My wife and I recently visited London on holiday. We booked a half day walking food tour. We met our tour guide, George, at a local pub. The tour started at the world famous Borough Market. George’s knowledge of the market and its history was amazing. His selection of various foods to sample was delicious. My personal favorite was the sausage rolls from Ginger Pig. If you visit London I strongly recommend booking the walking food tour and specifically ask for George as your tour guide. Cheers Lou & Judy Sartori

We had such a great experience touring Borough Market with George! He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire experience so much fun. We were running a little late, but he was very understanding and flexible, which we really appreciated. He shared so much interesting information about the market, its history, and the different foods we tried along the way. George made the tour feel relaxed, personal, and enjoyable from start to finish. It was definitely one of the highlights of our time in London! We highly recommend booking a tour with him!
We had a private food tour with George in May 2026 at the Borough Market. He was fantastic! George was personable, worked around our dietary needs, and was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. Would recommend this tour for anyone looking to have a special foodie experience in London!
I typically don’t give reviews, but our experience with Sam was worthy of taking the time to do so. Sam is energetic, informative, and truly a lot of fun to be with. He has an infectious laugh and personality that made the morning a delight. He was well prepared and had pre-ordered several items we experienced when otherwise we would have had to be standing in line. I can’t say enough positive things about our experience with Sam and would recommend you hire him as well.
This was our favorite tour in London. David really brought London to life by sharing their libations and authentic food in Borough Market. David is a chef and mixologist and has a lot of experience with all types of food. The sausage roll was my favorite and the bleu cheese was my husband’s favorite. We highly recommend and we will be back. Thank you for a special experience!!
This was the best tour of our trip. Our guide, the mighty Tom, was incredibly knowledgeable, gracious, and tremendous fun. Really the best. We would do it all again!!
We have just returned from a fabulous 10 day whirlwind trip to London. One of the highlights was our afternoon spent with George from Chubby Fellow for the Royals Tour. He took us on a walking tour, which included: sparkling wine at the Punchbowl pub, Charbonnel et Walker for Truffles, Paxton and Whitfield for exquisite cheeses, ending with dinner at Michael Caines Michelin star restaurant at the Stafford Hotel. Many thanks to George, you were delightful and helped us to see London in a way that we would not have otherwise. Teresa and Gary from Colorado
George from Chubby Fellow was absolutely delightful. He truly gave us a "taste" of the East End! We would recommend this trip to anyone!
ad an absolutely fantastic experience on our Chubby Fellow tour, and it was the perfect way to explore London through its food. From the moment we arrived, Tom made us feel welcome and set the tone beautifully by greeting us with a basil gin smash, which was such a fun and memorable way to start the tour. Tom was outstanding throughout the entire experience. He was engaging, entertaining, knowledgeable, and incredibly thoughtful, striking the perfect balance between sharing interesting details and keeping the atmosphere relaxed and enjoyable. His enthusiasm really added to the tour, and he made the whole experience feel personal rather than rushed or overly scripted. The food was excellent from start to finish. We enjoyed a great variety of dishes, and each stop felt carefully chosen. It was clear that a lot of care goes into creating the tour. One of the absolute highlights was Blacklock, where we had the most delicious mushroom and pigs head toast as well white chocolate mousse cheesecake and we actually went back that night for a full Sunday roast which all should experience if possible … pure perfecrion. Overall, this was a wonderful experience and one we would highly recommend to anyone visiting London, whether it is your first time in the city or you already know it well. The combination of great food, excellent hosting, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere made it a standout part of our trip. We will definitely book another Chubby Fellow tour in a different area of London when we return. Thank you!
We were met by Taylor outside our Soho hotel and were greeted with a basil gin smash to start the tour off the right way! Taylor was engaging, entertaining, and thoughtful throughout the tour and certainly matched the food in excellence. We had a variety of foods, and Taylor explained that each tour is slightly different depending upon group size and reservation availability of the different places that you see. The dim sum was so good that we went back for lunch another day. We will definitely do another Chubby Fellow tour in another area of London when we return.
Amazing day! We loved Sam. He was so informative and so much fun to be with. Highly recommend
Our family just returned from London and the 2 tours we did with The Chubby Fellows were absolutely wonderful and certainly among the highlights of the week we spent there. We had two different guides and ended up meeting all 4 of the Company founders (known as the Core 4) and all of them are as nice and knowledgeable as you could imagine. If you enjoy food or enjoy pubs, or if you are like us and enjoy both food and pubs then this is something that you should absolutely add to your itinerary. As a tourist in London you’ll obviously want to visit all of the famous sights (where you’ll be joined by a million other people who have the same plan) but these tours are the sort of fun, quirky activities that really make a trip special and create lasting memories. I recommend them in the strongest possible terms and give them 5 stars- or pints if you prefer.
