We had an absolutely fantastic day with Christopher! He picked us up right from Southampton and made the entire day incredibly easy and enjoyable. We started with Windsor Castle, where Christopher knew all the perfect spots to take us for the best views and photos, and then continued into London where he showed us all the highlights. Christopher was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and especially patient with our kids, which made such a difference for our family. He was also very flexible with what we wanted to see — he even made time for a stop at the Jellycat store, which was a huge hit with the kids! It was the perfect way to make the most of our day travelling from Southampton to London. We never felt rushed, saw so much more than we could have managed on our own, and Christopher took great care of us from start to finish. We would highly recommend Christopher, especially for families looking for a private, flexible tour. Thank you, Christopher, for making our day in England such a memorable one!
We selected a private tour of London for one of our 2 days we visited there. Our driver David contacted me the night before and confirmed pick up time. He notified me when he reached the hotel. David drove us to the 3 destinations we had selected for the day (Tower of London, St Paul’s Cathedral and the London Eye). He also made a lunch reservations in the Borough Market at a nice pub. During the drive he pointed out interesting land marks and talked about the history of the area. Drop off , pick up points and times were agreed upon. We communicated via WhatsApp to confirm time and place. David gave us tips about each location so we could make the best use of the time we had at each site. If you are looking for a comfortable, safe and enjoyable tour I would recommend London County Tours for your experience.
Eddie was our driver today and we had a lovely time. We did a custom tour and had a drive to the Tank Museum in Bovington and Chessington Adventure. It was a blast and a great value. He was very hospitable, kind and stopped when the family needed to stop for a rest. He even surprised us with a stop at the filming place of Ted lasso! I highly recommend!
Was it unconventional yes, was it worth it yes. We loosely planned a completely ludicrous itinerary that included Stonehenge and the Cotswolds and somehow they made it happen. Eddie Prendergast then improvised further filling in the gaps and took us on a fantastic journey to sights that most wouldn't see like Winston Churchill's grave, Blenheim Palace, the Windsor Walk, lunch at the Porch House Stow-on-the-Wold, Cheltenham with sticky toffee pudding and sights of the Cotswolds with unique ideas that a normal tour just can't accomplish. Thank you London Country Tours(David) And most of all thank you Eddie for sharing your day with us.
Eddie was our lovely driver, and he truly made our day to the Cotswolds the best day of our vacation! He went above and beyond to get as much as we could out of our day trip. He knew how to avoid traffic, how to get us in to the best areas, where to eat, best routes to take, all the things. On top of that, he was quite fun and a great guy! He even gave us helpful advice and recommendations that we used for the rest of our vacation! Can’t recommend him enough! Thank you, Eddie!
Darius was our driver for the day and he was lovely. Such a great guy. The car was well appointed with water, tissues, phone chargers, and reclining seats for our afternoon nap! He told us a bit of his life history and some things about where we were going, drove us to Stonehenge and Windsor Castle (our pre-planned choices for destination), and surprised us with a few small stops for great family photo ops. He reserved a table at a small town local authentic pub for us for lunch. We all loved it. We travelled with our 13 and 16 year old. It was a great day for everyone! We all highly recommend. Secure your venue tickets beforehand.
What a great day we had with our tour guide Eddie. He was such fun and full of brilliant tips and knowledge, as he drove us around the awesome sights of London. Eddie went far and beyond what we expected and took us to Greenwich to see the meridian line which divides the east and west hemispheres. The views all over London were spectacular. We had lunch in Borough market which Eddie recommended and it did not disappoint. This tour was the highlight of our trip.
Eddie was an incredible guide, showing us all around London in a day. There were a few hiccups in our schedule that he worked around nicely. He saw that we were well taken care of, and gave us lots of practical hints for getting the most of our tour.
I highly recommend London Country Tours. This was the third time I booked with David Stubbs. Again, his tours were the highlight of our trip. We were once again enchanted with the magic of England. David's tours provided door to door service and he timed our visits to minimize crowds and maximize our enjoyment. He and his colleagues are expert at avoiding delays and knowing some surprises to enthrall us. Thank you for giving us such treasured memories. We had just watched Wolf Hall and were delighted to learn so much about the Boleyn family. The Cotswalds were as lovely as ever.
Christopher was exceptional. Went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful day. Can’t say enough nice things about him. And about all the wonderful places he showed us.
Our guide was Peter. He was entirely open to making sure we saw and did the things we wanted to do. By being so flexible the day was completely ours. He made it an unforgettable experience.
Edie was great! Nice tour, shared a lot of his knowledge and experience with us. We even made an extra stop at the Greenwich timeliness. David Stubbs was kind and very accommodating on short notice. Thank you.
Fabulous time! Eddie Pendergast was our driver and he was awesome. We saw so much in a day with such great commentary. We would highly recommend the experience if you only have a day!
This was the perfect tour for our group of seven. Our tour guide Peter was very knowledgeable and absolutely delightful.
This is our second tour with David Stubbs and as always it was wonderful. We went to Cambridge this time and had a fabulous day. David feels like an old friend and I will book him again. You can customize any tour within reason and David will handle it. Next time I think we will do a multiple day trip with him! Well worth it!
