I went with my daughter, fully expecting to feel ripped off by the price of the tickets. I was proven wrong - we spent almost 3 hours looking around, and there were so many moments of wonder for both my daughter and for me. Well worth it.

The mysterious Sea Life London Aquarium experience is spread over three floors and starts by taking a submarine-style elevator to the depths of the Atlantic Ocean. Next, take a walk through the stunning glass tunnel underneath a tropical ocean. There is plenty of interaction along the way, from diving displays to optional touch pools and discovery zones. Other species you can see include green turtles, seahorses, octopus, zebra sharks and the ever-popular clown fish. The true highlight starts as you journey in the deeper, darker zone of the Pacific Ocean. Take a walk on the wild side and watch from a suspended glass platform as 10 species of shark swim beneath your feet. The exciting and diverse underwater world awaits you at Sea Life London Aquarium. One of the most popular and dramatic displays at Sea Life London Aquarium is the revamped Shark Reef Encounter where sinister Sand Tiger sharks, Bow Mouths, Black Tips and Grey Reefs are (with a shoal of less menacing fish to keep them company!). Get closer to some of the world’s biggest creepy crawlies in new interactive displays that allows 360° views of the most infamous jungle inhabitants in new Rainforest Adventure!

Pure magic for kids! Unforgettable parent-child day out My child and I spent a fantastic morning at SEA LIFE London Aquarium! It was the perfect size and pace for the two of us to explore together without feeling overwhelmed. Highlights: The Ocean Tunnel was easily our favorite moment—seeing giant sea turtles and rays glide right overhead left my child completely mesmerized! The interactive Rockpool Explorer where kids get to touch marine life was a wonderful hands-on experience, and watching the Gentoo penguins at Polar Adventure was an absolute delight. Parent Tips: Pre-booking a timed entry slot online saved us so much hassle. The entire route is indoors and very accessible, making it an stress-free day out. Verdict: Highly recommend for any parent taking their little one for a special trip to the South Bank!
It was awful my grandchildren couldn’t see a thing so many people i thought if you have a time slot but they just let people in all the time won’t be going again very disappointed. Very unhappy children coming out
SEA LIFE London is definitely worth a visit! The aquarium is beautifully presented, with an amazing variety of marine life and plenty of fascinating things to see. What really stood out was how incredibly clean everything was, especially the water in the tanks. The water was crystal clear, providing excellent visibility and making it a pleasure to watch the fish and other marine creatures swimming around. The different displays were captivating, and the whole place had a wonderful atmosphere. It was easy to spend ages simply admiring the animals and appreciating all the little details. A fantastic experience overall, with excellent presentation and impressive attention to cleanliness. Highly recommended!
I had an absolutely fantastic time visiting SEA LIFE London Aquarium! The entire experience exceeded my expectations, and I enjoyed every moment of my visit. One of the things that impressed me most was how incredibly clean and crystal-clear the water was throughout the aquarium. The visibility was exceptional, making it possible to admire the marine creatures in wonderful detail. Everything looked beautifully maintained, and the cleanliness of the tanks really stood out. The aquarium itself is beautifully designed, with an impressive variety of fascinating marine life. Every section offers something unique, and exploring the different underwater environments was an absolute pleasure. As someone who loves wildlife and photography, I particularly appreciated the opportunity to observe these magnificent creatures up close and capture their beauty. It was a genuinely memorable experience, and I left feeling extremely impressed. A huge compliment to everyone involved in maintaining the aquarium to such a high standard. I would wholeheartedly recommend SEA LIFE London to anyone who appreciates marine life. An absolutely wonderful experience and easily deserving of five stars!
Fun, a great adventure Perfect for families with kids and adults
It was nice but not as big as I thought it would be. Also near the penguins there isn't clear instructions on which way to go so I think we missed some attractions. The gift shop didn't have much especially for little little kids. My granddaughter is 1 and aside from stuffed animals there wasn't much for her. No clothes that size. Overall it wasn't awful and doesn't consume the entire day.
