Great experience. Guide was exceptional. Worth the cost. Bring sea sick pills. Small boat will get you feeling sea sick after a while.

Our captain and marine biologist work together to select the best route, maximizing your chances of unforgettable whale encounters while ensuring a safe and comfortable experience. The whale watching was absolutely delightful. We learned a great deal from the marine biologist on board and the captain was fantastic. They were great at helping to spot whales and directing us where to look.
I thought this tour was amazing Adrienne, the tour guide was super, and Adrian , the boat captain, was skillfl, helpful and very professional.
This trip was amazing ! Maria was outstanding ! Saw two momma’s and two babies !! Would not hesitate to recommend this company ! Perfect in every way ! Our photos were also amazing ! Highly
The guides were fantastic and gave a lot of great information. We saw quite a few whales. But be prepared for ferry, uneasy waters and take necessary medicine if you get seasick at all.
Excellent experience: Maria was the guide. Really enjoyable.
Great experience! Our boys loved it. Maria was great with our boys and so knowledgeable! Answered all of our questions and more
This whale watching experience was absolutely incredible for our entire family. My wife and two kids are still talking about it. As we walked toward the marina, we found ourselves guessing which boat would be ours. To be honest, we were a little concerned at first. Many of the boats looked smaller, and we were worried the ride out to the open ocean might be rough, especially with kids. The moment we saw our boat, though, all of that changed. It was spacious, comfortable, and handled the waves effortlessly. We felt safe and relaxed the entire time. Our guide, Adrienne, was outstanding. Her knowledge and passion for marine life really elevated the experience. She shared insights throughout the trip that kept all of us engaged, including the kids. Captain Freddie was equally impressive, navigating smoothly and clearly knowing exactly where to go. And then came the whales. We saw around five humpback whales, which alone would have been amazing, but what made it truly unforgettable was witnessing a full family group. We saw an escort whale alongside a mother and her baby traveling together. It was one of those rare, magical moments you can’t plan for and will never forget. This was easily one of the highlights of our trip. If you are considering a whale watching tour, do not hesitate to book this one. Highly recommend.
From the beginning when our tour was booked through the very end, our trip couldn’t have been better. The boat itself was clean and clearly well-maintained. The staff mirrored the same caliber. Captain Adrian, was visibly comfortable and knowledgeable on open water. Our biologist, Vanu, was infectiously passionate about the marine environment and casually wove in her own stories about the whales (and other species) we saw that day. Educating us in an accessible and informed manner. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and will build other Cabotrek adventures into our next trip!!
Great captain and guide. Highly recommend! Saw many breaches on the r morning tour.
The whale watching tour was amazing! Andrea was a very knowledgeable guide and took awesome photos. I was hoping to see at least one whale, but we saw so many! Mama and baby, breeching, fins up, tails up, it really exceeded my expectations. I liked how our boat kept a respectful distance away. I recommend getting the Cabo passport, it saved us $ on this trip and other activities!
The Captain was fantastic in finding whales! One group had 4-5 and they were just swimming on the surface.
Phenomenal experience with Andrea, our guide and photographer. Boat ride was awesome and she was so knowledgeable about all the marine life. We even got to see rare False Killer Whale Dolphins. Absolutely booking more tours here when we return.
Great Great communication with CaboTrek. Everything went exactly as described. We had a great trip with the captain and guide. She was very informative. They worked as a team to spot the whales and get us to them. They took about 200 pictures and air dropped them to my phone in no time when we got back. If you have the option to go earlier in the year, (March 13 2026) do it. We say whales breach - but this year the whales were on the way back north. Our friends went March 20,2025 and the whales were breaching last year too. It was the best whale watching we have done and I highly recommend CaboTrek. The also group us on the same boat with our friends the booked with Viator.
We had a great time with guide Andrea. She was very passionate about whales. We saw several groups of whales as well as a baby whale with its mom. We were also lucky to see a hammerhead shark. Great experience! Thank you!
What an incredible tour! Vanu did an amazing job leading the tour and Adrian was an excellent captain! I was so happy that I did my research and found this company instead of just booking an excursion with a big, commercially-focused company instead. This was one of the most amazing experiences and best days I've ever had. The price was fantastic for the amount of time we spent and the depth of the experience. I think it was about $100 each including any taxes and fees. The boats are for small groups, with a max of 20 guests, and our trip only had 6. Even if the full amount of people had been on the boat, everyone would have gotten amazing views since we were able to see them from different positions. The entire boat trip was comfortable -- we had a shaded (yet unobscured) area and an area at the front of the boat without the shade. There is a toilet cupboard on the boat, though no one needed to use it on our trip. Even if we hadn't seen the whales, it would have been a lovely boat trip with views of El Arco and other parts of the bay. This trip would be amazing for anyone who loves animals, science, the ocean, being outdoors, or all of the above. I knew some things about humpbacks and other whales, but I learned a lot from this tour. Additionally, I appreciated that Vanu told us that there are still questions about their behavior and other aspects of their lives that we don't know. The sign of a real expert is one who knows and admits we don't have ALL the answers and doesn't just adopt a pet theory. Besides, the questions are part of what makes these beautiful and mysterious animals even more interesting. My only regret is that I didn't have more time to take even more tours. I can't wait to come back for another visit so that I can take another tour with Cabo Trek! Maybe grey whales in Magdalena Bay or sea turtle release... So many amazing choices! Thank you Vanu, Adrian, and the Cabo Trek team!
