Itinerary
Within the ancient Fortress, the Tower of London, visitors can gaze up at the imposing White Tower, tiptoe through a king’s medieval bedchamber and marvel at the priceless Crown Jewels. Hear bloody tales of the Tower told by the Yeoman Warders; stand where famous heads rolled and discover where prisoners and exotic animals including a polar bear were kept. Tower of London Beefeater tours are included in admission and are open to all visitors that day. They commence every 30 minutes from the Tower of London moat. The meeting point and next tour is signposted upon entry, but a member of the Tower of London admissions team will be on hand to assist you should you struggle to locate the meeting point.

We really enjoyed our visit to The Tower of London. The displays and buildings were dripping in history and the information boards perfect for the uneducated philistine which I am. The Crown Jewels and other items in the same display are jaw dropping and exquisite beyond comprehension. Children were in groups being marshalled by their teachers which gave a lovely atmosphere. Quite a few different blokes named Henry & Eddy lived here as did exotic animals brought from far away lands so their masters could show off before they, probably, died of cold.
Very nice place with alot of history. We had a great time walking around and seeing the crown jewels, they are amazing. The place is bigger than I expected and there is so much things to see. Staff was friendly and everything was well organised. Really enjoyed the visit and worth the money.
Despite the weather we had an amazing time today at The Tower. Due to the rain we had our talk from YW Emma in the chapel of St Peter Avuncular, it’s a beautiful chapel and Emma shared so much detail. Going in to see the Crown Jewels was very special, so much history and beautiful things to see. The White Tower is also a uniquely special place. We are going to try and get back on a sunny day not a soggy one! Thank you Emma
We paid a lot for this tour and never found our tour guide so we went with the general group at the tower.
No one was at the entrance from tour company when we arrived. We didn’t need a ticket to get in and you charged me $170.
Very poor for accessibility. Wouldn’t recommend for anyone in a wheelchair or who has mobility problems. We were extremely limited in what we could see because of this.
Really fun experience! The Crown Jewels were awesome even if the queue was a bit long. Anyone could do this tour!
Short tour with beefeater, self-guided tour for inside buildings, lots of history. Nice to see places I've read about!
This was a good tour to do because why go to London and not see the Crown Jewels. There are some other cool and interesting things to see, but the jewels are definitely the main attraction.
Darren Hardy Yeoman of the guard was the best part of the experience! The tower is definitely worth seeing but don’t miss out on the chance to enjoy Darren‘s wit and charm!
Had a tour by the amazing Darren hardy , unbelievable wit , thanks. A mill
Worth a visit but overpriced. Crown jewels room was overly busy so couldn't see much - they need to slow entry to this area. The gift shops were more interesting than most of the displays. Lots of better places to visit in London for less money!
Having pre-purchased tickets helped us get thru the line quickly. We didn’t have to stand in line at the ticket office. Besides that, we ended up seeing all the same stuff as non-Viator people, including the Beefeater tour.
We had no idea how much time one could spend there, but there is a lot to see so give yourself time. Wear comfortable shoes. Beefeater tour was excellent. Loved the Ravens.
It was ok. We could have done without this on our trip. First, it’s just so crowded and hard to really see and read any of the descriptions throughout the tour. We also had trouble following the audio guided tour. The crow. N jewels was interesting to see but again, pretty crowded.
We arrived at the Towers unaware that the Beefeater tours end 2 hrs before closing. We were aware that the towers themselves close earlier in winter, but the Beefeater tour was the main reason we purchased this package. Very disappointing. We've been having issues in general with tours book through Viator in France and England. Poor communication and almost no clarity on where to meet for most tours.
We enjoyed a tour with a “Beef eater” . Darren Hardy who was both entertaining and informative. We spent two and a half hours at the tower village.
Excellent value for money - Living History, spoiled only by the weather so missed a couple of outdoor opportunities
The day that we attended it rained heavily. The cobbles were a little slippery and there are lots of steps to navigate which made it quite treacherous and rainy weather. Also the yeomen do not do their tours if it is raining.
Yeoman NEV was AMAZING! We had the best time. We’re members so we visit regularly and my daughter Millie is fascinated with alll the stories THANK YOU ♥️♥️♥️
The Tower of London tour was beyond anything we could have imagined! Our Yeoman Warder, Andy, was incredibly knowledgeable and brought humor to the entire tour. He made the stories so interesting and truly held our attention. It was an fantastic afternoon!
Honestly the most amazing experience! Been many times but it still blows me away! Beefy the Yeoman gave myself and my daughter a private tour and we got to go to some of the areas I’ve not accessed before, what a fantastic day and an experience I will never forget! We will be back again I am sure!
It is a wonderful step back into time and history. The artifacts were very interesting along with the storied history of the tower.
