We stayed at GR Solaris Lighthouse from July 16–23, and unfortunately, our experience was underwhelming. The resort itself is clearly showing its age and is in need of maintenance. While the grounds are generally clean, several of the pools looked worn, with some areas appearing to have temporary or patchwork repairs. The biggest disappointment was the food. The buffet offered very limited variety, particularly at breakfast. Most mornings consisted of beans, fried vegetables, very dry pancakes and waffles, and few protein options, you even had to specifically ask for bacon. Dinner wasn’t much better. The quality and selection were consistently lacking, and it was noticeable how much food guests were leaving on their plates. The snack bar options were also very limited, mainly consisting of hot dogs, burgers, feathered chicken wings, and chips. We also dined at both the Italian and Mexican à la carte restaurants. The service from the waitstaff was excellent, but unfortunately the food was still disappointing. We ended up leaving the resort several times during our stay to enjoy local restaurants instead. The rooms were clean and basic, which was perfectly acceptable. However, the Wi-Fi barely worked in our room, and the television offered nothing to watch. The pool bar was another letdown. We found one of the bartenders to be rude and condescending, ( which is noted in other reviews ) this took away from what should have been a relaxing vacation atmosphere. Our biggest concern was finding large cockroaches in our room every morning. This was by far the most unpleasant part of our stay and significantly impacted our overall experience. On a positive note, the weather was fantastic. Despite the forecast calling for thunderstorms almost every day, we experienced plenty of sunshine and were able to enjoy our time outdoors. Overall, this resort did not meet our expectations. While there were some positives, such as the friendly restaurant staff and beautiful weather, the outdated facilities, poor food quality, unreliable Wi-Fi, rude service at the pool bar, and recurring cockroaches in our room made this a disappointing stay. We wouldn’t choose to return.

It was a wonderful ambiance I will never forget. From the seafood to the fantastic architecture, it really adds to the experience. The most memorable part of my stay was the entertainment staff, including Fernando, Jaime, Fabiola, Emiliano etc. All together made a huge impact to everyone's stay. i highly recommend this resort to any family or couple wanting to experience the beauty of Mexico. Please hurry and grab your ticket, you would not want to miss this!
It is a nice building, but they can improve the food quality. If you are booking a room, be aware that what they call Ocean View, is not necessarily Ocean view. They give us a second floor and we end having a view to the noisy pool area. Kind of misleading marketing, because when we arrived they said that we should have booked a Junior Suite with Ocean view. Service its just ok. All inclusive, but roomservice is not included, so you have to pay. Also they have what they call Solaris Club membership and many of the basic all inclusive services are not available for every guest. I dont recommend this hotel ,there are many different better options in Los Cabos. Do your research and good luck.
Overall experience was very disappointing. I do NOT recommend anyone stay here. All the positive reviews are bots. This is absolutely not a 5 star hotel as they advertise. Timeshare: They coerce you into attending a timeshare/vacation package presentation with the promise of discounts on excursions. We were promised a mere $50 off for attending. After the presentation, they refused to honor the $50 off. Why? We declined signing a 30 year commitment that required you to pay $5000 upfront. Meanwhile, we spoke to other guests who received excursions entirely free for attending the same presentation. Food: Not good. If you only got sick once a day from the food, you were lucky. They have room service, but its the exact same food from the free buffet AND they charge you for it. Room: Very outdated. Cleanliness was ok. Toilets have very weak flushing power. Shower temperature was inconsistent and also low pressure. The AC worked but was extremely loud ans often made a banging noise which would wake you up at night. Resort: Pools were ok. But all we're overrun by pigeons and seagulls. Only 1 of 3 elevators worked. It also looked like a scene from a horror movie no light and very dirty. Save your money, stay somewhere else.
So unbelievable this place has ANY good reviews! The service was horrible. Checked in on a Friday, because they accepted a PLANE full of passengers who’s flight was turned around. The hotel is so empty they have only ONE restaurant open for dinner, a mediocre Mexican buffet. However they no rooms, they are “full”? The first room they gave us in the old part of the hotel smelled, was dirty, had a broken chair, a broken phone, and the toilet overflowed instantly all over the floor. Despite us already knowing all of Cabo is underpopulated with tourists this week, the gentleman had nothing to offer us with regard to a new room. 20 minutes later a very nice woman magically had a very nice king room with no issues instantly in the “nice” part of the hotel. But the room was made with no blanket on the bed, just sheets!? The man checking us all in was rude, unhelpful and didn’t seem to care at all about the sewage all over our original room. We talked a lot to the other guests: one family didn’t have a working shower or towels/wash cloths. One family walked into bloody sheets! Buyer be ware. So disappointing. We’ve thought of coming to this hotel to try it out many times. Very thankful for the misfortune of the free trial due to our plane malfunction. We will NEVER stay at this hotel. Solaris, you had an entire plane full of potential new, repeat, customers that you agreed to accept, all who had been through a horrific experience… You blew it. Every family we spoke to on the flight was disappointed in the customer service and accommodations. Shame on Delta, too.
