Ryan was very informative and fun to be with . He had all sorts of history facts that kept us wanting more. Viator rated this tour restrictive of all people with walking/mobility/wheelchairs. I did have a transport chair because of impending knee surgery but did not bring it on the tour. After taking the tour I realized I could have been pushed around and it would have made it easier. The food was quite delicious and the varieties made it worthwhile. The food was served street side outside the restaurant. The area had quite a bit of history and the restaurants were fairly close together. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the time and we're glad that we went on the tour! Thank you Ryan you made the day special!

Great tour with Tom B! Loved hearing about the area and all the food stops.
This is a fun tour to walk through a very interesting part of London. We made a few good stops, especially for bagels with salt beef. While the other stops were good, for the price we paid I thought we would have some different food options, especially since the area has such different ethnic representation. It was a lot of sweets. I liked the guide and felt he gave some good insight to the area and was knowledgeable. We were told to arrive 15 minutes early but he didn't appear until right at 11. I could have also done without some of his personal political comments. It just isn't necessary on a tour when people join from all over with all different perspectives. I have been on two other tours with this company and for London, I prefer the evening Soho Tour better. Overall, I think this is a good tour to take to explore the East End/Shoreditch and I would recommend it.
Awesome tour! Been on many food tours and this one rates at the top. Ryan was our amazing, friendly, kind, knowledgeable, patient guide on the private London East End Food Tour and made our first day in the UK really memorable. Some food tours are just measley little tasters, but this was like lunch +++ with premium curated selections and unique east end choices. Without Ryan and Secret Food Tours we wouldn't have known the difference bewteen great fish & chips (Poppie's) and the so-so pub versions. We wouldn't have known about Humble Crumble...and all the others. Highly recommend Ryan and Secret Food Tours!
Great time! Our guide Paul was friendly, knowledgeable and excited to share the history of the area. Food was very tasty and introduced in courses as you moved through the tour stops.
We had a fantastic afternoon with Chris wandering the East End, trying some British favorites and a few new to us foods. He did a great job sharing history, cracking jokes, and accommodating our kids (ages 9 and 11). Highly recommend! Would love to do another tour with him next time we’re in London.
Luke was so much fun going around a part of town we would’ve never thought to visit. Very knowledgeable and the food was delicious as well. Plenty of food! Was enough to keep the teenage boys at bay for a few extra hours.
Ryan was an excellent Guide on our tour. We all enjoyed it tremendously and it couldn’t have been better. Lots of information and interesting content plus very yummy food.
Tom B, our guide was part historian and part chef which made the tour very enjoyable. While a bit long, we certainly enjoyed the different foods we tasted and the interesting facts that Tom gave us about the area the bridge and other key London historic sites I appreciated the on the go eating as well as the opportunity to sit at the mug house. Tom was flexible and entertaining. I’d highly recommend it, especially if you are a foodie.
Ryan did a fantastic job! He mixed history with some delicious food we would never have tried on our own
Theo was a great guide and my partner and I really enjoyed the food tour. Everything was delicious and it was fun learning about the history of a different part of London. We would recommend!
Luke was energetic and knowledgeable. A great walking tour of the historic neighborhood with several stops to sample foods. In the end it was the right amount of food and drink. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Super fun tour, great food, history and fun experience. Definitely something you should consider if you have a few hours in London.
Loved hearing about the history of London’s East side. Our guide Theo, was a phenomenal tour guide! Very knowledgeable and fun! If Theo is your guide, you’re in for a treat!
Our tour guide Theo was fantastic telling us about the rich history of the East Side of London as we sampled local favorites.
We went on a wet Wednesday morning in October but that didn’t sapped our experience! Tour guide (Jen) was excellent and very knowledgeable. All the food stops were amazing and came away feeling very full and happy!
Our guide Jen was excellent! She talked about the history of the area, which was fascinating. The food stops were varied and all were delicious. I highly recommend this tour to everyone.
Wonderful tour — Jen was an incredible guide, knowledgeable and funny. Don’t have breakfast first, you’ll get plenty to eat!
My husband and I really enjoyed this food tour in Shoreditch! We sampled a lot of delicious bites and also learned a lot about the area and its history. It was also the perfect amount of food and portion sizes - you leave satisfied but it wasn’t SO much good you’re too full to enjoy it all (I’ve experienced this on other food tours). It was also a perfect balance of savory and sweet and even included some drinks. Our guide Ryan was friendly, accommodating, and went above and beyond. I would definitely recommend this tour with Ryan on your visit to East London!
Awesome experience with a knowledgeable and very interesting guide- We learnt a lot about the local area while enjoying an amazing selection of treats!
I had an incredible time on this food tour! Our guide was absolutely amazing – they struck the perfect balance between introducing us to fantastic food spots and sharing interesting stories and history about Shoreditch. The whole experience felt really well put together, with just the right mix of eating, walking, and learning. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore London in a delicious and engaging way.
Billy was an incredible guide for our tour! She had an upbeat energy and was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and foods we were tasting. We had an incredible time.
Fantastic food and lots of interesting history thrown in! Would definitely recommend a tour by Jenny! Thanks so much!!
Jeremy was prompt and did a wonderful job! The tastings were filling and yummy! I didn’t need dinner ! Lol Wonderful experience!
We had a lovely time on this tour. Billie was an excellent tour guide and she was very knowledgeable about the area and the foods she wanted us to try.
