Alex was amazing. It was a tough day for one of our kids and Alex handled it like a professional. She salvaged what could have been a disaster!

Our guided tour of the British Museum with Jeremy was one of the highlights of our trip. Jeremy was absolutely fantastic—knowledgeable, engaging, and incredibly skilled at bringing the museum’s history and artifacts to life. He knew the museum inside and out and expertly guided us through the most important exhibits, providing context and stories that we never would have appreciated on our own. Rather than wandering through galleries reading signs, we were able to go deeper into the museum’s highlights and gain a much richer understanding of what we were seeing. Jeremy was especially wonderful with our kids, keeping them engaged, answering their questions, and making the experience enjoyable for the whole family. His enthusiasm, expertise, and ability to tailor the tour to our interests made all the difference. We highly recommend Jeremy to anyone looking for an outstanding guide. Booking was easy through Viator and we were able to coordinate our meet up with Jeremy through WhatsApp.
My family enjoyed a tour of several highlights of the Museum, led by our excellent guide, Alexandra. Focused on being informative and educational for our grandsons (notably the 12 year old), it was also enjoyable for parents and grandparents. Rosetta Stone, Pantheon, Assyrian carvings, mummies, papyrus scrolls, and ancient Roman helmets and tools kept everyone’s interest. A very enjoyable introduction to the Museum.
Wonderful experience! Alexandra was great and made the experience positive and meaningful for all of us, including our six year old with wandering attention.
Alexandra was so great! She adjusted well to our six year old and her wandering attention. We had a great time! We truly would have only stayed in that museum for 20 minutes without guidance because it would have seemed too overwhelming with kids.
Alex was an incredible tour guide and our family had a lovely experience!
Alex was an incredible tour guide. She was so informative and kind and great with our kids.
Leila did a wonderful job guiding my family (including kindergartener) through the British Museum. She connected with our kid, delivered information at a kid and adult level, and engaged with him on the artifacts in the Museum. Would recommend Leila for a family tour.
Imagine getting a museum tour from David Tenant as The Doctor in Doctor Who... Jeremy was just like that! He made learning and history fun for the adults and the kids, making special effort to get to know us and just making it all come alive... and entertaining. Well worth it. Would definitely book a tour with Jeremy again!
Larry from Viator gave me and our children ages 6 and 10 the most incredible 2 hour tour of the British Museum perfectly pitched to their ages and interests. He held their interests with memorable stories and deftly guided us through the crowds to the most important and interesting exhibits.
We had an amazing guide - Alexandra, who was knowledgeable and engaging with kids. We had a wonderful time seeing the highlights of the museum.
Darcy was wonderful, energetic and enthusiastic. My daughter, who initially was moaning about having to "go to a museum again" was all smiles at the end and said she had a great time! We both learned a lot.
very informative and we appreciated the tour! Very kid friendly and engaging! Got hreat perspective on key items there.
We did the private British Museum and Tower of London tours on a trip to London with our 7 and 10 year old boys. Before this, we’ve never been able to keep our kids interested at a museum for more than one hour max. But our guide Alexandra was amazing and had them engaged the entire time for both tours! The British Museum tour was around 3 hours long and the Tower of London was about 3.5 hours. Alexandra did a great job keeping the kids engaged with a fun scavenger hunt, activities and flash cards. While kid oriented, the tour was also interesting for grownups - as Alexandra is extremely knowledgeable (about basically everything). She was also great about (very politely) pushing back when museum staff tried to close an exhibit 10 minutes early. I highly recommend - especially if you have school- age children. This was one of the splurges we made for tie trip and I’m so glad we did. It was worth the price. I would definitely use this tour company again if we ever take another family trip to London.
Jeremy was an incredible guide!! My 9yo had an absolute blast, and he kept all of us laughing while learning anout highlights from the collection. I’d hands down recommend him by name!!
Our tour guide Larry provided us with an exceptional experience, and geared his talking points to our 12 year old son to make the tour more enjoyable for him.
