This was such an amazing tour! Sam was our tour guide and he couldn't have been more wonderful. He was very kind and he knew everything there was to know about English food and its history. The portion sizes for this food were also great and you really do get the chance to taste everything with more than generous serving sizes so please do bring your appetite. Sam was very easy to find at his meeting spot and he took us through Borough Market, which was amazing, along with ending the tour at a restaurant where we had tea and scones and we were able to sit down and relax and talk. I highly recommend this tour if you like trying different types of food and having a variety of items. This tour really does make you look at the food in London in a different way because it's incredibly diverse. While there is some walking it's not unbearable at all and it's nice to end the tour inside a restaurant where you can sit down and relax for a bit. Great tour and absolutely worth the price because you are going to eat a lot of different food but not feel overwhelmed and not like you can't finish the samples. Also, please note that although this tour starts in Borough Market which can be very busy, you won't have to wait in any long lines that you may see online on social media for example. Sam booked all of our stuff ahead of time and our food was ready at each stop so that was also great.

Sharon knew the vendors, always put us in a comfortable place to wait u til she brought food. Lots of history and info. Finished with the full British tea!
Walking tour of the Borough Market, delicious food, great history from Sam, and wonderful for the vibes of London. Highly recommend.
Had a great time and learned about London's culinary history. Sam was a terrific guide. There were 10 stops; more than expected.
Excellent tour! The group was small and it was easy to stay together in the busy market. The portions were more than expected. We stopped at a variety of vendors. Our tour guide Kay was very knowledgeable! Would recommend this tour to others.
Amazing tour! Our guide Kai was very personable, knowledgeable -- and even got us to eat jellied eel! Well worth the time and money.
This was a great tour! Kay was our guide and he was fantastic - knowledgeable, courteous, and fun! The food was fantastic and such a wide variety of things to try. Would definitely recommend!
If someone said they could only do one tour, THIS IS IT. Sam was so knowledgeable. Tied all the food in with the history. So much food, full portions. The tour was great, worth the money. Just do it you will be happy you did.
We had a wonderful eating and learning experience with Sam. He was excellent and skillfully navigated us through busy Borough Market and shared really interesting history of London. Highly recommend!
This food tour was amazing! The variety of foods and drinks to try were great. Sam was a fantastic guide and provided some great history, facts, food knowledge, and was super friendly. Loved the bacon bap, the moo and blue pie, the cheese tasting, and the drink at The George. Highly recommended!
Sam was great and full of information! It was a culinary appealing and satisfying experience, trying the foods of England. Definitely would recommend and do again! Plus, a bonus, the foods were very tadty, fresh and ultra delicious!
Great tour. Sam was excellent. Food was really good and Sam gave the origins and history of the foods. Very interesting. Borough market so interesting. Food samples generous in size. Would definitely take the tour again.
Sam was the perfect host- knowledgeable and engaging. The bacon “bap” was to die for as were the chocolate covered strawberries! We also loved the cheeses- try the jellied eel at your own risk😛. Would highly recommend this excellent tour of traditional British food and tour of Burrough Market! Same gets 6/5 stars! Thanks so much for a great time!
K was fantastic! So much food ….and drinks! We loved it. K shared so much interesting information, was so kind.
A wonderful tour of the foods of London and history from the best guide ever! Sam was the ultimate host for an afternoon of tasty food, drinks and entertaining history of the area. Highly recommend this tour.
Sam was an excellent guide! We loved the food and drink, but especially loved all the history. We had a great variety and lots to eat!
We had Sam as our guide, and this was amazing! He was easy to find and a little early at our meeting place. The food was well thought out, giving us a broad selection of British food. In addition, Sam gave us such a neat history lesson and showed us a great part of town. We will definitely recommend this to anyone we know going to London!
Sam taught us a lot of history and food facts we didn't know and fed us a bunch of really good stuff. A wild and yummy midday in and around a really busy market. It was great how his voice stood out in the crowd, and how he had napkins at the ready, and how he answered our questions, and how he stepped back when we wanted to talk among ourselves... 🙂
Our guide was K and he is the perfect guide. On time and very personable. His knowledge of history and food made the time with him an incredible and enjoyable! I highly recommend the tour and K.
