A fabulous way to spend the afternoon, seeing quirky parts of London that you wouldn’t ordinarily see. Just the right level of difficulty to be challenging enough.

We did the hunt for the Cheshire cat on Sunday one of 4 games from hidden city. Like the 007 game was great fun, getting the clues working out where to go next and finding and visiting pubs and other shops that we did not know was there, and I have been coming up to London all my life being a 66 year old man, its good for all ages, we are looking forward to doing moriarty's game and the enchanted mirror in the new year,if you want to do something different this is it great way to see plants of central London and great fun
Without a doubt one of the most fun, engaging days out in London I've had. It was so immersive and really did feel that you were on a mission that noone else was aware of! Can only equate it to the kind of feeling you get when you're a kid and its Christmas Eve and you're not quite sure what you're going to get! Price was probably about right, nice to get a discount incentive for booking abother one, if you enjoyed the first. Would highly recommend if you are looking for something that makes you think, get your steps in and let's you feel a like there's a little bit of magic for a few hours.
Such a great way to see the bits of London that you never knew were there. I loved the little alleyways that you’d never ordinarily see. We did our mission as a highly competitive couple and met lots of others doing the same mission along the way. We had competitive chats with them as well as helped each other at times. It was really great fun. Also a huge thank you to Hidden City who were super helpful when we cocked up with our booking 🫶🏻
The game was lots of fun to do together. Great locations throughout taking us to parts of London we’ve never been or thought to go to before. The clues were challenging (some more than others) but we managed between us to work them all out without the need to request an additional clue! The game works really well with all the messages coming through on WhatsApp and the interaction with people at various locations, including two phone calls was great too. The pub stops/breaks were appreciated and enjoyed - great choices and we'll be back to them again. Overall a very clever concept and a great way to spend time up in London. We would certainly recommend this as a great way to spend several hours immersed in an interactive game and see London in a different light.
This is our third game for me and my friend, and not disappointed at all, so much fun seeing new place, interacting with the people you come across though the game, working out the puzzle differently a great day out
It was the perfect activity for a date. Challenging and entertaining enough to keep you engaged but with plenty of time and cool places to just hang out and chat.
Lovely experience, really fun and a great way to see the city
This game is sooo much fun! You see bits of London and notice things you’d never normally notice. Interacting with real life stuff and people is super exciting and the game is so immersive and gripping. I absolutely love it.
Great day to spend the day out in London. It was a fun activity to do.
Brilliant day with great clues and fab location. So much fun.
Such a brilliant experience! The game was so much fun and kept us entertained the whole way through. We discovered so many new places around London that we’d never come across before. A really unique and enjoyable way to explore the city. We had a fantastic time!
Everyone should do this! Really fun way to find all of the places you never knew were there in London. The riddles were so well constructed and the staff both before or after were brilliant. It’s a fantastic day out and a fabulous way to support the businesses you knew nothing about. Well done Hidden City for a fantastic concept!
THINK TWICE BEFORE BOOKING WITH THIS COMPANY I booked this HiddenCity experience through TripAdvisor as a birthday activity for today. Unfortunately, the ticket I received was for tomorrow. It appears that when purchasing through the TripAdvisor experience section, the booking transfers to HiddenCity and flips the date to the following day. I thought this would be a simple issue to resolve, so I contacted TripAdvisor chat while travelling to the starting location to ask for the booking to be moved to today. Unfortunately, this turned into a very frustrating experience. * There is no effective telephone support — the number provided does not accept incoming calls. * I sent an email but received no response. * I sent two Facebook Messenger messages. Despite an automatic response saying they would reply within a couple of hours, nobody followed up. * I contacted TripAdvisor’s help chat and spent over an hour trying to resolve the problem. * TripAdvisor said they would contact HiddenCity on my behalf, but HiddenCity had not responded to them. We had travelled specifically to London for this activity and it was a birthday gift, so I felt under considerable pressure to find a solution. The birthday boy really wanted to do the experience, so, very reluctantly, I ended up buying another set of tickets for today via Hidden City (don’t trust TA after the date flipping) We have therefore effectively had to pay twice because of a booking/date issue that neither company has been able to resolve. What makes this even more frustrating is TripAdvisor’s suggestion that we simply do the original booking again tomorrow. What a stupidly stupid suggestion. We came specifically to London for this activity — telling us to come back and do it again another day is not a reasonable solution, particularly when I had made it very clear that we were on our way. At the time of writing, we are still waiting to see whether HiddenCity or TripAdvisor will actually take responsibility and provide a satisfactory resolution. The experience itself may well be ok, but the customer service and support when something goes wrong have been extremely disappointing. If you are considering booking, my advice would be to think twice because if you have a problem, there does not appear to be an effective way of getting help. Very disappointing, frustrating and, so far, unnecessarily expensive.
