The Enchanted Mirror By Hiddencity

We did this treasure hunt as a Halloween day out, and we had a thoroughly good time. The clues came to us via WhatsApp from different characters in the story, some of which were solved by finding clues in pubs where the bar staff were expecting us and we had the opportunity for some refreshments. I can thoroughly recommend HiddenCity for a fun day out. We have already done The Hunt for the Cheshire Cat which was just as good and we are now planning out next one. The flexible being able to change the date after you have already booked is brilliant with the temperamental British weather. If you are looking for a day out in London that is a bit different, this is ideal.

So much fun! And fantastic customer service when I needed to contact them afterwards (about us not having time to finish it, not a problem with the experience). Got to see some great parts of London that I wouldn't normally experience.

Overall very disappointed. We had come across the Hidden City (HC) website and we thought that the Enchanted Mirror would be a fun thing to do with some family members who had recently moved to SW5. We have done a few escape room type things over the years and the initial puzzles/clues - the tone setters - are absolutely key to the level of enjoyment. Clearly, this isn't an escape room but the principle of having a good tone setter applies for this experience. Unfortunately, the first two locations aren't good tone setters - you don't need to visit the second location in order to answer the riddle - and to be honest we still don't know where the second location is. The Hidden City website with the game instructions isn't all that easy to read on a phone screen so that didn't help us when we wanted to take a break. You can only take breaks at the locations permitted by HC - and that isn't particularly clear. At the second pub location, there were a couple of other things which went a bit wrong. Firstly, we only found about the bar discount after we had ordered and paid for our drinks. Secondly, and more importantly, the puzzle we were given to complete had an extra piece in it - so we spent ages trying to solve it. For the £29 per head we paid - this is expensive for what it is. Would we do another one - no. Next time, we'll go old school and use a guidebook for a walk around London.

This is the second game I have played. I found it a lot of fun, it makes you think. You also see places you wouldn’t normally see.

This was my fourth Hidden City game (sadly, I've now done all of them). This is one of my favourite things to do in London on a nice day. I've taken visitors and local friends, makes a great birthday gift. I love that I always find myself in a part of London I've never been. It's such a fun and unique way to spend a day. And I'm always impressed with the thought that goes into these games.

An absolutely lovely trip with a great mix of walking and search clues alongosde physical clues during breaks at the pub and clues. It was a wonderful way of getting to explore a new part of london

After opting to attempt to complete “The Enchanted Mirror” we purchased the tickets directly from the operator. Prices and general information concerning the individual games are available on the informative website. All members of the team provided their mobile phone numbers and immediately texts started to come through with challenges, riddles and clues. Route directions are designed to be solved but if there any problems encountered along the way you can text for help or hints which are provided immediately. The actual challenge begins to creep in and we found asking for help to be the very last straw. The game also involved interacting with real people in real jobs which is so amusing. The game also provides stopping points within the game where refreshments can be taken. One of these was particularly popular with us and the food was superb. This is a fantastic way to see parts of London that you may never have normally ventured into. As a family experience it was heartwarming and so much fun, fun, fun. The backup from HiddenCity is brilliant and I cannot wait to do the next game.

This was great fun! Starting in South Kensington we were guided as we solved clues across Hyde Park to Notting Hill finishing up in High Street Kensington. A few stops along the was for refreshments made the afternoon pass by in a jiffy. A great way to see parts of London I didn’t know well (as a Londoner as well). Highly recommended

Great experience to see west London whilst having fun solving puzzles. Took us around 2 hours and 30 mins. Was a good laugh with my wife.

A great way to explore London on foot whilst playing this interactive game. Takes about 3-4 hours with a couple of pit stops for refreshments. We really enjoyed it and would recommend.

A great way to spend the afternoon. The pubs along the way were great and we saw some interesting parts of London.

Really fun, my feet hurt by the end of it so to save everyone else WEAR GOOD WALKING SHOES, there are spots to rest but we wanted to go full on so they gave us the option to skip our rest. It was a crazy fun experience; we all loved it!!!

We always enjoy these hunts. You get to see parts of London you would never look for, find clues that always lead to more and solve a challenge. Working as a team I'd say its 'great bonding fun!'

