us to our panga. Great guy and very helpful! From there Francisco, our captain, was in charge. He was patiently teaching my son how to tie knots and shared his tricks about fishing. Really awesome! One Tuna and one Dorado latter we were two happy campers. Absolutely great experience and I highly recommend it!
If you’re looking for someone to fish with sushi time will take care of you. These boys were top notch, I will be back to fish with these guys. They will put you on the fish.
This was a very poor excursion as it promotes the potential to catch deep sea fish (e.g., dorado, marlin, etc.), but provides a boat so small that it cannot go out to those distances where such fish are caught. Expecting guests to spend a 1/2 day on a boat without bathroom facilities is completely outrageous. Also, the trip coordinator, Paco, requested $60 USD for licenses and bait. I never saw or completed a fishing license application and the bait was insufficient in quantity. The boat, Sushi King, was in disrepair as it leaked power steering fluid so much that the operator had to stop the boat to minimize the leak. TripAdvisor should reconsider promoting this excursion.
Can’t pass up this experience! Great day on the water. Antonio and Christian are expert navigators and fisherman. I was very impressed how they efficiently managed the boat (panga) as we chased marlin and how they worked all the different fishing lines. It was exciting and fun! I’ve never been fishing in the ocean before and it was amazing! Can’t wait to do it again. Antonio and Christian were helpful and made sure to give us the best experience even when we were unsuccessful with the marlins and accidentally caught a manta ray. We got a good haul from a school of mahi mahi (dorado) on our way back to the marina. The pangas are small boats and you sit close to the water so make sure you take some Dramamine before setting sail if you’re not used to being in a boat. Juan Carlos was very informative when I reached out a couple days prior to our reservation. Make sure you bring cash because although I confirmed that morning that credit cards could be used, when I got off the boat I was told cash only. A minor inconvenience as there were 3 ATMs nearby that only give US dollars. However, be prepared to use US cash instead of cards. You will have to pay for fishing licenses, bait, cleaning the fish, and freezing and packing the fish to bring home. Someone not affiliated with Sushi Time will come to the panga when you’re back at the dock to collect your fish. Follow him/her to their cleaning/gutting station not far away. If you have over 10 lbs of cleaned fish they will freeze, pack, and deliver it to your hotel to bring home by plane. You check it as checked baggage with airline. Overall the best time in Cabo! We took our fresh fish to a restaurant that evening to feast on. Can’t wait to sail with Sushi Time again. Thanks!
We had a great time fishing and was able to catch some bonitas. It was a nice morning to sail the coast. The captain made out experience great and showed us how to reel the fish in.
My son and I went out with a man to fish. He baited four rods and placed them in a holder. He wouldn’t let us fish except for letting my son reel ONE in! There was no lunch or drinks for which we paid extra! This was really a scam!
