Some hours later we are still thinking of the works we viewed, from a new and enriched perspective.

The tour was well organized, and our guide provided insightful commentary regarding the artists, their style, and the paintings. What an outstanding visit thanks to Joe. The museum is overwhelming with so many artifacts to see. But Joe showed us the highlights and his commentary and understanding of history was fabulous. Damiano has been great in providing this 2h tour. He gave us a very personalised experience. I explained to him it would have been my sister and her niece with me on the tour and he adapted all the stories and explanations to make this visit enjoyable for a 10 year old child. Everything was really super interesting for both my niece and us adults. The tour was memorable, light and easy to follow. Many tricks and little quizzes to make this fun and get the knowledge to stick. 10/10. Definitely would recommend and thinking about the next experience in another museum with Damiano.

Great tour about the best known paintings/artists. Damiano was a spectacular guide and very engaging. We now have an eye for the details of the paintings and history of the painters. My teens 16 and 18 were impressed as well. I would absolutely recommend if you want to get the most out of your visit to the National Gallery.

Great personally adapted tour of the main attractions of the National Gallery. Damiano is a great guide who based the tour on what we knew, what we didn’t know instead of giving what can be perceived as a standard oration. Obviously he was very knowledgeable in art history far beyond what is exhibited at this museum. He even sent us a long text message afterwards giving answer to a detailed question we had on a group of paintings that he could not answer straight away. Super professional!

Damiano was amazing! We learned so much from him and would hire him in an INSTANT to guide us again. He was knowledgeable, had great facts for us, extremely flexible and generous with his time. Our guide was so prepared, so personable. She immediately made the National Gallery more accessible for us. She was interactive in a way that allowed us to move through the collection focusing on points of personal interest and, perhaps more importantly, went on to introduce the type of history and details of unfamiliar works. Time went so quickly and we (even the teen and preteen) all shared in the sense we got so much more from the experience than we could relying on the galley map and postings. Absolutely recommend.
Stefania was an amazing guide! First, she's Italian, so she's really passionate. She's also so knowledgeable. My wife had taken 2 art history courses in college but didn't learn some of things we learned from Stefanie. The way she goes through the museum and highlights the movement and pieces in chronological order really helped us to understand the artists' development over time. In all honesty, I would have been bored to explore this museum on my own, but with the fascinating context she provided, I loved it so much. Book Stefania today!

Damiano was outstanding. Great knowledge, great culture, and sense of humor. Wonderful way to see and enjoy the important works within the museum. If you want to get a bit more exposure to the museum, you might plan on morning tour, lunch and going back through to hit what might have been missed outside of the major works covered by the 2 hour tour.

Terrific experience with our guide, Damiano. He curated the best exhibits and skillfully shepherded us through the immense galleries. His superb knowledge of the many masterpieces was fantastic and quite educational. Damiano’s wit was an extra bonus for me and my 18 year old son! Four of us were arriving from different parts of the city but our guide was very patient waiting for us to straggle in at various times. Even with a shortened tour due to our own tardiness, Damiano made every effort to show us the key pieces in the Gallery. He was thorough and very knowledgeable. Stefania was an amazing tour guide, she was able to distill the experience by taking us on a deep dive through some of the museum’s best pieces and explaining/showing us why they were important; the links and evolution of art, how it is reflective of the time it was made and also how it ties to art over all. There were many times I caught people around us straining to hear her presentation.
