It was a great trip! The scenery, the different people were fantastic. Carlos our driver was the best. Fun, reliable and very educational.
One of the best tours in my life Juan Manuel was very professional, polite respectful and friendly I really recommend him
⭐ Rancho Tours – Day Trip from San José del Cabo to La Paz, Balandra Beach & Todos Santos My wife and I recently took a day trip with Rancho Tours from San José del Cabo to La Paz, with stops at Balandra Beach, Tecolote Beach, and Todos Santos. Overall, it was a beautiful day to explore some of Baja California Sur’s most popular destinations. 🚐 Travel Time The drive from San José del Cabo to the La Paz area takes approximately 2–3 hours. It’s a bit of a journey, but the scenery along the way makes it enjoyable. 🏝️ Balandra Beach & Tecolote Beach One of the highlights of the tour was visiting the famous Balandra Beach. However, there’s something worth mentioning for anyone considering this excursion. The tour takes you to Tecolote Beach, where you board a small boat for an approximately 10-minute ride to Balandra Beach. You don’t actually step foot on Balandra Beach itself. Instead, the boat anchors offshore, and you’re able to climb down a side ladder directly into the water. The water was incredibly clear, warm, and beautiful. We spotted a few puffer fish and other small fish swimming around. While the scenery was gorgeous, there wasn’t much else to experience during this particular stop. Afterward, we returned to Tecolote Beach for lunch at a local beachfront restaurant, which was included in the tour. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything to write home about either. It served its purpose! 🌴 La Paz, Baja California Sur Our next stop was the city of La Paz, which appeared clean and well-maintained. We visited a local jewelry shop, where employees gave a brief and interesting presentation about pearl harvesting. They also held a raffle, giving one lucky tourist a freshly shucked pearl. Of course, there’s an option to have your pearl mounted onto a piece of jewelry for an additional cost. We then spent approximately one hour exploring the Malecón, La Paz’s beautiful waterfront promenade. It was a nice opportunity to walk around, take pictures, and enjoy the atmosphere, although additional time would have been welcome. 🍦 Todos Santos Our final stop was the charming little town of Todos Santos, where we spent approximately 20 minutes. Although the visit was brief, we managed to enjoy some absolutely delicious avocado ice cream! We also had an opportunity to see an old Catholic church dating back to the 1700s. Todos Santos seemed like a town worth exploring further, so the short stop left us wishing we had a little more time. ⭐ Overall Experience Overall, we enjoyed our day with Rancho Tours. The weather was beautiful, the scenery was impressive, and it was a nice opportunity to experience several destinations in Baja California Sur in a single day. My biggest observation is that the stops felt somewhat rushed. However, being almost 50 years old, my body wasn’t exactly complaining about the shorter visits! 😂 Younger or more adventurous travelers might prefer additional time at the beaches and in the towns to explore and enjoy everything they have to offer. A special mention goes to our tour guide, Juan M. He was extremely knowledgeable about the areas we traveled through and shared interesting historical facts and stories throughout the journey. His commentary added value to the experience and made the long drive much more enjoyable. Would I recommend Rancho Tours? Yes, particularly for visitors who want to see several popular destinations without having to worry about driving or planning the logistics themselves. Just keep in mind that this is more of a sightseeing and introductory experience rather than an opportunity to spend extended time exploring each destination. And if you’re specifically hoping to walk along the sand at Balandra Beach, be aware that this particular tour only allows you to enjoy the water from the boat’s offshore anchoring location. All things considered, it was an enjoyable day exploring beautiful Baja California Sur, and we’re glad we had the experience!
Jaun and Only ( Jaun Manuel) was such an amazing guide. Spoke fluent Spanish and English- making all feel comfortable. He told jokes as well as historical facts! The beach was magical. I could have done without the pearl gallery and I would have loved more time in Todos Santos- but they day was so amazing- no complaints here!
J Carlos was really great guy, tour was amazing. He gave us enough time to explore beach, local store. Thanks Buddy!!!
Juan was great! The beach was beautiful, the amount of time allowed for each stop was adequate. The facilities to change your clothes at the beach were not great.
More beach time is needed for the long drive to Balandra Less time at La Paz And omit Todos Santos
Juan Manuel was an amazing tour guide. He accommodated both English and Spanish tourists and was very knowledgeable about the history of the country!
Long day but our driver Mario was helpful and prepared for our day.
This was a great tour with Juan Manuel as the guide. Very knowledgeable of Los Cabos. Luch at the beach was really good and service was excellent. Quick stop in Todos Santos was nice, I wish that was slightly longer. Make sure you have breakfast or bring a light snack as you will not have anything until lunch. You have time to change but I suggest having swimwear on. Change after. Bring your towels. Also bring cash in case you need it. Pearl shop and owner are lovely. I found a nice piece for myself. Yay!
