Barry is an AMAZING tour guide!! This was our second trip to spend a day with him...both times he has picked us up at Heathrow and we go straight into our tour. He has extensive knowledge of where to go (and park), where to get the best photos, martini or pint and what time of day to go, navigating crowds and traffic and insider tips on how to get the best view of the changing of the guard, what shows to see, getting cheaper tickets, etc. There is so much history in London and your time with Barry will feel like a Masterclass. I would recommend doing this early in your trip so you have time to do everything he suggests throughout your visit. We learned more from our day with Barry than we did in the next three days on our own. Definitely money well spent!! And he is a lovely person to spend the day with!!!

We met Danny outside the hotel at 9:00 AM and we talked as he drove. We explained what we would like to be able to see as this was out first time in London. He knew when the changing of the guard was happening and we set off to see a few sights on the way over to see that. He explained so many things to us as we went through the streets. Major history lessons and so many pictures taken as we went. When we came to the street where the changing of the guard was happening, he let us out and told us where to stand to see the whole event. Afterwards he met up with us, and we walked while Danny explained many more history pieces to us. We got back to the cab and took off again. More sights and photos, more history about the royal family and all sorts of things. We went to Abby Road and got pictures the plus ones of us crossing the zebra stripes. Then Danny produced a pen so we could sight our names on the wall outside the studio and took pics of that! When we were done because our time was up, he took us to an area where we could have a good lunch and explained how we could easily get back to our hotel. It was truly and amazing experience, one that we will always remember! Thank you so much Danny!
If you only have a few hours in London and want to experience the city's most iconic sights, I cannot recommend a black taxi tour with Danny highly enough. We wanted an efficient way to see London's main attractions without feeling rushed, and Danny delivered an experience that exceeded every expectation. From the moment he picked us up, Danny was professional, punctual, and incredibly knowledgeable. His expertise on London's history, culture, and landmarks made every stop interesting, but what really set the tour apart were the personal stories andanecdotes he shared along the way. It felt like we were exploring the city with a local friend rather than simply listening to a scripted tour. The experience was engaging, informative, and far more memorable than a typical bus tour. One thing that meant a great deal to our family was how accommodating Danny was to my mom, who is deaf. He was patient, thoughtful, and made sure she could fully enjoy the tour and communicate comfortably throughout the experience. His kindness and attention to her needs did not go unnoticed and made the day even more special. Some of our favorite highlights included taking the classic photos at Abbey Road, visiting an amazing hat shop/museum that we never would have discovered on our own. Danny also knew all the best places for photos and happily took fantastic pictures of our family throughout the tour. To top it all off, he texted every photo to us that same evening, which was such a thoughtful touch. If you are looking for a personalized, informative, and enjoyable way to experience London, Danny is the guide you want. His professionalism, local knowledge, and genuine care for his guests made this one of the highlights of our trip.
If you're visiting London for the first time, do yourself a favor and book a tour with Danny in his iconic black cab. It was hands down one of the absolute highlights of our trip. Danny is a true Londoner, and it shows. He knows the city inside and out, not just the history, but all of the little hidden gems and local tips that you would never find on your own. We started bright and early, and that alone made the tour worth it. He got us to Abbey Road before the crowds arrived, which meant we actually got the classic Beatles crosswalk photo without dozens of people walking through it. We even had time to sign the famous wall before it became packed. What I loved most was that we weren't just driving by landmarks. Danny pulled right up to them whenever possible so we could get out, take photos, explore, and then hop back in without wasting time. We covered an incredible amount in just one tour. Some of the highlights included: * Abbey Road (Beatles crosswalk and signing the famous wall) * Sherlock Holmes locations * The cleanest red phone booth in London (seriously!) where Danny had us all peeking around the sides for one of our favorite photos of the entire vacation. *Coffee stop at Café Diana, the charming little café that Princess Diana used to frequent. It was the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee while surrounded by memorabilia celebrating the People's Princess. * Drove by Alan Turing's home * Notting Hill, including all the famous movie locations * The last remaining Police Box for all the Doctor Who fans * Buckingham Palace * Lock & Co. Hatters from *The Kingsman* movie. Danny even shared a great insider tip: if the hats are out of your budget, buy something small like a box of chocolates and you'll still receive one of their beautiful canvas tote bags. We did exactly that! * Horse Guards, where we saw London's famous mounted guards up close. * Danny took us to a simple, fast Italian restaurant that locals actually eat at. It was delicious, reasonably priced, and exactly what we needed before continuing our adventure through the city. * Big Ben * Parliament * St. Dunstan in the East, which was one of the biggest surprises of the day. Such a peaceful and beautiful hidden spot. * Tower of London * We wrapped up the day the proper British way, with a pint at a local pub. It couldn't have been a more perfect ending. Throughout the day Danny shared fascinating stories, fun facts, bits of London history, movie trivia, and local recommendations that made every stop even more interesting. He was funny, personable, and somehow managed to make us feel like we were spending the day with a friend instead of a tour guide. I've been on guided tours all over the world, and this was easily one of the best. If you're trying to decide whether a private black cab tour is worth it, the answer is 100% yes. We saw more in one day than we ever could have on our own, avoided the crowds, learned so much, and came home with some incredible photos and memories. Thank you, Danny, for giving us such an unforgettable introduction to London. We couldn't have asked for a better first day in this amazing city!
