Knowledgeable and great fun. Parts of London never seen before. Terry’s enthusiasm is contagious. Highly recommend

We start by visiting a picture of Lucifer patron saint of the idle and self indulgent. Some of the rich have used their wealth to improve the lives of their fellow human beings. None of these good people make any appearance on this tour! This tour is designed to enable you to hear stories of lust, greed and vanity from centuries past.
London's first shopping mall is very high end and sets the tone for the interactive walking experience that you have just started. Maybe think a little bit about if money is no object how might it effect your morals?
One of the world's most exclusive auction houses has witnessed many a scandal over the years. The neighbourhood is where Nell Gwyn one of the most famous mistresses of the Merry Monarch Charles 11 lived. Nell had a particular talent for money grabbing in all matters to do with the King. Do you admire her ambition in a world which had few opportunities for women or do you dislike her morals?
Love games took place here between the Tudor King Henry V111 and his second wife Anne Boleyn five hundred years ago. Subsequent centuries were to be equally scandal filled!!!
Charles 1 walked here to his execution on a cold January morning in 1649. Some people remember him as a Martyr Saint, but is it possible to be a Saint when you knowingly lie? Much else that has happened in this Park over the centuries is far from Saintly!!!
The Old Queen is Anne from three hundred years ago most recently brought back to life in the film `The Favourite` which depicted her as part of a bitter lesbian love triangle. Are we just discussing gossip History for a bit of fun or is there something to learn about human nature here?

I first experienced Terry's unique guided tour four years ago with British friends and we thoroughly enjoyed a fun and informative couple of hours. This time I introduced a group of European friends who were delighted to have their long held suspicions about posh rich Londoners confirmed! This is a wonderful way to explore beyond the swanky shop fronts of Mayfair and appreciate the details of the area's history. Terry's clear enjoyment of the accompanying story-telling makes this tour all the more memorable. Thank you once again!
Terry has created a very fascinating tour about the antics of the rich and the famous from London's past and shows how they've left their mark on London today. A great tour for people who are already familiar with the mainstream landmarks in London or those who fancy a tour which is off the beaten track.
Terry provided a wonderfully engaging enthusiastic and informative tour. Absolutely fascinating trail around London, and even revealed a hidden gem of an area we’d never been to before, and we’re South Londoners. It was part of a ‘birthday treat’ and was the highlight of the day. Thanks again Terry.
We had a wonderful time on this tour. Whereas other tours just tell about buildings and battles, this tour focused on colorful royals. Terry told fabulous stories about William IV and other royals while showing us where they lived and played. The two hours flew by. Highly recommended!
This was a very interesting and informative tour. Took me downs streets and alleys I would never have found by myself. Highly recommended.
Wonderfully entertaining. Such fun to hear wicked gossip about mostly badly behaving royals - this is a must do!
A both funny and educational tour through London. We highly recommend taking the tour. While the weather was horrible and we where the only two not canceling, Terry still went through with the "show", which was quilte the service.
so fun!!! Terry was a great guide and made the experience such a blast. Even London locals would find this tour exciting with the many sordid tales we got to hear about. Would highly recommend making room for this tour on your holiday schedule!
Terry was amazing and very funny and witty. He added great true stories and gossiped so beautifully.
Terry was fabulous-friendly and engaging he made the tour very interesting and fun, keeping our attention with places and people that we had never known much about. Highly recommend it and our 19 year old son also enjoyed it!!!
Great tour from Terry. Lots of history and funny stories about the aristocracy. I recommend it to all.
We had a wonderful time on this tour with Terry! It was fun to hear all the juicy gossip. We got to ask a bunch of questions as well.
Interesting and entertaining tour. Very knowledgeable tour guide. I genuinely enjoyed this experience.
The tour was so much fun! Terry is wonderful and was a pleasure to be guided by. He was friendly and we felt truly welcomed. We loved his wonderful commentary about Royal and high society misbehaving! He is very knowledgeable and a skilled presenter. Thanks so much, Terry!
Terry was a great guide, balancing sharing his extensive knowledge of London alongside gossip and fun facts, about past Royals and their circle of 'friends' which some to bear some simularity to some more recent events we have witnessed!