Had a great time with my wife good fun with people we met beautiful tour
Our trip was fabulous! The beach was beautiful. Juan was our guide. He was very knowledgeable and spoke very clear English! Todos Santos was a quaint little town. We enjoyed the day!!
Mario was an incredible tour guide—knowledgeable, engaging, and full of humor! We learned so much and truly appreciated the beautiful places we visited. Highly recommend this tour!
The beach in La Paz was amazing, & our tour was great! But the itinerary was changed, I was not advised that I have to pay for a boat ride & we didn’t go to Hotel California as stated in the itinerary & took us somewhere else. Also, been trying to get in touch with the travel agency but never got a response.
Best part was meeting a few other great vacationers that shared the same feelings as we did towards this experience.
Amazing tour and Uriel was a fantastic guide. Food stops were delicious. The scenery and town were awesome. Made some new friend on the tour also. Highly recommend this tour! We will book this again when we return.
Flexible tour, waves high at tecolete so went Ibarr pottery store. La Paz is beautiful Mexican town and Dionosys shared rich history. Great garlic fish and flan for lunch & tamale for breakfast. Our group of 6 bonded from Playa grande.
La Paz - crystal clear waters .. the food served was not that great .. could do much better . Our guide was good.. disappointed with Hotel California .. nothing to see besides the sign
I consider the tour to be fine, however, for what it includes, there is not enough time. Or perhaps divide it to have 2 hours free at each point of interest to enjoy it well. The guide Carlos was excellent, he explained at all times and picked everyone up on time, gave suggestions, and explained curious details.
Unique experience in Playa Balandra and in La Paz. If you come to Cabos, do this tour. And thanks to Juan Manuel, who was our guide.
Good service Juan Manuel treated us well good weather
The places are incredible but they add extra costs to everything, including the most basic things like the boat you will use for the tour that should have been included in the initial cost which was five hundred per person The only redeeming thing was the guide J Carlos who made the trip enjoyable
Excellent service from Juan Manuel, driver of the vehicle and guide. Very pleasant and friendly.
Everything was excellent from the beginning
An excellent tour. Our guide, Juan Manuel, was very informative and very friendly.
Excellent guide and excellent tour
I took a tour to Balandra; I just want to thank the guide Uriel for his excellent work. I loved his attention, kindness, commitment, and the best part is that he told us the stories of the places. I enjoyed it a lot; more guides like him 😊, I would obviously return a thousand times.
Very kind the operator or driver
Excellent service from Juan Manuel, highly recommended and beautiful.
Our trip was with Juan Manuel. Excellent service!
The treatment of Mexicans is distinctive; foreigners are their priority, and although the rest of the tour went well and was pleasant, we left with a bad taste in our mouths.
Incredible! The guide (Juan) came with a lot of energy and has extensive knowledge of the places we visited. We stopped at Tecolote beach, then to Balandra (the most beautiful), and they let us stay for a little over an hour. After that, we went to La Paz, to the Malecon, and then to Todos Santos. At each place, we made stops for photos or snacks; without a doubt, I would do it again. Keep in mind that if they pick you up early, you should bring something for breakfast. They let us stop to buy something, but I don't know if all guides are the same.
All well planned, from the first moment we had good communication and clarified the doubts we could have. The tour very complete and the guide Juan always with a lot of attitude.
An incredible experience, the first day we traveled to La Paz to meet Balandra, malecón, tecolote and Todos Santos with Vicente and very friendly, excellent treatment. The 2nd day we visited the arch with EL CHINO and it was also amazing, very chatty and helpful. Both explained all the way the details of each place, treated us with respect, the vehicle clean and with water service, we will definitely return to take the service with them, deserve more than 5 stars.
Completely catastrophic tour company. They try to take advantage of tourists. They don’t have permits to access Balandra Park and they made us walk 15 min in the dessert to be able to access the beach. They told us not to say we were coming in a tour because they knew very well that what they were doing was illegal. The guide sucked. We lost a day and a lot of money. Avoid! Take another company!
We hired Rancho Tours expecting a pleasant family experience, but it was the opposite. The guide started with a negative attitude, saying that we would not enter Balandra. There was no seat for an 8-year-old boy (they intended him to travel in an icebox), the driver drove abruptly and we spent more than 4.5 hours in the van for unnecessary stops. Finally, we were left on the road without permits, forcing us to walk in the sun at noon with the child dehydrated. The time on the beach was just 1 hour, while the rest of the tour was shallow and rushed. In short: insecurity, poor organization and total non-compliance with what was promised. A great disappointment and a lost day of our vacation.
The follow-up was splendid, since I booked I was written to confirm, the transport is clean and Uriel is a great tourist guide, always fun, cheerful, patient, SLOOP is beautiful and the food we were given exquisite. I recommend doing this tour!! A great experience