A once in a life time experience, amazing animal in there natural habits. Thank you to Andrea and capitán for the amazing tour experience and photo taken that I can look back on. I would highly recommend whale watching with Cabo Trek.
Fantastic service and so.much fun! We had a great time and it was so informative! Love they use marine biologists on board.
Andrea and Andre were amazing. The whale sightings were PLEANTIFUL! We also saw seals, turtles, manta rays and pelicans. I was so impressed with this trip. Don’t miss it!
They take you in smaller groups which is nice. The guides are marine biologists who are very knowledgeable
Second time whale watching in Cabo via a tour. Was so much better than catching them from the beach. We saw many whales and lots of breaching and other movements. Guide Vanus was excellent as was driver. In years past I recall getting much closer but government does't allow that anymore.
This was our sixth whale watching a trip with this company . We have done five wale watching trips in Cabo, and one gray whale trip in Magdalena Bay. They have been incredibly accommodating, the marine, biologist, knowledgeable, but still friendly and funny. Whereas we saw many boats getting much too close to the whales, Cabo track respects their space. Could not recommend them more highly.
Adrienne (spelling) and Freddy were great. Saw whales, a few dolphins, and rays. The boat was roomy, they had an assortment of drinks. I will 100% book again in the future!!!!!
Highly recommend CaboTrek. We did the humpback whale watching tour and had an amazing experience with Maria and Freddy!
We had an amazing experience, we choose to do the 3 tour deal and did all 3 in one day which was great as you got to see the different behaviors at different times of the day. Lot so great pictures and memorable moments.
Went on a whale-watching boat tour with Freddy (captain) and Andrea (tour guide/photographer/marine life expert). It was a great experience, and I walked away knowing more about humpback whales and marine life in the Cabos peninsula. Andrea was very knowledgeable and it was clear she loved whales! We caught a few of them, some in groups, and a mother with her little one. I did not see any breaching, but we saw them swim and flap their tails. We even caught some males being aggressive to each other while trying to court a female! My favorite part was when we used the sonogram to listen to them singing underwater; magical!
Honestly, this was the best experience of our trip to Cabo San Lucas. Our tour guide Andrea was so knowledgeable and informative. The experience and pictures were amazing. I highly recommend purchasing the pictures from your excursion. The pictures that Andrea took were truly remarkable. Highly recommend!!
We very quickly saw both the whales as well as a pod of dolphins. Or guides were very knowledgeable and even got us out to see a whale breach!
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The crew was super professional and knowledgeable. Vanu was very friendly and knowledgeable as well. She is also an amazing photographer. Attaching one of her photos from the trip.
Efficient, well run, and a great experience. We were fortunate to see multiple whales both adults and babies. Our guide and captain both did a great job.
Amazing experience. Saw the whale several times and they jumped so we get to see the whale’s body. The captain Adrian and guide Vanu were very accommodating. Vanu told us a lot of things about whales and Adrian was very actively trying to get to the whale’s activities even on our way back. The boat was stable for the size and it’s covered so we weren’t under the sun the whole time. Over all saw a lot of activities and very comfortable. The hydrophone was very cool, too. We did hear the whales signing.
Loved our 8am private whale watching tour. Our marine biologist was the best. She did a great job taking pictures answering our questions and making the tour fun. Our boat driver was the great too. He got us in the best position so we could follow the whales and he took us to several different places. He was always on the lookout to find the best place. We followed a mom and baby for like 20 minutes and the baby was active flapping its arms and breaching. My family of adults loved every minute. We ended with a chance sighting of complete breaching adult whale, making my dreams come true. Book them, they are fair in price and pictures were gorgeous and $50 was much cheaper than clear boat $100.
I recently went on a whale watching excursion with Cabo Trek, and it was a FANTASTIC experience. The captain, Freddy, was brilliant at searching for whales, always positioning the boat in the best possible spot for excellent visibility while maintaining a safe distance from the animals. Andrea, for her part, provided constant updates on the whales' characteristics, as well as their breeding and nursing habits, answering all our questions thoroughly and knowledgeably. We saw two mother and calf pairs traveling through the Sea of Cortez, including an escort, very close to the shore, and also a spectacular juvenile whale performing numerous breaches (more than 30 jumps). ¡¡An incredible experience!!
