Wow!! Where we can even BEGIN to describe the experience of a very special Sherlock Holmes Walking tour (In Stephen's own words)!! We have been fans of Sherlock Holmes fiction for more than half a century now; and it was a lifetime's dream that came true with Stephen and his Company Ye Olde England Tours. Stephen arranged a one of a kind Holmes tour focused on the classic Granada TV series and the books!! And for 3+ hours we were transported to the world of Sherlock Holmes as of it were early to mid 1900's. We could write an entire journal on those 3 hours..... Stephen deserves a medal!! He is an absolute FOUNTAIN of historical knowledge and inspite of that - extremely humble, kind and generous!! No detail was too small; no building/location went unspoken about.... We were also taken around locations associated with other great classical writers like HG Wells, Rudyard Kipling and George Orwell! 5 stars is not enough!!. Whichever tour is organized or led by Stephen is guaranteed to be of the highest quality and value for money. Imagine - we even had the GREATEST luck to have a photograph with a real detective at the original Scotland Yard!! By the end of the tour we wouldn't have been surprised to have been introduced to Lestrade!! Highest possible recommendation for Stephen and his company.

See sights used in the filming of BBC Sherlock
See the beautiful old Victorian Pub dedicated to Sherlock Holmes.
Stand on the spot of where much of the BBC publicity shots are done. See where Sherlock finds a washed up body on the banks of the Thames and the real-life history of this spot. For fans of Irene Adler, a scene was shot near by too.
Not only were parts of a pivotal Sherlock episode filmed here but we will learn about the real life Old Bailey and the nearby sights relating to executions and other gory things!
As we go on the tour, we will pass by several famous sights such as St Pauls Cathedral and learn a little of its history. Of course the front steps were featured in a recent Sherlock movie.
Enroute to our next spot we will see this famous place where Braveheart was executed along with others who weren't burned at the stake!
This was a location in a recent Sherlock movie. From the outside, we will visit this ancient spot that survived the Great Fire of London, see a Plague Pit.
See the spot where Sherlock fell from the roof and where Watson ran into the cyclist. Some fans like to lay on the spot and have a photo taken!
This beautiful square is where we first meet Dr Watson in Sherlock. There are good reasons why they chose this location which you'll learn soon.
Visit the street with the longest history of Sherlock Holmes on the big screen. It was here that the very first 221B Baker Street was filmed almost 100 years ago and it has been used in recent movies too!
See the place where Sherlock had his rainy night rendevous with the mysterious woman in the final season of Sherlock.
Visit the iconic location from Sherlock. Maybe pop inside and grab a drink and see some of the photos on the wall of where Benedict and Martin sit and eat. Next door of course is the door where they fi;m 221B in Sherlock and we'll tell you how and why they do it here.
Visit the only statue to Sherlock Homes in London and find out why Baker Street has its strong connections with Sherlock Holmes
We finish the tour outside of the actual 221B Baker Street. Here you have the chance to buy some Sherlock souvenirs or visit inside the Sherlock House Museum which is exactly as Sherlocks house would have been in Victorian days. Watch out for Professor Moriarty and that big bad Hound of the Baskervilles!
This where we find the home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. We will explore the streets of literary Bloomsbury and see the spot where Sherlock lived before he moved to Baker Street.

Stephen was great! All sorts of interesting information and very enjoyable three hours - even in the rain!
Kevin Pearman was our fabulous guide for the Sherlock Holmes Private walking tour, which as an additional bonus, has a vast knowledge of history that made the tour exceptional. This tour has to be experienced in person as words cannot describe the many sites we saw and all of the inside tidbits with fun anecdotes accompanying. Kevin exceeded our expectations and we would not hesitate to book another tour with this company. Booking was very simple and the company was very quick to respond to questions. I highly recommend and Kevin Pearman was absolutely fantastic.
Stephen was great. I was surprised that he took us to so many places that had nothing really to do with Sherlock. And he had lots of great info about everywhere we went. My favorite was when we saw where they filmed the scene in Sherlock where cumberbatch fell off the roof.
Our first activity on our very first visit to London - we traveled as a family and everyone loved this tour. So much info on the Sherlock Holmes saga - both past and more recent. Our guide, Kevin, was absolutely the best. He was kind, helpful, supremely knowledgeable! He pointed out so much that was nearby our walking path and helped us become familiar with the tube. Based upon information he shared, we went back to several places over the span of our visit. Kevin obviously loves what he does and it was clear that his top priority was to make our experience a great one!
Simon was like a walking Goggle of London history, a veritable encyclopedic knowledge of all things Sherlock and all things London. Walking through London with Simon allowed us to discover many unexpected gems of the rich history London hides in every nook and that probably other typical tours might miss. We had an absolutely fantastic time and when we come back to London we will be looking for Simon again for his other walking tours!!!
My husband and I did the Sherlock Holmes walking tour with Kevin three weeks ago. Well, it was supposed to be the Sherlock Holmes walking tour but it was WAY MORE than that! The things we learnt about London were amazing and so many gems hiding in plain sight! Our guide was SO knowledgeable and interesting, we could have walked all day listening to his stories! If you only have one time to do one tour in London, this has to be it!!
It’s hard to say which part of this tour was the most exciting. Kevin, our tour guide made every part of the trip so interesting and our grandchild flipped over following Sherlock’s story. Wished we could have spent more time with kevin .