I visited yesterday and left feeling incredibly uncomfortable about the Gentoo penguin exhibit. The enclosure is far too small for these deep-diving birds. It is completely underground in a windowless basement with absolutely no access to natural light or fresh air. While I understand the aquarium promised upgrades and changes earlier this year, what I saw yesterday shows that nothing has changed yet. Forcing these animals to live under artificial light in such a restricted space feels completely outdated. I strongly urge Merlin Entertainments to stop delaying and either fast-track their promised upgrades or rehome these penguins to an open-air, outdoor sanctuary. I cannot recommend this attraction in its current state.
It is well worth doing and worth every penny there is so much to see it's fascinating. I wouldn't even hesitate to come again as it's the best hour and a half I've spent in a long time
We took our 23 month old son to Sea Life London last week, and it was also our first visit there despite passing so many times over the years. For me personally, I felt aquariums I'd visited in the past compared more favourably, be that due to presentation, size of the enclosures or better walkway tunnels. I caveat that by saying I'm by no means an expert, just going on personal feel and experience. That said seeing the superb marine life up close is of course still a magical experience. The staff were great, very friendly and welcoming. For a central London experience the price was okay (free for under 2s) but I would recommend getting a combined ticket with the London Eye For better value if possible - we consciously didnt do this so as to not overload our son. He managed about an hour in there and did enjoy it for the sensory elements. We visited on a Monday morning during term time when it was quieter. I'd strongly recommend any parents taking preschool children to try and do the same, for everyone's sake! On balance I would recommend sea life as a good attraction in London, especially if touring central more generally.
Saw some fish. It's alright, it was quite filled with school trips when we went (11am Tuesday), but waiting for them to go ahead and having some time to actually appreciate everything was nice. Highlights were coral reef, penguins and some Very Large Sharks. We also picked the VR - for us it was cheaper than the standard for some reason? But it's just ok - it's 5min in a fairly poor quality VR headset with a motion simulator. I'd do it for free or cheap but not spend an extra tenner on it.
We walked in around 12:00 pm on a Thursday afternoon and had a nice walk through the aquarium. We appreciated the photos of the fish to identify them, as well as the interesting factoids about them. It wasn’t the most impressive aquarium I’ve been to, but it was nice enough.
Good but not a great aquarium experience. VERY very much geared for children/families and more so than other aquariums
Wonderful it was so nice I enjoyed everything I saw
We went with our 3 year old and despite timed entry slots they do allow it to become extremely crowded. This meant we struggled to see many of the exhibits without a lot of pushing and shoving. The layout is good, with different themed zones and a huge amount of information about the different fish. We particularly enjoyed seeing the seahorses and jellyfish. The penguin exhibit left me feeling really sad. Small, dirty and nothing like the natural conditions these beautiful creatures should be living in. It wasn't a cheap day out and although we're regular visitors to London we won't be rushing back.
Overall the aquarium is tired and sad. We went for my daughter’s second birthday and have visited lots of aquariums so were hoping for great things. That was not the case. As an animal lover it really upset me. The enclosures were tiny and in need of serious upgrade. The water was cloudy and one part was actually leaking. For a main attraction in London they need to do better, for the animals and the visitors. Figure it out!!
The aquarium is over two floors so don't think the bottom level is everything! We didn't realise this and had to rush through the next level because of time. The exhibits are set out very well with information panels and all the fish can be seen clearly because the tanks are so big. Unfortunately there is no café inside only vending machines with nowhere properly to sit - that's why I gave a 4 star rating. After standing and walking for a couple of hours you need a rest and a welcome coffee, but that's not possible and did spoilt it a bit for us as we got tired towards the end. The aquarium could make more money by providing a café and making the visit more comfortable for visitors. Having said that, we did find a quiet spot to sit and eat/drink something but families would find it difficult. For the price we paid for 2 people (£64) it was an expensive visit and especially as there isn't a café. We have visited lots of Sealife Aquariums around the country and this one was very big. Bear in mind that you go down to -2 to start your visit so its all underground and can be dark at times, but this doesn't affect seeing all the exhibits.
We took 4 children and they loved every part of it, especially the part where they could touch sharks infertilised eggs and seeing the Penguins eating and the Sharks. We also got photos done.
Very busy, very hot, and nowhere to leave luggage. I admit to being no marine biologist but I found myself thinking that there were a lot of creatures in relatively small spaces. It also felt like the balance was wrong between ticket sales and visitor experience. It was far too busy, with people getting irritated because they couldn’t see the animals.
