We normally go on this trip every year when we visit Cabo. I don’t know what happened but it really went down hill. The used to serve drinks and a nice Mexican based lunch and entertaining staff/pirate show. The lunch was sliced hot dogs and tortilla chips. Gross!. There was no entertainment/pirate show. This excursion used to be so fun!

Crew is absolutely amazing! Great interaction and so much fun! Snorkeling was a bit rough with the current we had, but the ride over and back was so much fun. Food was yummy too.
Please let people know the conditions of the sea before heading out. spent $119/person and was seasick the entire 4 hours. Not anyone's fault we get seasick but if we had known how rough the waves were i wouldn't have gone out. You do this for a living you know the conditions daily. A lot of people were miserable, throwing up and crying the entire time. no way off the ship. chips, salsa and a tail end of burrito was what was served. kind of a "pirate show" at the end of it but we were so sick i didn't care.
It wasn’t a good experience. There was only one of the crew members dressed as a pirate. It was boring. No pirate show, either. The food was tasteless and cold. It wasn’t worth the money. Would never do it again.
We originally had this scheduled for the previous day, but were contacted to reschedule to be able to snorkel due to weather. In any case, we weren’t able to snorkel on the rescheduled one either, but weren’t told until we were already out on the water. Beyond their control, I know, but would have been nice to choose to still go or look at another option. The crew was great, but geared more to a party atmosphere rather than family at this point 🫣. Inappropriate songs with explicit lyrics, and shouts to take “shots shots shots” which made some patrons quite rowdy and belligerent. Overall an ok time, but definitely some room for improvement. Angela, however, whom kept in contact about transportation to and from the event, and other details was AMAZING!
We had a great experience on our pirate ship and snorkel cruise! The crew were fantastic! They took great care of us throughout the day. We got great pictures at the arch and we were pleasantly surprised to see a mama and baby whale as we cruised up the coastline along with a pod of dolphins. The snorkeling in Chileno Bay was full of colorful fish and the lunch was a perfect ending to the cruise. I thought it was a great value for the price and we had only 10 people on board with us!
I have to say we were very disappointed. Lunch was ridiculous! Extremely salty hot dog wieners no hot dog buns , just hot dog wieners , not edible. Pasta salad? Where's the Mexican food? Why are we getting pasta salad? That was disappointing. Some kind of burrito wrap with I don't even know what was in it and helped the hunger but the whole lunch buffet was horrible. Unfortunately , everybody that went in the water to snorkel , got stung by jellyfish. I would think you would be able to tell if there were jellyfish in the water before people got in. They said it was jellyfish season. Who wants to pay that kind of money to go snorkeling during jellyfish season. And what kind of show was supposed to be put on? There was nothing. They did gather all the kids together for a few minutes, but that was not entertainment. The 3 of us vacationers were not happy.
Our family of 5 had a wonderful afternoon on the snorkeling tour. The boat ride out past the arch was nice. The drinks were plentiful and lunch was good. Snorkeling was fun, tons of fish were around us. Jumping off the boat into the water was a highlight for the kids. On the way back we were lucky to encounter a family of whales and had amazing views of the whales breaching. We loved it!
This was a fantastic trip. The staff was wonderful. The lunch was yummy. We saw so many whales and jumping stingray.
We booked the Pirate Ship excursion in Los Cabos through our resort, Krystal Grand Los Cabos, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip! The experience was so much fun from start to finish and is especially great for families with kids. The tour was about four hours in total and felt like the perfect length—long enough to enjoy everything without feeling rushed. The excursion included a really good, hearty lunch and an open bar, which was a great bonus. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed throughout the trip. We were taken out to see the famous El Arco, which was beautiful, and along the way we saw lots of whales and even a stingray—such an amazing experience! After that, we stopped at Chileno Beach for snorkeling. The water was clear, and we saw plenty of fish. They provided all the equipment, including snorkels and life jackets, with sizes available for both kids and adults, which made everything really easy and convenient. There was also entertainment on board with games and activities, which kept things fun and engaging the whole time—especially for the kids. Overall, this was such a fun, well-organized excursion with great staff, good food, and amazing sights. The price for everything was good too. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Los Cabos, especially families looking for a memorable and enjoyable day out on the water.