Stephen kindly adapted his tour to our requests - my husband for Sherlock Holmes, for myself for some of the older buildings and communities that merged over the years to form London. Stephen's depth of knowledge was apparent, but he adapted his tour to our level! He also shared lots of fun facts to keep us smiling. I would thoroughly recommend one of these tours, especially to people like us who used to commute into London for work, but who never took the time to really look at and think about all the history around us.
Really like visiting all the places in conjucture with Sherlock holmes. Our guide was really good. Nice thing to do as a family
I absolutely loved this walking tour! Not only did I visit the show's filming locations (which was such a thrill!) , but I also learned so much about London's history. There's nothing like a walking tour to familiarize yourself with a destination. This is my 3rd time to London but through this tour, I definitely discovered more things compared to my past visits when I toured on my own. My guide Kevin was very knowledgeable, and was also the nicest and most patient guide I've ever met! I absolutely recommend this private tour to any Sherlock Holmes fan, and to anyone wanting to learn more about London! Another plus: the owner is very quick to respond if you ever have any questions or concerns.
A very interesting walking tour, specially for Sherlock's fans and for all who loves walking through London. Special thanks to Kevin, a very friendly guide.
We toured many interesting sites that were used in the BBC productions with guide Dewi Evans. Dewi has a very deep knowledge of interesting details regarding the local historical sites and many aspects of the various Sherlock Holmes productions and books. I would highly recommend this tour and our guide to anyone interested in Sherlock Holmes.
Ryan was our tour guide. We love Sherlock and especially the BBC version with Benedict Cumberbatch. He is also a tour guide at the Sherlock Holmes museum. He knew a ton. Then when we went to 221 B Baker, he knew everyone so we were given lovely and special treatment. We did the store, but not the museum on the tour. In addition to all of the sites from the show and also historic Sherlock sites, Ryan knew a ton about London. He is patient and polite. Highly recommended if you are a Sherlock fan.
Our tour guide, Dewi, was very informative and fun. The Sherlock fans in our group loved all the locations and details of each given. For the not so much Sherlock fans, he was great about pointing out other sites, giving information and answering all of our questions. The tour took us all over London via walking (LOTS of it!), the bus and tube.We loved it!
This was an absolutely wonderful tour. Our tour guide, Stephen, was passionate and kind throughout - always keeping us interested along the way and happy to provide additional facts where they popped up. He knew the material extremely well and seem to have lots of knowledge and it was fun to ask him plenty of questions. He was flexible and able to help us arrange things so that they worked specifically to our needs and timetable. Recommended!
Stephen is a really lovely guy with incredible knowledge about London and its hidden places.I highly recommend this tour!
Kevin took my 14 year old daughter and I on a fabulous tour to see filming locations from the TV series. A trip to Speedy's was the highlight - especially the chance to meet the owner and have a quick lunch. We also visited some other locations related to the books, films and Conan Doyle, ending up at the museum in Baker Street. Along the way we visited some quirky and off the beaten track spots of London and learnt some fascinating facts. Kevin was a lovely, friendly and engaging guide, who was happy to let us go at our own pace, stop for a cup of tea etc. Highly recommended.
<p>I would definitely recommend this tour! My younger siblings who are Sherlock Holmes fans both the book and the BBC series will definitely enjoy this tour! Be prepared to walk for 4 hours but it is all worth it.</p>
<p>Our tour guide, Stephen was nice and had interesting stories to tell us. It was great to see so many areas of London that we wouldn't have seen on our own.</p>
If you are familiar with the BBC series (and even the recent movie versions or Basil Rathbone versions) there are some great landmarks scattered around London. The highlight was getting a quick meal at Speedy's restaurant, as well as the spot near St. Bart's Hospital where Sherlock plunged to the sidewalk. There is a bit of walking (4.5 miles!) and train riding. Our guide, Kevin, filled the walks with London trivia and sites that we would have missed. (Kevin was especially knowledgeable about London history, so it seems like every few blocks there was another interesting (non-Sherlock) bit of London history. Kevin was also great about filling us in on local customs and traditions.)The weather was perfect for walking. The tour ends at the Museum and there is an additional cost (and very long line) to enter. Would recommend brushing up on watching some of the recent BBC episodes. This tour would be difficult if you are not used to walking a few miles. This tour also spends a great deal of time outdoors, so dress accordingly!
<p>This turned out to be our favorite tour in London. Because it is private, you control the pace and direction of the tour. Several times we pointed at something and asked, What's that? and our guide, Nigel, either took us to it or explained what it was. The recent BBC Sherlock has the most locations that are featured in the tour. In particular, I wanted to visit Speedy's Restaurant and this was on the tour. This is a walking tour which uses The Tube subway for several hops. We had already purchased an Oyster Card for The Tube and that helped jumpstart our day hint. Overall we give this tour an A.</p>
<p>Our guide was a self-described Sherlock Holmes nerd, and both his knowledge and enthusiasm were infectious. Our 16-yr old granddaughter was with us she's kind of a BBC SH nerd herself, and she was blown away by the level of detail shown. </p> <p>Jim and Betty Higgins<br/> Louisville KY USA</p>
<p>Wonderful personalized tour with fun, friendly and very knowledgeable guide</p>
