Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort & Spa

We love staying at Casa Dorado. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. The pool bar staff if amazing!! We always look forward to seeing our friend Humberto at the bar. He’s always so happy and welcoming.

We had our wedding at Casa Dorada and genuinely could not have asked for a better experience. We stayed for a full week with 28 of our closest family and friends, and everything from the wedding to the rest of our stay was fantastic. Our wedding at 12 Tribes Terrace was immaculate. The venue was beautiful, the food and service were excellent, and our band, The Soul Collective, was fantastic. The whole wedding just felt easy and fun. Our wedding coordinator, Katherine, deserves special recognition. She was incredibly responsive and made the planning process easy from start to finish. She even went above and beyond on the wedding day by personally steaming the groomsmen's tuxes. We felt like we could simply enjoy our wedding because she had everything handled. The entire staff took amazing care of us. The manager at 12 Tribes introduced himself early in our stay and told us to let him know if we needed anything, and his team arranged tables and took great care of our group every time we ate there. Our server at the wedding was also fantastic and made sure we were taken care of all night. Casa Dorada made our stay feel special too. They upgraded us to a huge one-bedroom Ocean View Plus Suite, had champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries waiting when we arrived, and decorated our room with rose petals and prepared a bubble bath after the wedding. We also loved spending time at the pool with our friends and family. The staff served us food and drinks from our chairs, and both were excellent. We honestly wouldn't change a thing. We would absolutely recommend Casa Dorada to anyone considering a destination wedding in Cabo, and we will definitely be back.

We stayed three nights in a two room suite. The location of the resort is amazing! The views are beautiful, you can walk to the marina and do a lot of trinket shopping right from the beach. We purchased the all inclusive as we are vacay drinkers - we also eat off resort too to get some local cuisine but we enjoy the convenience. We felt like that made the servers not want to help us as tips are usually included. We had great service one day at the beach bar - smiling, chatting and made sure we had drinks We tipped him extra, as we always do but most of the staff didn't seem to care to help us. At breakfast one morning, they pointed to a table, never came out so we just went to the buffet and then they never brought us the bill. Not a single person stopped by our table so we just left without signing our check. You could see their expression change when they saw those bracelets. We've never experienced anything like that before. They use key cards instead of bracelets, which were a bit frustrating because key cards get set down. We saw several lying on pool side tables and my husband lost one to the sea 😅 you also have to keep a key card in a slot in the room to have power. My son grabbed it when he couldn't find a key card, not realizing it would black out the room. It was fine as he told me when he got down and we could fix the issue but if someone left all day, the room would be HOT. There was no mention of this at check in - there is a small gold warning on the little slot. They only allow one towel per person, which is fine except towel service isn't open as late as the pool. So if you are just relaxing and not watching the time, you won't get a dry one until the morning. The food and drinks were just fine. Nothing spectacular but we ate it lol. If you had an all inclusive bracelet, you couldn't take your food to go despite having to go containers. Sometimes you want some late night pizza or dessert in bed but it had to be eaten at the restraunt. There was also a bit of a language barrier here. Obviously, we are in Mexico but we have traveled to mexico multiple times, dining, shopping and using taxis, with lots of barriers before. Between our bad Spanish and their limited English, we always were able to get things across! But several times we were met with blank stares, until another staff person would help but even then lots of sighs and annoyance. We felt unwelcomed a couple of times. The bed in the main suite was pretty hard but our two teens were comfortable. The resort was very clean and again is in a perfect spot. I know some of this sounds so silly - we enjoyed our vacation quite a bit. Hospitality isn't important to everyone as it is to others. If you want the convenience of inclusive and great service, dont stay here. Lesson learned!
