Los Cabos Small-group Scuba Diving Experience For Beginners

We had the best day! He was so patient and answered all my questions and soothed my nerves with him instructions. I highly recommend this for anyone interested in trying scuba diving. I felt safe at every step.

We had a great 1st dive with Sonia and SunRiders. The boat and equipment was in good condition and safe. my son’s fist dive and Sonia went over everything that was needed. Saw tons of fish including puffers, angels, triggers. Would recommend this shop again.

DM made sure I was comfortable and when we actually took the plunge, it was an amazing and very memorable experience.

This was such an amazing experience for the first time diving! Angelo is incredible! He was so calm and wanted to make my first time as enjoyable as possible. I want to get certified and dive again, all because of the experience and expertise from Angelo!

We went Nov 8 2025 in the morning. THIS IS ACTUALLY FOR BEGINNERS. We had NEVER been scuba diving before. Angelo is an amazing instructor who focuses on safety. Although we both knew how to swim, it was not necessary. It is however necessary to remember to focus on breathing out of your mouth and NOT your nose. Angelo makes sure to take you through the proper steps to clear your mask, hand signals to communicate while under water, inflating/deflating your vest etc. We were fortunate to be the only 2 for our experience and it was wonderful. We got awesome pics and videos with tons of marine life. Puffer fish were swimming around us like little pets- they didn’t even puff and wanted to be petted (lol). The views were amazing on the trip out to the diving site and we got to see sea lions on the dock as well as the colony on the rocks. Alvaro was a great captain of our ship! We saw other companies that were diving with 10-15+ divers in the group and were grateful we were NOT a part of that! Angelo did a wonderful job keeping us calm We were actually in the water when the other groups had just gotten out which was another bonus. We are now looking to learn more about scuba diving and excited for our next opportunity to be under the sea🤿🐠 If I could give them a 10 star rating I would. THIS IS YOUR BEST CHOICE AND WE WOULD DEFINITELY CHOOSE THEM TO GO AGAIN!!!!!! Angelo also gave us some great recommendations for the local markets and restaurants! ***Also for transportation TAKE AN UBER! I was able to dive with my girlfriend who dives with sunrider every month. I was very impressed with Angelo thoroughly enjoyed my time. I would definitely dive with sunrider when I get certified. I can’t wait till I get certified. It was a beautiful dive and I’ve never seen so many fish, and Angelo was so attentive

Angelo was a great guide for discover scuba. We had a great time and saw some beautiful reefs and fish….even a white tipped shark.

We meet Angel at their shop on the Marina. He was welcoming and very professional. He walked us through everything. We were suppose to have two others join and to our luck we found ourselves on a private tour. Skippo our captain drove us out to the lookout point, allowed us to get photos and brought us to the snorkeling sight. Once there Angel stayed observant , helped guide me and also took underwater photos. I always felt very safe and enjoyed the full experience. I only wish we could have had longer snorkeling time but that is determined by your air tank. Thanks to the team for such a beautiful experience.

An amazing Beginner SCUBA experience. Our dive leader Sofia was friendly, confident, and very knowledgeable! The dive group was also broken up into smaller groups for an experience that felt almost private!

Instructor Angelo and captain Jimmy was extremely helpful for a first time diver! Angelo was super friendly and took his time for me to get used to the water and the breathing and to relax. Very professional and safety always comes first. I’ll tell you one thing it’s not as easy as it looks but hey the experience is totally worth it, and it’s something you must experience. It’s a whole new world under water. I couldn’t thank these guys enough for not only being patient with me but also helping me learn the beginner steps as a diver I HIGHLY recommend you guys do it and ofcourse make sure to get Angelo you will be pleased with the service! Great experience from beginning to end. First time diving in CSL & it did not disappoint! Very professional & helpful - even taking great videos & photos of our first father & son dive together. As beginner divers we could not have asked for a better experience in CSL! We read so much about the Aquarium of the Sea & after 25 years of visiting & just snorkeling & surfing the area, we finally got to go 40 feet under! It is harder to keep up with my teenager surfing, so decided to get more into SCUBA. Muchas Gracias!!

Angelo was an experienced dive master and did his best to make me comfortable on the dive. He pointed out all the different fish and it was a great dive.

We had a wonderful time doing our scuba diving class with Angelo. Highly recommend it for everyone. He even suggested us an amazing local spot for mariscos for afterwards, which was equally perfect.

