We had a private tour for Wheathampstead u3a. It was a great success and we'd like ot thank everyone that made it so enjoyable. The close up magic was quite unbelievable.

Seriously impressed. I booked for my son (12yo), who is fairly recently developing a keen interest in close up magic, along with a few of his friends. I knew he’d probably enjoy it but didn’t expect to love it so much myself (as did the other adults in our group). It’s a brilliant evening of learning, entertainment, awe-inspiring tricks and - frankly - a unique opportunity to meet and have informal chat with some of the most remarkably talented people. What a special experience that creates; one that I’m still buzzing from theee days later 🤩
Amazing experience at the Magic Circle ... the history, theatre, show room and museum and all the fascinating original exhibits from 1500s to present day. Also the stories of the magicians we know and love from Houdini, through Paul Daniels and Tommy Cooper, to Sooty!!! Well worth a visit to also discover the royal connection!!
What a gem ! Had a brilliant afternoon/evening at the Secrets of the magic circle with our son, and must say, it was a highlight of our year. The whole experience is really relaxed and intimate, and the magic being performed is mind-blowing. You get really up close with the magicians, and leave with no clue how any of it is done. The experience starts in the bar area (where you can, of course, buy some drinks & snacks), and two or three magicians are going round the tables doing tricks. You can check out the magicians museum in the lower-ground floor with artifacts from many famous magicians. You get three shows, effectively within a 3.5 hour visit (acts will vary - ours were outstanding), the last of which is in the theatre. Great show, great talent, great value [accessibility also very good] Treat yourself - you won't regret it
A mesmerisingly brilliant visit to the most magical organisation in Britain, tucked away in an anonymous sidestreet behind Euston Station. A wonderful museum of artifacts featuring everyone from Houdini to David Nixon to Tommy Cooper to Penn and Teller as well as props from films involving magic (Harry Potter included, of course!) This was followed by no less than three shows: one of close-up magic, one by the hilariously eccentric curator and then one up on the stage upstairs with the breathtaking Tech Magician and his two robots. All in all, and unforgettable day out.
Such a fun tour - met with a warm welcome by Alex and then with Ian leading us - very welcoming too and knowledgeable - and Alex adding his magic at the end was a fantastic finale - both were talented and we enjoyed the stories - such a great collection of items - definitely will recommend - thank you for a great event :)
What an amazing tour! Ian our guide was very funny and informative. The magic carried out by Liam was exceptional and Liv was polite and funny and supported with the tech and making sure we got to where we needed. Some very cool stuff to see a must visit! Thanks for a great tour guys x
A fantastic tour with a brilliant guide taking us through the history of The Magic Circle. Some wonderful original exhibits.... and a Love Show. A magical experience thank you
We had a brilliant time visiting The Magic Circle. Ian, our tour guide, was fun, engaging and incredibly knowledgeable, bringing the history of the organisation and its many fascinating exhibits to life. The magic show performed for us at the end was a wonderful way to round off the experience. It was entertaining, skilfully performed and enjoyed by everyone in our group. A memorable and genuinely magical visit that I would highly recommend. Thanks from the ProdPad team!
The Secrets of the Magic Circle was a hoot! From start to finish. We were left speechless by the magic acts. All staff were engaging and helpful. We would recommend this experience.
We saw two world class magic performances in an intimate setting. The magicians involved the audience, paying particular attention to the children. It truly was a mind boggling experience and something we'll still be talking about when we get home. This is a great break from sightseeing and probably the one experience children 8 and over will remember. The venue is the private clubhouse of the Magic Circle, a organization that has existed for 120 years. We were given a warm welcome, visited their museum and treated to a very entertaining " pre show". Highly recommend!
I booked a tour for birthday treat for my mum. I was interested in what the tour of the actual magic circle club would be like , I was delighted what we experienced. We were greated at the door by the delightful host Ian who couldn't have been more welcoming for all the guests along as were the other members of the Magic staff and members who helped deliver this tour. We were put at ease with humour and professionalism as we toured all of the club , from the standing on the stage at top of the building to the club rooms with all it's fascinating magical items linked to famous magical persons to the historical items in museum. We were treated to some world class close up magic tricks at the end which was a fabulous treat. The passion for magic that Ian and all the people there had was plain to see and added huge value to a great tour. There are close magic shows on Friday nights at the Magic club which sadly I wasn't aware before this tour but will absolutely going to . Book it and be amazed
Fun afternoon with very different styles of magic! Something for everyone 👍🏼 very pleased we came early so we saw museum. Mildred was the star according to my son!
