Cons: We were "upgraded" from the Belair Sunclub to the Palmella building. The room was very outdated and turned out to be a studio with a kitchenette, but cupboards were bare. No dishes, glasses, silverware or cookware. We only had 3 bath towels, no wash cloths or hand towels. When we asked for them, we were given 1 wash cloth and 5 more towels. No hot water in bathroom. We originally booked a 1 bedroom suite at BelAir Sunclub so this felt like a down grade. It did not look like any pictures on their website. It was closer to the pools and restaurants so being with someone who is disabled, we stayed. We had all inclusive, which was a waste of money. Buffet was not very good. Restaurants were open on selected nights or you had to be a member to eat there so we ended up eating out a lot. The only places to get coffee was at the buffet, which you couldn't take with you and Take a Bite coffee shop on the 3rd floor. They do not provide any information when you check in. We got our information from other guests. Pros: Staff were very nice and no one bugged us to attend a timeshare presentation! The Grill, when opened to guests without a membership, was very good as was the hotdog/hamburger cart at the adult pool.

They said the check in time is 3pm but gave us our room by 4pm. And they gave us the room in block number 3 which faces the main road, so you can imagine the traffic noise. A room all the way at the back, a long walk from the elevator. Upon reaching the room, the floor was still dirty, you could feel the dirt when you’re bare feet. Hair left around in the bathroom floor. And NO PHONE in the room. The bell boy said he’d inform the reception, an hour later, nobody got back to us. So we Had to walk all the way to the main reception to request for it again, they said they’ll send somebody with it as soon as they can. So now we just had to stay put in our room till somebody showed up. Make note that you can’t access the restaurants here unless you buy the all inclusive wristbands, which is 1500 pesos per person. You can only access the breakfast buffet section. Wouldn’t recommend this place. Many people had the same issues with the distance and blocks being really far. Not worth the hassle.
We had reservations at the Krystal Grand, but when we checked in we were taken to BelAir which is across the street and doesn’t have a view of the ocean at all. It’s next to a busy highway. The staff was friendly and great. The food wasn’t awesome. Krystal Grand has 5 buildings so make sure you know where you are staying when you make the reservation so you aren’t disappointed.
Check in service was AWFUL. Upon arriving at the resort after a very long day and a half of travelling, no one greeted us to take our luggage. There were no complimentary drinks offered at check in. There was 1 staff member at the check in counter and a huge line up of people waiting. It was a VERY LONG WAIT - took over 2 hours to get checked in. Not the way to start a holiday.
First bad review I have ever wrote. Very bad first time experience here. **NOTE THIS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL KRYSTAL GRAND RESORT!!! YOU FACE THE ROAD AND HAVE NO OCEAN VIEW** It seemed like all the staff despised our group upon arrival. The lady who checked us in was very rude to our group of people. We were here as part of a bachelorette, and they wanted to split us into different areas/buildings...when we told them we booked as a group, they then said there were no more suites in which we payed for and we had to downgrade in order for all of us to be on the same floor (not even near each-other). They also charged us un "upfront cleaning fee" for each room when we already paid for our stay in full. We were also not allowed to use the restaurants on our first day?? The Italian restaurant would not let us sit as a group, they wanted to split us up. They said it was there policy and argued with us for 20 mins until they just ended up moving a table over angrily (we even offered a tip in order for us to move one table over for us to be together)...and the next day we saw them have a 12 top no problem...seemed like they just made up rules for us. They proceeded to get most of our meals wrong which seemed like it was on purpose (most of us were vegetarian and got served meat) MASSIVE COCKROACH IN OUR SHOWER the next day and we were asked to leave our room for a few hours so they could fumigate it. The check-out was an absolute joke. As I mentioned above this is not part of the official resort so we got dropped off via shuttle at a different lobby for this area we stayed in. On the day of checkout, we were told a time and we were ready when they called us to inform that our pickup was here. As we got into our lobby, there was no shuttle. The same lady from the day of check in was the one at reception so we asked her where is our shuttle...she smirked and said that its gone without us and we were supposed to be at the official resort lobby to be picked up....I have no idea how we would have known that given we were not allowed to use that lobby upon our arrival and were in fact taken to the OTHER lobby that we needed to be ready to leave at the resort lobby for pickup...They did not care nor seem too want to help us get to the airport. They said there was nothing we could do and we needed to take a taxi even though we payed for the shuttle. We got no to little service on our days poolside...sometimes waiting for food/drinks for over 2 hours. We felt so robbed as this was supposed to be about celebrating the bride and the whole time there was not one employee who give us more than 2 star service. Would not recommend.
