⭐ 1 STAR. I WOULD GIVE ZERO IF GOOGLE ALLOWED IT. Villa La Valencia Cabo San Lucas is NOT luxury. We stayed July 26 through August 1 with our family of six, including our two kids and my parents. We booked a two bedroom pool view suite and expected a luxury all inclusive resort experience. Instead, this was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences we have ever had. We specifically requested the two king bed configuration because we were traveling with my parents. We confirmed this with the concierge in advance, yet when we arrived at check in time, the room was not configured as requested and the alternative room was not ready. We initially declined the all inclusive package because we wanted to see the food prices. After seeing the ridiculous prices at the pool bar, we added it for all six of us. Cost: approximately $5,000 USD. Two of the four adults don’t drink, yet we were required to pay an additional $25 per person per day for the alcohol package. Then came the “luxury” service. We sat at the pool for over 20 minutes before anyone even took our order. The resort was supposedly in its slow season and the pool was nearly empty. Food took over 45 minutes. Then, despite having already purchased the all inclusive package before our food was served, I was handed a bill for the entire lunch. I went to the front desk and was assured it would be removed. I returned later that evening and was again assured it would be handled. It wasn’t. At checkout, I was charged for the lunch anyway. The explanation was that I had not purchased the all inclusive at check in. The timestamps proved otherwise. My all inclusive charge was processed BEFORE our food was served and before any restaurant checks were signed. I asked for a manager. No manager came. I was told someone would come speak with me, but nobody ever did. After 30 minutes of arguing, I had to leave to catch my flight. I was told they didn’t care if I missed my flight and that they would not provide a checkout slip so my family could leave. My kids were crying in the airport shuttle after watching me get frustrated with the front desk team, who simply refused to listen. No manager ever contacted me afterward either. I had to email the property manager myself. After a ridiculous amount of back and forth over an obvious mistake, they finally refunded the lunch charge. Exactly what they should have done from the beginning. I requested a greater adjustment for the experience and was denied. The food was mediocre at best, with the Italian restaurant and room service being the exceptions. The breakfast buffet was disappointing, service was painfully slow, and pool towels were frequently unavailable. The concierge experience felt more like a timeshare sales pitch than luxury hospitality. Once we declined, the attention disappeared. We travel frequently and have stayed at several Villa Group properties, including Villa La Estancia in Puerto Vallarta for our honeymoon. We also stayed at the Hard Rock Cabo just two weeks before this trip. The difference was enormous. We will forever be a Vidanta family. If you haven’t looked at Vidanta resorts, you should. We have consistently experienced excellent service and quality there and have never experienced anything like this. A beautiful property does not make a luxury resort. Luxury is service, accountability, and actually caring when something goes wrong. If you’re searching for a luxury resort in Cabo San Lucas, a family resort in Cabo, or an all inclusive Cabo vacation, save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere. One star because Google won’t let me give zero.

Unfortunately, my recent stay at this resort was disappointing, especially compared with previous experiences. The overall level of service has noticeably declined, and it felt like the resort has lost the attention to detail and hospitality that you would expect from a property of this caliber. The biggest issue was the lack of air conditioning in the restaurants. Trying to sit down and enjoy a meal in an extremely hot and uncomfortable environment was unacceptable. Dining should be one of the more enjoyable parts of a resort experience, but the heat made it difficult to relax and enjoy the food. What made matters worse was the attitude of some of the staff. Many employees appeared unhappy, disengaged, and as though they simply didn't care about the guest experience. There was also no manager or senior management visibly available on-site to address concerns or provide assistance when needed. I understand that things can go wrong at any resort, but what matters is how management responds and takes care of its guests. Unfortunately, that level of attention was missing during my stay. I hope management takes these concerns seriously because this resort has the potential to provide a great experience, but the current level of service and overall guest experience needs significant improvement. Based on this stay, I would have a difficult time recommending the resort or returning in the future.