My 9 year old and I went to the Secrets Of the Magic Circle the first night we’re in London. It was exceptionally fun with well thought out performances and one on one demonstrations. For kids and adult who enjoy magic and being entertained this is definitely a must see. There were also drinks and snacks on site for very reasonable prices. I had so much fun and can’t wait to come back one day!
We originally booked tickets for our son and partner. They enjoyed it so much they booked us tickets - You really must go! We had four incredible magicians. You WILL NOT work out how they do their tricks. It is very close and you will watch them from a short distance. The audience provide volunteers. The acts were all really engaging, very funny and encourage questions. During the interval you also get a tour of the museum with numbers of original props and great memorabilia. Fabulous night.
This was so much fun! And very interesting!
Be ready to be bedazzled. It's a fabulous and magical evening. The whol.exoeriemce from the greeting at the door, the show, the magicians and interval event was amazing. We all need a bit of magic in fire times. Definitely recommend.
Absolutely amazing! I went here with my family last weekend and it was so enjoyable. The magicians and host were hilarious!! The tour of the building was really interesting, I loved the Devant room. I would 100% recommend going to see the up close magic show!
Had a fabulous night at the Magic Circle on Friday evening. Arriving at the deceptively nondescript headquarters, ww were greeted at the door by the charming Stuart, an absolute gent who gave us a very erudite and entertaining tour of the Secret Museum and exhibits before the show and during the interval. The bar prices were very reasonable for central London, and the bar staff were lovely and friendly, and the various magical exhibits and posters around the bar and the upstairs room were intriguing. We already knew the evening was going to be fun, and the show hadn't yet begun! We were treated to four incredibly talented close-up magicians, two before the interval and two after. Our host for the evening was the very warm and welcoming Barry, who pitched his intro and his patter completely right for a mixed audience. He had a twinkle in his eye for the grown-ups, but was particularly good with the three or four children who were all aspiring magicians and who were enthralled throughout. In fact, the audience interaction by all the performers was a real highlight of the whole evening, and being so close-up was an absolute thrill. We started with the hilarious Magic Paul Longhurst, whose charisma and energy kicked off the show brilliantly. His goofy magic game show version of Mr and Mrs (complete with musical sound effects and ludicrous puns!) got everyone giggling, but we were all still left breathless by his sleight of hand and skill - completely fascinating. We then moved on to Gentleman Liam, who was just as engaging and baffling, with soft sponge balls appearing, disappearing and multiplying willy-nilly! As with all the magicians we saw, Liam's audience engagement was warm and charming - thoroughly deserving of his Gentleman stage-name. After the interval and the aforementioned fabulous tour of the magic Museum, perfectly pitched for young and old by Stuart, we returned to be treated to the lovely Bron. It was a treat to see a lady magician, as magic has traditionally been a very male-dominated profession, and Bron matched the boys skill for skill. Her stage persona radiated calm and gentleness, beautifully backed up with her mantra of using magic to spread wonder and kindness. She has perfected what she called the magic of little things, working brilliantly with coloured elastic bands, silver coins and gauzes to showcase the dexterity and skill that won her Family Entertainer of the Year. We were all charmed, magically amd emotionally. Lastly we had Jimmy the Wizard, who also leads magic walking tours, which is a brilliant concept. Jimmy treated us to a variety of card tricks and number magic, charmingly incorporating references to Thing 1 and Thing 2, his eight year-old twins, into his maths tricks. He was charmingly self-deprecating when one of his card tricks seemed to go slightly awry.......and then somehow magically came out right in the end, but - whether the hiccup was real or planned - there was no question of his skill. When he produced from inside a sealed envelope inside his zipped wallet the playing card we had JUST seen an audience member sign, jaws were on the floor throughout the audience! More than two hours of amazing close-up magic, four magicians with very different styles but all at the top of their game, the bonus tours of the exhibits and the museum AND toilets that have a magic flush (though there does need to be a 'Ta-da!' sound effect afterwards!) - what a fabulous evening and one I would thoroughly recommend.