Terry was a fantastic guide, great fun, thank you, we all enjoyed the morning very much, good exercise and lots of history
I found Terry to be very informative and lively talking about the scandals and misbehavings of Royalty and the Aristocracy in 18th century London. I found the talk about Beau Brummel, the playboy and socialite, very interesting and the hedonistic and carefree lives of the idle rich, a far cry from the poverty of that time. I also liked the way that Terry asked me questions about my historical knowledge. It made me feel a part of it, rather than being told all the time. Enjoyed walking through Burlington Arcade and Piccadilly, an appropriate setting for the tour. I found the tour interesting and informative and learn't a lot.
Thoroughly enjoyed this journey through the highways & byways of Piccadilly & Westminster exploring shopping arcades , old inns, royal parks & secret courtyards & heard scandalous tales of the royalty & aristocracy associated with them. Terry's enthusiastic & entertaining delivery helped bring the hidden history to life including the Duchess of Duke street , the Jersey Lilly & the fascinating Beau Brummel's love hate relationship with the Prince Regent. Terry's helpful blending of insightful interactive commentary & detailed historical knowledge made for an excellent experience replete with gossipy tales of a now vanished patrician class . The two hours flew by. Highly recommend.
This was an outstanding tour which Terry brings to life with exactly the right balance of deep historical knowledge and fascinating gossip and details about the people involved and life in London. We highly recommend this tour with Terry who is entertaining and involves you in the discussion throughout. We shall definitely be doing another tour with Terry.
Terry is a wonderful guide! I have gone on two of his tours and loved both. He is very knowledgeable and does a great job weaving major historical events with interesting smaller facts. I would highly recommend this and any of Terry’s other tours!
An absolutely brilliant tour with an excellent guide. So many interesting facts about London history. I thoroughly recommend it
We were fortunate enough to have a tour with Terry last month and it was excellent. He is a thoughtful and entertaining guide. The pacing is perfect, the stories well told and the final recommendations for lunch were spot on. Terry has several different tours available and we will be experiencing them all when we next return to London. Thanks Terry.
Terry is an excellent guide! We had a wonderful 2 hours strolling around London! Great tour! Highly recommend. Thank you!
All four of us friends are Londoners and have known Mayfair, St James and Westminster all our lives - yet we learned so much on Terry's enjoyable and entertaining tour. Through small passageways into beautiful hidden courtyards, out into the beauty of the Royal Park - and doing what you should always do in a city, which is to look up. This is not a fixed format tour. Terry is extremely knowledgeable, personable and fun and two interactive hours passed by very quickly. He made a birthday celebration very special - and made us all realise that wealth and entitled bad behaviour has prevailed for centuries, long before 2021!
Went on tour yesterday, Terry was very knowledgeable and friendly, great way to spend a couple of hours in London, exploring places we had not seem before and finding out about the history…..thanks Terry
Really enjoyable and informative. Terry is charming and knowledgeable. The walk is gently paced for old codgers like me; it took me to unfamiliar places and I learnt a lot of the history of my native city of which I had been shamefully ignorant. An unexpected sighting of Jacob Rees Mogg sashaying along Burlington Gardens was the least interesting event in a fascinating afternoon.
I have been on quite a few tours. This one was a fantastic experience, walking through some of the most interesting, varied and historical parts of London with Terry as guide. He is very knowledgeable, personable, humorous and above all informative. I learned a great deal about the life and times of the historical characters and always from a different and interesting perspective. He was also excellent in developing interaction within our group and we all stayed for a drink and discussion at the end. Thoroughly recommend this one.
I highly recommend this tour. It was a real insight into the lives of the rich and famous from the past. I certainly was not told any of this in my history lessons. Terry has a vast knowledge and brought the characters to life. He is also very friendly and fun to spend time with.
Lots of fun and very unique way to get some history and learn about the neighborhood, even if you live or work nearby. Mainly focuses on historic Royal scandals and the related building.
Yesterday’s “Rich People Behaving Badly Tour” with Terry Silvers was an entertaining way to spend a sunny London afternoon. Given we were in London, most of the Rich people acting Badly were ROYALS some of the sordid details were hysterical. It was time and money well spent! Walking tours are a great way to learn more about the history, people and politics of an area in a far more interactive fashion! Thanks for the fun Terry!!