This is our third Hidden City escapade. Some of the group have done 4. It's a really nice way to spend time - ambling about less well-known parts of London, solving clues, and stopping off now and then in coffee shops or pubs where we were given puzzles to do to take us to the next destination. The tech behind the games works surprisingly well. Every now and then there's a glitch (not all registered phones getting messages) but nothing stopped the game working and us having fun (well, apart from being so deep in nattering that we walked straight past a clue and it took us a while to rewind - but that's not Hidden City's problem!). The one time something did go wrong in a previous game (a public building being closed for the first time that I have known it be closed. Again, not Hidden City's fault) the team at HC responded with grace and generousity to make sure that we didn't feel hard done by. All in all, if you like a bit of gentle puzzle solving, and you like walking around London streets that you have never seen before, being made to be observant, you will probably really enjoy these games.

Our fourth experience doing a 'hidden city' (hope they will be developing more soon!) and it definitely didn't disappoint. We are always so impressed with the way the games take you through 'hidden' (totally understand why that the company name was chosen) parts of London - as well as the ingenious and interactive clues. Loved the pubs on this one - amazing atmospheres. Can't wait to do another.

This is our second treasure hunt and can't wait for our third. The great thing about HiddenCity is that you interact with real people and get to hold real clues. Bonus is that we got to see parts of London we had never discovered before. Highly recommended.

This was a fantastic day out with friends. It was easy to book and everything comes to your phone. We booked the Enchanted Mirror We loved that as soon as you get to the starting point you type Begin then the clues kept coming. This experience made us all happy and we enjoyed going around places we would’ve thought about visiting. Kensington was full of surprises. So was the game. It takes you to pubs and coffee shops to ask for clues and then had time for a drink and something to eat.We had time to have a break. The game lasts 3-4 hour’s. It’s for all age groups. There is walking involved so wear comfy shoes like trainers. I would highly recommend the games.

We had a lot of fun exploring parts of the Kensington neighborhood we hadn’t seen before the puzzles were challenging but fair, and you can choose to linger in pubs/cafes enjoying the atmosphere and talking to people. This is our third Hidden City adventure, and they’ve all been enjoyable.

The Enchanted Mirror took us, via some interesting and occasionally hard clues, to areas of Kensington that we hadn't previously visited, including some fabulous locations. We enjoyed it immensely, despite the freezing temperature and wind chill. Another brilliant few hours thanks to HiddenCity. Recommended for all inquiring minds!

My wife and I completed the Enchanted mirror quest today and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We love the way that the clues are tricky but once you see what you're looking for then the question is entirely obvious. We had a small hiccup with a correct answer initially being told was wrong and a shop was closed due to us doing it on 2nd January... But the customer service from Ellise has been first class and we can't wait to take on the next challenge. T Highly recommended.

This is our third Hidden City adventure. We've enjoyed them all. Challenging clues and puzzles, interesting off the beaten track locations, great venues. A lot of fun!

We played The Enchanted Mirror today and had a brilliant time following the clues into parts of London we've never been to. We've previously done the 007 and Moriarty games, and we're back for more! You can race through the clues or, as we do, take time to enjoy the surroundings and stop for breaks. Great fun for all ages. It's also quite funny when you cross paths with other teams! Highly recommended!

Our group thoroughly enjoyed the Enchanted Mirror experience, the route was so much fun and the clues were all well written. We've completed nearly all the games between us now, each one is unique and explores a unique part of London. The staff are also extremely helpful and thoughtful. I'd highly recommend this to anyone for a fun outing with friends or family!

Really great way to see the more unexplored parts of London. The clues and riddles are also super fun! We had a great time and will definitely do more of these :)

I did this trail with a friend and it was a great way to explore the area, observing and taking in things we would not normally have noticed, at the same time as doing an activity which was fun, challenging and mentally rewarding. Having a fabulous pub lunch midway through was also a fantastic idea. We both loved it and will do another Hidden City again soon.

Such a great experience, would highly recommend to anyone looking for an original activity. Got to explore London and have fun solving clues at the same time!

We did the Enchanted mirror game and it was a great family experience. We all enjoyed trying to solve the clues and finding the correct places to visit. I would definitely recommend it as it’s a great way to see parts of London in a fun way. We will be doing another one soon.

The event was great fun and a great way to explore a bit of the city! We were two couples with experience of phones but little experience of the type of game/system, it was really straightforward and we were able to navigate it easily. Which meant we could focus on the game and play! I would advise that you start early and wear good outdoor clothes. Enjoy!