It was an amazing experience. I went with my 7 year old son and he thoroughly enjoyed it.
We all liked it very much! Strongly recommend!
Fantastic, really fun show, and great all round entertainment!
My 12 year old grandson loves magic. Found Secrets of the Magic Circle and thought he would enjoy it while we are visiting London. And I was right not only did he enjoy it but I did as well. There was a variety of magic performed and it was excellent. Never figured out how it was done and they were not telling us at all! If you have anyone interested in magic I would highly recommend attending the show. Had some pictures but they seemed to have disappeared!!
Our Women's Institute organised the trip. There were 26 of us. They smoothly divided us into two groups of 13. We were treated to demonstrations of close up magic (slight of hand) and a wonderful tour of their magic objects museum. All three Magic Circle members who performed or led tours were brilliant. Would highly recommend you check the various events and activities on their website.
We visited the museum as a party of four and, to be honest, two of my friends had to be dragged there as they are not magic fans. But within minutes we were all captivated by the place! Our visit was brought to life by our fabulous guides, Ian and Matt. Ian interacted with our group seamlessly, picking up on our questions and imparting just the right amount of information to hold everyone's interest. The museum itself is just amazing, packed with props (old and new); every space is crammed with fascinating memorabilia. Then, joy of joys, just when we thought the two hour tour was over, we were treated to our very own magic show! An absolutely wonderful way to spend our Sunday. I'd recommend this place to everyone, even if you're not a fan of prestidigitation, there will be lots to interest you 👍
We had a brilliant time at The Magic Circle. Great fun and we'd recommend it to anyone, young or old. Ian (Rowland) was a great guide and Fay (Presto) a wizard of a magician. Thank you
This was a hugely entertaining and highly enjoyable outing. We were looked after by Ian from start to finish. We arrived early as we wanted to make sure we had front seats. Ian, the super kind and accomodating host, immediately put our minds at ease and promised to take care of us - and that he did, without fail ! The afternoon show was completely enthralling and kept us on our toes / on the dge of our seats from start to finish. We had treated our friends (and ourselves!) on this outing and they told us afterwards that it had been the best afternoon so far in their lives - In order to understand how big a compliment this is, you need to know that they are in their sixties and have done lots of fun things already in their lives ! So, basically, go and see this show - You won't be disappointed !
This was absolutely brilliant and this is from someone who did not really think that magic was of any great interest. I booked the Saturday one o'clock show because I thought it might be interesting for my grandchildren; they loved it as did I and my husband. I loved the way the afternoon was divided into different sections kept the interest alive for the children (not that they ever seemed to lose interest). They were all (grandchildren - and husband) involved a lot in the different 'tricks' which from the point of view of the grandchildren (maybe not the husband so much!) added to their enjoyment. The close up magic was amazing, loved the little museum, especially as 'The Curator' was so helpful and informative. The techno magic show at the end was certainly something different and I had not previously considered magic integrated with technology. However, have to admit that my favourite section was 'The Curator' show. He created an incredible and amusing (well hilarious at times actually) character - he was a very talented entertainer. All the staff in fact were absolutely lovely: kind and caring. Although I would probably have imagined the Magic Circle as rather, perhaps, an elite group - this was not how it felt. We felt that we were made very welcome and indeed were made to feel a part of this 'family' for the duration of our visit.
We had an amazing experience of magic close up on the 26th June. We had the opportunity to see and meet 4 very talented magicians The audience was captivated with each performance and left speechless We have recommended this show to everyone we speak too A spectacular experience 10/10
We received a warm welcome at the door by smiling, friendly staff all decked out in special attire. It put us all in that "magic mood" right away. He showed us in and we were instantly taken in by the decor and ambiance, especially after flying in from California. This was a special occasion for sure. We had a wonderful evening with friendly staff and several award winning magicians. My son studies card mechanics as a hobby and really loves Close-up card magic and sleight of hand shows so this was a really big hit. There were several fascinating magicians and a history overview as well as a tour that really took our breath away. We loved every minute of our visit and encourage more families to get tickets to their shows and events. We have attended the Magic Castle in Los Angeles and agree this is quite similar in talent and yet quite different in many ways. It holds it's own high reputation. We were pleasantly impressed. When in London, we'll definitely go again. Thanks for the referral Mr. Turner. ;)
If you haven’t been to The Magic Circle yet then you really need to go Friday night you get to see four fantastic magicians up close and personal and last nights performances included the brilliant Wayne Fox just amazing and great fun On top of that you are flooded with the history of the Devant Room and all the exhibits in there followed by a tour of the museum with all the stories behind the amazing exhibits in there! It’s such a fantastic night, and I will be going back
An absolutely fascinating experience. Will definitely go to one of the regular shows and will also try for the Christmas special.
