We're staying at Grand Velas in Cabo right now with a friend and loving it. The service has been amazing and the attention to detail is everywhere. Our room is huge and super clean. We loved that it's adults only, and it would be a great spot to come back to as a couple too. The food has been out of this world. Cocina de Autor was amazing, and the steak at Velas 10 was one of the best I've had. You could eat at a different restaurant every day and still not get to everything. Even the drinks are different at each restaurant and bar. Service at the pool is a 10 out of 10 too. We have a private concierge, Gabriela, who booked everything for us ahead of time, so we didn't have to figure anything out when we got here. She's been great. The golf cart between the two properties is a nice touch and makes getting around easy. Honestly the value is incredible for what you get. Already thinking about coming back.

Beautiful property, but repeated food safety issues and disappointing customer service My husband and I stayed 3 nights at Grand Velas Boutique to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, and while there were genuine highlights, we left deeply disappointed, not just by what happened during our stay, but by how the resort handled it afterward. The good: Our personal concierge was excellent. When we mentioned wanting coconut water, it appeared in our mini fridge without any fuss. The oyster and bubbles tasting was a real standout, with the chef going above and beyond to bring us chocolate clams and micheladas to try as well. The mezcal and chocolate tastings were also excellent (Miguel was a fantastic host). Dinner at Frida was wonderful thanks to attentive service, and Cocina de Autor lived up to its Michelin-star reputation. The bad: We had three separate food safety incidents in three nights. Our first dinner at Loto Robata Grill had painfully slow service. It seemed our order was forgotten, and our wine arrived so late we'd nearly finished our meal. Shortly after, we found hair in our food. At the Azul lunch buffet, we saw a fly crawling on the seafood at the grill station. On our last day, lunch at Roka included croquettas with a fish bone that actually poked my tongue. Room service was also underwhelming: soggy truffle fries, gummy eggs benedict, and watery coffee. What happened when we tried to follow up: We contacted Grand Velas guest relations directly, sharing detailed, photo-documented feedback. We spoke by phone with a guest relations manager on July 10th and were promised a follow-up email with compensation details. After 7 business days of silence, we followed up ourselves. On July 21st, she apologized for the delay, citing being on vacation, and offered a 3-day/2-night complimentary stay, stating she'd send the certificate "later that week." That was nearly a month ago. We never received the certificate or any further communication. When we escalated directly to their PR/Corporate Social Media contact, we were met with complete silence there too. No one from Grand Velas has followed through on a single commitment made to us since that phone call. At $1,600+/night, we expected an exceptional, consistent experience and responsive service if something went wrong. Instead, we got a mix of genuinely special moments and repeated food safety lapses, followed by weeks of broken promises and, ultimately, being ignored entirely, even after escalating through multiple channels. We've completely lost trust in this property. If you're considering spending several thousand dollars here, know that if something goes wrong, no one will actually follow through to make it right. You are better off spending your money elsewhere.
I can’t speak highly enough of the service that you receive at the Grand Velas Boutique. Everyone we met was so nice and went above and beyond to serve us. The rooms are spectacular and anything we needed, our Concierge Jair was happy to provide us. We spent most of our days at the pool where we were provided with ice cold water and any drinks and snacks that our hearts desired. The pool manager, Cesar, makes sure you are taken care of. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet every morning and we enjoyed our server Omar who always had a smile on his face. Our favorite restaurants for dinner were Cocina de Autor, Velas 10, and Loto. The food was always delicious and the quality was excellent. We cannot wait to come back and visit again!
My wife and I spent a week at Grand Velas Boutique Hotel Los Cabos, and I genuinely do not think we could have picked a better place for our first real trip away together in a long time. We have three kids, so a quiet, relaxing, adults-only getaway sounded pretty great on paper. In reality, this place exceeded every expectation. The resort is beautiful, peaceful, and never felt crowded. It was the kind of place where you quickly stop checking the time because there is nowhere else you would rather be. The level of service was incredible. It honestly felt like the staff-to-guest ratio had to be close to 1:1. Everyone was so attentive without ever being overbearing, and having a personal concierge made the whole stay feel effortless. Every detail was handled, every question was answered, and we always felt genuinely taken care of. The rooms were amazing, with incredible views and one of the best showers I have ever used in a hotel. That might sound like a small thing, but after a day at the pool or beach, it became one of those little luxuries you suddenly do not want to live without. The pool was perfect, the property was immaculate, and the food was outstanding. Frida was our favorite restaurant by far. Do not leave without getting the churros for dessert. Seriously. They are worth planning your dinner around. More than anything, Grand Velas Boutique gave us something we really needed: a chance to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy being together without a schedule, a carpool, or someone asking for a snack every 12 minutes. We did not want to leave, and I cannot recommend this hotel enough. I would give it 10 stars if I could.
Editing, we have arrived at the airport and after I specifically asked if my bags were going to make it in the car, they assured us it was and asked us to get in the car. Arrived at airport and bags were not in the car. Now not sure we’re gonna make it to check bags in time. This hotel is the absolute worse on customer service. They are so unorganized it’s mind blowing. They won’t even give the option to ship my bags home. I would strongly and I mean strongly wouldn’t recommend this place. They have totally ruined the end of the vacation and added so much frustration and unnecessary stress. What an embarrassment of an establishment. The resort is beautiful. Very clean and everything you need is available. The restaurants are very very good. The pool staff is outstanding and it’s a beautiful pool. My complaints are with how unorganized planning has been. We booked two rooms. Everything that we wanted charged to our room was charged to the other room. Also housekeeping is average at best. Outdoor area rarely cleaned. Room was not restocked with water or coffee. Also room service is excruciating slow. When they say 30 minutes expect over an hour. This is our second stay here and after these frustrating problems we will more than likely try a new place after this. First experience was great, second left things to be desired for sure. For the price I expect a little more.