Our family all agreed that our tour with Barry was tops of our London activities! Fun facts & a custom itinerary made a great day seeing London’s top sights! We will definitely book other tours with Barry when we return to the UK!
Our guide Barry, and his full-day private London experience, was truly the very best tour we have ever experienced in our long travel history over the years!! Barry picked us up at our hotel lobby promptly, as planned, in the most comfortable hybrid taxi. Barry is brilliant! He has an expert level of knowledge regarding London and beyond. He is kind and professional and enjoyed every minute of our full-day tour. We learned so much and Barry memorialized the day with pictures which we appreciated. It was an exceptional day all-around. The very best start to our London vacation. We couldn't have asked for better day!!!! Thank you Barry!! We are back in London and reached out to Barry to see if we could replicate our wonderful experience this time with our son. And we were not disappointed ! Barry and his team are exceptional even with last minute requests!! We appreciate the knowledge and professionalism! Will be back for sure !
Fantastic taxi tour with 9 and 11 year old boys.
A brilliant way to see all the highlights and Barry just makes it so much more fun. Would highly recommend!!
Encyclopedic knowledge of London streets, yes, even the ones that seem to exist only to confuse GPS. Organized, punctual, and genuinely great company. If black cab drivers were an Olympic sport, this man would be on the podium. Book Barry, tip him well!
Barry did a customized 8 hour tour for me and my American friends that were visiting. I’m a repeat customer of Barry because extremely knowledgeable about EVERYTHING London and such a great guy to travel around with. Would highly recommend!
The true London experience! Would highly recommend. We hired Barry to show us London’s highlights, and we had such a fantastic day (despite the weather). Booking was easy and responses quick - he even gave recommendations on restaurants/hotels. Barry was extremely knowledgable, and showed us lots of ‘secret’ locations as well as the more popular places - he’s also a very funny character and has great energy. Thanks Barry - the Bath and Stonehenge tour is next on our list!
This tour can’t be beat! Barry was incredibly good as a tour guide. Supremely knowledgeable and friendly. He took us to all the main sights and accommodated the few minor changes we requested. Everyone in our group loved it.
We had the absolute pleasure of touring with Barry, and it was one of the highlights of our trip! Our group of six included two energetic children and a family member with limited mobility, and Barry went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt comfortable, included, and engaged. Barry is a true local and a wealth of knowledge—his storytelling and historical insights brought every stop to life. He added a personal touch to the tour that made it feel intimate and authentic. You can tell he loves what he does, and it shows in every detail. We did Barry’s tour on the last day of our stay, but I highly recommend booking it early in your trip—you’ll walk away with a deeper appreciation of the area and some great local tips. Thanks to Barry, we left with cherished memories and fantastic photos. If you’re looking for a thoughtful, informative, and fun tour, Barry is your guy!
Barry is an excellent tour guide. He is knowledgeable, experienced & helpful. As a native born Londoner he knew how to guide us out of towners.
We were hoping for a “real”Londoner. Barry is definitely that. He does a fantastic job of showing you all the historical sites in the heart of London. He pointed out his favorite pubs, as well as the best spots to get a good photo. We laughed and had a really good time.
We had a great tour with Barry . He picked us up from our friends house about an hour away from London , then took us all around London . He knew the places to go , he pointed out different interesting sites and also gave us historical facts . He has great knowledge and we would highly recommend him.
My wife and I had a better than expected tour with Barry. I thought at first it was pricey but it was WEP - Worth Every Penny/Pound/Pence. Barry was gracious, helpful, knowledgeable and made the day more wonderful than we expected. We got to see all the things a foreigner wants to see ie; Buckingham Palace, Westminsgter Abbey, Tower of London etal without having to pick and choose what to see. I'd recommend Barry on the first day of your Holiday and pick and choose what/where you want to spend more time. He's not only a schooled historian, but gave us a true sense of the English and Londoners. It confirmed what i thought about many things English-esque and changed my views and understand/appreciation of what I believe are American mis-perceptions about England eg; the Royal Family and their importance to the country. I could go on and on but won't. Just hire this mate...he's amazing and WEP. Last thing, if you're planning to do the Cotswolds/Oxford tour; ask him if when you book the London tour if he can do that as well. We had a fine tour bus with 20+ people but if I knew what i know now, I'd have booked both with him...Cheers...JEM
My family had a lovely day, thanks to Barry. He was so kind and knowledgeable and helped us maximize our time to fit in all the must-see sights, especially with my mother in laws mobility issues. Recommend him enthusiastically and without reservation.
