Private Driver Guided Tours Windsor Castle And Stonehenge

Wow! Wish we could give more stars. This was absolutely the best way to see Stonedge and Windsor (and a couple surprise stops!). Our guide Darius was just the best. Funny, great stories, personable and just the right amount of history. Very easy booking process with great communication from David. A must!!!

We had such a wonderful day with Christopher as our guide. Our family of 5 adults toured Eaton, Windsor Castle and Stonehenge with a surprise visit to Woodhenge. Christopher was absolutely fantastic!! He took such care in each stop and knew the history of every place we went to! He also added a surprise visit to Woodhenge. That was simply one of the coolest places we have been!! It was amazing learn about the history of Woodhenge and how it relates to Stonehenge. We learned so much! And Christopher was an amazing guide! The ease of the day was unmatched! From the moment he picked us up to drop off at the end of the day!! Best tour on our one week visit to London! I highly recommend seeing these spots with someone so knowledgeable!

We had an amazing day and highly recommend this company for private tours. From beginning to end, everything was easy. David was very responsive and helpful in planning our day. We planned a trip to Windsor, Salisbury and the sunset Stonehenge tour. Our driver Steve was right on time, kept us on schedule and recommended a great restaurant for dinner. He was knowledgeable about our tour stops and shared valuable information and great stories. We really enjoyed spending the drive time with him. We would definitely book with this company again!

Darius was INCREDIBLE!!! He made our entire trip. He was so kind, knowledgeable, prompt, and friendly! We had some spare time, so he took us to a nearby village will beautiful architecture and a church built in the 1100s! We mentioned we liked smaller, less touristy, special experiences like that and he made it happen! He also took so many great photos of us. Our day with Darius was absolutely the best day of the trip so far!! Cannot recommend him enough.

David was easy to coordinate with, quick to respond and most of all an amazing driver and guide. Our family of 6 loved the tour of Stonehenge and Windsor, complete with David’s information and recommendations to maximize our time at each. We also loved the pub lunch that he helped setup for us. Overall fantastic experience!

We had a wonderful experience. Our party required two cars and were picked up promptly at the airport by Darius and Steve. Our tour included Windsor and by choice we opted to do more of a drive by for Stonehenge. We were taken through some beautiful countryside and local towns on the way to our hotel in Southampton. Great service!

We had a pleasant day with our tour guide Charles, he picked us up in a very clean comfortable vehicle. We headed over to Stonehenge, had a very yummy lunch at an English Pub, then headed to Windsor/Eaton for a few hours. Charles was such a great guide, we felt like we spent the day with a good friend. He was also very flexible with out time and even dropped us off at a different spot. I highly recommend this company!!

We booked a private tour from London to Stonehenge and Windsor. Our guide was Christopher. We had a simply fantastic time. Christopher was on-time for the pickup at our hotel. He navigated the streets of London and whisked us quickly up to Stonehenge. He is very knowledgeable about the site and was full of enlightening facts and stories. After viewing Stonehenge, he drove us to Windsor and we toured the Palace. After two and one-half hours and a cup of ice cream in the town of Windsor, Christopher got us back to London and a drop-off at our hotel. It couldn't have been better!

Christopher was our fantastic private guide! With his expert and passionate knowledge we had such a phenomenal day and the weather was beautiful for my family of 3. First stop was little known Woodhenge (I’d never heard of it before) and I’m so grateful he shared this important precursor to Stonehenge with us. I even got to experience the unexplained phenomenon of walking barefoot on the grass! (I won’t spoil the surprise, you just have to do it yourselves) Afterwards we headed to prehistoric Stonehenge just beyond the hill (or a nice walk over the fields for the adventurous) and all I can say is WOW! I could literally stay here all day to drink it in! The view of the stones are strikingly different from every.single.angle! Finally we made our way to Windsor Castle. Another BIG WOW! I could have taken all day here as well to explore every crevice they might let me poke my nose in! The perfect ending to the day was when Christopher recommended this lovely river side restaurant in the village for our evening meal, complete with Windsor Castle across the way, a perfect backdrop and end to the day. We even got to see the Kings Swans! All in all, we can’t say enough about this tour and especially Christopher, what started out as meeting someone new turned out to becoming lifelong friends. Can’t wait to come back to England for another London Country Tour

Eddie, incredibly knowledgeable, superb driving. Kind, never irritated with our endless questions and comments. He was so much fun that he was the highlight of the day. If you’re lucky enough to book him, go for it!!

