The Ultimate Jack The Ripper Tour (Private Group Booking)

Booked for the 2hr Jack the Ripper tour and what a tour we had! Our tour guide Ben was amazing. No only was he insanely educated on the case file of Jack the Ripper but the passion he has for it as well is incredible (plus he’s nice to look at!) which makes the whole tour enjoyable and engaging. Thank you so much for such a great night!

Big Ben was amazing. Dedicated and informative he has a real passion for the subject of the Jack the Ripper murders. He's not trying to flog a book like some other tour guides nor any tacky souvenirs. Just a historian who explains the facts with appropriate humour at times to keep you enthralled during a 2 hour tour.

Big Ben felt like a storyteller is very unique and how he talked quite enjoyed the experience and also went different places was put to well especially where they did the killings definitely recommend Big Ben

It was a Nice experiece to go through all the sports and hear stories about them.

Ben did an amazing job with the Jack the Ripper tour. His background as a historian took this trip to a new level and I don’t mean only the Jack the Ripper story. I’ve learnt so much and was enjoying myself at the same time.

I cannot say enough good things about this experience. Such a great tour. Ben gives an incredibly well rounded view of the case of Jack the Ripper, from the atmosphere and culture of victorian Britain, to the inclusion of the lives of the victims and their last moments, as well as introducing and disproving the many theories of who Jack the Ripper was - this tour is an evidence based and historically rich view of Whitechapel during this period. As a London "native" I learned so much, and have really enjoyed passing this knowledge on. Also lots of great recommendations at the end for books and films, etc. Would 100% recommend.

Very good but a little too long

Bobby was amazing! Such a great and in-depth tour focused on the victims. Walking to each destination around the victims Bobby had so much information, a great talker and tour guide and was extremely memorable. If you want a great tour in the evening, want to walk away with a different perspective and an enjoyable experience please book on. You won't forget it.

I have gone on quite a few free tours in different places, which have all been nice but this tour with Big Ben was probably the most entertaining tour I have participated in. The tour guide was extremely competent and very helpful. I would not recommend it for the younger audiences considering the topic of the tour, but that is only my personal impression. The tour lasted 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Our Jack the Ripper tour with Big Ben was hands-down one of the best walking tours I’ve ever taken! Big Ben was an exceptional guide—incredibly knowledgeable, captivating, and a master storyteller. He brought 1888 Whitechapel to life with vivid details, historical context, and incredible depth without ever feeling dry or overly sensationalized. The pace was great, the atmosphere was haunting, and I learned so much about the victims and the investigation that I never knew before. If you’re going to do a Ripper tour in London, do yourself a favor and book with Big Ben!

I have done several tour in London. Last year, I got a recommendation from a fried on the goust tour of "London with a local". It was by far the best tour I have been in. Not only in London but also around the world. Until yesterday. Jake the Ripper tour was extraordinary. Booby our guide was a natural storyteller and he realy got us to Whitechaple during the Victorian era. Telling us about the victims who mattered is absolutely the right way to hear and learn about Jake the ripper murderers. Highly recommend. This company, this tour and Booby.

Ash was a very knowledgeable guide, and I really appreciated the emphasis on the woman who’s lives were taken, rather then focusing on the killer. He also included a bit of history of the local area and personal experience growing up in London. The meeting point was a little difficult to find as tower hill station had multiple entry points. Some more specific instructions would help

Original and thoughtful tour. Learned a ton, laughed a little along the way (only at appropriate things, of course). Really appreciated the angle of the conversation and a fun evening exploring London.

Ben was an utterly captivating guide. He’s a historian who studied at Cambridge and clearly knows Jack the Ripper inside out. Need I say more? But who was Jack the Ripper? Ben brings the story to life and gives you plenty to ponder about who the ultimate suspect might have been. We were hooked from start to finish.

Such an amazing experience. Fun to see some of the different sites as well as hear the history. Ashe was an amazing tour guide. So animated and fun in telling the stories. Would highly recommend! Definitely do in the evening as it’s getting dark. Adds a great atmosphere!

This tour was incredible! Ben was our tour guide and he was so knowledgeable on all of London’s history and he really brought the time period to life. The tour was thoughtful and respectful of the victims’ lives and we really learned so much, all while having an excellent time!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience on the Jack the Ripper tour, and Rob was an amazing guide! He was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and friendly, and he made the whole tour really interesting and enjoyable. What we appreciated most was how happy Rob was to answer all of our questions. He was patient and genuinely interested in talking with us, which made the tour feel much more personal rather than just a standard guided tour. His storytelling was also excellent — he brought the history and atmosphere of Victorian London to life. At the end of the tour, we asked Rob if he had any food recommendations, and he kindly gave us lots of suggestions. We ended up trying Flat Iron Steak based on his recommendation, and it was absolutely delicious! We honestly wouldn’t have found it without his suggestion, so a huge thank you to Rob! Overall, we highly recommend this tour, especially if you get Rob as your guide. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, approachable, and incredibly helpful. We did the tour with the best tour guide i could have ever imagined. Ben told the story so well we felt like we were in the 19th century. Would def recommend and book again!!!!

