Look no further than Sarah for your perfect private Hampton Court Palace guide. My 16 year old daughter heard her on the Talking Tours podcast and begged to take a tour with her. She met us (45 minutes early!) at a cafe near HCP. She was warm and it was apparent that she’s passionate about history. She was so good about checking in every so often to see what history we knew and what we needed a refresher on. Her way with history telling was just perfect. She moved along with all the fabulous information but it felt like we were hearing her tell stories. And she illustrated the stories with the palace. We have taken many private tours throughout the years and I can’t think of a better guide. Her way of explaining history is simple yet she goes so in depth. My daughter was completely engaged the entire 3 hours and so was I. I didn’t think we needed a private tour of HCP but now I can’t imagine going there without her. After the tour we went across the road the eat (just me and my daughter) and a stranger came up to me and said she had overheard a little of Sarah during our tour and was blown away. She said we were so lucky. I can’t agree more! Worth every penny

This tour is amazing and Sarah’s knowledge is incredible. She really brought the place alive for us with her historical knowledge and antidotes. It’s a very large palace and having someone guide us made it very manageable and enjoyable.

Sarah was an excellent tour guide for Hampton Court Palace. She ‘met me where I was’ in my knowledge of the palace and the history of the monarchy. She also spent time on the things I was interested in (the history, the architecture) and avoided the things I was less interested in (the art). She is very easygoing and accommodating. I’ve been fascinated by Henry VIII and his six wives since I was eight and I was so excited to see Hampton Court Palace in person. I wanted to do it right so I didn’t hesitate inviting a private tour half and I am so glad I did. Sarah was a FANTASTIC tour guide. She is incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. She also did a wonderful job of including our kids (ages 16, 13, and 11) and getting them interested in the hundreds of years of history. I do not think they would have enjoyed the trip to Hampton Court Palace if we had just walked the rooms and grounds reading signs. We are so happy we had Sarah to bring it all to life!! Sarah did a perfect job of taking us around in the two hours and then we spent another four hours at the palace. Highly recommended and cannot thank Sarah enough.

We enjoyed hearing about the origin of the Palace and Cardinal Wolseley’s role, as well as the lineage and succession of Henry VIII and his heirs. Sarah eloquently described the various architectural and decorative features of the Palace, past and present, down to interpreting the graffiti on the stonework. She also provided a lot of insight into how the Royal court operated, including the significance of the bedroom assignments. An outstanding experience!

Had a private tour with Sarah Slater. I was running late and she was looking for me and could not have been nicer about my delay. Her knowledge of Hampton Court, Palace and the kings and Queens and aristocrats who inhabited it was unbelievable. She also knew all about the art in the palace and the plantings in the gardens and had a wonderful and calm demeanor. She was one of the official Hampton court guides before Covid and now works independently, but she knows everyone in the palace and they all help each other out. It’s a wonderful collegial group. I could not have had a better experience.

Beautiful castle. Sarah was our guide and she was fantastic. Well informed and answered every question. Patient with us as we had a 9 month old with us. Crowds were basically school kids. Easy to maneuver around and look over them😉. Tulips were the icing on the cake.
