A great day out with teens. We all enjoyed the walking tour, learned a lot from Gary about street art and the East End of London. Really interesting. The girls had a great time and enjoyed the workshop too. Thanks Gary!

Our guide, Ava, was incredibly knowledgeable, and offered a fascinating history full of detail about the district and the many works that we saw from the very large to the very small. Questions were answered thoughtfully, and w Ava’s able guidance I was able to see things that I might normally walk by and never notice. I highly recommend this tour! Outstanding!
Fabulous tour, josh was a great guide. Good knowledge, really opened our eyes to the history & culture of street art. Would highly recommend
Just come back from the tour as our Xmas Team Activity. Our guide Natalie guided us around the streets taking time to show us the multitude of techniques used by the graffiti and street artists whose artwork adorn the streets. We then moved to the workshop to try out our own street art skills again under Natalie's guidance. Thank you so much Natalie we had so much fun whilst learning about the world of street artists.
The walking tour and workshop were fun and interesting. Excellent activity for teenagers. It rained a bit but who cares ?!
We had an amazing day with Josh. He was informative and engaging during the walking bit and then incredibly helpful and a fabulous instructor during the part where we were able to go off and create ourselves. Josh is an amazing teacher. He worked with everyone in our group to make sure we all had fun and created something unique. All 8 in our group (or all different ages) had a great day and I would highly recommend!
Fantastic tour and hands on experience! Thank you Josh for such an engaging and enjoyable experience!!!
This tour was absolutely fantastic! I learned so much from our passionate and knowledgeable tour guide, Laura. It’s obvious that she truly cares about art, and she so openly shared that love with all of us as we learned all about the street art around Brick Lane. We viewed so many pieces of various art all on a great walk at an easy pace. There was also some interesting history sprinkled in. I noticed that Laura also made it a point to try to speak with everybody in the group individually, and made us all feel comfortable. I highly recommend this tour!
Josh lead us on a tour that showed us the many different forms street art takes in East London from simple graphic stickers to fast sprayed designs and commissioned murals. The workshop at the end of the tour took place in a studio space where we learned stenciling and spraying techniques while creating our own works of street art. Our group was made up of 20, 30 and 50 year olds and we all loved it!
Great insights from Josh and such fun to finish with a short workshop. Josh explained the evolution of street art in London and brought it to life with examples
This was extremely well done It was education and enjoyment Josh. Our guide was excellent. He knew what he was talking about. He was informative. He was interesting, and he made it a really exciting day to learn more about how the beginning of graffiti art started and we got to see many very interesting pieces, and also walked along the main streets of brick Lane.
Natalie was a great guide. The two hours flew by and we could have gone further for hours. I learned so much and will keep my eyes open for the rest of my visit in this vibrant city. I can truly recommend the tour.
We had an amazing family time on the Street Art tour. Our guide Josh was totally amazing. We learned a lot, saw some stunning art work and we now understand the street art better, as well as appreciate it more. Which was the purpose of the tour. Thank you guys! You are on a great mission here and created incredible Art experience for us.
Book this tour now! We did the tour without the workshop, and in spite of rain, it’s one of the highlights of our trip. Eva is an incredibly knowledgeable and engaging guide to the constantly changing street art and graffiti art scene here. She gave wonderful historical information about the Spitalfields/Brick Lane neighborhoods, she taught my family so much about street art techniques and artists, and she just made this a wonderful way to spend a couple hours. We are now noticing works from artists highlighted on the tour all over London.
We had a great time seeing the street art and learning about the different influences and types of art. The time in the workshop was great- we all enjoyed our time creating our art!! Me and my two teen daughters had a blast.
Excellent and very informative. Josh did an amazing job opening my eyes to the whole street art scene. I can see how passionate he is about this art form. I recommend this to anyone who wants to have an amazing experience and appreciate this art form.
Our guide Alice did a fantastic job walking us through London’s East End showing us great examples of street art. What separated this tour was Alice’s knowledge of the artists and the background given for each of our stops. We only did the tour and not the workshop due to time constraints, but I’m sure it would have been equally fun. Easy check-in/location at Old Spitalfields Market under the white goat statue.
Great knowledge and excellent tour. Our guide did a fantastic job and knew the area and the subject well.
