Would I recommend this resort for families? Unfortunately, no. I'd suggest saving your money and booking somewhere else. We chose Royal Solaris because the kids' area looked like it would be a highlight of our trip, but it ended up being one of the biggest disappointments. I'm not sure if the area is supposed to be supervised, but anyone could walk in and out, with or without a child. As a parent, that was concerning. My 7-year-old even rated the kids' pool and water slides 0/5. Food & Drinks The food was very hit or miss. We had a few decent meals, but nothing that stood out, and several that were disappointing. The drinks were average—nothing terrible, but nothing memorable either. Customer Service – 1/5 This was probably the most disappointing part of our stay. Check-in felt rushed, and the front desk gave us almost no information about the resort. We weren't shown how to use the app, given a tour of the amenities, or asked if we had any questions. Throughout the resort, customer service was lacking. Staff rarely greeted guests, checked in to see how things were going, or asked if we needed anything. It didn't feel welcoming or hospitable. Pool Area Be prepared for guests to "reserve" pool chairs as early as 7–8 a.m. by leaving towels on them. Even though signs clearly state that chair reservations aren't allowed, the staff didn't seem interested in enforcing the policy when we asked. A Few Things to Know Before Booking The resort uses color-coded wristbands, and it definitely felt like guests were treated differently depending on the color of their wristband. This is also a timeshare property, which I didn't realize before booking. Be prepared for timeshare sales pitches during your stay. Final Thoughts Royal Solaris didn't live up to our expectations, especially as a family resort. Between the outdated facilities, disappointing kids' area, inconsistent food, poor customer service, and lack of enforcement around the pool, we left feeling like there are much better options in Cabo for the price. This was our family's experience, and while others may have a different one, we wouldn't return or recommend it for families.
Me and my mom stayed at Royal Solaris for one week. It was definitely an awesome stay. We would totally come back. Food was pretty good We liked the Italian restaurant The Mexican one was just ok because we would order something and it would take forever while they were just watching the Mexican World Cup. The room was great always clean after the keeper came The pool was always nice The ocean view is beautiful when me and my mom booked this trip. We didn’t know that we couldn’t swim in the ocean. We were upset, but after we got to the resort, it was ok there was things that made us forget about the ocean. There is two slides to go down we wanted to go, but my mom wasn’t allowed. Honestly I feel like you guys should just make the slides for everyone. Some of the staff could be nicer like the people that work at the pizza! Pizza was really yummy though but the rest of the staff at first, I didn’t wanna leave the resort but after it was completely safe.it was amazing! we had an awesome time.!!!
In short: Based on our experience, the seriously negative reviews of this resort are dramatic and truly exaggerated. Was it the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in? No. Was it worth the cost for an all-inclusive one week stay with young kids? Absolutely 100%. Any major complaints? None whatsoever. In detail: The rooms are clean and well appointed with everything you need, and the housekeeping was thorough. Our room was very quiet as it was located far from the elevator, which I requested. The grounds are attractive and well-maintained, and the beach is super clean. The buffet is a buffet. There will be things that you want to eat and there will be things that you don't want to eat, but the food was by and large well-prepared and reasonably varied. My kids (3&6) were huge fans, and removing the bother of trying to order something your kids will eat and just letting them choose their own meals was very enjoyable. The pool is definitely the highlight of the resort and it is awesome. Very lively vibe with music all day and activities led by the entertainment staff. We did not have difficulty getting loungers as the kids always petitioned to be at the pool early, but they did seem to fill up by mid-morning. Kiddie pool is great for the young ones. The swim-up bar is a delight and the bartenders were outstanding and super friendly. The drinks are not strong, but they are tasty. And if you're drinking at the pool all day (which I may or may not have done), it's probably best that they're not too stiff. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and accommodating, and it goes a long way if you can speak a little Spanish (which you should if you're travelling to a Spanish-speaking country). It also goes a very long way to be patient, respectful, and tip well. Overall, a great place for a cheap and cheerful vacation with the family.
We liked this hotel, but we didn’t love it. What we liked most was the family-friendly atmosphere, which is very important to us. The staff were super friendly, and our room was spacious and had everything we needed. The reservation restaurants were quite nice, and the food quality was good. The air conditioning worked perfectly, which is essential in the Los Cabos weather. The reason we’re not giving it 5 stars is because of a few small things that mattered to us. The cushions on the furniture in the lobby were stained, and we didn’t feel comfortable sitting on them. We would recommend having them steam cleaned. Guests only have three restaurant options that require reservations, so for most breakfasts, lunches, and dinners we had to use the buffet. In our opinion, many of the lunch and dinner options were very similar from day to day. Since we are foodies, variety and food quality are important to us. We also didn’t use the pools because we saw some people entering them wearing regular clothes and shoes, which felt a bit strange to us. We’re not sure whether this is a hotel policy issue or simply a guest behavior issue. There were a couple of nights when the guests in the room next door were making a lot of noise. However, once we contacted the front desk, they handled the situation very quickly, which we appreciated. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, but there is still some room for improvement.