This was an excellent food tour. George was a delight and very knowledgeable about the area and different vendors. We sampled a wide range of delicious British specialities from the market, including sausage roll, fish and chips, sticky toffee pudding, and the best cheddar I’ve had. It was enough food that we didn’t need dinner but not so much we felt overly full. The market is full and bustling, but George knew how to navigate it so that we avoided the worst of the crowds. Highly recommend!
George is a pro - delightful, witty, and very knowledgeable. He fed us a mix of great food and desserts.
We learned a lot. The diverse foods and information that George shared gave us a real London. He was a complete delight and turned a rainy day into light - literally! George’s knowledge was far reaching. Excellent plus!
This was one of the best food tours we have done. George was an excellent guide. He made our whole experience fun and we leaned so much about the history of Soho as well as the food. Highly recommend.
The Borough Market tour was great fun. Our guide, George, was very personable and knowledgeable. The tastings he chose were spot on and his descriptions of the food and related history very interesting. I highly recommend this tour and probably anything else with Chubby Fellow.
We had a wonderful time on this food tour and ate at great, diverse restaurants that we would never have found on our own! George was knowledgeable and fun and a great guide! Would do it again!
George was an excellent guide. Food was great, learning about the area was great. Would definitely do again.
We had the best tour with George through SOHO. He took us to places we never would have found on our own. So much delicious food along with History and random facts. George really made the trip fun. Would highly recommend this tour!
What a fun experience. We were traveling with our three boys (7-11yo) and they had a blast. George was an awesome tour guide and was able to engage with all of us. Great food and a fun way to see the Borough Market. Would highly recommend and we will do it again on our next trip.
Highly recommend this experience! George provided historic background and expertly guided all of us through Borough market so we could taste the best of the best!! made the crowds manageable too.
Absolutely amazing and unique experience. Just the way I like it! A great variety of food with an entertaining guide!!
We had a wonderful time with George as we explored Soho. Wonderful conversation along the way to accompany the fantastic food! Between the food and the length of the tour, it was certainly worth the price and then some. Highly recommend for anyone visiting London to learn loads about the city and experience great food among all of the options London has to offer.
You won’t want to miss this London experience. A sampling of the areas finest. From Chinese crepes to chocolates to a chop house, a food tour from Chubby Fellow should not be missed! Would highly recommend and would do it again!
George was great! Highly recommend to anyone looking to eat good food, and a get a great tour/ history of Borough Market!!!!!!!!!!! One of the highlights of our trip!
George was absolutely the best!! Picked out such local foods that we wouldn’t have tried. Very knowledgeable about history, food, etc.. would highly recommend using this company for any tours!
George was absolutely fantastic. The food tour was incredible and George provided great insights. My wife and I had a great time and would highly recommend George and this SOHO food tour.
Tom led us on an informative, delicious and totally entertaining trip around SoHo. I had never been on a foodie excursion before, Tom made my first one totally awesome!
This is a really fun tour. We elected to conduct our journey in Borough Market which was fantastic on a Sunday morning. The food samples were well thought out, well proportioned, and overall delicious. Our guide Sam was humorous, knowledgeable, and fun to be around. The tour didn't extend through the advertised time and was a little pricey for what we received. Overall a fun and worthy experience.
We had an amazing food tour of Chinatown and Soho with Sam. He brought us homemade drinks and we sampled wonderful, eclectic food. It was a great way to learn about London and our entire family loved it!
George was a great guide, had a lot of great little spots for some wide variety of food, i would def tell my friends if ever in london to give this tour a try!
We had a fantastic experience on the East End Food Tour with George! Traveling with three kids under 15, it’s not always easy to keep everyone engaged—but George made it effortless. He introduced us to an amazing variety of foods, from specialty bagel sandwiches and curry to classic British dishes and some delicious sweet treats along the way. Everything was thoughtfully chosen, and we definitely left feeling full and satisfied. What really made the tour special, though, was George himself—his stories, deep knowledge of food, and insights into London kept us all entertained from start to finish. Highly recommend for families and food lovers alike!