We did this food tour with family and friends. Our guide Sam was awesome. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He also provided alternatives at each food place for a nut allergy and gluten free. We loved the markets he took us to. Food portions were good size so come hungry. We would highly recommend this tour.
Sam was an excellent guide. He was a wealth of information and the food was very good. Do not eat before taking this tour.
Cannot recommend this tour enough!! Do not eat prior to this tour as you will end up with more than enough food! Our guide Sam was very entertaining and knowledgeable about the foods and of the areas we were touring. Ate some classic English staples and sampled some more adventurous stuff too. Tour was at a great pace and our whole group really enjoyed it.
Sam was an amazing tour guide. We had one person allergic to nuts and one person who is gluten intolerant and he was able to accommodate everyone at each location, and did so seamlessly, without anyone feeling like a burden or feeling left out. Sam also made sure everyone was comfortable at every stage, including proactively offering restroom breaks and napkins, etc. Sam also knew a lot of history and fun facts. My husband and I always do food tours when we travel, and Sam blew us away as the best host we have ever had. Great tour, great food, highly recommend.
Sam guided us on this tour that started with half an egg and bacon sandwich and moved on from there with pie, oyster and champagne, jellied eel and more. I think there were 9 tastes and drinks along the way--definitely come hungry! Sam was charming and gave great tidbits about history too. Even though I don't think of British food as the most tasty, I was pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend
This was a great way to integrate local/English history into the street foods in the Borough markets area, capped off by afternoon tea. Bonus siting of Bridget Jones residence. Sam was a great guide with an extremely engaging style. Don’t bother to book dinner after your tour, you won’t have space for it.
This tour by Kai was my favorite by far on our trip to England. We only had 5 plus the guide in our group so it was the best! There were at least 10 places to eat and drink. We enjoyed everything from the food (baps, fish and chips, oysters with champagne, cheeses, tea with scones, etc.) to the atmosphere of Borough Market. It was so much fun to try things that we had never had before as well as revisit old favorites. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
This was a real exploratory tour. Each location/sample came with its historical background as to how it became a part of English dining. Each sample was more than adequate (especially the jellied eel).
We did the Royal Food tour in 2019 (sorry I'm so late and they made me say Oct. 2020 down below) and it was great. Our guide (I think his name was Kevin-all I remember is he said he was a flying monkey in Wicked) was wonderful. Not only did we have some great tastings but he was full of information. Such a nice guy and a nice way to spend the day. Highly recommend.
Very enjoyable tour in a historic part of London. All food experiences were excellent so was our guide Kay. Need to arrive with an empty stomach.
Kiy was really great, he took us to try special traditional food alongside the informative and interesting history explanations. We highly recommend this tour!
This was such a fun, interesting and tasty tour, and our tour guide was so friendly, kind, knowledgable and fun. He took care of everything and made sure it all ran very smoothly. We tried lots of different food, all big portions and had a lot of fun. I would recommend this tour to anyone!
This tour did not disappoint. So happy to have had something organized to do on Christmas Eve Day. Kay greeted us with enthusiasm and maintained our interested from start to finish. Not only did he provide topnotch service and a wonderful explanation for why we were eating each food, he did an excellent job sharing the food’s history and the history of London with us throughout the day. And.... speaking of the food, it was indeed some of London’s best. The Borough Market alone was worth the trip!! Definite recommend.
One of our favorite things to do when visiting a new city is take a food tour and this one did not disappoint. Kay was a great host and full of lots of information.
It was my first ever food tasting tour and it didn’t disappoint. Our tour guide Kay was super knowledgeable and helpful. The way he presented the link between history and food was really captivating. It is recommended that you skip both breakfast and lunch because food is more than enough. Overall, a great way to experience London at its best!
We unfortunately don’t remember the name our our tour guide! But he was wonderful! So sweet and knowledgeable! The food on this tour was amazing, portions were so big! We couldn’t eat it all!! My favorite parts were the fish and chips, the cheese tasting (love the smoked Mayfair!) and the cream tea at Bill’s!
Our guide Kevin Bond made this rainy day into a perfect London experience. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. There was more food than we could finish! Borough Market is highlight and we will return there another day to explore. We loved getting a handout of recommendations at the end of the tour. Great way to start a trip in London with an overview of history, sightseeing and food. I highly recommend this tour.
