I had a great time. Del -the guide - and Ross -our driver created a magical atmosphere throughout. Highly recommended.

Itinerary
Liverpool is a port city in northwest England, located at the confluence of the Mersey River and the Irish Sea. From the 18th to the early twentieth centuries, it was a vital trade and migration port. It is also famous for being the hometown of The Beatles. Ferries cruise the waterfront, where the Pier Head is dominated by the iconic mercantile buildings known as the "Three Graces" – the Royal Liver Building, the Cunard Building, and the Port of Liverpool Building.
The Beatles Story exhibition at Albert Dock shows the lives and times of John, Paul, George and Ringo, from the band's early days right through to their solo careers.
Magical Mystery Tour: Tours start at the Albert Dock – meet your guide at the Magical Mystery Tour Ticket Office in Anchor Courtyard just a few metres from the bus stop where you will get on board the colourful Magical Mystery Tour coach for an unforgettable 2 hour tour. See the Beatles childhood homes, schools and colleges and get up close to places that inspired some of their most memorable songs – Penny Lane and Strawberry Field. You’ll be kept entertained along the way by one of our professional Beatles Guides and some Fab Four tunes. The tour finishes at the legendary Cavern Club where you can enjoy live music every afternoon from the Cavern’s resident musicians. Your tour ticket also gives you free general admission to the Cavern Club in the evening of your tour date.
"Strawberry Fields Forever" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles, written by John Lennon and credited to the duo Lennon–McCartney. It was released in 1967 and is the band's best-known song. It was released as a double A-side single with "Penny Lane" on the 13th of February, 1967, in the United Kingdom. The song was inspired by Lennon's childhood memories of playing in the garden of Strawberry Field, a Salvation Army children's home in Liverpool located near John Lennon's childhood home in Woolton. John Lennon used to play in the wooded garden behind his home with his friends Pete Shotton, Nigel Walley, and Ivan Vaughan.
Penny Lane is a street in Liverpol made famous by The Beatles' 1967 single of the same name. John Lennon and Paul McCartney frequently met at Penny Lane to catch the town bus and their shared street experiences inspired them to write the song.
Make your way to 10 Matthew Street and visit this famous nightclub, which stands as the birth place of the Beatles. The Cavern Pub (opposite the Cavern Club) opens at 11am and contains memorabilia relating to the Beatles.

Not enough info on tickets and no one at train station to help redeem them - very confusing. You feel like no one is there from your company to meet you and guide you. Then you get off in Liverpool and again no o e there. You have to get to Albert Dock and you have t got a clue where it is! So it took a very long time to walk there. And then find a person to give you tickets to museum. And then find the bus!!! We would not do this again! Prefer a tour where you meet guide and group you’re with from the beginning.
The Magical Mystery Tour yellow bus ride was fantastic!!! Dealing with Viator was horrific. We showed up at the train station on time and never saw a Viator representative. We didn't receive our train tickets until a worker spent 20 minutes talking to Viator to send them to us. It was very frustrating! And Viator never apologized for the mistake!
We were never sent train tickets from London to Liverpool and return. We were on the line with Wicky at Viator but she was not able to get the tickets sent to us to be able to be in Liverpool for the rest of the tour. We have used this site many times in the past but this time, it was not a good experience. I paid over $1000.00 for 4 tickets which we couldn’t use. I am requesting a full refund as soon as possible.
It was not worth the money I paid for two people being that there was no group to meet you at the Euston station and no one to meet you when you arrive at the Liverpool station either, In fact a worker said to me that they hadn’t seen a Beatles group meet here in years and that i would be lucky if someone even met me at the Liverpool station. After arriving at the Liverpool station I took a uber to the Beatles experience since it was a 20 min walk from the station and it was cold outside! Again no group was there to meet! Afterwards when trying to go on the magical mystery tour bus the lady that was working there said I missed the 2:00 bus tour so I had to wait till 3:30. Again I had no idea I had to be there at 2! The highlight of the whole thing was the tour bus! That was amazing! After that we went to the cavern but because we missed the earlier bus tour we couldent enjoy the cavern at all because we would have missed our train back to London which originally I had to call for because they didn’t send me the train tickets at all at first! 🤯🤯🤯
Had a great time, it was interesting, informative and the Dale made it fun, put on appropriate music to allow us to peter ourselves further.
Be sure to get arrange a ride from the train station to the start of the tour. This detail is not included in the information.