Had a fantastic day up in London on the Street Art tour and workshop with my family (2 adults and 2 kids 11 and 13). Gary was a brilliant guide and had so much knowledge which was really interesting. We also took part in the workshop which was a great end to the tour. We all loved it and would recommend it for sure. Something a bit different which we will remember as a great day out.
Gary walked us through Shoreditch history, graffiti and street art scene. His stories are authentic, full of interesting details and sparked ideas and conversations. The tour is super engaging and we could have spent the whole afternoon going from place to place and learning more about street and graffiti artists. The workshop that followed enabled us to learn, understand and apply some of the techniques, it was super hands on and fun! Highly recommended when you visit London.
Fab tour and we were allowed to bring our dog! Highly recommend! Both my children really enjoyed the street art. Unfortunately they were too young (aged 7 and 9) to do the workshop so we left after the tour.
Monsoon like rain didn’t dampen our spirits and as the bike tour had to be cancelled because of the rain we took a walking tour and workshop. Led by Gary the tour was fascinating and inspiring giving us a real insight into the street artist world . The workshop gave us a chance to show our ‘limited ‘ skills !!and also really appreciate the amazing skill levels of the artists. Highly recommended on any trip to London
Incredible experience. I attended the walking tour and workshop today and it was worth every penny and more. I would highly recommend it. I plan on doing more tours with Alternative LDN when I return to London in the future, Thank you for an unforgettable experience.
The highlight of our recent trip to London, we all loved the tour. Gary was really knowledgeable about the area and it’s rich history as well as the street art we were discovering. The workshop afterwards was really fun, we had with us two kids aged 13 and 11; we all really enjoyed ourselves. No hesitation in recommending Alternative London.
It’s been very interesting. I really enjoyed it. Our guide had great knowledge of the local history and made the tour very cool. Highly recommended.
Brilliant, inspiring tour of art we would never have found. We were told the story behind the artists and how they progress from graffiti to murals .Josh was an excellent guide and we all highly recommend the tour.
Yesterday my husband and I did the street art tour and workshop. I purchased it as a gift for my husband. Emilie was our tour guide and we thought she was great, very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the tour and having some hands on experience in the workshop. We were really pleased with the artwork we created to take home. Would definitely recommend.
Our group of one adult and four teenagers all equally enjoyed our Street Art Walking Tour with Kea. He is incredibly knowledgeable and personable, pointing out subtle pieces of street art everywhere we turned along with history of the artists. I had no idea of the culture behind the art. The tour flew by and we were blessed with great weather which made it even more enjoyable. I'll never look at a piece of gum crushed on a sidewalk the same! Highly recommend!
I had such a great time with Emily (fantastic guide!), the content of the tour is perfect - super informative and yet accessible for street art newbies - and the workshop is so much fun. It would be missing out not to do the workshop after the tour, you can play around with some of the techniques you've seen in the street and feel like the real deal (even though you're not at all...). Thanks for everything Emily.
Top Guide (Josh), Top Tour, Top Street Art/Graffiti,Top Workshop! Unfortunately we had to cut the workshop short, could have stayed all afternoon.✌🤪
My spouse and I were in London last week and went on the 2 hour street art walking tour. Before this tour began we knew nothing about street art but the tour was wonderful, we learned so much about street art and really enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide was friendly and very knowledgeable about street art in general as well as the pieces of street art that we toured. There were a couple times we arrived at a location to observe a piece of art but it had been covered up or altered since the last tour so I guide had to improve or move on to another piece of art but she was very comfortable doing this and the tour did not suffer at all. This was a great tour and I would recommend it to anyone, even if you have no previous knowledge of street art.
We loved the street art walking tour with Josh. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of street art and the many artists whose work we saw. Josh is so enthusiastic and interesting and made this accessible to all levels. Excellent all around.
It was very interesting to see all theses works around the district. Dee, our guide, shows us the ones that we would have missed otherwise
Josh was an amazing tour guide. He was passionate and knowledgeable and made the tour accessible and interesting for everyone. It was 2 hours that was very well spent. Highly recommended!
This fascinating street Art tour guided by Emily was one of the big highlights of our trip! We added on the workshop last minute and were so glad we did. Learning about the street art styles and being able to do some of them ourselves really put the whole tour together for us. We also loved exploring Shoreditch and learning about its history. Would highly recommend this to anyone, including families with young and older children alike.