We had a wonderful time with David on our Soho food tour. He took us to spots we likely wouldn’t have found on our own, and every stop was thoughtfully chosen and absolutely delicious. The experience felt like being part of a food travel show—effortless, fun, and full of great stories. David is incredibly knowledgeable about Soho’s food scene and shared insider tips that made the rest of our time in London even better. If you’re visiting London and want a unique way to explore Soho, this tour is absolutely worth it. We’ll definitely be recommending it and can’t wait to come back.
We had an English food tour of the Borough Market with Taylor from Chubby Fellow. Taylor was an engaging knowledgeable fellow who had stories and facts to share about the Market and the surrounding area during our late afternoon tour. We started with introductions and a short gin basil smash cocktail, then moved through the various areas of the market for the next couple of hours. We sampled sausage rolls, cheese, fish and chips, empanadas and craft beers finishing with a standard English dessert at a near by English pub. The pace was easy, the food was delicious and Taylor’s spin on the market was great. Highly recommended.
As seasoned international travelers, we enjoy food tours to get an authentic flavor of the area we are visiting. While most have been lovely, the Chubby Fellow Soho tour that we took with Taylor was exceptional! His energy, enthusiasm and knowledge brought our experience to life. He greeted us outside our hotel with a homemade gin basil smash cocktail to start our journey! From there we visited 5 different places, highlighting 5 different cuisines, each one outstandingly memorable in its own unique way. While the food was incredible, Taylor’s engagement was what makes us wish we could rate this tour a 10 out of 5. If you have time to do a food tour with Chubby Fellow, you will not be disappointed.
My daughter and I have just returned from an outstanding guided tour of Borough Market's cheese stalls. Our host, David was a perfect blend of knowledge and humour. He is a self-proclaimed foodie and mixologist and clearly has a passion for cheese. I'd only ever been to Borough Market once before and, on that occasion, had found the crowds and the choices overwhelming. David however expertly navigated us through it all, finding quiet places for us to sit (for example at a street food bar where we were treated to a delicious selection of Empanadas) and pausing at carefully selected cheese stalls to introduce us to artisans from Italy, France, Switzerland, Portugal and even England. He knew them all and was greeted at each stall as a long lost friend. In fact, it reminded me of the scene in the film Goodfellas, where Henry Hill brings his new wife Karen to the Copacabana night club where his mob connections grant them instant VIP treatment. However, rather than a menacing underlying threat of violence, we were put at ease by the kindness of strangers; rather than cocaine, we were treated to cheeses from all over the world. Who'd have thought I'd ever try cheese fermented in Prosecco, followed by a mushroom risotto? During our travels, David put together a goody bag of our favourites, including cheese cake. There are a few reasons I've called this review 'Perfect Pairing'. Firstly, David expertly selected unusual and bold accompaniments to pair with the cheese. We had Turkish delight infused with blackberries; cider; and a cocktail that David had crafted that morning, which included gin, blueberries and chilli. Secondly, my daughter had bought this experience as a 60th birthday treat and I'd like to think that she and I made the perfect pairing too. But finally, being accompanied by David made him the perfect pairing for us. Thank you David for opening our eyes, or rather - awakening our senses - to new textures, flavours and places.
Taylor was our guide for the Chubby Fellow tour of Soho. He is one of the founders of the company and his enthusiasm and energy were amazing. There were five of us on the tour, and at the end we were asked for our favorite on the tour. Everyone picked something different! The tour started off with a bang, and a little homemade cocktail. The Gin Basil Smash was a smashing success. Apparently tours vary, depending upon size of the party & availability of the restaurants, so our experience may be slightly different than yours. We had Jain Bing at the Chinese Tapas House. We had not had anything like this before and found this a great start to our tour. We headed to Leongs Legend for hand made dim sum with Pork Soup Dumplings and Prawn Har Gow. This was so good that we returned to this restaurant a couple of days later and had a full meal there. Mango daiquiris were perfectly paired with Roti Chanai at Laxsa. While delicious, this overall flavor profile was not new to us. Lina Stores was the site of "drunk" cheese and proscuitto San Danielle. The proscuitto can go head to head with any Iberico jamon you can find in Spain - it was amazing. We also went back here for a bottle of wine & more "drunk" cheese for another night. We capped off our tour at William Curley chocolatier for some unusual truffle flavors. Taylor was engaging and enthusiastic about the entire experience and this tour was one of the highlights of our visit to London. I would highly recommend this.
My husband and I had a private tour with David. He is extraordinary - warm, engaging and funny. We loved our food tour of SOHO - it was definitely a highlight of our London trip.