The train vouchers issue was very confusing so I called Viator and they sent tickets for all the activities. The tour itself was fabulous. Tony the guide was so terrific and had been in a Beatle cover band around the world. Lots of stories. Dennis the driver was a magician driving the bus in very sticky situations and was also a Musician. Great fun was had by all🤗
The tour itself in Liverpool was very good and informative. There was an odd issue about not Getting responses each time I wrote the tour company. I would have liked an opportunity for the FC train ticket, that I had asked about early one. Not a lot of your direction. Also had reached out about return train time and never heard a response. Magical bus tour was fantastic, could have been 3 hrs to include the gravesite. More walking locations mapped out for Beatles Fans to enjoy would Have been nice. And the special token should be handed out on bus tour, not just going through Cavern at the end. Dale and Steve are the best tour guides! We were so lucky to have them.
Magical. Awesome! Since I was an adolescent i loved the Beatles and their music. Over the years I started to plan this trip and at my age of 65 I got it!. Thanks God
I booked the Beatles Bus Tour for my mum and aunt! We came all the way from London for the day and the girls had a fabulous time! The tour guides were friendly and welcoming! Highly recommend and great price too!
We did this tour in Liverpool and we cannot rate it highly enough! Dale Robert’s was a superb tour guide and Dennis the driver joined in well too. Cannot believe what great value for money our 2 hour tour was at £19.95 a ticket.
Well, what can I say what a fabulous tour?We had at the beatles museum. We learned so much about the beetles. This is situated just at the back of the Albert docks. You have to pre book I would highly recommend a visit its definitely worth it
Very thorough very extensive and information I would do it again……………………………………………………………………… ………………..
What a fabulous tour! We learned so much about The Beatles, and discovered the wonderful city of Liverpool. Dale, our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable, and quite funny too! Ross, our bus driver, made his way through the tight streets with ease. Highly recommend them both, and the tour. We will never listen to a Beatles song the same way again!
If you are a Beatles fan, this is definitely for you. They have pictures and instruments they use . You get an audio and stop in front of the number and explain everything about there life’s.
Directions simply said to meet at Albert Hall- we had to ask multiple people along the way where it was and then we couldn’t find Beatles experience. Once the tour started we did enjoy it, but the directions are very difficult to navigate with little or no street signs which created a lot of anxiety for us. After the tour was over they didn’t take you to the Cavern club - also have to find on your own which was a little difficult but so crowded you couldn’t even walk. Boo
first this is not the tour you hope it will be.... coming from London even though had tickets to train etc it was difficult to navigate!!! the train came early, and we missed it so had to get to another and then change to get there in enough time to get admittance to Beatle Story then bus! There is no assistance on train to tour, you figure it out yourself ! The Beatle Story is great but with such time restraints cant be relaxed if you want to get to the bus on time ..so no time for the shop which may be a good thing! lol Bus tour was ok the on and off with so many people takes too long, did see some interesting things but was not as much fun as had hoped! The bus drops you at a location with no instruction on how to get anywhere..back to train, to the club or waterfront! so decide if buying tickets yourself would be easier and less strained..you can get the tube on your own and buy the bus tickets seperately!!! lesson learned!
Very much enjoyed the Beetles Story (exhibition) and the Magic Mystery Tour bus around Liverpool. Our guide (Tony) and driver (Dennis) were outstanding. Highly recommend!!!
For any current/former Beatles fan, it is a MUST tour. Very informative on the entire Beatles time period................
Really good we enjoyed it friendly staff my favourite part was the plane beetles flying to New York you will learn all about the beetles
Very informative and logistically well organized tour. My travel to and from Liverpool ran so smoothly. Enjoyed the Magical Mystery Bus Tour around significant Beatles sites around Liverpool. Highly recommended!
Terrible experience in every way. We received an email with “instructions,” and we were told that a staff member would be at the station to answer any questions. No one ever showed up. Luckily, other people helped us, and when I explained the situation, they said: “You paid for a tour where they promised assistance at the station, and no one showed up? That always happens with this company.” When we got on the bus, we faced another issue: the entire tour was in English, something that was never mentioned when we booked it. I purchased three tours with this company, and this was the first one—and it was a disaster. My dad is a big fan, but his experience was completely ruined because neither he, my mom, nor my brother’s wife speak English. For a tour, this is unacceptable. When I messaged them to complain, their only response was to suggest that I buy audio guides. On top of that, you have to do everything on your own, no one helps you, and for that, it’s better to organize it yourself. There is no point in paying them for something you can easily manage by purchasing tickets directly from the official websites and arranging transportation yourself. Avoid this company at all costs.
