My wife and I did this fun and informative culinary experience based off of reviews from this site. We couldn’t agree more with the high ratings. During this event we made some fast friends (the margaritas helped)! We did this on a Wednesday so the menu consisted of shopping for the ingredients and making pico de gallo, guacamole, street tacos and quesobirria tacos. Each day of the week features a different menu. It also included a lesson on mixing fresh margaritas and a tequila tasting at the end. It was informative and they will allow you to do as much of the prep and cooking as you want to. This is facilitated by a very entrepreneurial family that understands how to make you feel welcome.

The family made everyone feel welcomed. The history of the store as well as chocolate history was great! The chef wonderful and warm and the tasting fun!
Awesome experience with knowledgeable staff! You are engaged in every aspect of the process, from picking out your ingredients at the market to preparing and cooking them. Great for couples or small groups, and don’t leave before the tequila tasting with George
Chef is very engaging, entertaining and a lot of fun. Have done this twice and both times were tremendous, great food.
So much fun! We had a group of 6 and thoroughly enjoyed learning about the cacao, shopping ( tortillas amazing) and cooking!! Everyone one participated and the music and fun atmosphere excellent. I missing the mole right now and it’s only been a couple hours!!
A great experience for people of all ages. We brought our 17y.o. son & he enjoyed it. Joshua was fun! Apollo the dog was the cherry on top.
Karina was an amazing hostess who gave us a wonderful history of Cacao and Mole as well as a tasting. You can tell that she and her family love people, their familia, and their guests. From the class, the shopping at the market and the warm tortillas at the tortilla factory, it was an amazing experience. Chef Issy(sp?) brought us to his house to prepare a glorious feast including hand made margaritas (I will never use margarita mix again!) and a good time was had by all. This was the best experience and we will definitely do this again next time. I can not recommend this enough. Also, it was very clean/sanitary with plenty of opportunities for hand washing/washroom. Our new friends from the tour group were so much fun. Do it!
Food shopping allowed us to experience the culture more closely. And to prepare and cook the food we shopped for was amazing. The food was delicious. The presenters were knowledgeable and made the class interesting
This was a wonderful experience! The margaritas were to die for, and the food we cooked was exceptional! Well worth the expense for 4 1/2 hours of fun! We will definitely do this again on our next trip to Cabo!
What a fabulous day. First we all met and learned some history of Mole and cacao. Then, it was off to shopping to buy ingredients from local markets. When we got back to the kitchen, we learned how to make amazing fresh margaritas. Then it was pico de gallo, guacamole, and tamales. Truly a feast. Carina and Isse could. It have been better hosts.
This was a fantastic experience and we will return again each time we are in Cabo! We learned so much about the authentic local ingredients, visiting the markets way off the tourist path, and of course preparing and cooking our delicious meal. We can't say enough about Katina, Issi and the whole team who felt like our teachers and family in Cabo.
Expect to leave with a full tummy, an enriched mind and new friends as you learn to cook authentic Mexican dishes.
We loved this experience! The tour started with a little history on cacao with a tasting. We learned we would be making carnitas and Pasteur that day, this changes daily I believe, and then we went to a tortilla factory and a few markets to buy what we needed. Then we went yo the chef’s house for the class. We all helped prepare the food and had an amazing feast with margaritas. Thank you chef Izzy! Then we went back to the restaurant for a tequila tasting. Highly recommend this family run tour. The highlight of our trip so far!
Unforgettable experience. The energy was amazing. The food was spectacular and the margaritas I still make til this day! One of my favorite birthday experiences. My cousin and I felt very welcomed and comfortable.
We had a great time learning about the culture and cooking. Our guide was a great resource.
Worth so much more than you pay. I was surprised it included chocolate and tequila tasting and delighted it included churros and chocolate. Every part of the tour was timed perfectly. I expected to be hot and sweaty but it is entirely air conditioned. That made it more comfortable.
We booked a cooking class in Cabo and I’ll admit I was nervous going in — it was 90°F with 75% humidity, and I assumed we’d be cooking outside in that heat. Instead, they started us off in a nice air-conditioned room with a chocolate tasting, walking us through how chocolate is made, then moved into a mole tasting and explanation. From there we loaded into a well air-conditioned van and visited a tortillería, carnicería, and local market to pick out our ingredients. Our chef, Issi, then brought us to his home, where we made chile rellenos, pico de gallo, guacamole, salsa verde, salsa roja, and more — plus a round of excellent margaritas. Issi was patient and hands-on, walking us through every step, and the food was outstanding. He even shared his recipes with us afterward so we could recreate everything at home. This was genuinely one of a kind — highly recommend if you’re looking for an immersive, hands-on food experience in Cabo.
It was so fun being immersed in the culture. We learned some new techniques and the food was amazing.
Such an amazing experience we had the greatest time and everyone was included. We got recommended by a friend and would definitely be recommending more people
Great experience. The food was amazing and making it made it that much more fun. Essi is an amazing chef. And the group we were either was great to be around. We made some great friends.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What an amazing experience! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and truly felt like part of the family. The class was fun, engaging, and incredibly informative—we learned so much while laughing and enjoying every minute. You can tell how much love and passion goes into not only the food, but also making everyone feel at home. This was so much more than just a cooking class; it was an experience and a memory we’ll cherish. Highly recommend!
We had a blast learning from Issi & his family. They were fun, hospitable & so open to sharing their knowledge & their space with us! Me & my family would do any of their classes again.
Small group experience, delicious food. Issi, the chef was amazing and easygoing. 10/10 would do again!
So fun! Great experience! Staff were fun and interactive! It was hot though! Bring a fan and wear cool clothing!