What a fun day we had to Stonehenge and Windsor with our driver/guide Steve. We were picked up promptly at our hotel in London at the agreed to time and Steve took us to Stonehenge and then Windsor. He provided commentary as we went along and great hints about where to grab a quick lunch in Windsor and the perfect pub for an after tour beer before we headed back to London. We planned the trip with owner, David Stubbs, who promptly answered emails and helped us efficiently plan our day. We would definitely recommend London Country Tours - specifically David and Steve and would use them again when we find ourselves in the area.

Our driver, Ash, was wonderful! Very accomodating. He upgraded us to a larger vehicle, knowing we had kids with us, which was great --- room to spread out and enjoy the ride. He was knowledgeable about the areas we were passing by and about the places we were visiting. He drove us safely and efficiently. Very happy with this driver experience!

Beware! We booked private guided tour with Dave the owner. Without prior notice, Dave sent another person (5-star) to meet us who told us he is NOT a guide. Wonderful driver - not a guide. Also their website indicates they do NOT subcontract- then why did driver bill us to his private company and not Dave’s company? Not sure what we paid for - however from correspondence it appears we paid for a driver/guide. I’m big on honesty and full disclosure!

Our recent private escorted tour to Stonehenge and Windsor Castle with London Country Tours can only be described as amazing.. The entire day was customized and adjusted to our needs, everything from making reservations for lunch to drop off and pickup at each venue entry point.. The service was second to none. I would highly recommend London Country Tours for day trips out of London.

If you're looking to tour London and beyond, look no further than London Country Tours! We used them two days in a row - for different tours. Why two days in a row? The company we had one of our tours booked through cancelled at the last minute. We immediately called London Country Tours and they quickly stepped up where the other company had failed! WOW! Talk about excellent customer service! Both Alam (on Wednesday) and Darius (on Thursday) provided exceptional customer service and far surpassed our expectations - from explaining information throughout the tour, recommending places to eat and offering to making reservations, providing side excursions that enhanced our tour, to being flexible with our schedule. So accommodating, friendly, funny, knowledgeable, and professional! Truly, I can't say enough good things about these two. Don't look any further than this company. Book it and prepare for the best! Definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Cliff was very informative and attentive - and provided great tips and anecdotes. It was wonderful to have enough time to visit both Windsor and Stonehenge. Incredible sites!

The tour was fantastic. Graham was knowledgeable and made the long stretches of driving fly by. We did the Windsor and Stonehenge trip (however we decided to forgo a pub lunch and grab a sandwich on the go to hit Salisbury as well). Graham took care of us at each site with instructions and insider tips. The vehicle was lovely and the caramels delicious!

Had a wonderful time at Stonehenge and Windsor Castle and highly recommend visiting those sites, but note this package is NOT A GUIDED TOUR. Basically it just a driver for the day to take you to Stonehenge and Windsor Castle. You NEED TO BY TICKETS TO BOTH IN ADVANCE ON YOUR OWN or there may not be availability the day of and at the time you want which wasn't very clear to me either. Our driver was very nice and on time, but the fact this is listed as a "private guided tour" is misleading. For this reason I would not recommend. Just hire a driver for the day.

We were expecting a guide/driver but instead had a driver. Our driver was very good - and I would give him 5 stars as he got us to both sites and gave us assistance to avoid lines. He was very nice but he was not a guide. When he arrived, he stated that the guide that was supposed to be with him was ill. Not sure I believe that as we were expecting a guide/driver in one - and the seat where this person would have sat was filled with supplies. The drive did offer tour books and an ipad to show you tube videos about the sites but we could have provided that on our own. Again, the driver was good. We just expected more from tour company based on the description of the tour and money paid. I only gave 3 stars because tour company was very responsive when contacted prior to tour about tickets required etc.