We were looking for a package that required no thought on our part. Not the case here. The individual parts of the tour were great; we really enjoyed Dave and Chaz' bus tour and had a fun time at the Cavern Pub, Club and Restaurant. But we were in charge of the time management and figuring out how to get from one place to the next. No one meets you at the train when you depart or arrive... there is no one from the company to be found, which was verified by train station employees who rolled their eyes and said "they haven't shown up since Covid." We were able to figure it all out, but expected more help from this "package deal." Definitely recommend the attractions, but just know you're on your own!
WOW!!! I highly recommend this tour Del our tour guide had amazing insight into the Beatles history and liverpool he was very funny and encouraged questions we laughed, sung and learned 10/10 experience must do if your visiting liverpool!!
The tour was great. The Magical Mystery bus tour was interesting, seeing all the Beatles' houses, Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, etc. Tour guide information was mixed with relevant Beatles songs (e.g Penny Lane when you'd expect it). Very entertaining. The Beatles story was a lot more complete and interesting than I expected. And the Cavern Club was awesome. The only thing I would stress is that this tour is an "on your own" experience. You need to have all the tickets ahead of time, find the train in London on your own, make your way to all the places, and so forth. It's not hard, but it wasn't exactly clear to us that this was true until that day, so just be aware. Maybe Tripadvisor could make that a little clearer in the description as well. We ended up having to have the hotel we were staying in assist with printing tickets and such. A great experience, though, for Beatles fans!!!
Getting the train at Euston Station was straightforward. One in Liverpool it was an easy walk to Albert Docks. The Beatles Experience was a fantastic and very informative. The Magical Mystery Bus tour was amazing. Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. The Cavern Club was a great experience. No issues catching the train back to London. A definite recommendation for Beatles fans.

Great tour experience. Dave and Charles were very friendly and informative. Got to know a lot of additional information about the Fab Four.
The Beatle Story and the tour enlightened me to the degree of wanting to return!! Seeing the Beatles’ homes made it perfect!
If you are a Beatles fan this is the trip for you. You travel around Liverpool, in a comfortable coach, to the places mentioned in the Beatles songs and visit the early homes of George, Ringo, John and Paul. The information imparted by the tour guide Charlie was excellent, he explained the relevance of some of the Beatles lyrics, give a potted history of their early lives and interspersed this with some interesting facts about Liverpool. If you excuse the dad jokes Charlie was an excellent tour guide. The music chosen on the trip was relevant to the places we visited. This was not an easy drive, but Steve the driver always made sure that when we stopped it was a very safe area and the drive around was smooth and comfortable. The tour ended with a free entry to the cavern club.
This is a fantastic day out for any Beatles fan. The tickets for the museum and the bus tour were easily accessed and our hosts on the coach were highly knowledgeable and entertaining. Took my two teens and we all had the time of our lives.
Watching my 73 year old wife, a Beatles maniac and extremely versed Beatle expert act like a school girl finally getting to experience her ultimate bucket list dream. Both the museum and tour were incredible, especially the tour guide Neal and our friendly bus driver…Bravo and most outstanding, much thanks.
I’ve never been a fan of Beatles but I had enjoyed so much of my 2 hours visit in this museum! I love their audio guide has many languages including Cantonese (which also uses traditional Chinese as subtitle) The museum helped us to understand the history of Beatles including each member and their manager. I love the songs they play in the background for every room of the museum. I went without any expectation but I left and added many Beatles song on my Spotify playlist. It’s a great place to go as a family too I guess. I saw the kids enjoying this museum as well.
Very poor communication. Museum tour satisfactory. Bus tour provided mere glimpses of Liverpool sites. Sound system on bus very poor.
Beatles museum and bus tour were great. Our guide in the bus was friendly and knowledgeable. Made the tour very interesting
Magical mystery tour was amazing. Tony and Ross were fantastic as our guide and driver. Very knowledgeable, funny and friendly. Excellent value for money
Our tour guide was wonderful and they give you a great amount of time to see the city and explore. Great for Beatle fanatics and for those who are not!
From the beginning in the story was in depth with a free tour, the bus tour was in depth funny, Tony was the tour guide and extremely knowledgeable, while the cavern club was lovely and it was all affordable too.
We had the best time. The museum was amazing. Our host Dale and Driver Dave on the Magical Mystery bus were the BEST! They were friendly, funny, informative, and made this experience better than we could have imagined. Easy travel from London to Liverpool. Everything was close by. Great timing for everything.