I went to see Secrets of the Magic Circle last night, featuring the new show from David Penn, the tech magician, and it was honestly fantastic from start to finish. The whole experience is a brilliant opportunity to explore the Magic Circle itself, watch some incredible magic, and see it all up close and live. Being treated to world‑class magic from the legendary Michael Vincent in such an intimate setting was something really special. This was followed by some fascinating and very entertaining history from Marcus Morgan, which added a lot of depth and context to the evening. Then it was time for the headline show of the night: David Penn’s Magical Robot show. David bills himself as the “tech magician” and that’s exactly what you get – a clever, seamless blend of technology and magic. The show feels modern and original, with some genuine “wow” moments that had the whole audience reacting. It’s the kind of show that appeals to all ages – magic fans, tech geeks, families – everyone. I won’t give any spoilers, but I highly recommend you go and see this show, and experience the whole Secrets of the Magic Circle visit. With two shows a day, it’s a fantastic day or evening out and works really well for families with different ages or anyone travelling into central London to visit the HQ of magic - the home of 10’000 secrets. Highly recommended – 5 stars.
Thursday was cabaret night at The Magic Circle. Six magicians and one very funny compere . Each act having their own take on some classic illusions. The building is incredible. A lovely theatre. Very comfortable seats, The stage is just high enough so everybody can get a good view. It was such a perfect night. I could have easily spent longer in the place just looking around and asking question. I will be back very soon.
Fantastic trip well worth the money. The two hosts were very good Ian (member of the inner magic circle) made everyone feel at home and was very funny and knowledgeable. We started off in the club house where we met all the other people on the tour. He told us about the exhibits and some of the posters which were very interesting. Also had an introduction to the building and how it was designed from scratch. From there we went up the helix staircase to the theatre and stood on the stage and wondered round. Had an introduction to the lighting etc. Really well-equipped small venue. Then on to the boardroom which had more exhibits, Houdini, Paul Daniels, Tommy Cooper. Brilliant especially the statue of one of the founders and how it featured in a magic trick Downstairs to the museum, star exhibit for me was the original Marauders Map they made for harry potter that opened automatically and wasn't CGI based. Finished off with 15 minutes of magic in the clubroom. Close up tricks that I have no idea how they did, totally brilliant. Absolutely worth the money
This is such a brilliant experience. I loved every second of it. I loved how the day flowed. It was great to experience the museum, as well as seeing the close‑up magic and the parlour show, and then ending with the fantastic stage show.
Fascinating and mind-altering. All the performances were splendid and masterfully curated, from the table tricks to the museum, and the shows of Michael Vincent, David Penn and the charismatic Goldie Puricelli, who excelled in representing the female contigent alone with her astonishing divination and slight of hand wearing a totally sleevless dress. Thank you so much to the Magic Circle's Lee Hathaway for organising this for me. Bluebell
We visited the Magic Circle for their ‘close up’ magic event on a Friday evening as part of my daughter’s birthday present. Exceptional, epic and truly mind-blowing doesn’t even begin to describe what was a truly fantastic evening of magic. The evening consisted of four magicians, each with their own acts and tricks. The card tricks were incredibly clever and it was genuinely impossible to see how the magicians managed to do it. Our host Bron (an Associate Member of The Inner Magic Circle herself) was really knowledgeable and very welcoming and happy to answer any of our questions. We really enjoyed her mini tour of the museum during the interval! Being a ‘close-up’ magic event meant that it was a small audience and the magicians engaged with many of the audience members and invited them to take part in some of the tricks (only if they were happy to take part). Lots of great laughs combined with fantastic magic made for a brilliant birthday celebration and they certainly made it special for my daughter. The magician’s we saw were Luke Robson, Bryan Porter, John Duffett and Wayne Fox and my whole family enjoyed every moment! I wouldn’t hesitate to go again; what a magnificent evening!