Not cheap but fun for the kids. Prepare for a lot of walking in a crowded place that is mostly a narrow tunnel. Lots of small kids running around, strollers with screaming kids and stressed parents. The whole round took about 2 hours because at times it was a waiting line - people walking very slowly. I saw only 5 small benches where one could sit and take a break. This place clearly needs more sitting places. Apart from that it was fun. Fishes, turtles, pinguins, ants, spiders and what not. There was a lot to see. There was a VR station where you could use VR glasses (not free), there was also a station to paint kids' faces by a professional artist (again not free). And the usual spots where you can take picture with fake background and pay tons of money.
Honestly this place is awful! No way that any of these creatures, but especially the bigger ones such as penguins, sharks, crocodiles and turtles, should be living in these cramped underground conditions. It was depressing and I couldn’t wait to leave. As an aside it was too busy to see much even if I had wanted to, I decided within two minutes that it wasn’t for me but all the tanks and windows were filled with people so good luck seeing anything much. Seriously we should be doing better than this in 2026. Avoid!
Lady Edwige is the best she helped our group get entrance tickets
Edwige is the Best! I really liked this trim to Sea Iife. I had so much fun!

Edwige is the best !!! Edwige is the best !!!
Edwige is the best!! I have never met such a nice service before. Absolutely loved the time in London Aquarium.
We had so much fun, no boring moments, the kids had fun. Great place but I would have loved to see more animals like crocodile and dolphin. Great place to be Will definitely come back.
everything perfect except kids that were keep running and screaming, there should be signs forbidding that. it ruins experience and staff don’t react, also not good.
A fun experience. This was my sec9nd time. Weekends gets really busy so if you are flexible with a day, try it out on a weekday.
We booked the VIP Turtle Experience for our turtle-obsessed 10 year old! The ticket stated 2pm and to arrive 15 minutes prior to the time. We were VERY disappointed to be left waiting for 45 minutes in a crowded thoroughfare, not ideal for my neurodivergent daughter. The excitement of the occasion was quickly ruined by this wait. After complaining, the manager said that the correct time for the activity is 2:30pm, and that time on the ticket was wrong. When we finally got in at 2:30pm the actual experience was very good. Such a shame it was ruined by the incorrect information and the unnecessary wait.
I went with my 7 year old son on August 13, 2026. All visitors are required to walk past a photo 'opportunity' where the company takes a photo of you for a fee. The older man who greeted us and asjed "how many in your party?". The people before us said they didn't want a photo and were let through. I said "we will just walk through"... trying to save everyone time. The man shifted towards me and tilted his head, tightened his facial muscles, looked at me in a 'hard' manner and asked slowly and in a menacing manner... "how many in your party?". It was a deeply unpleasant experience that came right out of the blue and threw me. I reacted and was equally unpleasant in return. I went on to explain I was trying to save time and he said that he was stopping me from getting in the way of the photos again with the jaw jutting out and the menacing/threatening manner. I wrote an email complaint but the company makes it almost impossible to contact them save to buy things. I eventually received a reply that said they would pass my complaint on. The exclamation marks (!!!) they included made it feel like a humorous response for something that was threatening and unpleasant both for my 8 year old son and myself. This man should not work with the public.. especially children. He is a threat and if he worked for me he would be sacked forthwith. I am an older father recovering from a Whipple operation for duodenal/pancreatic cancer. This was only the second trip out with my son since I finished chemotherapy. This man ruined the trip for us.
If you been to one in the UK pretty much the same, Ideal to escape the weather for an hour or so and when bought with a multi ticket experience not that costly at all.
Overall the best experience was very good but need to be a little flexible with times when it’s not overall busy. We purchased a sea life, London eye and madam Tussaud’s for about £60 which you go on to the web link and book your times. Be aware MT is not near the other attractions so take this in to account.
