I want to make something very clear- this is not for the Grand Solmar. This review is for the Solmar Resort. This is tough for me to rate because my kids liked this resort but my husband and I were not fans. Even though we had a reservation checking in took way too long. There was something wrong about our reservation and it was unclear when my husband booked it and desk staff was not accommodating or friendly. So that kind of started us off on the wrong foot. The rooms were extremely dated- like straight out of the '80s. Although it was nice having a kitchenette and the rooms actually had nice space. I also did not like how far it was from the room to the pool and to the beach. Yes, it's located 'on the beach' but it is quite a walk and not a great view. And speaking of the beach- you can hang out on the sand and walk along the beach but you can't get near the waves. You do not get access into the water because of how strong the current is. So if you want to get into the water you need to stay somewhere else. I will say the all-inclusive part is what my kids love the most. They never had to ask me if they could order something (they are young adults). And they really appreciated that freedom. I will say the gentleman who was the host at the pool with the activities had an amazing personality and he was a lot of fun! I would say the food was okay. My kids loved getting all the smoothies and my daughter liked the sushi. My husband and I had a great breakfast every morning. We stayed there a week before it got really busy in March for spring break. Also, it was very peaceful. If you are a bit of a walker you can actually walk from the hotel to downtown Cabo. There is a lot to see and do there as well.

Location is perfect! It is close enough to the town center and marina but not as much as to hear all the fuss, so it is really quiet. The staff, all of them were outstanding, super friendly. The food was excellent, and the American breakfast was amazing, with big portions. It is located in an almost private beach, that only a few resorts have access, even though the sea is very rough with strong waves that crash near the sand, and you cannot swin in it, is really beautiful and peaceful to hear. Further, it can give access to the divorce and lover's beach if you are up to a little hiking/(easy) climbing up rocks. The room and the resort itself is really clean, the room spacious with great shower pressure, and with perfect air conditioning conditions. I loved to stay there, and would go back again. The swimming pool is big enough, the water is nice and warm, and they have a good jacuzzi outside. The only bad thing was that They won't let you get an uber from within the resort. You need to walk (even though it is just about 100m) to the main gate, to the Uber. It was not a problem at all for us, until we needed to check out, because we had to carry our suit cases to the main entrance, and thar was a bummer.
WOW! Amazing 1000/10 experience. We stayed here under resort for a day while cruising. A huge shout out to Alexis and Alfonso for the top tier service. They stayed on top of our drinks and food, treated us like royalty. They joked and had fun with us! The Senorita at the front desk checking us in was super sweet and very knowledgeable. We did water aerobics with the activity director and he was FUNNNNNN!! He got everyone in the best mood and had us working out while tipsy. He made working out fun like it was just playing in the pool. It was the best experience. We played beach volleyball and did a cornhole tournament. The sushi was amazing as well as the ceviche. Both were so fresh and good! The views there are unreal! We are already planning a trip to come back and just stay at the resort.
This was such a magical resort experience! The vacation of my dreams! The room was perfect, and all the staff members were so friendly, professional, and kind! We felt so welcomed! Special shout out to Marco, Orlando, and Margarita! Thank you all! We will definitely be back!
Our Solmar stay was perfection! This was our first time visiting Cabo and of course trying to find the right place was hectic. We are beyond happy that we chose to stay at Solmar. The staff at Solmar was very kind, helpful and very promptly to all our needs. Manuel always took amazing care of us at breakfast always keeping our cups of coffee full. Gerardo was always friendly and keeping us happy with his kindness at the pool area. Omar and Arturo were very kind at the pool area as well always offering refills and making sure we were taken care of. Damian always kept us trying new dishes at dinner and he was always friendly and spot on in his suggestions! The food at Trebol and Tejaban were delicious. From breakfast to dinner everything was delicious with so many options! Solmar location was amazing. Never stayed at a place where you can watch a sunset and sunrise right from the beach up front. We were also very lucky to go during whale season and were able to see them right from our balcony! The views are just spectacular of the mountains and cliff views. There is a private hike you can take nearby. The marina was only 10 min walk from the hotel. You can take cruises, sunset sailing and many other activities right from the marina! So if this is your first time visiting Cabo I highly recommend Solmar as it's so close to everything. The room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The views from our balcony were breathtaking! We can't thank Solmar staff enough for making our vacation of our best experiences of Cabo! We hope we can come back and enjoy more experiences!