Disappointed we did not get the Yeoman tour which was included in the price . The weather was blamed and it wasn’t good weather however I’m sure an alternative talk could be arranged in a more sheltered part of the grounds . Waited 40 years for a visit so felt a bit cheated .
Great place with sooo much history. Crown Jewels were impressive.
Amazing tour with a yeoman warder Must do on a visit to London
The tower of London and crown jewels was interesting. I will say it was hard to walk through all those jewels and gold and then see constant requests for donations to help keep it going. it was very well laid out but I think the cost was a little much.
The Beefeater tour is the way to go, super knowledgeable and hilarious. Really made it enjoyable even when dealing with bad weather
A brilliant day. My daughter and I really enjoyed ourselves. Would go again in a heartbeat maybe next January..
We are rather rare people that visited London for only a day and a half. We schedule one thing at time when this occurs to further free up our time. This was amazing. Self guided and we spent 3.5 hours doing so! Didn't even realize it. Too much going on to mention but tons of history and the jewels at the end (we chose at the end [self guided] ) do NOT disappoint! I'm sure the Abbey and other visits are great, but I'm saying if you have one tour to choose, choose this one.
We had a day in London and decided to visit the very busy Tower of London. It took us 2 and a half hours to tour this magnificent castle. There were different tour options available, and we chose the audio tour. The sense of history and English culture felt very real from the beginning. We got to see where the valuable Crown Jewels are displayed and stored. There was so much to take in. Talking afterward, we preferred the historical sections like the Tower, Cromwell's residence, and areas of execution the most. Definitely worth a visit, allow 3 to 4 hours to see everything. We went to the Borough Market afterward to eat. It was so packed. We are foodies and were spoiled for choice. It’s totally worth it even though it's very busy.
We arrived here just in time for a tour of the grounds by Beefeater Baz who was very knowledgeable, funny and interactive with the crowd of around 100 people on his tour. From the Traitors Gate to the Crown Jewels to the Ravens he gave us detail on all aspects of the ToL and we then went off and visited a few bits on our own. Great day out well worth a visit!
Really interesting. Recommend joining the Yomen to walk around. They are very knowledgeable and make it a bit of fun.
Beautiful experience of the England countryside. Charming villages and unique buildings and shops. A must do if you can fit it into your itinerary. Our driver and guide, Saghar, was excellent. A real gentleman, and extremely knowledgeable. I would highly recommend history with him.
Not enough time to get through everything since we went late and had to leave. I would recommend getting a guide to explain things to you. We did not get a guide and regret it
Get there early! Head straight to the Crown Jewels!! The signage is great! So much to see and learn! This was a wonderful experience!
Went to the Tower of London specifically to see the Crown Jewels. I had no idea there were no jewels on display so needless to say we were very disappointed.
There is a free tour for almost 1 hour, from the beefeaters- great tour! We went during the week, and it was a manageable crowd. Tickets are well worth the price, as you can spend all day- lots to see!
Absolutely recommend Tower of London to anyone visiting the city. We spent 3hrs here and that felt about right to see everything we wanted. Yeoman Tam’s stories of murder and execution was a real highlight so doing the guided tour is a must! Well worth it and do it earlier so you can visit some of the places he mentioned on the tour. My daughter’s favourite stories were of Anne Boleyn!!
I love the tower. It’s a super historical experience, a bit creepy, and the Yoeman Warders are the best guides in the city!
We had an amazing time seeing the crown jewels and the crows were a real highlight but be careful one of them tried to bite someone
My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed the pub tour with our delightful guide Will! This tour isn’t just about the 4 wonderful pubs we visited, it was a history lesson along the way. We had 30 min to an hour at each pub. Take my word, you will not be at all disappointed! If we had more time, we’d do it again! Cheers!
Incredible history and site viewing. The displays were very informative, and some were even interactive.
Booked online as friends from the US over. We had been before and again for the Armistice poppy projection. But great to go again. Yeoman Dan gave a cracker of a tour. Value for money for sure.
This is the ultimate place to visit in London. Do not miss the Crown Jewels! Explore on your own or listen to an audio tour.
This is a self guided tour and we really enjoyed the whole thing. Only disappointment was we could not take any pictures of the Crown Jewels. Over all a great experience.
Absolutely worth the money, I spent all day here! My favorite part had to be the Yeoman Warder tour! We had Garry (aka 420) as our guide and you could not ask for more fun or knowledge. Very helpful with questions. You can tell he respects the role and the history, which goes a long way.
We had an absolute blast at the the TOL. Our Yeoman Graham was a fabtatsic tour guide and although I've been to the TOL 2x before, gained very new and fresh perspectives on the history and current status of the village. Amazing and an absolute must do if you visit London. Do not skip the Yeoman's/ Beefeater tour!
Yeoman Kelly Scott gave a wonderful 1pm tour on the 16th of October!