Booked this via Princess Cruises as a shore excursion. Took 3 teenagers and had a blast. So much fun. Great photo moments, amazing food and drink!
Great experience So much fun! We were actually a bit late, because our shiip didn’t let us deport on time and this excursion waited for us
Went with my sister's and this was a great excursion. Food was good, and lots of it, drinks were just as good and as much as you want. This was the highlight of our trip.
The ship ride was great, and the crew was super friendly. I took my 2 boys aged 4 & 7. This is advertised as kid friendly, it is not. There is a picture of a pirate in this ad but there were no actual pirates in the boat. The ride took about 45 min to get to the cove and they had no activities for kids. Just music playing, no entertainment at all. The lunch was good, and the kids at the food provided. Next time I’d leave kids at home and go with friends as this was an open bar.
The food was really good, staff was amazing but the overall experience fell short. The boat ride took forever to get where we would be staying, the water was FREEZING, it was too deep and dark to see anything and the water was super choppy so it felt like we spent more time fighting the waves. The tour guide we booked with promised us a “treasure hunt” for the kids, where they dive for keys and only one opens the chest. Nothing close to this. We sailed out, the music blasting and drinks flowing, to snorkel for ten minutes (everyone was cold and got out) before eating and heading back. I’d say it’s more a glorified booze cruise than a family friendly excursion.
Excellent trip. The crew has a lot of energy and they keep the drinks flowing! We got to see many whales! This time of the year is the best to see whales. Thank you for a great time!
We just got off of the ship and we had an excellent time. The crew was friendly, helpful and fun to be around (Great show). They were all very helpful preparing everyone to snorkel assisting them off of the boat. They kept the drinks flowing (Mixed drinks and beer) and the food was very good. We spoke a lot with Fernando (excellent break dancer), thank you for everything. We would also like to thank the entire crew for making our trip great.
OMG we had the best time on this trip. The staff interacted with us and we made some friends. I would definitely recommend this experience. Thanks y'all.
We had a good time on the lunchtime Pirate Ship snorkel trip. The crew were very attentive and entertaining. The watermelon agua fresca as you boarded the boat was a nice treat. The snorkeling itself isn't great. The visibility wasn't super clear and because of the size of the boat, you cannot get too close to shore where there are more fish around the rock formations. But the water was refreshing and we enjoyed just being in the water. You have to be able/willing to jump off a platform into the water and it is a bit of a struggle to get back onto the boat. We were in the water for about 45 minutes total. The food itself is just OK, but the guacamole was fantastic. Plenty of water & other drinks (alcohol or non) available at all times, and good music playing. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves just for the general experience. If you are looking for some serious snorkeling, I would recommend a smaller boat/tour.
We took lunch tour but there was no crews wearing as Pirates or of course absolutely NO show at all. Also the ship didnt sail near the Arc as I saw others did. Absolutely disappointed for the value we paid! $100 each!!
We barely got to jump off the ship, people were constantly going up when people were trying to jump so it slowed the line and they tried cutting off the line because of time so some didn’t even get to jump, I barely was able to make the cut. Then you couldn’t even see any fish at the location and the waters were rough where they took us. The lunch wasn’t much to boast and write home to, my daughter ended up feeling sick after the lunch and she never gets sea sick; we danced with some other guests which was fun and the show was actually entertaining.
There were no pirates on board...it was one big party pirate ship. It was "fun" but not at all what is described. Snorkeling was you jumping in the water them throwing out meat and a few fish coming and then get out. Lots of college kids hardly any other children. Staff was nice. So if you want to actually go snorkeling I wouldn't recommend. If you want a party ship with unlimited booze this is great for you.