Emilie made a interesting tour. She gave us a first opportunity to discover London's street art. We were very impressed by its variety and quality. Our son especially enjoyed the graffiti workshop in the back yard.
We together with our friends from the US took the street art walking tour on a cold blustery March afternoon. Kier was such an inspiring guide that the cold did not bother us (much). Kier's knowledge not only of the street art but also of the history of the East End was impressive. It has certainly changed my previously biased view of street art. I have since recommended the tour to several friends and family!
I would thoroughly recommend this tour. We had a very knowledgable guide who took us to see lots of different types of street art, and was really informative on the origins of the culture, and the major protagonists involved. Definitely something different if you're touring London.
we took the street art walking tour with Emilie this past Thursday. Her tour was an absolute highlight to our trip in London— and will likely be a top experience we have had in all of our travels. The passion, wit and experience she offered us on the tour was top notch and we just wanted that recognized. Thank you Alternative Ldn for adding an authentic and unique experience.
We have just finished up our tour and had a really great time. Josh is a real stand out, his knowledge and passion for the trade made the tour really enjoyable. He has opened our eyes to the level of street art!
We really enjoyed the Street Art walking tour. Josh's knowledge was incredible and the passion he has for street art really shone through. The workshop that followed was great fun and brought out the rebels in us. Would recommend this to anyone (and I have already done so). Doing the tour before the workshop is a must.
I expected to find the East End walk interesting but had no idea how much I would enjoy it - the sun shone, so admittedly that was a bonus. We saw so much art at every turn- Josh knew exactly where to take us. He took us to places that I may not have ventured alone, and knew where new art had appeared the day before our trip. I cannot imagine that the two teens who came with me could have enjoyed any other 2 hour plus walk as much. The workshop was great fun, even for those ( like me) with no art experience. Everyone created really original designs. I would love to go back for more.
This tour was a highlight of our visit to London. My wife and I were street art newbies before the tour, but we now look at street art through a whole new lens. Our guide (Josh Jeavons) is an accomplished street artist, and he gave us an insider’s perspective on the works we viewed during our tour. He showed us works and details we would have missed on our own, and he explained the culture and motivations of the street art community. It was a really fun and inspiring afternoon. Highly recommended.
Emily was a brilliant guide to the East London graffiti scene, very knowledgeable, fun and really knew her stuff. It was a high quality walk and the workshop at the end far exceeded my expectations, bring out your inner Banks. An ideal present for a partner and a great activity to do with a loved one. 10 out of 10 and fabulous value. You get a real opportunity to play with some cans of spray and create...so cool.
Loved our walking tour of the east end of London pointing out lots of street art and the culture behind it. First rate knowledgeable guide too. Finally got to work with spray paint and created my own bits of art. Could have spent longer on the painting but overall thought if was really great!
My eleven year old grandson and I both enjoyed this tour. It showed us artefacts we would never have noticed in places such as on top of poles in the street or such bizarre objects as coloured broccoli attached to a wall. There were also spectacular wall paintings and the excitement of seeing a Banksy. I am familiar with the area but it was one more experience that shows that London never ceases to intrigue and surprise.
Went for a walking tour and street art course. We had a great informative guide and got to see and learn about a lot of great street art. Especially our son liked the following course.
More than expected. Our guide, Emily, was absolutely lovely and truly knowledgeable about street art.
This was an awesome day trip. The walking tour is interesting and features lots of different styles. In truth we have no knowledge of street art so although interesting this was not the best bit for us. The workshop is great fun first you make a stencil then try freehand tagging then try your stencil out. The people are informative and help you out although do go with a few ideas as otherwise you sit there pretty blank for a long time. If you fancy this type of trip I would not recommend just doing the walking tour as the workshop is by far the better half. Together they make a fun 4 hour trip. Also they do give you a break in the middle to get a coffee/lunch.
Shoreditch is an amazing location for street art but this tour brought the area alive and we saw so much that we wouldn't have done without Emilie's expert knowledge. We then had a workshop at the end and learned how to use a spray can to produce our own work of art! I can't recommend this highly enough for anyone who likes any form of street art.