Great experience, guide was fantastic; we say many whales and learned a lot from her. Would highly recommend to anyone!
The experience was lovely. Andrea, our onboard marine biologist, was informative, caring and professional. We saw a few breachings, and it was thrilling to have a closer than expected view of Mamas with their calves beside and under our boat. Thank you Cabo Trek for the beautiful memory.
AMAZING! Maria and Adrien were great guides and teachers. You can tell how passionate they are about the marine life. They were just as excited as we were to see the Whales. Maria captured amazing images of all the best moments. The ride was smooth and controlled. I will be going out with them again next time I visit Cabo!
Maria was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable
Andrea was exceptional! Our captain Freddy was superb! We had a fantastic tour and learned so much! I highly recommend the picture package too. Andrea is a great photographer! I have been on many whale excursions in Hawaii and this one in Cabo was FABULOUS! Highly recommend!
An incredible whale-watching experience! Within the first 40 minutes we witnessed at least a dozen full breaches between two whales — truly spectacular. We also saw several mama-and-baby pairs up close, which was unforgettable. Captain Freddy and V? (Can’t remember her full name…sorry V) the onboard naturalist/guide, were fantastic — sharing tons of interesting information about whales and their habitat throughout the trip. A great time all around — highly recommend!
From the very first spot after getting on the boat, we were lucky enough to witness humpback whales jumping and doing backflips right in front of us more than ten times. We had a wonderful time with our children in a relaxed atmosphere, enjoying the experience along with the guide's detailed explanations. We were extremely satisfied. We booked this tour based on the reviews, and our whole family was very happy with it.
Highly recommend! Lots of sightings and I appreciate their respect in not crowding the whales. Very knowledgeable. Highlight of the tour was when Maria put the hydrophone in the water and we could hear them singing to each other underwater.
We've probably taken 10-12 whale watching tours between Cabo and Maui over the past few years - our Feb. 19 trip with Cabo Trek was by far the best one ever! Captain Adrian and marine biologist/photographer Andrea (sp?) were fantastic and really got us to where the babies/moms/escorts were traveling. It was a small group (12), so everyone could be up front and see everything. Weather was perfect, we got to hear them "talking", and the number of whales we got to see breach in 2.5 hours was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend. Great for whale fans of all ages! We'll be back!
We did a 2 1/2 hour tour with Andrea and Adrienne, who hosted us on an amazing adventure, watching the beautiful creatures of the sea, humpback whales. We saw so many whales that I was even able to take pictures which I never get to do and it was a trip of a lifetime by far, our favorite whale watching adventure thank you for an amazing time and we look forward to seeing you on another adventure soon
We had a great experience and loved our guide Van who was also an excellent photographer. She was patient with all of my questions and I could discern her deep love and respect for the humpbacks. We saw a mom and calf, breaching whales and probably 20+ humpback sightings during our 2.5 hr tour.
My family and I went on the Humpback Whale tour and it was a great experience. Our guide, Andrea, was friendly and very knowledgeable, and we saw a lot of whales: babies traveling with their mothers, escort whales, and a few breaching whales. Being able to hear the whale songs with an underwater microphone was also cool.
Vanu was the best guide ever. She had a passion for the whales and protecting their environment. The trip started with an incredible close up view of the Pacific Window and the Arch. Iconic and magnificent. A picture can never do it justice. We then spent the next 2 hours following 3 different mothers and their new babies (a month or less in age) and escorts. Beautiful…thrilling..fun. A wonderful experience and one we highly recommend.
We would 1000% recommend a whale watching tour with Cabo Trek! Vanu & Adrian were absolutely FANTASTIC. Having a marine biologist explain so many things we did not know about whales and other ocean species was great! Thank you for the amazing tour. Best one we’ve had.
CAbo Trek always provides a quality experience, great boat captain, knowledgeable marine biologists on every trip, an respectful of the animals.
We had a fabulous experience on our whale watching tour with Vanu and Freddy! Vanu is a marine biologist and was very knowledgeable about the whales. We saw many whales and were quite surprised when they came so close to our boat and even swam right under it! The tour was a full 2 hours and 30 minutes. We can confidently say that it was the highlight of our cruise week, and are telling everyone about our experience, recommending CaboTrek for a great tour!!
Amazing experience whale watching with a group of friends. Andrea was an awesome tour guide and kept the kids engaged with lots of whale facts. We saw multiple sets of whales doing all kinds of tricks (breaching, pectoral slaps etc) and it was especially fun seeing the moms and baby whales. They were very skilled at finding whales and dolphins and we spent the majority of the trip very engaged. Would definitely recommend to others and would do again!