Great tour with Theo! He was very knowledgeable and made it fun! Nice combo of area history and food, of course! We traveled as 4 adults, 2 different generations. Fun for all!
Jenny was a wonderful guide. Very informative and made the tour a lot of fun. Food was delicious and I learned a lot about East London
Jenny was amazing. So knowledgeable and fun. And all of the spots and all of the food was incredible too, and it was so great hearing the history of each spot. My second secret food tour, and would highly recommend based on both experiences. Would recommend getting upgraded drinks or buying the hot chocolate when given the opportunity
Ryan is very knowledgeable, entertaining, and fun. Food stops are amazing and good variety. Definitely recommend for people of all ages.
Had the absolute best time ever! We have a family of 5 and it was the highlight of our trip! The food was incredible as it forced us to step out of the norm. Our guide, Jenny made it even better! Cannot recommend her enough!
We took the East End Indian Food Tour with Jezien in May. The tour was fantastic! Jezien is smart, funny, interesting, and engaging and an excellent host! My husband is a pesca-ovo-lactarian and his preference was easily accomodated. Highly recommend this tour with Jezien!
10 out of 10. Excellent tour. Learnt a lot. Great food. Jenny was excellent. Easy walking. Thank you.....Simon, Dan and Sonny.
Really enjoyed this tour of the East End. Food was tasty and paced well. Not an overwhelming amount of food which I appreciated. Ryan was a fantastic guide. Funny, informative, friendly, a perfect host! Would definitely recommend.
We had a great time with our excellent tour guide, Ryan. He really knows about the area, we had great food, and lots of fun. I highly recommend. Thanks Ryan!
Gary was awesome. Very knowledgeable. The good and drink were great. I recommend this tour. I don’t need to eat again for 12 hours.
Jenny was exceptional. She was extremely accommodating for my friend who needed to go slowly due to a prior injury and for food allergies. The tour was great for history and food. Good variety of cuisines from start to finish. I would highly recommend as it is an intimate group. Total of a mile and a half walking with multiple rest stops.
Jenny was amazing! She shared so many fun facts, provided us with a wealth of historical information, and the food was great!
This was an absolutely wonderful food tour--the East End, Brick Lane and Spitalfields Market were all wonderful places to visit, and even better places to eat in! A very loud shoutout to our guide Jenny, who not only knew all the history and showed us places we probably wouldn't have found ourselves (the Indian sweets store!!!), but also knew so much about the neighborhood--it felt like we were taking a walk with a good friend who was introducing us to the place. You'll have an even more wonderful time with Jenny as your guide! If you're looking for something a little out of the ordinary in terms of food, and definitely in terms of atmosphere, this is the tour to take--and try to go on a Sunday, when Brick Lane has its Sunday market, as that's great fun to walk through as well.
We had a TREMENDOUS experience with Tom (original Tom!) in the East End. His knowledge base was so impressive, he was incredibly engaging with the kids (15, 12, 9) and kept things FUN! It’s such a great way to explore areas of the city. This is our second Secret Food Tour in London and they never disappoint!
Gary, Gary, Gary- thanks from all 3 of us! Gary is the person to book your food tour in London with. Did I mention to book with Gary! Thanks Gary:)
The best food tour I've ever been on. Jenny was knowledgeable and took us to the best places. I tried things I never would have and enjoyed them all.
Luke was an amazing tour guide and very knowledgeable. The food was wonderful. Would highly recommend this tour if you’re in London.
Amazing time with Tom B. Wonderful food and lots of history on London and the East End. Sweet and savory and a bit of shopping in Spitalfields Market. Great time!
Theo! What an amazing guide. Myself and a friend this tour on a cold February morning. Theo was the BEST guide. We did the East end tour, sampled the BEST bagels, heard the most interesting facts and really got to know the area. Theo was so informative and really knew the area and the history. He was charming and funny and we want to do every tour he does! Book this tour and ask for Theo.. you won't regret it.
Fabulous information and amazing food venues. The Shoreditch area is up and coming and it was great to have an awesome guide (Luke) share the history of the area and introduce us to some historical and outstanding food venues. Luke really took care of us! It was very cold out - recommend dressing warm if chilly as you are outside the entire time.
Great food and Luke was great guide! Informative guide and tasty food. I recommend doing this. Was cold but not as worth it.
We love doing food tours whenever we travel. This was one of the better ones. Just the right amount of food -- enough to fill up, but not too much. Our guide Charlotte was great -- very friendly and full of interesting stories and history.
Do you know where the expression “don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater” comes from? I didn’t, but Francis does. If you want to find out this and more about the history of London’s East End, then take Francis’s London East End Gang Tour. It’s not just about the gangs it’s also a great glimpse into the fascinating history of the City of London with a little Jack the Ripper thrown in. He’s a great story teller and historian and great company over a pint after the tour at Dirty Dicks Pub. By the way do you know the history behind Dirty Dicks? Francis does. Cheers.
We have taken many SFT walks around the world. Our morning with Luc in East London was one of the best ever. The area is quirky, and the food stops simply delicious. Luc is the magic here though. He has deep food knowledge as well as an expansive grasp of related British and London history. Luc shared trivia and local stories all along the way which put all our food stops into local historical context. Thanks Luc for a great tour!!
Great knowledge and overall experience. Guide even helped us find our way back to central London at the end