The instructor Sebastian was patient and gave us good instructions before and during. We were nervous first time so it was great to have someone walk me through every step, even dealing with issues getting ears to equalize. We saw lots of fish and coral and even a huge school of cow-nose rays.

My 14 year old son had never scuba dived before and was a little anxious. From the very start our guide and boat captain were exceptional! They were informative, calming, and fun! We ended up doing an extra dive because my son couldn’t get enough of it!

It was amazing, Camila was an amazing instructor, she was patient, detailed and knowledgeable. She made you feel completely safe and relaxed. The captain of the boat was super kind, and very helpful the whole trip. Together they made this trip the best, planning on another dive with them.

We had a great experience with sun rider scuba diving beginner tour. Camila was very warm and cheerful when we went to the store and the dive master Rogelio and captain Pepe are very professional. Rogelio made sure that both us are comfortable before we go any deeper to the water. Through the dive, Rogelio stayed close with us two beginners and we both feel safe and protected with him around. We would definitely go back to sun riders if we go back to Cabos for diving again, and would recommend to our friends!

I highly recommend Sunrider for anyone wanting to test out scuba diving in Cabo! This was our first experience with scuba and I'm so glad we chose Sunrider to try it with! Not only did we end up with essentially a private scuba lesson, but Roger was incredibly patient with our lack of experience and explained everything we should expect and needed to remember before going in the water. I can't thank Roger and Jaime enough for making our short time in Cabo so memorable. We hope to be back soon for another diving trip with more experience!

An amazing experience. We went as a family for snorkeling and beginner instruction led diving. Rogelio was our instructor, and Jaime was our captain. They both did an incredible job and made us feel safe and relaxed the entire time. The boat was clean and spacious and we even got to take pictures by the arch after our trip. Rogelio was so patient, knowledgeable, and professional, and made our trip unforgettable. Highly recommend for everyone including first time divers, 5 stars!! Thank you to Rogelio and Jaime!

The coach Armando did very good job to instruct my beginner sons for first time scuba diving. Both boys were very happy for this tour and wished to try again next time. Armando's service is also quite good, he took several under water pics and sent to us. I stronggly recommended Sunrider adventure tours. next time when we go there, we definitely will try your service again.

I did a scuba diving beginner adventure with captain Jamie and dive instructor Armando. Armando explained all the safety precautions thoroughly and carefully. He was patient with me as I learned the ropes and ensured I could safely complete each task before moving on to the next skill. The highlights of the dive were seeing a school of rays and playing with puffer fish. I would highly recommend if you do a dive to ask for Armando and Jamie were polite, courteous and professional. They put our safety above all while still ensuring a memorable experience.

This is a must do actiivity! I was very nervous to try scuba diving but my husband convinced me to do it and I am so glad he did. Armando was an amazing instructor. He was very clear with his instructions, which made it easier to understand what was needed in order to be safe and successful at scuba diving. He is very patient and willing to spend the extra time it takes for you to understand the process. Our captain was fantastic as well. He was very helpful and informative. You also have the option to have him take videos and pictures while scuba diving for a VERY reasonable price. Highly recommend!

My girlfriend and I were in Cabo and decided to go diving. I have been diving for many years now, however, my girlfriend had never been before. We worked with our resort to schedule a two tank dive for myself and a discover scuba dive for her. We were booked with Sunrider Tours for our dives. I definitely wasn't sure what to expect. We met Armando at the dive shop. He was extremely personable and knowledgeable and made my girlfriend very comfortable as he saw she was a bit nervous for her first go at diving. He checked us in and fitted us for gear. Once we were on the boat, we met Captain Jaime, also very personable! During the trip out, Armando did a full briefing with us on what to expect. He went through the diving basics with my girlfriend, and kept her comfortable as we approached the divesite. During the dive, he stayed within reach of her, but let her explore. She did amazing for her first time diving and got to see sea lions at play under water, a turtle and plenty of fish! They also let me dive with her for my first tank dive, which was great as I was not sure if we would be split up or not. It was a great experience for her! After her discover scuba dive, Armando and I went out exploring for our second dive and had a great time! He took me to the underwater sand waterfall, which was very cool! After some great diving, the crew took us out to the arch so we could grab some close up pics! In all, we had a fantastic time and the crew was amazing absolutely amazing! I would highly recommend booking with Sunrider Tours and requesting Armando and Jamie!