Amazing!!!! So much fun. The staff aka pirates are amazing. Full of fun, friendly, put on a good show. They interact with children and adults. Open bar is awesome and attentive, food is good and snorkeling is fun. They do a little find the key to the treasure thing thats fun. Didn’t see a ton of fish snorkeling but it was still enjoyable. On the way back they do a fun show, interact with the guests more (kids and adults) and we also had a lot of whale sightings (2/29/24). For the cost it’s definitely worth it!! Super fun!
The lunch cruise was so much fun! We got to stop by the Arch and take pictures on our way out to the bay. Once we got to the bay to snorkel, the crew was extremely friendly and prepared for the really strong currents we had. We saw so many fish and the bay was gorgeous! On our way back, we were served a delicious lunch and the crew had a movie trivia game prepared. The highlight of the day was seeing a mama and a baby whale. Overall, the tour/experience was a 10/10. Only suggestion is to bring your own towel because there aren’t any on board!
Can't review them when they cancelled with me via text day prior while I was on cruise ship. Was supposed to be 2/20/24 for Pirate boat. They wanted to either reschedule for Catamarans Cabo Escape or do the Pirate boat on 2/21. Granted we had 2 days in Cabo but already had plans. I asked if the Catamaran was kid friendly since we had 3 kids 7-12. The response I got was, All our tours are family environment, but the best choice for families is The Pirate Boat... I responded I needed to check if I could move my excursion for Wednesday and asked if I was unable to do so if they would be refunding me. They responded that "from our end we are able to reschedule, if you wish to cancel you would have to contact Trip Advisor since I made through them" Long story short I was not able to swap and contacted Trip Advisor and they were great and had to send email to confirm and issued my refund which took about a week. Disappointed they cancelled and even more so that I saw several "Pirate boats" including what I thought was the Buccaneer Queen so no clue what happened.
This was the most worth it excursion we could have chosen! The "pirate ship" is for all ages. We had the open bar, they served us lunch, and the crew was awesome. It was a great experience and we had so much fun.
This was the best pirate excursion we have ever been on. Would definitely recommend this family friendly excursion. If we ever get back to Cabo we WILL be doing this again!
Prediators. - The crew isolated my daughter from the group after she found a key that was part of the game. They wanted to do something to my daughter and their intentions were bad. DID NOT FEEL SAFE.
Predators. Young women please be aware. They had a game that If you found the key in the water you would win a certificate. I happened to win. They proceeded to ask me if I was a good diver and had me take off my life jacket in the water, I dove a couple times to get the key he had on a string but it was difficult due to the water pressure, then told me let’s swim to the side of the boat where it may be more shallow, which of course was not because we are pretty Far from the beach. I still didn’t have my life jacket, then said let’s go closer to the reefs, gave me back my life jacket and Used ans a floatie and the two other guys came with with , so three men total, now i am isolated from the group on the other side of the boat where no one can see me. We are far enough away from the boat and far enough away from land. They separated me from group on other side of boat in the water, 3 men with their lifebuoys and fourth staying watch and took my life jacket again and I said why do we have to go way over here and he told me it’s for the experience, and I said well why can’t my Mom and sister be with me and he said come on we are friends, I then said no I don’t know you guys. I look back towards the boat And there was another man looking at us and I asked if we are leaving and he said no and put a thumbs up, as if he was keeping watch. They wanted Me to dive for the key, and in that moment I didn’t want to find out what happened if I dove and came back up, so I said no I don’t care about the key or winning and I swam back with no life jacket to the other side of the boat. It Wasn’t right and it was weird, my Gut said something isn’t right. And if any girl who would have been drinking and would not have been a strong swimmer would have been left really vulnerable from all that swimming and diving . I just think if I came out of the water, two guys could have held me and my Mouth and the other would have been free to do as he pleased with the other guy keeping watch. We were in the water granted but these guys are good swimmers from doing these Excursions often with lifebuoys and myself with no life jacket. I don’t know why all three had to come just to watch me Dive for a key and no one else in the water watching the group. We booked this trip through the little hut on the harbor boardwalk right next to the legends sports bar. Ladies please, I don’t know how long they have been doing this for and I wouldn’t want it to happen again. It wasn’t right.