We had the best time with Lucy, touring the British Museum in London. She was friendly, funny, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, professional and just a joy to spend the morning with. She kept my whole family (grandparents, parents, a tween and 9 year old) utterly fascinated with the exhibits she cherry-picked to show us. We would definitely work with Pinocchio Tours again the next time we are in London, and would absolutely request Lucy. We ran into her the following day at The Tour of London and regretted not having her guide us through that site, as well!
Larry with Pinocchio Tours was wonderful with our children. He was very knowledgeable and presented information in a manner that engaged the whole family. We highly recommend the tour!
Larry was a great guide with amazing behind-the-scene stories. We enjoyed the tour a lot, making sure we were introduced to all of the famous spots in the museum. Would definetly recommend the tour and the guide!
Our guide made the kids comfortable and made it educational for all of us. Would highly recommend the tour to families.
If you want to hit some off the best areas and items with someone that will explain why what you’re looking at is important and interesting, this tour is for you. Our guide Marina was excellent and extremely knowledgeable. She made the Louvre fun and interesting for the entire group, including our 10yr old.
Larry was wonderful! My kids age 10 and 12 enjoyed it a lot. He gave us a wonderful two hour tour that kept kids engaged. No small feat
Larry was an amazing tour guide. He was extremely engaging for our children and made the tour fun. Thank you very much.
Alexandra was amazing especially with the kids and she put all the group in the adventure which started since the line of entrance. We didn’t even the almost 3h of walk. Amazing time ….
It was great to see the museum with Josephine. She was so eager, and really personalized our experience with the things that interested us most.
It's hard to imagine a tour of the British Museum, with wealth of objects and exhibitions, both engaging and comprehensive for children. Our guide was wonderful--a terrific teacher and great with kids, as well as immensely knowledgeable. This was a five-star experience.
Great guide, full of knowledge and enthusiasm and good with kids. An ideal way to introduce my grandchildren to the British Museum.
Wow! We were two families with kids aged between 8-13 and we all loved it! An easy yes to recommend.
Vicky was amazing!!! She was so welcoming and knew our names and the children’s ages. The girls were so enthralled the whole time! They loved the quiz they needed to answer as Vicky took us through history with fun stories and great explanations. The Egyptians were the best!!! Thanks so much for such a wonderful morning at the British Museum!!!
Alexandra was amazing! I highly recommend a children and family tour with her. She was very knowledgeable and engaged the children the entire tour! She helped us navigate the crowd and showed us all the highlights!
Lucy was amazing. Knowledgeable, fun, dynamic, and sweet. I had a 10 year old with me and she knew exactly how to pitch it.
We did this tour with our family and had an amazing time with our guide, Marina! She was able to engage our six and nine year old boys for two hours, and also cater the tour to me and my husband. The museum is huge and I think it would’ve been overwhelming to try and find the highlights ourselves. Two hours is about the max stamina our kids have for a museum, so it really was perfect. Would definitely recommend and we would do this again in a heartbeat!
Christina was extremely knowledgeable and relatable to our kids. It happened to be very crowded the day we visited, but Christina effortlessly navigated around the museum. We saw so many artifacts and learned so much in 2 hours!
Excellent tour, Denisa was absolutely amazing with us and the kids. First she made the wait short for us to get into the museum, which was greatly appreciated on a rainy morning. Denisa has a vast knowledge of all things in the British Museum. She also tailored the tour to keep our 4 and 6 year olds very engaged throughout the 2.5 hour tour!! Thank you Denisa!!
Lucy was an excellent tour guide and very flexible with our start time when we requested to come a little later. She was very knowledgeable and kind. She can only take you through the highlights of the museum due to how absolutely massive the place is so if you'd like a bit more of a leisurely stroll through the museum, stopping at every single thing there is to see, I recommend you do it alone. However, if you want someone to guide you through it to make sure you see the most impressive stuff, this tour is for you!
We had a wonderful time with our tour guide, Lucy. She kept our 10 year olds entertained and even helped us cut the queue! Thank you so much!
This tour is a must if you want to see the British Museum with children. Adrian was so knowledgeable and kept my 9 year old entertained for over 2 hrs!!! The museum is huge and was so crowded. We would have never been able to navigate it on our own. Adrian had a very organized plan and clearly knows the museum well. He showed us amazing artifacts and taught us a lot.