We had so much fun scuba diving! 🤿 Our instructor Armando and captain Jaime made us feel so safe. The dive spot was only 5 minutes from the dock but it was such a beautiful place with such clear blue water! My husband has never been scuba diving and I’ve been once… over 10 years ago, they give you the training before you get in the water and make sure you are feeling safe the whole time! There were tons of fish and we even had a group of sea lions that were swimming with us! 🐠🐡🦭 We even got to see the arch. So fun and such a great experience! We can’t wait to see the video Armando took underwater! Whenever we come back to Cabo we will be using them again! Thank you Armando and Jaime for the BEST excursion!

I got lucky and landed a solo dive the day I signed up. My instructor Armando was incredibly patient and attentive! I can't speak for everyone, but breathing underwater is not something easy to pick up. It took me a good while to get the technique down, but Armando was very accommodating and once I got the hang of it we had a great dive. I recommend paying extra for the media package so you can have great memories. Muchas gracias Armando!

I had never done this before. My husband is a Certified Master diver and he knew I was interested. So we booked this through Amstar with Sunrider. I was really pretty scared but my instructor was great. Very informative and taught myself and other person everything we needed to know. He was right with us the whole time and always made sure we were okay... it was an amazing adventure and I loved it. Something I will never forget. The Captain and other instructor were also top notch. Made the event perfect.

Highly recommend! I book Sun Rider for scuba diving in Cabos with two of my nephews. I really liked that it was a small group. It was myself, my two nephews, and a married couple. For our group we had 2 instructors. The married couple, the husband had signed up to do 2 dives and the wife was just coming along. They asked if she wanted to snorkel while we dove and she said yes. The boat ride was 5 mins away so very close. The instructors were really patient. It took me a few mins longer than the rest to descend in the water and someone stayed with me. When we were all under water, they did great at pointing out the different sea life. The dive was about 40 mins and a lot of fun. When the husband went for his second dive, we all came. It was another short 5 min ride to the site. The rest of us had the option to stay on the boat or to go snorkeling. My nephews and I decided to go snorkeling. We had about 40 mins to explore as we pleased. The water wasn’t as choppy as the prior snorkeling trip and having fins made it so much easier to get around. Wish we had booked with Sun Tours for our snorkeling trip. It was a great experience and would definitely book with them again!

We had Chris as our scuba guide and and Eliel as our crew member for the boat and the entire thing was a blast! Chris was awesome under water, constantly made sure I was doing fine. His instructions were clear and he was very patient. When my wife discovered that she has a fear of scuba and got out, Eliel still helped her go snorkeling and showed her a wonderful time while I finished scuba diving. Two great guys that were super helpful, pushy in the right way, and super kind.

Chris Nova(pepe) was our dive instructor. It was my first time snorkeling and he was very professional, patient, safe and made sure we had a awesome time!

This is a must do excursion if you are looking for a new experience but don’t want to spend a lot of time or money doing it. The views were stunning and the photos and videos we got are absolutely cherished. We saw lots of wildlife and the beautiful arch. Most importantly, the team at Sunrider (specifically Dario!!) are so welcoming and knowledgeable about scuba. We cannot recommend this excursion enough!

I went with my two older sons and it was the 1st time we ever went scuba diving. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I felt safe at all times. They did a great job of explaining how to Scuba. It was an excellent experience.

It had been several years since I had been scuba diving and was looking forward to doing this again. It took me about 5 to 10 minutes to reaclimate to breathing underwater, and Eduardo, who was my guide/instructor, was extremely patient with me and gave me the encouragement I needed to proceed with the dive. He was excellent! Once we both were down, he showed me all the sights; the sand waterfall, lobsters, exotic fish, etc. I highly recommend to anyone, novice or experienced, to use this group! My name is Diana, I am Colombian and I visited Cabo for the first time. I had the opportunity to do this tour with Armando, who was my guide at all times. It was a unique experience that I would repeat without thinking about it. He taught me everything clearly so I could enjoy and learn as much as possible. the different species and marine life we saw. Captain Jaime took us on the boat, a very kind man who made my day very enjoyable, he helped me, he collaborated with me to take some very good photos and apart from that he gave us a ride. Armando was my instructor guide on this occasion, he was always very cool and attentive. He gave me all the necessary information as well as clear recommendations for operating the diving equipment. At all times I felt that everything was under control and thanks to that I was able to enjoy this experience to the fullest. So much so that I am going to return to do the PADI certificate with them. Captain Eliel was the one who took us and brought us well, attended and helpful at all times, I felt like going on a boat with a couple of old friends. Clean boat and in excellent condition. I'll see you for the certificate in a few months!