The tour was incredibly interesting, everything I ate was delicious and Tom could not have been nicer. Would definitely recommend and do again.
I don’t normally write reviews, but felt compelled to share this amazing experience. David our tour guide was so much fun and knowledgeable. We spent a wonderful afternoon wandering around Borough market, tasting all that’s British and being thoroughly entertained. I highly recommend this high end food tour with an awesome guide. Thanks David we had the best time.
I booked a Borough Market food tour with my family as a festive treat. David was a fantastic tour guide who kept us entertained and more importantly full!! As a Londoner it was amazing to explore an area I thought I knew in a new light, the stories and hidden gems were paired with delicious food. My personal highlights were the fish&chips and then the sticky toffee pudding with the English sparkling wine. I couldn’t recommend this enough if for people who are looking for a unique and chubby way to explore London!
I previously did the excellent Edinburgh chubby fellow tour and so came into our borough market tour with extremely high hopes and expectations. These were met and exceeded by our wonderful guide Tim and all the excellent food that we otherwise wouldn't have seen or tried. The fish was phenomenal, the cheeses just excellent and toms easy going nature and natural charm really helped us country folk feel at ease in borough market which can be an intimidating place. If you do one thing while you're in London, make it a chubby fellow tour!
We paid £350 for a two-person tour of Borough Market booked through Red Letter Days, and while our guide was knowledgeable and engaging, the food value for money was very poor. The experience consisted of small street-food style tastings (half a sausage roll, a portion of chaat dosa, small cheese samples, an empanada, dessert, one small cocktail and a glass of sparkling wine), which felt more like light grazing than a premium food tour. Our guide’s enthusiasm could not negate the feeling that £175 per person was excessive. Overall, significantly overpriced for what was provided.
I had been on a tour with David before, and when my cousins were coming to visit from Australia I thought it would be an awesome way for them to get to see some of the best spots in Soho. My expectations were high as I had such a great time on the last tour, but I was not disappointed!! The food was varied and absolutely delicious, and our guide Sam did an amazing, sharing loads about the food and how it was made, as well as some interesting stories about the area! Highly recommend!!!
We had a wonderful time on our Borough Market food tour with David. The area was buzzing and the market is absolutely beautiful. The food we sampled was delicious and high quality but the best part of it though was our guide, David. He was so knowledgeable and clearly passionate about food & drink. HIs cocktail stories are fabulous. Would HIGHLY recommend an experience with Chubby Fellow!
Ok, it has taken me a month to fully get some perspective on this and so, here goes... I can make, what I think is a reasonable comparison, certainly in terms of cost. we went as a four, with another couple, our experience last night at Bob Bob Rickards costing £305 three courses (per couple) , a bottle of good quality wine and one of champagne, beef wellington, a starter and sweet each, was simply wonderful and this price included a 14% service charge !. Compare this to our Borough Market tour by Chubby Fellows costing £350 for just us as a couple. We got about a 2 inch long piece of Ginger Pig sausage roll, an Indian samosa, 1/2 an Argentinian pasty and a small piece of sticky toffee pudding with prosecco for £350, yes £350!!!!. Yes we knew it was borough market, but what we were expecting was to be taken to a sort of safari dinner with knowledge of little hidden cafes and places like the bookshop which has lunch for £10 when you just rock up, what we got was just wandering round a few stalls and a chat in the final pub for 1/2 hour! our host was nice, but this is completely off the scale pricey for what we got. We used money given to us for my 60th birthday and my husband's 64th birthday and we felt we completely wasted the money. WE FEEL CHEATED AND COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF AND WOULD ADVISE NOBODY TO BOOK Incidentally, I have never written a bad review about anything before, only positive and informative, so that should also add context.
Sam did an amazing job of showing us a part of London we were not familiar with. He had us experience several different types of food in the area and they were all amazing! He’s very knowledgeable so friendly , and so much fun to explore with!
We absolutely loved our SoHo tour! Every stop featured delicious bites, and we discovered places we never would have found on our own. Sam was engaging, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel like we were out exploring with a friend rather than on a formal tour. The pace was perfect, the stories were fascinating, and the food was outstanding. This was truly one of the highlights of our London trip—highly recommend!
We truly enjoyed our food tour with Sam. It was like having a family member taking us to some great places and showing us some of the best hidden gems of London. Sam was very personable and we very much enjoyed spending time with him...Great tour guide and very knowledgeable. Highly recommended!!
