Receive an interesting introduction to the impact World War II had on the English capital, and see buildings partially destroyed by the devastating Blitz bombing. Marvel at iconic London attractions like Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament and 10 Downing Street, and then capture photographs beside a statue of deceased British prime minister, Winston Churchill.
Bid your erudite guide a fond farewell and descend into the Churchill War Rooms to explore the underground labyrinth independently. Next, navigate the underground maze of the war rooms and hear of top-secret conversations that changed the course of history. Jo (Joann) was knowledgeable and informative. We loved the history and her kindness. Meeting near Big Ben was very cool.
This was a wonderful tour of tour of the Westminster area with an engaging and enthusiastic guide! He took us to the iconic sites and then some, topped off with the Churchill War Museum tickets. Our Guide noticed the timing and took us to the Horse Guards Stables where we saw the changing. Very nice to have that added-on. He answered all questions and gave us a great intro to our London stay!
Our guide Angie was amazing! Angie’s knowledge combined with her enthusiasm and excellent delivery made it a great experience. The Churchill War Rooms are a must see for anyone visiting London.
Flora did an amazing job showing us around Westminster and explaining the amazing history of the area. The war rooms were the last part of the tour and I highly recommend.
Very disappointing experience. Our group was around 20 people, and with the traffic, buses, and emergency vehicles, it was nearly impossible to hear the guide unless you were standing right next to her. Your website says headphones are available if guests can’t hear, but none were provided. The tour also felt rushed, with the guide walking quickly between locations, and there were several moments where our group was walking in the street or crossing in unsafe areas. My partner was nearly hit by a cyclist who had to slam on the brakes. We eventually left the group for a few minutes because we were frustrated with the pace and inability to hear. Honestly, we would have preferred to simply purchase the Churchill War Rooms tickets ourselves. A microphone/headset system would make a huge difference. Overall, not worth the additional tour cost. Tour guide was nice and passionate about history, would love to see her equipped with appropriate equipment to hear her.
My husband and myself did this tour back in April 2026 with my two children ages 13 and 8. We loved it! Our tour guide Paul was amazing. We ended up having a private tour since no one else booked at that time.
Tour guide was awesome. So knowledgeable. Only bad thing was it was raining. Not their fault
Great tour. Maggie was wonderful and really made the entire trip fun. The War rooms were very interesting. Like walking back in time
Lived the self guided tour of the war rooms. Learned an incredible amount of history I was not aware of . This is a must see when we n London
We enjoyed both the walking tour and the War Rooms. Our guide was extremely knowledgable and communicated well. The War Rooms were fascinating!! We spent 3 hours there. The audio guide helped us catch a "feel" for the War Rooms and what it must have been like during those days. The museum displayed artifacts and information extremely well. In our eyes, this is a "Must See" if you are visiting London!
Nathan was such a great tour guide...full on information, not only about Winston Churchill, but about so many other super-interesting historical topics. Highly recommend!
The guided tour part was okay, but we really didnt see much. Winston Churchill’s War Room was worth it!
Caroline was very informative. I really enjoyed the tour and learned so much about Churchill and history of events. A must do!
Caroline was lovely!! Very knowledgeable about the war and the statues around town. Also the different buildings what they were for. Seeing the Churchill war rooms was interesting as well.
Jo was our tour guide for the walking tour. She was knowledgeable, engaging, and very personable. She provided the context necessary for a great visit at the war rooms. Churchill the man, the husband, the politician was brought to life with Jo’s explanations. The war rooms and Churchill museum are outstanding. Allow 1/2 a day if you do the walking tour and war rooms. The war roooms does have a cafe, with very good food, for a break midway through the war room experience.
Loved Louise!! She was so fun and engaging during our tour. She made this tour memorable. She was so full of knowledge and energy.
Michael was a fun and knowledgeable guide. Kept us all engaged and entertained as he educated us on Westminster and the Churchill War Rooms. We highly recommend Michael and the tour.
Great tour - Louise was an amazing tour guide. She was very knowledgeable, but also had great stories and made the tour fun. She was also very personable and considerate of the guests.
Louise was a lovely tour guide. Very knowledgeable and easy to follow.