A perfect way to orient yourselves to London. Barry provides concierge level service throughout his tour. Everything exceeded expectations.
Danny made the trip fun. He took us to places that we didn't know existed and ones that we did. He was funny and knowledgeable.
This was by far the best tour we have ever done and that is saying a lot being we travel frequently. Our guide, Barry went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience. He personalized the day and even made us a reservation at a delicious restaurant for lunch. This is definitely the tour you should book if you want to see the most of London with a personal touch.
We were picked up at our local address and treated to a personalized tour of London greater attractions taking into account the sites we had already visited. Barry was an excellent historian with a great amount of knowledge about the sites we visited. The tour would have ended back at our local residence, but Barry dropped us off at a local pub that he recommended at our request. Great day!
Barry is a total pro! He knows London like the back of his hand. He took us to the big sights as well as more off the beaten track places. He provided fascinating facts and stories about each stop. Barry is a pleasant fellow, we liked him immediately. As a life long cab driver, he seemed to know just where he could park so we could pop in places quickly. And he also knows exactly where to take a family photo with the most iconic London landmarks in the background. Barry is a life long Londoner so he can quickly customize the tour based on the interests of the group. For instance, he added two stops he thought our teenage kids would like! Barry knows how to efficiently get around town so we covered way more ground than we ever could have done on our own. It was 90 degrees the day of our tour. Being able to cool off in his air conditioned cab between stops was ideal. I can’t recommend Barry’s tour enough, especially for your first day or two in London.
Barry was great. He showed us some really cool places and told us some great stories. We were able to see all of the key points of the city in an abbreviated version. We even got to see the King up close. We would recommend this tour to anyone.
Danny was an excellent tour guide and taxi driver. He showed up exactly where we requested and dropped us off where we requested. We had just arrived from a cruise so we were all arguably exhausted. However, Danny was able to keep us completely engaged in the tour. This was such a great way to get an overview of the city - he shared many stories, locations that we would have not known about, and interesting tidbits about London. We learned a lot of history as well. It is clear that Danny loves what he does. He was funny and entertaining. For those that may not know, taxis drivers in London undergo a lot of training and experience. Rest assured you will get so much more out of this than just having an Uber drive you around. If you have a short time in London, just like we did, this is a fantastic way to see the sights you want to see, as well as many that you may not have even known about. I recommend this tour without hesitation!
Barry our driver was absolutely wonderful took us all over London. Saw all the sights, told many interesting stories and took many pics of us which he mailed to us
Danny went above and beyond for us- we were 3 generations and he suggested a route for all- showed is little streets and landmarks we never would have noticed! A gem
It was a great half day tour to get oriented with London. Barry was insightful and tailored the tour to our interests. He took us to places off the beaten path as well. It was amazing how much he covered in such a short time. Amazing driver and tour guide in one. Highly recommend.
Barry was the best your guide I’ve ever encountered. He is super knowledgeable, knows the city like the back of his hand and combines it all with some good humor. Would highly recommend
He gave his all and was informative and helpful. It was an interesting trip. He was an excellent host.
Barry’s tour was the perfect introduction to our first-time visit to London. Throughout our tour, Barry shared stories that included not only the history of the many sights we saw but he always added many interesting “fun and entertaining facts” that you wouldn’t learn on your own or in a tour book (such as his tidbits about Piccadilly and wharf – you’ll need to go on his tour to learn more). As a London “cabbie” he expertly navigated the busy (and complicated) streets and had access to the best spots to park when we ventured out at our stops. And he always ensured we had a few great photos of our group before we traveled on to our next stop. We highly recommend Barry’s tour as a “must-do” when you’re in London.
We had a fantastic and memorable time with Barry! As a cabbie, Barry not only knew the ins and outs of the London traffic but had so many stories to share of the different places we squeezed in the 6 hours we had. If you don't have a lot of time in London, this is the best one to have as you get to see all the sights, have the requisite touristy pics, and get a proper fish and chips. We enjoyed the off-the-beaten-path sights the most, where you have London history, mixed with Harry Potter and maybe the punk scene while you're at it. Highly recommended!