Went as part of a work day, and it was incredibly fun, the puns were great the clues were cryptic in a great way and had different kinds of descriptions so avoided going into a boring rhythm. We had to stop early(3 hours in) because we had a lunch appointment so will definitely be doing it again as an all day event

This is well worth the money! Such a great afternoon and really well organised. Loved that it encourages use of local businesses too! Would absolutely recommend and it was the perfect difficulty! Wasn't too hard or too easy. Absolutely loved it! Can't wait to do some others. Shame we didn't make it onto the leaderboard.

The Enchanted Mirror was a brilliant day out, walking around the cool bits of London, and following really fun clues. it also let us stop I a pub or two for a drink and a bite to eat. A really fun day, and I will definitely be doing it again!!

A great way to see the city and places you wouldn’t normally visit. A fun day popping into retailers and pubs to find clues and we even received 10% discount off our lunch when we stopped to solve a clue!

Loved this activity! Such a great way to spend time with friends in a fun and chilled experience. Plenty of stop offs along the way to help refuel and solve the puzzles! The concept and setup were great! We can’t wait to play more games!

Fantastic fun and challenging clues - takes you around some fab places - loved it! Would recommend this to anybody who loves a challenge!

Another great adventure. This is the third one we've done, and we're already excited about the next! I cannot recommend these enough. We're in our 30s/40s and they help us unleash our inner child for the day. Lots of lovely stops along the way, and you get to see parts of London you'd usually miss.

Had a very unique experience with colleagues! The game allows us to tease our brains while discovering the hidden treasure spot of the city, it feels much more special than just walking on the touristic hotspots! The game also collaborates with different shops where you can also have interactions with people by speaking your scripted language, it is quite funny :) Also the game is also very considerate with the pace, it schedules good pause timing for you to recover the energy at pubs/bars etc so it feels really structured but also surprisingly sparkle! After our work event I booked immediately another one with my husband for a date!

To be honest all HiddenCity experiences are golden hidden gems in London. Must do for a tourist that have extra time and all the locals Cheap, fun, not going to disappoint!

This is the 2nd time we have done an activity with Hidden City and the experience was true to the expectation. We went with few 13 year olds and it was amazing to see them completely engaged in trying to solve the clues. The clues took us to some hidden lanes/ pubs that we wouldn’t have known existed. It’s a great way to explore London. Highly recommend Hide. city if you are up for walking and enjoy discovering new places in a fun way.

Another fantastic day out exploring streets and areas totally new to us. Clues and directions very clear and easy to follow. Thoroughly recommend any of the challenges as have now done 3 and each as enjoyable as the previous. Great day out providing you are prepared to walk some distance.

The experience was brilliant and made a great part of our day out. We got to see some beautiful parts of the city that we would have never found on our own!

We had a right blast playing this. It was a great way to discover hidden parts of London, with great pubs along the way. The format was interesting and easy to use whilst challenging everyone in our group, loads of ah ha moments, with us all having our moments of brilliance to crack the clues

The treasure hunt took about 3 hrs and took us through some nice places in South Kensington. Kept the kids and adults engaged. Got a nice little treat at the end of the adventure too! We will definitely try one of the other games from Hidden City.

Amazing fun with friends, plus you meet others on the way round. Well recommended. Great seeing sights round London you wouldn’t normally go to.

Fantastic fun with my 12 and 9yo kids. Brilliant way to see London (even in the rain!). We loved it and can't wait to do another one.

Great experience today had a real adventure. Found the clues critical and detailed. Which really helped. Only criticism would be we had the breaks where specified but did t realise you had to complete the puzzle first for the time to pause. We had a great time walking and seeing new places. Thank you

Another interesting and very well organised adventure from Hidden City. It is fun, gets the brain working, gets you some exercise (at your own pace) and you will visit interesting area's of London you would otherwise miss. We choose to take our time and enjoy the experience. This adventure is for everyone, some of the clues are more challenging than others, but all doable. There is no need to rush. It is obvious the team from Hidden City have put a lot of work into the planning of this experience. Booking is simple, pre instructions are provided and the team are available to assist with any questions. Once you begin on the day it is all straight forward with the clues/links that are provided. We found the support team excellent. Thank you for another great day out.

We’ve done a couple of HiddenCity adventures now, and they never fail to deliver! We did the enchanted mirror today and have previously done the 007 theme Spector one. Both completely different but equally exciting and extremely well done. We’ve taken our kids with us who love it and help find the clues and directions. Everyone enjoys it and no complaining about walking for around 3 hours!! The weather doesn’t matter! Just walk around London! Enjoy the sites and have a really good time Can’t wait to do the next one when the kids break up from school!