Allow plenty of time particularly with young kids. The tour was great but got a bit listless and tired towards the end. Would have given a four, but for the fact they request five star reviews by offering discounts for your next visit.
This was the third hidden city game we have played, having previously done the James Bond and Sherlock Holmes themed challenges. These were both great and the Hunt for the Cheshire Cat maintained the high level of fun. A quirky storyline with twists and turns showing many sights across London. The clues were a mix of levels of difficulty and as such made it a great day. The stops were well planned and allowed for a nice break from the afternoon sun whisky still solving clues. Highly recommended to all if you want a fund day out.
Lots of fun, for kids (8 and 11) and parents. Thoughtfully designed, everything worked well, and the service we received before we finally signed up was excellent. Definitely recommend.
The Cat made us walk 4 hours.... had the best day. Enjoyed all the puzzles. For a person living in London, I found this soooooo enjoyable. I would definitely do this again. Great for visitors or a local. Happy day well spent :)
Is such a great way to connect with friends and explore the city! Great mix of challenge without feeling like you’re in an escape room and need to be given a million clues! Think would also be fun with a big group and divide into teams to make it more of a challenge! Would do again 100%
This is the third HiddenCity we have completed after 007 and Moriarty. As usual the game was excellent with really good clues and a superb route. We got to visit places we hadn't been to before. The staff in all the establishments played their part well too. I would highly recommend
Wow, what an absoluly BRILLIANT experience. The clues were so clever, and clearly a lot of time and effort had been put into the game. Plus you get to visit parts of London that you wouldn't normally see! It was just the right level of difficulty, and the interaction with the people along the way (e.g. in the bars/cafes) made the game feel super immersive. I'd thoroughly recommend it - we're already looking into doing another one soon!
We were tired and didn't want to give the game a good effort...plus it was fairly tough for me and my teenager. We just wanted something that would show us London in a fun way but it was not doing that. It just took us down a bunch of alleyways until we gave up.
Fantastic experience from start to finish. Loves the interaction with the shops, cafes and pubs... Also loved the use of props. Just the 007 experience left to complete the set.
Had such a fun experience, having lived in and around London for 48 years the city gets really boring and expensive at times. This opened up little areas of London I didn't even know existed, and they utilize other businesses which I think Is a fantastic idea. I don't want to give anything away but one clue had us stumped and we were laughing once we realized the answer was staring us in the face the whole time. I thought this was amazing value for money and we had a brilliant time.
We had a fantastic time doing Hunt for the Cheshire Cat. The whole experience was really well planned and the puzzles kept us thinking without being frustrating. I especially loved the audio responses—they added a fun, immersive touch to the adventure. It also took us to parts of London we hadn’t explored before, which made the journey even more enjoyable. Along the way we discovered some quirky bars and interesting stops that we probably would never have found otherwise.
The game was super well organized and showed us London in a way even the local residents had not seen. And the outsiders throughly enjoyed this way of seeing the lanes and highlights of London. The 4 mile route covers most of central London and the clues are very engaging and reasonably challenging and fun to solve. Lots of pubs and Thames crossings where you can pause and relax.
A team of children ranging in age from 9-15yo. It's a long afternoon, with a lot of walking but so many possible recharge points - ice cream parlour, chocolate shop etc. We loved how the bar staff where in on the adventure! We definitely needed some tips along the way but it was super easy to text and ask for help. Highly recommend for an afternoon with kids and/or adults!