Awesome experience, highly recommended. From the welcome reception area which happens to be a restaurant and bar (which we bought the Berry Mojito & Black Panter while we waited to board) to the crew, ship, and food we will definitely go again the next time we go to Cabo. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner before we boarded the ship. The crew was very hospitable, the ship was clean and tidy, and everything had its place. We were lucky enough to see humpback whales on our tour which was not even part of it but the captain made it possible. The MC was hilarious and gave a ton of energy which helped the tour. The food was good and plentiful. They took great photos of us at the arch that we ended up purchasing. Due to the hurricane, the water wasn't very clear so we didn't see much fish while we snorkeled. However, it was my daughter's (7) first time ever snorkeling and swimming in the ocean where she couldn't put her feet on the bottom.
BLUF: Viator has a terrible customer service and it's all on you to get information/refunds. I was really looking forward to the tour and we knew it was on the edge of happening due to bad weather , so I checked my emails and messages regularly the day before and the morning. We made the trip from San Jose to Los Cabos (about 35 one way in an Uber, 50 in a taxi or 90 USD a day for rental, not sure how much the mass taxis are) and when we arrived to check in, the local already knew who we were, as we were the ONLY ones left on his list, which have not been informed about the cancellation by their tour provider (Viator). Not only were we not informed, in order to get refunded the cancelled trip, it was up to me to call them and initiate it. If you book through a local company that happens automatically. Very sad I didn't get to go since it was supposed to be for my birthday, and even more disappointed about the experience with Viator/TripAdvisor. Lesson learned. Picture from the day in Las Cabos.....no Buccaneer Queen in the harbour.
We had such a great time. My boys enjoyed the show, food and most of all they loved snorkeling. The adult Drinks were on point. Thank you captain shark 🦈 and crew.
My son and I had a lot of fun. We enjoyed our lunch and the crew was awesome!! I'd definitely do this again!!
It was super fun! My husband found the key and swam down to get it and we got a “pirate certificate” got to see tons of fish and tiny jellyfish! I would definitely recommend!
We had a great time. This is our second time on this excursion. The ride was beautiful and entertaining.
Great experience, especially for the price! The crew was entertaining, the food was good, and the boat was cool. The fact it was an open bar was the icing on the cake!
Had an amazing time on this excursion. Booked through our cruise ship and glad we did! Captain shark and crew did not disappoint. Funny, personable, and helpful. 10/10 would recommend. Will go again when we return to cabo
This ship was great! The staff are energetic and very nice!! Antonio was awesome along with all the other staff. Everyone made it so fun for adults and kids. Definitely recommend!
Antonio, DJ Gato, and the staff were amazing! The cruise was extremely fun and safe for kids as well. The entire experience was upbeat and festive! Even as an inexperienced swimmer, the staff were extremely safe and patient. Please try it out!
Don't let the "Pirate Ship" in the title fool you! This excursion is just as much for adults as it is children 8+ (if not more so)! This is one of the best excursions that I have done while cruising and it is the direct result of the pirates running the ship! They are a group of talented and charismatic individuals having a great time to show YOU a great time! This excursion would have been an incredible deal, as described by Princess Cruises, but also included drinks and a delicious lunch after snorkeling, which really put it over the top in value. The pirate crew included a captain (skilled at maneuvering a pirate ship), a charismatic MC (Captain Shard), dancers, a photographer, bartenders, a DJ, and a paramedic. They are prepared for anything! After some drinks and a scenic cruise that took us up close to Lover's Beach and Arch, we sailed to calmer waters for some snorkeling and swimming fun. All equipment was provided and clean! After snorkeling ended, we were surprised by a delicious plated lunch and an incredible pirate show while sailing back to the dock. I cannot emphasize enough how much energy and effort the pirate crew puts into ensuring that you have the time of your life in Cabo San Lucas! This excursion is NOT to be missed! Don't forget to bring some cash (USD accepted), so you can purchase some pirate extras such as pirate t-shirts, pirate/captain hats, and professional photos. I will absolutely do this again the next time I am in Cabo San Lucas!