This was an absolute awesome resort to stay at. The rooms were great and all of the staff were awesome. I had the pleasure of having pool side servers like Alessandro, Fernando, and Alma who all did amazing. They would learn what drinks we liked and bring them as they noticed ours were getting low. They were all very personable and attentive. The entertainment crew who ran things like aqua fit classes etc were awesome too. I did not get the other gentleman’s name who was very nice, but Daniel went above and beyond at his job. He is clearly loved by everyone, but he would go out his way when we were there to come see my son and niece and play different games or activities with them. One day he made paper boats to race, bottle cap races, water balloons, and much more. Our house keeper for the majority of the stay was Iris and she was super attentive and sweet ensuring our room stayed in great condition throughout the stay. At the pool when it got really busy there was an obvious wait for food and drinks, but that was to not fault of the staffs and hopefully most understand that. The only suggestion I would have is to try and keep up on stocking towels a little better, especially when it’s packed outside. Outside of that we have no complaints about our stay though and would highly recommend it! I can’t wait to eventually go back and I’m super grateful my first trip out of the country was such an awesome experience.
Our stay at Villa La Valencia Beach Resort & Spa was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The resort is stunning, with beautiful ocean views, immaculate grounds, and luxurious accommodations that made our vacation truly memorable. The staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure we had a wonderful experience. Every interaction felt genuine and welcoming. The food was outstanding, with a great variety of dining options and high-quality ingredients. We also loved the pools, especially the lazy river, which was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The spa was another highlight, offering a peaceful and rejuvenating experience. If you're looking for a luxurious getaway in Los Cabos with top-notch service, amazing amenities, and breathtaking scenery, Villa La Valencia is an excellent choice. We can't wait to return!
Villa La Valencia was one of the best all-inclusive stays we’ve experienced. The resort is not overwhelmingly large, but it’s spacious enough that you never feel crowded. There is a good selection of restaurants, though I would recommend booking Latitud, the steakhouse, in advance if you plan to dine there for dinner. We ended up choosing Latitud most nights, aside from two evenings when we tried La Taberna, the Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, the menu at La Taberna did not meet our expectations. On our second visit, we decided to return to Latitud, which led to a frustrating experience. We arrived right at opening and asked if we could wait for a table, making it clear we were happy to wait as long as needed. Jessica, the hostess, declined us twice in a manner that felt quite rude and dismissive, without offering an apology or any alternative. It was especially frustrating because we were not asking to be seated immediately, just to be added to a waitlist. It ultimately took a male member of our group stepping in to speak with her, and then following up with another hostess, before we were finally allowed to wait. The second hostess was much more accommodating and was able to seat us after about two hours. The contrast in service was noticeable and disappointing. There are not a large number of organized activities during the day, but we spent most of our time relaxing by the pool and really enjoyed it. One challenge was the seating situation. Chair-saving policies were only enforced at the adult pool near the ocean, so at the other pools you need to arrive early to secure a spot before chairs are claimed and left unused for long periods. Several staff members truly stood out and made our experience exceptional: - Raul and Rey from La Taberna were very attentive. - Daniel, the yoga instructor, was a lot of fun. He even gave balloons to the kids in our group and did morning yoga with my mom. - Adrianna, a hostess at Latitud and La Taberna, was fantastic. She helped seat us at Latitud when we decided not to return to La Taberna and even started recognizing us after a few days. - Vincente and Adrian at the pool were excellent. They were attentive, offered great drink recommendations, and even helped us find chairs by keeping an eye out when spots opened up. - David, Jose Luis, and Maria at El Patron breakfast provided consistently kind and attentive service each morning. Maria in particular was incredibly sweet, and it was disappointing to see some guests treat her rudely. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The resort itself is beautiful, and the staff, for the most part, truly made the experience memorable. However, the interaction at Latitud was a low point and could benefit from better guest handling and communication.