Amazing experience, free but tips are welcome. You'll see, the tour really worth it. Moreover at the end, we can get recommandations on lecture and movie and even on food. Big Ben really know his subject and put us on the atmosphere, so much that you won't see the time passing. Cannot recommend enough

It was the first time I attended a London tour with a local guide, and I was very impressed. At first, I was sceptical, thinking it would be one of those touristy things, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Don’t expect an overacting guide with a hat and a black cape. In fact, our guide for the Jack the Ripper tour was Ash: an amazing storyteller and actor who had clearly done a lot of research on the topic. He interspersed his storytelling with witty comments and references to present-day London, which made the whole experience feel engaging and relevant. Instead of recounting the story as a whodunnit, as everyone else seems to do, he flipped the perspective and made us look at it through the eyes of the murdered women. Rather than riding the wave of sensationalism, he talked at length about the infamous conditions of East London in the late 19th century, and particularly about the lives of these women, who had fallen on hard times and ended up working in the sex industry, treating them as real human beings rather than simply characters in a gruesome story. It was a refreshing take on this gruelling and sometimes rather trite story. Highly recommended.

Did similar tour 9 years ago and a lot of the buildings have changed but still a very informative tour, really enjoyed also seeing the city wall and how it's been incorporated into the modern building gs, Jamie very good

It was such an interesting evening. An enjoyable way to learn about the real criminal background and walk through those streets letting your imagination explore the old times. Ben did such a great job capturing everyone's attention. Such a recommended tour 😁

The tour was really interesting and the tour guide Ben was very knowledgeable. It was a last minute booking after the guide of the original tour we booked onto never turned up, which in hindsight we are glad of because this tour was much better than we had originally planned.

Amazing tour. Our tour guide was Ben and he made the tour very interesting and also funny (as far as that's possible with such a dark subject). The tour was very factual yet interesting and not just "spooky" which was very nice. We definitely recommend this tour.

Our tourguide Ben did a great job! He is very passionated, gives you lots of interesting information but has the talent that you don‘t feel overwhelmed. It was my first time in London. Lucky me I booked the Street Art Tour from London with a Local (Guide Irish Bobby) and this has been one of the best tours I‘ver ever made (it was the first time I wrote a review, because he and the tour and as I know now the Company London with a Local really deserves cheering them up!) Unlucky me I booked a Sherlock tour from another company (didn‘t notice that while booking) and this was horrible. So today I decided to book the Jack the Ripper Tour again with London with a Local (company of the Street Art Tour) and what should I say: obviously the guide but somehow the company matters!! Thank you Ben for a great experience! Highly recommend!

This was one of the best guided tours we’ve taken. Sam was fantastic—full of information and facts about not only Jack the Ripper but also general history for the area.

Loved it! Colin was really enthusiastic. He has a great voice to listen to, so you don't miss any part of the story.

The BEST tour we have ever done. Amazing guide in Ben who supplied so many anecdotes we felt that we were living through a story.

Brilliant tour. Guide really knowledgeable and made it about the victims and the history of London rather than sensationalising Jack the Ripper. Couldn’t recommend the tour more. Especially as a pay what you think, it makes it affordable but doesn’t scrimp on quality.

Tour guide was so fun, had a mix of city facts, Jack the Ripper facts and modern day facts.

Thank you Ben for a fabulous tour! We went on the afternoon tour which was convenient and hot but Ben always stopped in shady places, which was a godsend. His knowledge and enthusiasm were exceptional and anyone experienced tour walker would appreciate his guiding and his engaging personality.

Ashley was a fantastic guide. His stories and the way he told the stories of each of the Ripper's victims were informative and structured nicely. Ash's delivery was animated and made us really feel what the lives of each victim were like before they tragically ended. He led the tour to make us remember the stories of each of the canonical five, and made special note that it was more worthwhile to understand the wonderful lives the victims led rather than merely speculating who the Ripper was.

Wow, what an incredible afternoon! I'd always wanted to do this tour, but the prospect of visiting the notorious Ripper-related sites on a foggy, creepy Autumn evening seemed like a tad too alarming a prospect. It was great to be able to visit these spots and learn lots of new info on a Sunday afternoon. Having a background in history and literature, and having devoured every Ripper documentary and film available online, I thought I knew the gist of the historical facts. Our guide Big Ben, however, regaled us with an array of new perspectives, historical leads and insights into different aspects of the crimes. His knowledge of the wider context of the murders and the political/class/gender aspects was also captivating. Hats off to Ben for the clarity of his info and the charming manner in which it was delivered. Two hours flew by, and we're particularly grateful for the extra 20-30 minutes he hung around at the end to field further questions. It was quite amusing to see how the tour group continued to linger and follow him despite the formal end of the tour - a sure sign of his expertise! Definitely undertake this tour if you have a few hours free. It was insanely good value for money. As a teacher myself, I know how hard it is to maintain the devoted attention of an audience with a fact-based monologue, but hand on heart, Ben had us all gripped and, to be honest, hungry for more... We could have happily spent another hour or even two discussing the ins and outs of the new info and getting a feel for the area as it was in the period. The tour was well paced, thoughtfully choreographed and inclusive of different sensitivities/proclivities and ages. Ben was also highly attuned to the sensitive nature of the events described and tasteful in his delivery. One of my favourite afternoons in London after 15 years of living here.