This was not a “private guided tour.” Driver didn’t guide us at all. He was basically a private driver who drove us to Windsor, a lunch spot, and then to Stonehedge. Although he was a super nice guy and a great driver (and provided us with waters and kept us on time), we got the sense that he was new to the job. Literally gave us no commentary about what we’re seeing or where we were. And most disappointing was that he dropped us at the back entrance to Stonehedge which resulted in a 20 minute walk to the entrance in the heat. He had no knowledge of where the main entrance was or that there was a whole visiting center where we needed to pick up our actual tickets. He was able to find us at the right pick up spot but we found it strange that we were informing him of the visitors center. This was an expensive day and we expected both driver and private tour. But only got a driver.

Our driver Mo was very nice and took good care of us, driving my family of four people to and from Windsor Castle and Stonehenge so I would call this service "private transportation" but, by no means it was a private GUIDED TOUR. There was no narration or guidance provided, just a few books, water and crackers on board. We had to buy our own tickets to the venues that had no guidance/narration either and we learned about the need of those tickets only a couple of days prior so I was not even able to get the recommended time slots. Thank God, the venues were not very strict about it and let us in no problem. I have a feeling that the company works as a dispatcher that collects orders for tours of all kinds and then delegates those further to any independent drivers with transportation, available on that day. There was a lot of confusion in the morning with the office. The driver arrived on time but with wrong pick up time slot and names. Even though, both parties approached each other several times with travel details, we did not find those matching. All these resulted in a 30 min. delay and unnecessary hustle. After several calls to the office, we got finally matched and took off but it did not have to be this way. I know that London is overloaded with tourists these days, but those are pricy private arrangements and I did not have any problems of the sort with my other local tour providers. So, decide for yourself.

Great tour with Kiri! Having a car and knowledgeable driver is really fantastic when you have a family! That’s the way to do Stonehenge and Windsor!

We had 2 days with Maha as our personal driver! First day he took us to Oxford and The Cotswolds. The second day was Windsor and Stonehenge. He went above and beyond for our family and was friendly and always ready to pick us up! We felt very safe with him at the wheel even in the crazy London traffic and changing weather conditions! He was always prepared whether it was having water for us, tissues, you tube videos to watch and an extra umbrella to use! Great restaurant recommendations and very professional!! Highly recommend!!!

As a frequent subscriber to Viator Tours (Paris, Madrid, Dublin, Lisbon, and later this year Lyon, France...) I have been impressed with the always excellent quality of the experience and value for the money. I have never been disappointed by a Viator product until now - all recieved the highest ratings. "Tours" are not Taxi Rides, there is an expectation that the Driver/Guide will know the history of the route, information about the venues visited, and be capable of answering questions. Our Driver was very kind, nice guy but TOTALLY UNABLE to offer anything other than a good drive. My suggestion is that others bypass this Tour and look for something else since for our family it cost several hundred dollars.

What a privilege to have a private tour of Windsor castle. Amanda was very approachable and open to questions, exquisite detail during the tour making it very personable. Amazing watching the changing of the guards , learning about the Windsor castle Community, the beautiful insight into our late Queen , St George’s chapel tour and even-song which I felt very honoured to be able to attend but actually overall one of my favourite days out. We spent a long day with David who was on time, polite and knowledgeable. He picked us up from our flat and filled us with history and pointed out sights along the way to Windsor and Stonehenge. He reserved us a table at a very nice pub/restaurant along the way and got us back to London exactly at the time promised. There were 8 of us and we all slept the entire ride home. We would do it all again with this service.

Graham was right on time and a wonderful guide. He let us shop a little since Windsor castle was closed. The lunch at The Wheat Shaff on the Avon river was a delight. We saw BOTH Woodhenge and Stonehenge, which helped in gaining a big picture perspective on these historical wonders. The pace of the trip was easy. Plenty of time at all locations. 9 hours round trip. Highly recommend!

We have not taken the tour yet, but wanted to share how easy it has been to set it up. I had questions and emailed David (several times) and each time he has responded in a timely manner, friendly and has answered my questions. One of my questions was about purchasing admission tickets for our destinations. He informed me of what times slots to select my admission tickets to allow the day to run smoothly. He has been very helpful. I’m looking forward to our tour! 😁😁😁

Fantastic. Peter was the best tour guide possible, he was very friendly and had a wealth of knowledge about the castle and Stonehenge and British history in general. Quite a sense of humor. I kept his number so I could keep in touch, I will definitely be back again.

John was a great driver. Punctual, patient, and knowledgeable about all things England. The day was planned perfectly and we enjoyed his lunch selection.