So disappointed. Years ago, I did a similar experience where the crew dressed up as pirates and gave a wonderful history of the area and pirates in the Sea of Cortez. This was . . . not that. This was 100% a booze cruise, just on a replica galleon ship. They did not sail at any point, just motored around. The music was SOOOO loud. I left with a pounding headache. The food was edible at best. There was no pirate show at all just shouting into the microphone and some games. The snorkeling was good but the crew had no idea what kind of fish we were seeing. When I asked they said "a lot of different kinds." They also do not go to Chileno and Santa Maria. It's one or the other, not two snorkeling stops like it says on the website. The worst part was how much people were drinking BEFORE snorkeling. I have never been on a snorkeling trip where they serve alcohol before allowing people in the water. It felt so unsafe. My daughter is a lifeguard, and she was terrified she was going to have to rescue a drunk swimmer. It really ruined the trip for us. To the crew's credit they had a ton of energy and did try to make things fun for everyone. I'd recommend doing a regular booze cruise OR a snorkeling trip OR the pirate show trip. Combining all three just did not work at all. Also there is a hidden "marine fee" charge of $5 per person that they don't disclose in advance.
Forty four guests from our daughter's wedding attended our event on this pirate ship. All ages partipated - from 7 to 80, and every age group in between. We had high expectations for a fun day on the water, snorkeling with friends and family. Before the event, guests were asking questions: would there be a full bar, would there be music, what should they bring (snorkel equipment, towel, etc.). The answers were all 'yes, everything is covered, but BYOT.' Brought the towel, but dried off so quickly I didn't use it. As we waited in the wharf bar to board the ship, there was a lot of anticipation about what the day would bring. And then Tony walked in wearing full pirate garb, and we started to get a feel for how the day would go. Once everyone settled on-board as the theme from Pirates of the Caribbean played, Tony introduced the crew (including the paramedic), and gave an orientation of the boat, safety considerations, and an overview of the day. Not just an orientation though, it was a full-on production using the ship's ample sound system. The captain got us underway and the DJ took over, getting the partying into full swing. Yes, they have a DJ! And to think some of our guests asked if they should bring a bluetooth speaker! We danced and partied our way to the snorkeling site. Having snorkeled in numerous places, including Hawaii and throughout the Caribbean, I will say that there was not a lot to look at besides a few fish. And there were a few minor jellyfish stings that subsided very quickly. But floating around in the warm ocean was fantastic. Back on board, lunch was served to more great music. Several guests commented to me that the food was even better than the Hyatt Ziva where we were all staying (if you've never been to the Hyatt Ziva, this is VERY high praise!). After lunch we were treated to a pirate show. I won't spoil it for you, but suffice it to say that the crew is very talented! In all, the day was wonderfully unexpected and SO MUCH FUN. Everything about this excursion was over the top. In fact, the groom repeatedly told me that the event was even better than the wedding (which itself was incredibly fun). Our time in Cabo was amazing, and, for the people who stayed after the wedding and joined us aboard, the pirate ship was truly the highlight!
Great excursion for the family, the crew entertains you the entire time. It’s a bit cheesy, but that’s part of the fun.
This was a DELIGHT! Captain Shark and his crew had us well entertained. Everything ran smoothly, we had plenty of alcohol (plus a delicious lunch), and the snorkeling experience was very memorable. Definitely a highlight of our vacation, and lots of opportunities for good photos.
They where amazing everything was planned out, entertaining from start to finish. The shows the snorkeling the food all very good my second time in Cabo and my favorite ride so far
Such a fun experience! From the pirate show to the treasure hunt, you won’t be disappointed! Oh and the drinks from the time you board the ship!
Gracious crew and we saw some whales! They kept drink in hard and they were overall just so kind. We had a great time
This was such a fun experience!!! All the pirates provided an amazing experience!! The showmanship, bottle service, and overall energy on the boat was memorable!! It was a great excursion!!! Highly recommend!! I
Absolutely a blast the crew was amazing and made sure everyone had a good time! Food was great and of course the alcohol was unlimited! I highly recommend