Our guide Michael was very knowledgeable and did a great job of explaining to the group. I could tell he has some passion. The tour and war rooms were very good.
Jay was excellent. His wealth of information delivered in a fun and engaging way made the tour for us. We were lucky enough to have a private tour. The hot weather cause others to cancel. Lucky us! It was great.
Our guide, David, was great. His knowledge of the subject is deep and wide. Very pleasant fellow. It is an easy walking tour and most informative.
David is an excellent guide. The pace of the tour was on point. His wealth of knowledge was evident. Highly recommend!
Maggie was a great guide and Churchill’s War Rooms are very well done.
Amazing tour and very nice people. A lot of amazing information I would do this tour again. One of the best I’ve seen
Great experience, very knowledgeable guide sharing lots of interesting information about ww2 and other parts of history as we walked around
If you want to visit the Churchill war rooms… this is not the tour for you. We spent 2 1/2 hours standing on the sidewalk, listening to the tour guide. He wasn’t very interesting. Then, we got to visit the War Rooms. I highly recommend you simply buy a ticket to the Churchill War Rooms and go there on your own. This tour adds no value whatsoever.
The VIP private tour guide before the War Room exhibit was our favorite part. She taught us so much history and showed is so many things in the area we never noticed. The War Room itself was okay, they could use air conditioning or fans down there. We also recommend more places to sit. Worth the experience due to the VIP private tour guide.
The information we learned was great. The war rooms are definitely worth a visit. We were late and the automatic chatbot communications were not helpful so lots of the tour was missed. We were lucky to be able to find the guide en route on our own. I suggest providing the guide with WhatsApp or email contact information of participants.
Michael was a great guide, funny and informative! The tour itself was very interesting and well worth the time and price. Highly recommend this tour!
Very informative-our guide Maggie knew so much about Churchill and the war. It was a great intro before going to the War Rooms-definitely think doing both made it much better!
Maggie did a great job explaining the history of London. She was patient with all of our questions. I’m very knowledgeable.
I did not realize it was a walking tour. We saw a lot of the stuff when we did the Westminster tour. Guide was knowledgeable and we learned a lot.
Andy welcomed all questions and shared his knowledge of the Churchill war rooms and the Westminster area. He took the intense heat into consideration, stopping at shady spots as able. Would recommend!
Ian was a fabulous guide, upbeat, and full of tidbits of knowledge. He will take good care of you! I’d highly recommend doing if you’re curious to learn about Churchill and the history of Britain.
Excellent tour. Rob did an amazing job of telling us the history of WW2 and Churchill in London.Very informative and entertaining!
Louise was an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable with a great sense of humor.
It was nice to have a guide take you around the area and point out some things about Churchill to give you additional context before going into the museum.
The World War II archives were amazing although we feel we could have used more time there rather than walking around the city listening to our guide. He was very nice but a little chatty.
My 23 year old son and I did the walking tour with Andy. He is a great tour guide. He is very knowledgeable and he has the perfect personality for a tour guide. He shared some interesting facts like the story behind the saying “pay Peter to pay Paul.” Now I know where that saying comes from. We loved it! The war room was good. I have been there before but the first time for my son. It was crowded today. More than I remembered. But overall I highly recommend this tour.
Ian was our tour guide and he was very informative. It was a small group so it worked well. Churchill War Rooms was super interesting
The War Rooms are absolutely fabulous and a must see for anyone who cares about history. Very informative!
Maggie was an incredible guide! She is very well informed, cheerful and charismatic and I was so happy to have her as a guide for the walking tour!
My husband and I can't stop raving about this tour. Paul (our guide) was fabulous and we learned so much about how London was impacted in WWII and all about Winston Churchill. This is a must-do tour when in London, especially if you like WWII history.
Lots of history, and the guide was very knowledgeable, also lots of walking so wear a good pair of shoes.
Walking tour exceeded expectations. Really enjoyed the context given for the various memorials. Communications were good and guide was interesting and humorous.
Paul was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. The distance and pace of the tour were very accessible. I would recommend for enthusiasts and people dipping their toe in for the first time alike!
We booked several tours with Viator and all were great, very well organized with excellent and informative guides.
David, our tour guide, was a great historian! He was engaging, very knowledgeable, kept the group together, and included his own personal stories.