We did a TEN day tour of London. We say over 27 sites in London. David was an exceptional guide. One great thing about him was that he planned our trip BEFORE we arrived in London. He saw that we wanted to see all of London. We were so overwhelmed since it was our firt time in London. He was on-time every day. He picked us up at the hotel and guided us at every turn. One thing to note, he will not guide you inside the site, eg., inside Windsor Castle. There are free tours inside and there are recordings on phones the Castle will give you. However, he provides expert guidance as to what to see inside. I did not want to spend 8 hours on one site. I wanted to hit 3 places. For example, we travelled to Stonehenge, then Lacock and then the Roman Baths. If I took a "guide" we would be stuck at Stonehedge for hours. If you want to see all of London, David and team are the way to go. I had so much flexibility. Sometimes we stayed longer at some sites than others. I highly recommend him. He has immense patience and my daughters felt very comfortable. I travel all over the world. He is honest and trustworthy. Thanks, David. We had the time of our lives. We will definitely be back to see the rest of England with you as our trusted guide.
Driver was fabulous! Very knowledgeable, entertaining and lenient. Recommend highly. He was open to whatever the day brought
David is phenomenal! Funny, knowledgeable, professional and more! I highly recommend all of his tours! We spent 4 days/tours with David. He and his associates are excellent!
We booked our private custom one day tour in London with the highly recommended tour guide David Stubbs, but as a result of an illness we were switched to Peter as our tour guide. Peter did a very good job. All went well with one minor problem being that all my communications with David where not transferred to Peter so it was a little confusing as to what we wanted to see. But with the exception of one stop we saw everything we wanted to see on our world wind tour of London in a day. My grandson had this on his bucket list and it was a gift for his 13th birthday. We took the first EuroStar train from Paris to London and the second to last returning back to Paris. So, we were in London from 9:00 to 5:30. We were a family of six and chose to only visit the outside of many attractions. We did go inside the Science museum for one hour. We did go to The Albert - an English pub for lunch which was very good food, but it had very slow service a little over two hours which ate up some valuable time. The tour guide was very knowable and a very good driver. But, it was a little hard for the people in the back seat to hear him. See the photos for all that we were able to see.
Our guide Peter was the best! Throughly enjoyed our day in London! This was definitely the way to get around.
Our most memorable of our lovely Day was the Kind and Wonderful Mr. Stubbs. We will recommend your service to all our family and friends who travel to lovely London. Worth every penny and then some. Thank you Mr. Stubbs. Best Regards, Lorraine Wharton, Louisville, Kentucky
Nothing more than a driver. He had an ear bud that had history & facts about different attractions the he merely tried to repeat. He didn’t know anything!
We started out scouring online reviews for private tours, then I emailed them all and waited. I heard back from most, and had trouble with the email for London Country Tours, but I finally got ahold of David. He was very nice and gave me tons of options. I asked his opinion on what to see in a day, and together we came up with Stonehenge, LaCock and Bath. I have always wanted to see Stonehenge, so beyond that I wanted to see the countryside, and bath. I am a travel agent in MN, but hadnt been to this part of the world, so we wanted to see all that we could, with knowledgeable private guides that could be with us along the way. We knew it was going to be a good day when we kept in touch with David all the way up until the day of the tour. We were met a few mins early by Graham in front of our London hotel. He had a great vehicle and off we went in the traffic of the city. Graham knew right where to go to avoid it, and showed us things in the city as we made our way out. We immediately liked Graham, he was very personable and had answers to all of our questions (and we had many). Graham knew how much I'd wanted to see Stonehenge so he brought us to a couple extra stops that were related. One was where they think a Stonehenge was built in wood first, to the Cucko stone (spelling?) and then to a place on the way home where some of the stones came from. He knew about some Harry Potter stuff I didnt even know was in the town of LaCock (I am a huge fan) and walked us through LaCock showing us around. This town was so cute, some places were selling stuff outside of their front doors, and Graham bought us some local dried lavendar. We stopped at a great place for lunch and we bought him his lunch. It was fantastic! The landscape is so lovely, and Graham was happy to stop anywhere and everywhere we asked him to. He had a BIG ole bag of treats and drinks for us, and his vehicle was very comfortable. We had the best day, and we now can look back and feel like we have a friend that lives in London. If we go back, we'll definitely use London Country Tours again, and ask for Graham for sure!
The guide was good and offered lot of historic details about London. But the guide doesn't accompany us to the places and admission process is left to the visitors. There was no prior guidance from the tour operator or guide on waiting time for tickets and tour pf places. The guide took us to places only to realize there is lot of waiting time.
We never could have seen and experienced even half of what we did if we hadn't booked London Country Tours. Martin was our guide and I have to say, we really enjoyed his company and his in depth knowledge of London and it's sights. We got so much out of each venue we visited thanks to Martin. The kids are even putting Martin in our photo book!! We highly recommend touring this way. Worth every penny!!
Our guide was simply phenomenal and I can not begin to express what a wonderful time we all had - thank you. Our guide was hospitable, knowledgeable, friendly and a wonderful gentlemen to spend our day with. We will be sure to use him again if we were to visit again.