Before going i was warned about large crowds and kids running around swarming the aquariums/ tanks from friends who said they did not like the experience. I thought it can't be that bad. I went in January to try and avoid large crowds but there were still so many people about. Kids running around and pushing/burging/hitting people and the parents having no problem with this. I tried asking parents to stop their children hitting people but most didn't understand english. I struggled to keep my temper under control with the way people behaved there. They should have staff wondering through making sure people are keeping safe and keeping kids with their parents and not pushing/hitting people. I spoke with another couple there that was also complaining about other visitors being rude as they were also being pushed. We tried staying back but then there were larger groups behind just the same. I have family with disabilities and throughout the walk, we had kids constantly burging into us. The parents had no respect and no manners while we were there. Lots of tiny viewing windows , can barely see and they are swarmed with people pushing infront. Needs larger viewing tanks so everyone can view the majority of what's there. It is not cheap and while waiting to see next windows, people push you out of the way and kids climb infront. Wasted experience , the London zoo i thought had a far better aquarium exhibition and larger enclosures. It seems to be a tourist trap and they pack as many people in as possible. I would hate to go on a busier time of year as experience was not good in an off peak time. I purchased as part of the merlin pass and thought the London eye and dungeon were really good but would not visit the aquarium again.
This could have been a great experience a there is a great selection of sea life however it was completely ruined by being overcrowded to the point where you couldn’t even get past people to see the exhibits, it actually felt dangerous as some of the areas were very cramped. We ended up not staying more than 20 minutes as it was too noisy and we had had enough of constantly being pushed by people. Would not recommend and will not be returning.
The experience at Sea Life was fantastic. It was visited by my two teenagers, and they were very impressed. They saw many sea creatures that they had never seen before. It was a wonderful experience for them.
Had such a fantastic time at SEA LIFE London Aquarium! From the moment you step in, the displays are incredibly well done, clean, and interactive. The highlight for me was easily the sharks. Walking over the glass on the Shark Walk and watching them glide directly underneath you—and then seeing them up close in the main Ocean Tunnel—was breathtaking! The penguins at Polar Adventure were another star attraction; watching them waddle around and dive gracefully through the water was pure joy. Also, as a huge Disney fan, the "Finding Nemo" tank (Coral Kingdom) was pretty cool and completely took me back to my childhood. Spotting all the colorful clownfish swimming through the vibrant coral reef instantly brought back so many great memories! Great fun for all ages, super friendly staff, and an unforgettable day out in London. 10/10 recommendation!
We spent about 2 hours in the aquarium. It was fairly busy but you only needed to queue a couple of times to wait and see certain things. The highlight was seeing the penguin enclosure. You can buy tickets to cover multiple places but we decided not to as we only wanted to see the aquarium and we got a discount through the national rail offer.
The aquarium was a good size. They had lots of different kind of sea life. We went at noon and got right in. The penguins were nice to see. They also have two sea turtles.
I used Viator for ticket very nice and very easy to booking. I liked and kept it for future. I enjoyed with my family in side London see life
This attraction is bigger than I expected and we enjoyed seeing all the sealife. It was busy as we visited in the school holidays but we managed to see as much as we wanted too. Particular highlights were the glass tunnel, penguins and jellyfish. There's a small cafe selling cold drinks/snacks at the top of the shark tank. Managed to get a seat looking out over them which was fab.
It is so expansive for to you can see
Awesome awesome awesome experience! Great date destination
Great for kids but extremely short. It is not worth it for the price it comes with, also the sea life habitats do not seem to be big enough for the sea life.
We visited on a busy afternoon. Felt safe as there were bag checks, although others bump into us. I did not like the poor lighting. Quite good value for money but a free audio guide would be good.
Had the most amazing day - we went as a couple and were gifted a VIP experience from the ever so lovely Greybeard (Kev). We are so grateful for the ocean feeding experience it was absolutely amazing and we can't thank him enough! Thank you to all the staff members as well for being so friendly at all times!
This was a disappointing experience apart from the fact it cost us nearly 70 quid for two adults. The tanks are not big, and feel too small for the sea life on display. Quite a few displays were not working or replaced with video screens, and the general ambience is pretty dark and dismal. Totally agree with another review that questions why penguins are in here, the poor things. I tried to justify what we were seeing by the fact it contributes to conservation of the species on display. I really hope it does, otherwise places like this are simply rinsing money from tourists and belong in the dark ages.