Our Magical Mystery Tour guide was Neil, and Ross was our driver, and every moment of the two hours was fun, and magical. My Beatles-mad ten-year-old was pointed in the direction of everything that would interest him. From Penny Lane to Strawberry Fields, the tour is a must-do for any Beatles fan. Neil is entertaining and so knowledgeable, and the trip is interspersed with a Beatles soundtrack the whole way round. The museum is a treasure trove of mementoes and nostalgia. It took us around two hours to tour, but we listened to every single item on our headsets and looked at every single artefact and photo. There is a nice, relaxed atmosphere and it is very clean. Our wonderful trip culminated in the tour dropping us at the Cavern Club where we had lunch. The live music was great, and the burgers delicious. Huge thanks to Mia behind the bar who cleared it with her manager to start lunch service early for my famished son who was determined to eat at the venue. Excellent service, an historic and beautiful venue. Our museum visit, bus tour and Cavern lunch made our 24 hours in Liverpool so special, and we will cherish our memories forever.
Except for the very early “check-in” at 6:30am for a 7:43am train, and in which there was no one from the tour company to “check-in” with(!), the tour was good. The instructions were unclear and for the most part except the two hours on the Magical Mystery Bus, you’re on your own. There’s no pickup at the train station and no ride back, though walkable from the Cavern Club. The tour guide on the magical mystery tour was excellent and very knowledgeable and patient with late comers to the bus. Overall, it was a long but good day.
I grew up listening to the Beatles so this was a great experience for me. The day started off a bit Rocky as the Golden Tours company gave us the wrong time and info for departure at the train station from London. We had a good time today but just wanted to point out that they should change their departure instructions. There was no representative that met us at the train station this morning even though we were told in the instructions to meet one at 6:30am. I had to call the tour office at 6:40 after searching for the representative and then was told no one was coming. Also our train didn’t leave until 7:43 (departure time) so telling us to get to the train station at 6:30 was not kind. One and a quarter hours of waiting. I emailed twice the day before to confirm the later departure time on the e tickets and was told twice to get there for 6:30 to meet the representative on time. Not cool. The tour consists of visiting the Beatles Story museum on our own. Then we had lunch on our own and met the Magical Mystery tour bus that drove us around to see sights like Penny Lane, Strawberry fields and homes of the Beatles. They played music and that tour was really nice. We ended at the Cavern and had a great experience there with live music. Great experience for any Beatles fan but might suggest to arrange the train ride on your own to save the hassle.
Its been in my bucket list for over 50 yrs. The tours did not disappoint. The museum, the cavern club and the magical mystery tour bus and guide were better than I had invisioned. Touching & seeing the history of the band that is the 'BAR' was phenominal.
Did the magical mystery tour and it was great. Our guide provided a lot of information and lots of jokes.
Tony (of the Mersey Beatles band) was a great tour guide as well as very kindly lending a hand with photographs. Ross was our driver on the tour and, both he and Tony, made the whole bus tour relaxed and friendly. The ticket also got us into the Cavern Club at the end, which was magical in itself, as well as a lovely discounted meal at the Cavern Restaurant. I think the take-away from this tour was the friendliness and good-will of all the other people, both on the bus tour and in the Cavern. Everyone just wanted to enjoy the experience and let others enjoy it too.
Absolutely loved our trip especially the Magic Mystery Tour. This was our guide Tony’s first trip and he was great
Do it all , it was a fantastic spontaneous weekend away and we managed to do it all from our lovely hotel called Lock and Key hotel.
We had a great time but the details of this tour are convoluted. This is not a tour with a guide. You are simply buying a package deal with round trip train tickets, entry to The Beatles Story Museum and The Magical Mystery bus tour. Please note you are completely on your own and there is no guide. The website says the train from Euston Station in London leaves at 7:07am. They advise you to be at station at 6:45am. I printed the tickets Golden Tours emailed me but did not look at the time. Our train was 7:47. We arrived at the station 6:30am. We were not about to wait and we were fortunate to get a ticket agent to get us on the earlier train. We arrived in Liverpool and immediately found a spot for breakfast. After that we went to The Beatles Story Museum. The museum was good but there were throngs of school groups and we had to navigate through them. We had some time in between the museum and the magical mystery bus tour so we went to the Albert Docks, the Beatles statue and did some shopping in the Beatles Story store. The Magical Mystery bus tour was absolutely phenomenal. It was the highlight of our UK holiday. After the tour we had plenty of time for fish and chips, frozen yogurt and a walk through Liverpool One shopping center. We would have liked to stay later but our return train tickets could not be changed because they were purchased with a group rate. We would have had to pay the full fair to change our tickets. That was disappointing. Overall a wonderful day and we much preferred being on our own but Golden Tours should be more specific and advise tour goers that the time on their train tickets may not reflect what's on their website.
Visiting the Albert Dock area and seeing the River Mersey was interesting. We enjoyed the Beatles museum but it was too crowded and they should work on spacing out each group. Enjoyed the Magical Mystery Tour bus ride as well. Cavern visit was nice but way over commercialized.