This was a splendid experience; a chance to get behind the scenes at the Magic Circle. Our guide was Alex, who did a great job of taking us round and explaining the history and some of the personalities. The highlight for me was the chance to look round the museum, which contains some remarkable memorabilia and possessions of well-known magicians. All in all, a great tour
The magical experience at The Magic Circle was phenomenal. We've been before and it was a no-brained to come back for this exciting spectacular show. This time round was even more legendary magicians, wonderful showmanship and entertainment and the magic/ illusions were top class and so much more impressive and mind blowing than last time. Being on the front row was 100 percent worth the ticket value. We had such close up magic. We also had first hand involvement with the magicians letting us be part of the magic. Utterly impressive work seeing it so close up. We will be absolutely coming back again for a third time.
I wanted something novel and classy to entertain guests for my 40th birthday party, and The Magic Circle did not disappoint — in fact, it completely blew our minds. Our host, Bron, welcomed us into the venue before taking us upstairs to the Devant Room. Two rows of seats were laid out for us and a handful of other visitors, giving everyone an excellent up-close view of what was supposedly up each magician’s sleeve… and we still have absolutely no idea how any of it was done. Many guests took part as volunteers, and during the interval some also explored the museum, returning with stories of their own before the main event resumed. The magicians clearly love their art form and even stayed behind afterwards to share a few extra moments of magic as we were leaving. Such a wonderful team of people. We’ll definitely be back ✨🪄
Great experienec really enjoyed it.
Spent a most enjoyable afternoon at the Magic Circle. A tour of the building with a good chance to look at the museum. Four fabulous acts were seen two of which were close up and extremely clever. At the end was a stage show with two very clever performers. If you are in London put this on your "bucket" list
BeautiA top-class place and amazing magicians. Special thanks to Sam Fletcher, Alex and Nikolas. You are a true encyclopedia, as well as an inspiration and motivation.
A friend and I were looking to do something different, and we certainly found it. We booked a tour at The Magic Circle, where we were greeted by Derick and Alex. It was a very interesting walk, learning about magicians, their stories, and their legacy. At the end, we were surprised with a performance by Alex the magician. It was a fantastic end to an hour of delightful tales. Thank you!
Fantastic night out - some incredible, jaw dropping sleight of hand. Bron the MC was amazing. Sheer talent. Would highly recommend.
Fantastic experience. Attended with an 11 year old who enjoyed it too. The experience includes three performances set in three different rooms of the Magic Circle HQ including the basement museum. Finally we climbed the impressive spiral staircase to watch a magic show on stage at the HQ theatre. Each show lasted around 30mins. Interest was held at all times. I have lived in London for 26 years. First visit to the Magic Circle. I would definitely recommend. The magicians were First Class. A special mention to magician John Duffett who was incredible. Mind blown.
The place is historical and worth visiting, but the team fell short of our basic expectations, they treat you inferior and judgmental. The final point was when one of the staff told us that first rows at the theatre should be left to children and since one of our children was too small to stay alone we all had to leave to the last row where none of our kids had good visibility. At the same time many adults were sitting even at first row seats without children. Not sure why we were targeted with this rude, very disappointing and selective attitude. After we decided to leave, staff tried to convince to get closer to the stage as at some closer rows there were left some single or double seats available, but we were a family of 5 and didn’t want to leave kids sitting alone as some of the acts might feel scary to some extent. We decided to leave the show and highly advise you to consider if you want such kind of treatment by going there.
We had an absolutely excellent experience at The Magic Circle in London! We took part in the Close-Up at The Magic Circle, The Magic Circle Tour, and the Secrets of The Magic Circle experience — and every part of it was fantastic. It’s something I would genuinely recommend for all ages. The atmosphere was welcoming, the magic was incredible, and there was a real sense of history and passion throughout. A special mention to our hosts on Saturday — Alex, Derek, and Matt — who were brilliant. They were friendly, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable, which really made the experience even more memorable. A truly magical day that we won’t forget!
Very good tour led by Alex and at the end Derek Oliver demonstrated some close up magic that even my Brother in law (who was an amateur magician) couldn't figure out how it was done.