I traveled to Scotland and London with my 11 year old grandson. The British Museum was at the top of his list to see. I discovered quite late that private tours were options. However, when I went to book it there were no private tours available. I contacted customer service to see if they could find something and they did. Even though I thought the price was highly inflated, this was for my grandson so, I booked it. We were met by a wonderful young lady named, Alexandra. She could not have been more lovely in sharing her excitement about the museum. The first part was wonderful with the Parthenon and the history there. But from there it was in areas that really didn't interest him. We had told her he does Civil war re-enactments and so it would have been better to have focused on the British history or even American history. She also tried to engage him in activities which were for a much longer child. Also, being at the British Museum it would have been a more enjoyable experience to have a guide with a British accent. I also don't know why I was under the impression that we would have the opportunities to go into areas that maybe weren't open to the public. I realize it was a Saturday in July but it was extremely crowded which made it difficult at times to get around the crowds and see the displays. I have used Viator before so that's why I used them again. But this tour was WAY overpriced for what the website showed for other private tours and most definitely not worth what I paid. :(
Lucy was the best!! Very knowledgeable!! Very good with our children! Highly recommend this tour!! Loved our tour.
Tim was a great guide. We booked the private tour for the boys. What I loved was that he explained the building and what the meaning of the pictures carved into the building. He was informative and took note of the boys were getting tired. He suggested we go and see the gardens which was a good choice since the museum was getting crowded
Our guide Tim was excellent-he was incredibly informative and was great with the kids age 6-15 engaging them and sharing some little known facts that really impressed them. He was the very best guide you could have and we are grateful for the time we spent with him
We had a great experience with our guide Lucy. I was with my 4 daughters who range in ages from 8-22 and we all found our experience exceptional. I had my concerns initially taking my 8yo who is a very active outdoorsy kid to a museum, but she loved it!
Ainura was wonderful. She really helped bring the museum to life for our kids and did an expert job guiding us through the crowds. Would definitely recommend.
Chris gave an excellent guided tour of the British museum. Explanations and selection of artifacts were perfectly tailored for children.
The British Museum is incredible, and incredibly large. Having a private guide that knew our interests and knew how to navigate the museum was worth it! Our guide Lucy was so knowledgeable, and made sure to incorporate facts she thought our daughter would find fascinating.
Catherine is an amazing guide. Very knowledgeable and charismatic with children. We had a fantastic tour and our daughters (10 & 12 years old) were constantly intrigued by her stories on the exhibits we saw. Thank you Catherine!!!!
Lucy was an incredible tour guide!! We had her on consecutive days for the Tower of London and the British Museum. She was wonderful with our three young kids (9 and 7 yos; boy and girls) and had great stories to share that kept them engaged and informed. They spent the dinners both nights recounting the stories and trying to solve the mysteries we learned about earlier in the day. These tours were a great way for all of us to really appreciate what we were viewing by understanding the context surrounding the artifacts. Highly recommend!!
Timothy was amazing! He was patient and extremely knowledgeable-and maybe most important of all - he used a scavenger hunt to help entertain 2 teenagers…and it worked perfectly! The museum is so massive - I felt like we saw the most prominent works. Definitely a strong recommend for families!!
Our guide, Lucy was very engaging and knowledgeable. She kept the children entertained and managed to guide us through the highlights of the museum. It would have been impossible to get through as much without her. We also learnt a lot. I would recommend Lucy for family tours and also tours with adults.
We booked our private tour knowing that our 6 and 11 year olds would need some direction to really get the most out of the museum. Our tour guide, Denisa, came prepared with a binder of pictures and additional information, and also asked the kids what they wanted to see. She quickly picked up on their fascination with mummies and dead bodies and the time went quickly with not only the "must sees" such as the Rosetta stone, Elgin marbles and Assyrian gates, but also with Egyptian and European mummies "with and without wrapping", sarcophagi, peat bog bodies, skeletons and animal mummies! Highly recommend!