Terry's tour was a blast from start to finish! It was a fascinating - and often hilarious - trip around the alleyways and streets of the 'posh' bit of London, taking in the spots where royals and aristocrats of days gone by have done all sorts of naughty and scandalous things. I'm a Londoner myself and thought I knew a fair bit about its history, but I was a little ashamed of how many colourful characters I'd never heard of, all of whom were the superstars of their day. I can't recommend this tour enough: two hours of gossip, scandal and historical rumpy-pumpy. If you love Britain's royal family, I'd say this is a MUST - you might never look at them the same way again...
Terry provided a very engaging tour of an upmarket part of London, taking us to tucked away streets, pubs, palaces and houses of ill repute. Although hugely knowledgeable, Terry's fund of stories were carefully honed to his audience so no one felt patronised or out of their depth. The louche world of the 18C and 19C was really brought alive and its resonances for today were only too clear. Thoroughly recommended!
Terry is the perfect host, he entertained us with hilarious stories about famous people that we never could have guessed and what I enjoyed most was his dry sense of humour. This is over and over worth your while. Discover the smallest square in London and which future king of England fought a dual there and where the brothel in Burlington Arcade used to be! This is a wonderful day out in London, especially now that it is more quiet and peaceful. I highly recommend this trip.
We had a memorable and highly entertaining afternoon on this tour. Excellent fun, getting to know the history of the astonishing exploits of George 4th, Edward 7th, Beau Brummell and many others. We also discovered some beautiful and well kept secret locations lying between Burlington Gardens and Westminster. Terry is an exceptional tour guide and a great raconteur, who adapts his talk to his audience perfectly. My teenage daughters and I had a great time. Good for anyone who wants to discover some highly entertaining stories of events which happened behind the scenes of some of London’s most beautiful locations. Excellent!
I liked the tour because Terry made it not only salacious, but also substantive. While our prurient interests were indulged, we also learned some “serious” history in a beautiful and unique part of the city. I highly recommend this tour. I also appreciate Terry showing us Americans where we could go to the bathroom without having to pay. Two thumbs up!
Great tour and guide - learnt lots of interesting & scurrilous facts, some of which I really wish I didn’t know! Brilliant and an area that is less frequented by walking tours. Thoroughly recommended.
Good day out but I think it should really be called Royals Behaving Badly. Mainly about George 4 and other kings and queens. Nothing about 'ordinary' rich people. But saw some hidden gems.
We didn't even notice how this two hours flew by with Terry. His stories about people, about buildings, O tempora, o mores were very fascinating and informative. Thank you very much, Terry!
My wife and I had a lovely 2hr tour with Terry, as he took us through cobbled streets that I never knew existed just off the main streets of London. We learned some interesting facts about the 17th century rich people and royalty of London and how it shaped the west side of london at a time when it was rural and counteyside! A fun 2 hours and great value for money. Terry is a lovely guide and full of knowledge and passion for Londons history!
Had a brilliant time with Terry, who showed us some landmark buildings all around Piccadilly and Westminster. Learnt quite a bit and loved all the tales about previous monarchs and famous families. Terry was very informative and passionate about this subject and came across well as a tour guide. A very enjoyable 2 hours. Would recommend.
Totally recommend this tour which gives you a unique insight into the lives of the famous. Great fun and well worth doing.
We really enjoyed the walk and learnt a great deal with clever insights . Very good value. I also recommend Terrys other walks.
Terry is a very entertaining guide ; we got some great scandal along with some serious history plus the opportunity to visit some really interesting bits of London. The tour was VERY engaging and really great fun. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for the real (albeit naughty) London.
Terry's walking experience is always very unique and different from others. He is super knowledgable about British history and London (a life-time Londoner). He is also a great teacher in telling stories that reveal another life about culture and history in London. These stories about why people travel, how people travel and how this transforms human beings and lives are fascinating tales relevant to everyone in the age of continuous discovery of the world and oneself. A must-do for both locals and visitors!
I loved this tour! It was fun relevant and had lots of juicy gossip bits.....I usually get my celeb info from my phone but this was making it come to life by walking. Other people in the group added to what I knew.... thank you! X