We were a family of 4. Kids age 11 and 13. We had a brilliant time on this tour. It was well organised, easy to follow and great fun. It took us around 3.5 hours - having a drink in a couple of the bars. Took us into some areas of London we would not have gone otherwise which were really interesting to see. The props and games we were given after stating our secret code to staff at various different venues across the city were a good level of difficulty - made us think, but not impossible and the interactivity with the venues and messages etc was really clever. We were enjoying spotting other people on our travels that might also be doing a tour. Highly recommend.
First time doing this brand's hunt. It was really good. Clues accessible but did take some working out. Pausing to stop for a drink or something to eat was a nice touch. I ended up seeing some parts of London I hadn't seen before and I used to live there!
I did this experience with my friends in London for my birthday. The overall experience was enjoyable and had many elements of fun mystery solving, staff roleplay and city exploring over a vast scale. However, my group and I did have a few issues to note. The game does not have any features to let you know how much more there is to complete (no checkpoints) which left my group confused and stressed. As a result, we had to end the game early and continue another day before the 28 day expiration. We were very pleased to get the chance to continue where we left off but were disappointed to have finished the game on day two after only following 3 clues. If we had known we were this close to the end, my other friends could have reached the end with us and we would not have needed to organise a second day. We also found that the finale was underwhelming but had fun completing the event.
We had a great day. There were 4 teams competing for a 70 th birthday celebration. Despite being the wettest day of the year we all managed to crack the clues and end up in the right place soggy but satisfied having had lots of laughs on the way
Such a great day. Took all day with food and drink stops and saw parts of London I have never seen. Great fun. We were a group of 5, parents and three adults kids (aged 19 to 26).
This was an amazing afternoon of discovering parts of London we had never seen before. It was a really immersive experience and we really enjoyed it. Some of the clues required a little out of the box thinking which gave a real sense of achievement. Would 100% recommend. If you have any questions the customer help team are amazing.
We had a fantastic time with plenty of laughs hunting for the Cheshire Cat and celebrating a 60th birthday in the process. We loved the challenge, receiving clues by WhatsApp and the attempts to derail the hunt. Despite having lived in or near London for 40 years, we discovered hidden gems along the way. This is the 3rd Hidden City game we've done , having already completed 007 Shadow of Spectre and Moriarty's Game; they've all been very different but have introduced us to new areas and places to eat and drink and had us interacting with people along the way. We can't wait to to do The Enchanted Mirror game.
Great activity for a group, fun way to see the city, the clues make you think enough for it to be challenging but not too hard it’s impossible and some hidden gems of places to call at for pit stops on the way. We were with a mixed group with 3 adults and 3 kids aged 4-11. Trickier for the 4 year old but he was swept up in the moment and we kept it fairly chilled with the competitive element, highly recommend as something different but still incorporating a lot of key sights - shout out to all the staff at all the pit stops as well who were friendly and welcoming and never once looked or sounded fed up at having random groups coming in!
Such a fun experience that took us around london to places we would have never gone to without doing this. We had a brilliant time and it was nice to get our brains working!
Well structured walk across London with puzzles to take you from Place to Place. Do it at your own pace and get some good exercise.
Very fun, a great walk around the city, and the perfect challenge for riddle/puzzle loving couples! We did the Cats Challenge being Alice and Wonderland themed and it was so fun! We can’t wait to return to London to try the other versions
We did this game as a family with children aged 9 to 14 and everyone really enjoyed it. It is fast paced and interactive and a great way to discover new parts of the city. There is quite a bit of walking but our normally reticent to walk children didn't complain once! Highly recommended
Our family really enjoyed this experience, we found it fun and challenging. Our ages ranged from 8 to 50 and we were all entertained. Lovely, creative, attention to detail. Would recommend
I’ve been visiting London for weekend getaways and day trips for years, but for our 10th wedding anniversary, we decided to do something a little more whimsical—chasing the Cheshire Cat. From the very beginning, we were handed a curious pocket watch that became our companion throughout the adventure, guiding us across the city. As we solved each riddle, new clues were sent to our team via text, with a few surprise encounters sprinkled in to keep us on our toes. It took us about three and a half hours to complete, and it was such a refreshing change from our usual museum circuit. We’ll definitely be signing up for another HiddenCities experience—this one was a brilliant twist on exploring London.