Just spent an amazing 3 1/2 hour London city tour with Barry and there was something for everyone. We are a three generation family and Barry was able to put together a tour that kept my 9 year old granddaughter entertained and even got me using the spray paint (it was legal) to leave my graffiti stamp on London’s walls. A great way to see the city in a nutshell with fun facts and humor to boot. We had so much fun and although I have been to London many times, Barry provided a good introduction to the city and it’s history for the youngster in the group and kept her interested with a sprinkling of Harry Potter, the Royals and the aforementioned spray paint. Barry was the perfect host to all that is legendary here whilst (love this word) giving us a peek into new trends. I highly recommend Barry’s Tours in London and around England.
Barry was our tour guide and he was amazing! Took us to all the spots not on an ordinary tour plus the spots we’d wan to see! Such a great knowledge of history and an amazing photographer as well! We had a day tour and it flew by! Having a tour with Barry truly enhanced our London trip! Highly recommend!
Barry was the most informative and energetic tour guide I have ever had It was a great experience from the start of booking till he dropped us off at the hotel I would give the whole adventure a solid 10+. Anyone who has a very short time in London or just wants to get a great overview of the town before doing more exploring will enjoy the trip and Barry's knowledge. One of the best day trips ever.
This is a must do!! Our tour guide Barry was fantastic. He provided interesting information about all of our stops. This kept all of us entertained and engaged. You get such a better feeling of the city when you take personal tours like this and he provided so much history as well. We recommend using this tour company if you ever visit London. Great experienced!
Our family enjoyed our private tour with our guide Barry. Everything went smoothly, driver was on time at our pick up spot, and you can plan ahead and choose your end of tour drop off point. Taxi was clean w/bottled water. Barry is an experienced, professional guide. This tour is the best way to see the most of London with the least amount of time. Barry also took pictures for us, which is important to us. I would recommend booking this tour at the beginning of your vacation, so you can see everything. You can decide if you want to go back to spend more time at your favorite locations. I would highly recommend this tour with our guide Barry.
Barry was super friendly and efficient picking us up from Heathrow airport. The tour was as described on his website we got to take a lot of photos and arrived back at our hotel on time. I would definitely recommend first time visitors to London to consider Barry as their introduction to the city.
What a great tour!!! Barry was awesome so knowledgeable and fun. I highly recommend this tour for families, groups or individuals.
What a great tour!!!! It was genuinely so much for me and my family, even my 17 year old son enjoyed it!! We got to see so much of London, including some hidden gems we never would have seen otherwise! Could not recommend this tour enough, Barry was awesome 🤩
Barry is a fantastic guide filled with knowledge and personality. We enjoyed every moment with him! He is a wonderful storyteller and the locations and facts were intriguing whether this is your first visit or you have been to London before. Barry made sure we saw what we wanted to see and then some!! It was an awesome experience that I would recommend to anyone.
From the moment we met Barry until we said goodbye he was pleasant, knowledgable, and very personable. He provided a fantastic set of facts and stories with each stop along the way as well as during our driving time. I would highly recommend this experience with Barry! He is the best.
Guide is friendly, full of interesting information, takes great photos. Best way to see highlights in a short time.
Barry was fantastic! He took us everywhere even though Coronation festivities had streets blocked and clogged. We didn’t miss a thing. He knew exactly where to park for the best pictures and where to grab a great pint afterwards. Very accommodating and so knowledgeable.
Barry was excellent both in his hospitality as well as his knowledge. This was the perfect tour to take as soon as we got off the plane. It’s the best way to get an understanding of London as well as fight off jet lag. I would highly recommend Barry anytime
Barry was awesome! Friendly and had wealth of information. Will remember him for next trip. Highly recommend,
Consider yourself lucky and blessed when you book a tour with Barry Tours. Barry is a genuine trifecta of a tour guide, he is reliable, informative and engaging. We were a family of four traveling from Texas ( a tween & teen daughters) and could not have more pleased with our tour. Barry helped orchestrate lifetime memories that we will always be thankful for.
We had a fantastic tour with Benny. He was punctual, funny, kind and incredibly knowledgeable! He knows everything about London. He took us to the perfect photo spots and he sure knew his way around. What a fun day!!!
Highlight of our family trip to London! Berry was very engaging and kind to our young boys, and so knowledgeable about London - we ALL learned a lot! We’ll look for Barry’s tours in the future!
Barry was an excellent tour guide. It was a windy, rainy holiday weekend BUT he was very accommodating and the dreary weather was a not an issue at all! Even a broken umbrella or two could not stop the fun. The tour was well structured and absolutely packed with all of the sights and must-sees of London. Barry’s tour is ann excellent experience, and sure to be a highlight of anyone’s trip to London.