Kevin was a terrific tour guide. This would be an excellent tour for the beginning of your visit to London. Kevin is very knowledgeable about the sites, and you can pick up some wonderful local treats from the Borough Market for the week.
Good history, site seeing, and food & drink samples. Would recommend. No need for breakfast or lunch if you do the 10-2 tour.
Super fun walking tour with a very knowledgeable guide. He was high energy, took us to great places and took great care of us.
I am sorry to say, but we had very low expectations about a food tour in London. However, I cannot say how wrong we were as Kevin did a great job connecting history with food. It did not hurt that he took us to try the best of the best. He is a GREAT guide and we would certainly do another tour with him the next time we are in London.
This was an excellent food tour, our guide Kevin Bond was descriptive and made this tour what it was. The food tasting were excellent. Would recommend to anyone coming to London
Our guide Kevin was wonderful and we both loved this experience. The food and history were fascinating. We would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to explore Borough Market and learn about traditional English food!
We met our guide at the meeting spot. Who happened to be Kevin Bond (James's younger brother)he guided us thru the tour. Very knowledgeable and entertaining with quality food thrown in. The food is included in the price of the tour all you have to do is enjoy the sights and history.
Kevin was a great tour guide. The small group made it nice, although funnily enough, we were all from California. Enjoyed all the places we sampled. It was truly the best fish and chips we had on our trip. We went back to the market a couple more times to try more food. A great way to learn about the area, and find some great food.
Our guide Kevin took us on this walking food tour around London. 4 other participants were late, so we started as the only two guests with Kevin. Later we came to know, that Kevins boss took the rest of the group, that happened to be one out late, on an other tour which thought was very kind of them! So in fact, we had our own tour with a private guide. Kevin was so nice und funny and told us a lot of interesting facts about the origins of London and the English food. We started the tour at Borough Market, a place that we would never visited on our own. We had fresh meat pie, award winning cheese, pie, ale and cider in Londons oldest pub, fish and chips, met, cocoa beans... We finished the tour in a lovely Cafe an had an authentic British tea time with scones, clotted cream and lemon curd! It was delicious. At the end, Kevin gave us a list with Londons best restaurants and pubs und told us, where we could go next, from the end of the tour. All in all, we really had a blast and can only advise you to book this tour! Best Wishes to Kevin! Lisa & Matthias from Germany
This was the highlight of our weekend in London! We learnt such a lot, not only about the history of the food, but also London's amazing past. The meeting point is very easy to find at the top of the wide steps on London Bridge on the South Bank - as was our fantastic and very lovely, friendly guide, Kevin Bond. We should have been in a group of 8, but the other 6 were delayed, so off we went on our own private tour to Borough Market and beyond, and what a market! We sampled the best pies we've ever tasted, the best fish and chips, and even sampled some very delicious oysters! Our first ever, and I can highly recommend them! We walked, we ate, we drank, and finally our very welcome cream tea. The tour also took in lots of local famous sights, historical buildings side by side with the new. Ancient and modern! And all very fascinating and we learnt so much about them from Kevin. And once our tour was over and we'd topped up our energy supplies with our delicious cream tea, we retraced our steps along the South Bank, visiting some of the fascinating places we'd just learnt so much about. A really great way to spend Saturday afternoon, made all the better by being in the company of our very friendly and knowledgeable guide, Kevin Bond. Thanks Kevin, and all the best to you!
We had a great food tour. From the history of the area to the history of the food it was all super. My favorite was the Beef and Stilton Pie but a tough call with fish and chips and scones not to mention oysters in the running! Our guides moonlights from his night job as an actor so was super entertaining!
This was one of my favorite side trips and an unexpected one! Food was great, guide was wonderful! Great way to expose you to new foods and some interesting food history
Our guide was fantastic! The food was great and we learned some about fascinating food history of London too! I would highly recommend this tour!
Thanks to Mr Kevin Bond who guided us through this food tasting tour. We had a very good time and was given so much interesting information on the way. This tour is by no means cheap, but we found it worth it and can recommend it. Be aware that this tour requires some walking which may not suit everybody.