We enjoyed a fantastic day that began on The Strand, in a pub (always a good sign!) following clues and routes around famous parts of London, but from a completely different perspective. The thought and consideration that goes into those who pull the experience together is incredible, its very clever, truly thinking outside the box (but once you are in the mindset, it quickly comes together) and although the phone batteries take a bit of a hammering, you can be sure that WhatsApp help is at hand if you do get stuck along the way and cannot figure out the answer. We only had to do that a couple of times, and mid way through, in another pub which formed a key part of the game, we found ourselves with other teams - families, gal pals, older couples etc. and although no clues/insights were shared, everyone agreed they were having fun and looking forward to the rest of the game. A great day was had, and we will for sure be doing another!
This was our second experience with Hidden City, which we did because we had enjoyed the first (the Sherlock Holmes one) so much. This was just as enjoyable as the first time. We really liked it for a couple of reasons. The first is the enjoyment of solving the problems, which are set at just the right level to be tricky whilst not impossible. The second is the route. I've lived in London for almost my entire life, and yet the route takes me to places I had never been before, showing me cool and fun places. I imagine that if I was a visitor to the city this aspect of the experience would be even more enjoyable. Finally, we were very happy with the choice of refreshment stops, all of which were quirky and somewhat off the beaten track. Thoroughly recommended.
We completed the hunt for the Cheshire cat. It was an amazing experience. We love the interactivity of the experience and all the new places ventured. We will definitely book again to try them all. Highly recommend!
Did the Cheshire cat hunt yesterday with my 13 yr old daughter, my sister, and her 2 kids, 9 and 13 yrs old. Was really good fun, and the clues were entertaining and so interesting, if a little tricky at times! You definitely have to turn your brain on and concentrate as you can easily miss parts of a clue/directions. Unfortunately, we didn't finish it as it just took a bit too long, and the kids ended tired and hungry. We started at 3.30pm due to work restrictions and I think it was too late in hindsight, which was totally our issue, and I would definitely advise others to start earlier (esp if you have kids with you) so you don't have to rush and can take adequate breaks which you will need as there is a lot of walking. If you are with kids, you really need to prepare them for what it is going to be like, esp if they get bored easily or don't like walking too far! I would also suggest to the organisers to number the clues/advise how many there are as we didn't know how many there were and might have continued had we known that there were only a few left. Having said all that, it was really cool at times and a really great way to see parts of London you wouldn't normally see!
Another fantastic day out in London completing this challenge. As with all the other challenges we have completed (all 4 now), all clues sent to you made you look about, work out what you are searching for, send in your answer, responses to answers were very quick and on you go with the next clue. Very family friendly although there are some distances covered so make sure everyone is able. I cannot recommend these challenges enough to people who want to do something a little different with their weekend.
What a great idea! A really enjoyable couple of hours (you can do it at your own pace), there are questions to test a different range of thinking styles (great for groups and something for everyone), we really liked the cleverness of the whole idea, and of using things in everyday sight, and just really great activity that we will be doing again (different mysteries exist).
We've done three of the games now, and this (Hunt 6 the Cheshire Cat) might be our favourite. That could be because we started earlier in the day, which meant we could really relax into it and enjoy the city in the daylight. The weather was lovely, the route took us through some incredible spaces, and choosing the path of evil definitely made things more thrilling! The game itself was excellent. Some of the clues were a bit more cryptic compared to the others we’ve played—we had to ask for help a couple of times—but that just meant we had to think more critically. We also noticed the distances between locations were a bit bigger in this one, so we racked up more steps, which was a bonus. As a lifelong Londoner, it’s always a treat to explore parts of the city I haven’t been to before. This adventure took us to both hidden gems and better-known landmarks, and it was a fantastic way to experience the city from a fresh perspective.
The game took me on a tour of parts of London I’d never seen before. I discovered fascinating streets and hidden gems that I’ll definitely visit again. The clues were engaging and so satisfying to solve. It was a wonderful way to explore and enjoy London on such a beautiful summer evening.
It was such a super fun way to have a day walking around London! So much effort was put in this and the organizers seem to really be passionate about this. We loved all the clues and secret passcodes and the involvement of local venues!