This was great!! Made some great food and met some cool people. Made Paella, tortillas, guacamole, pico and margaritas. Had a great feast when we finished cooking.
This was an amazing cooking experience. We would absolutely do this again! Everyone involved in the tour was incredibly kind and friendly, and very inviting.
this excursion was the highlight of our trip to Cabo. Chef Caroline and her cast were amazing, from start to finish! we began and ended with tequila, something i did not like prior to this trip; Georgé was amazing! the Caroline welcomed us into her house for a cooking class that was much more like a family meal… we drank a margaritas and cooked, ate and laughed… boy did we laugh! if a return trip to Cabo appears on our agenda, i can assure you we will be visiting Sweet Caroline again… so good, so good!!
If you really want to have the most authentic culinary experience while visiting the Cabo San Lucas area, this is the tour to book! This family owned experience was educational, engaging, hands on and just plain fun! The best margaritas! Make sur you get thr qr code for the receipes! Will definitely do this tour again. Karen
So much fun!!! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our hostess and the wonderful group we had the pleasure of meeting. Food: 100! Drinks: 100! Organization: 100! Everything spot on except dont use uour hands to remove seeds from peppers... use a spoon or knife. My nails and cuticles burned for 12 hours. Otherwise highly recommend!
Greatly enjoyed the cooking and margaritas! Tequila tasting was awesome! Needed more time with the chocolate sampling…
This cooking class was fantastic! The history of cacao and mole was fascinating to learn. Issi was a gracious host who perfectly adapted the class to the varied knowledge of the guests. Highly recommend!
Very welcoming and fun. In fact the fun never stopped. By the end of the lunch we were all one big happy family.
This was an absolutely fantastic experience my husband and I both come out of backgrounds in the food industry. When we come back to Cabo we will definitely do this again!
We brought our family of 6 (all adults) and had an incredible experience! Karina was top notch - entertaining, knowledgeable and so fun. We drank, we ate, we learned and we had the best time! We will be back on our next trip to learn a new dish and have a blast! We have been to Cabo many times and done a lot of different activities, and this one was the best by far!
Great way to experience excellent Cabo, Mexican cuisine with lots of fun information and good times. We visited authentic markets to procure the ingredients, chopped cooked assembled and ate an amazing meal! We learned a lot also about cacao and mole and experienced wonderful music at the same time! Excellent driving and information beyond the food prep! Had great fun, making our own margaritas. Highly recommend for a group or individuals or anyone who wants to learn more about cooking excellent Mexican cuisine and who wants to enjoy a fabulous meal!
Was better than advertised, great experience!
This was so so fun! The whole team was so nice and wonderful. The food, drinks, and hospitality were 10/10. We also got to watch Mexico beat South Africa in the opening World Cup game!!! Highly recommend this experience.
It’s the best ever. Second time enjoying it. We were fortunate that the other people signed up cancelled so it was just the three us and chef Izzy said we could choose what to cook. We went to the tortilla store where they made them, the fruit and vegetables shop and the butcher shop. Went back to the house and participated in all the cooking chores and enjoyed home made margaritas. It was so much fun and a great way to enjoy authentic Mexican food. Was joined by Carolina who helped us making guacamole and salsas. She is so knowledgeable and friendly. She even remembered my granddaughter from two years ago. Returned to the restaurant and learned all about the cacao bean and had a chocolate and mole tasting. This is a family enterprise and it ahows
Super fun and informative! Everyone involved was great, it was extremely well organized and the chef is a great teacher. Would recommend for anyone interested and in cooking
Absolutely amazing experience! Great food and company!
Such a fun experience! We tried to keep the activists to a minimum because this vacation was about relaxing so this was our first one of two. Such an amazing experience. We had a blast with Carolina at their home. So warm and welcoming and inviting and amazing food. We had margaritas and the most fresh food you can imagine. It was just my wife and I so it was very intimate and everyone was lovely. Highly recommend and most definitely worth it for the cost.
Well organized event from shopping at the market to making margaritas (deliciouso) pico, red and green tamales. Then we all sat together to enjoy our creations. We received the recipes. Highly reccommend.
Fabulous on so many levels from shopping for the ingredients to learning about the local markets and types of peppers to the spices, cooking, history, etc. perfection all around.
Great chef Instructor Delicious Food Made it easy to understand and do at home Was so helpful with nut allergy
This is a great way to learn cooking techniques as well as the local food markets that are accessed by San Lucas chefs.
So much fun. This was a great experience. We made chile relano chicken enchilada, corn tortilla and more.
It was an amazing experience from beginning to end. It's a family owned business who has a local restaurant. We also got a mole talk. He took us shopping to the produce store and the butcher shop. We also went to the tortilla factory where tortillas are made for locals, restaurants. There was just 4 of us so we went to a house which was set up perfectly for this experience. We made most of the meal which we got to enjoy. We also learned the correct way to make margaritas which we also got to enjoy.
This is such an amazing experience! You are in a small group setting with 6-8 people. You get to go to the local markets before you start cooking. Everything is hands on so you learn a lot. At the end you do get all of the recipes you made plus additional recipes. I would definitely recommend this class!
This is a truly wonderful and fun experience, 10/10 recommend! Everyone was so kind and the food was amazing!
We really enjoyed this cooking class. Got lucky and had only 5 in the class. Went to the market to pickup some of the items we needed.the cooking was held in a private home which made it feel more authentic. We made some really good margaritas . Then made Pico de Gallo, guacamole ,and some salsa. Our main entree was chili rellenos and enchiladas . We were not rushed and throughly enjoyed the afternoon with Catalina our instructor. I would highly recommend this event.
