Women Of Westminster Walking Tour

A really excellent tour about the important women in our history, and how the establishment treated them. Becky was passionate and informative - we learnt loads and realised how much detail we'd missed even though we have walked these streets often. Don't be put off by the length of the tour, there's a sit down and loo break half way round.

This is an absolutely amazing tour. I cannot recommend highly enough. The guide was really knowledgable, friendly and responsive to the needs of the group.

We did this tour with Becky on 23rd December and we had the best time! We had a family trip to London for Christmas with the main event being Oliver! at the Gielgud Theatre (which was great) and then wanted something else for a few hours the following day. Turns out that this tour was the main event! Our two daughters aged 14 and 11 loved it as did myself and my partner. Becky was so knowledgeable and natural and the time flew. Highly recommend.

Excellent tour highlighting both more famous and lesser known women in British history. Very knowledgeable and personable guide. Thoroughly enjoyed this tour and highly recommend.

I have now joined Becky for 5 of her 6 walks and this one was as brilliant as all the rest of the walks. Each one is different but what they have in common is an approach centred on telling stories, for this walk famous women and enabling us to learn about them. Becky is a great guide, knowledgeable and passionate and always inviting questions. It’s a good walking pace too. Highly recommend any of these walks.

We booked this tour because of our interest in history and the often overlooked roles that women have played. The tour was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The commentary was wide ranging and informative with relevant insights at every stop. The pace of the tour was just right as it covered a lot of spots of interest without it feeling rushed.

Roslin was fabulous! She patiently answered all our questions while bringing history to life. My nine-year-old daughter was truly inspired later asking me if we could study more the suffragettes Roslin told us about. I would recommend the tour and, especially, Roslin!

I learned so much! I’ve been wanting to take this tour for a year and when the opportunity presented itself, I seized the chance. I love women’s history, and this tour proved to me that there’s always more to discover. Our tour guide, Roslyn, was personable and knowledgeable. She expertly answered our questions and navigated our group of three through london, despite road closures and super cold temperatures. I’d absolutely go on another tour from Women of London and I plan to when my parents come to visit. I hope more tours like this one become available across the world.

We had a wonderful Women of East London tour with Becky. We visited sites we wouldn’t have got to on our own and learned so much that was new to us. She was super accommodating, reminding people to let her know if they needed a coffee (jet lag is hard) or bathroom break along the way. We didn’t end up stopping, and the time flew by.

Becky nailed the walking-tour sweet spot by providing our group with a coherent historical overview of the suffrage movement without dumbing that history down—she added plenty of complexity and texture to this history, especially when responding to questions. She is an incredibly skilled storyteller and experience designer. I would also add that she is very accommodating and flexible. On quite short notice, Becky adapted her Women of Westminster Walking Tour to provide a tour for students in our study abroad program focused on the suffrage movement in late-nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century London. Because of our large numbers (about 60 in total), Becky split our group in three and gave back-to-back-to-back tours. Everyone returned from their walking tour with great things to say about their experience and about Becky!

This is the third tour I’ve done with Women of London and (clearly) I’m a fan. Becky and Charlotte are incredibly well spoken, knowledgeable guides and the stories they tell about the women who lived, worked and changed this city are inspiring and interesting every time. So well researched, these tours are a fun way to learn something new about the city you’re visiting (or live in) while enjoying London the best way possible: by walking through it. There is no way I won’t do the other tour I’m missing in the portfolio, should I get the chance.

This Walking Tour was so interesting - bringing together history, art, politics, life of female heroines - that I just booked a second one: Women of Bloomsbury. Again - astonishing and fascinating insights!

We have done a couple of these tours and they are amazing! I can't rate them highly enough. Becky was so knowledgable and interesting and we learnt so much. We were mixed genders and all of us found it fascinating and honestly so revealing, insightful and motivating! Loved it and will be bringing more people to these tours asap!

This was a fantastic tour which was both informative and fun. I already knew quite a lot about the history of notable women in the UK but I still learnt tons over the course of this tour about women in a variety of spheres from art to politics to literature to healthcare to royalty. Our guide was very friendly as well as being really knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. We´re definitely planning on doing other tours with this company in the future!
